Please don't use the advisor script on the Lua modules. It's not designed for that purpose, and we do things differently in the module code than we would in the wikicode within an article because modules are written in Lua, not wikicode. Imzadi 1979 → 02:43, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Oh, and while I'm thinking of it after I hit save, you had changed it so that all Interstates in Georgia were linking to "Interstate X in Georgia", but that isn't right for the 3dIs. I fixed the code so that the 2dIs will link that way while the 3dIs link the "old" or "proper" way. Imzadi 1979 → 02:45, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Pardon me if I've asked this before, but what is the purpose of the Highways page? I saw it came back into the Category:Jct template transclusions with missing shields last week and I've been trying to figure out what it will be. I don't see the big picture, sadly. Ok, then I'll ask a follow-up question: what is the purpose of the page in relation to editing our existing articles? You see, Wikipedia is not a web hosting service, so all of the pages in our user space exist to foster collaboration or article improvement. For example, User:Imzadi1979/Sandbox5 hosts a draft of List of County-Designated Highways in Michigan that uses a single table, pre-WP:USRD/STDS/L, for future updates to the regular version of the article. User:Imzadi1979 provides other editors with information on my work and interest areas. Fredddie and I are left wondering what the big picture purpose is for the page, because if there isn't one, our policies say it needs to be deleted. Imzadi 1979 → 08:49, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Well, you implied it. After I get done, maybe I can go back to the other pages and update the terminii. The highway(s) at the terminii are usually or always correct. It is usually the city or other location. Allen (Morriswa) (talk) 09:41, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
Wouldn't it be simpler to just update the articles in question and then make a note for yourself that you did it? I could be wrong, but it seems to me that you're creating more work for yourself than is necessary. I would hate for you to get wikibonked because of a project that may never end and nobody else can figure out in order to help you finish it. –Fredddie™ 12:02, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
Well, from previous experience, I have found that, if I use Google Maps, Rand McNally's online mapping, or some other services to edit as you "suggested", that someone is quick to revert me and give me grief about what I did. This page was originally just a spreadsheet that I started on either Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.org Calc (I don't remember which). I wanted a way to save it to Wikipedia, using the same format as I had in the spreadsheet. However, I couldn't find a way, so I had to make it as close as I could. I kept having other people comment on how strange the formats were (although they meant much to my mind). That is why I recently started removing my odd color/font scheme from the page. WP:BRD says to be bold, which you were, revert, which other people did, and to discuss. Have you discussed it each time? I'm not saying bring it to WT:USRD every time, just talk it out with the reverting editor. –Fredddie™ 17:46, 11 May 2014 (UTC)
BRD is a great concept to follow. Remember that geographic locations can be "rounded off" in the text when discussing termini or junctions, saying something is "near" a city rather than trying to be precise. Two editors can disagree on how to round that off... just look on WP:LAME for the edit wars over I-75's southern terminus near Miami. If there are other issues where reliable sources disagree, then you'll need to discuss with other interested editors in how to resolve things, which might be to say "MDOT says X, but FHWA says Y", or "signage says A, but AASHTO says B" in the case of the northern termini of Interstate 275 (Michigan) and U.S. Route 223. Can you do us a favor and remove {{jct}} from User:Morriswa/Highways? It's showing up in Category:Jct template errors, and we would like to get that category cleared. Some of the numbers you're listing are unlikely to have shield graphics created, so as long as you're trying to use jct, we will never clear the category. Imzadi 1979 → 05:04, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
