Well, you've certainly upgraded the page to a high level, I have to admit, a job well done indeed. Whether I could fill in the details very well myself, is something I very much doubt, probably don't have such patience for that. I've put up the discography for ease of access, I suppose, and making the page was to highlight an album that is quite worth (in my opinion) enough to listen to. I guess this is a sort of unequal partnership of getthing the page to 'noteworthy' status. I didn't do much or the bulk of it. Sorry if I was a little incivil. I'm just angered by people who think "all charted singles are notable" and refuse to have them redirected, when WP:NSONGS clearly says that any stub about a song may be redirected. Do you have any objection to a redirect, as this is clearly never getting beyond stub status? My main concern is lack of sources. Got it on the list....

Apparently there is a need to verify the particpation of the notable individuls per point 2 of Wikipedia:NF#Other_evidence_of_notability. WP:NTEMP is being forgotten, as some editors seem to act as if the GNG supercedes all other notability guideline when it actually doesn't. The top of the page at Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Film tells how to add articles to an AfD list for films. Each Wikiproject's page shows how to add to their list. Squeezing through CSD

Hi Dylan! Thanks for your delete vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Russian athlete. I initially felt the same way you seem to feel about it: It's crazy; someone just spent a minute for something as unnotable as this, and we have to spend several minutes to purge it. But now I see it differently: If that's crazy, then it's just as crazy as life itself. For me, that's what makes life - and working at Wikipedia - interesting. The border between right and wrong is fractal, like the edge of the Mandelbrot set. There are some areas that are clearly in the set, and some that are clearly outside, but the interesting thing happens at the border. A drink just happens to be one of those topics that may be notable, or it may be something somebody just made up in a minute. You don't know without investing some time. CSD is intentionally just for no-brainer cases. We could refine our criteria, but that would make them less of a no-brainer overall. I think the way it is is good enough. • There is nothing pointy about it. I guessed (correctly) that some editors would oppose redirects based on small reviews or trivial mentions. Past experience has shown me that fans go in and just undo redirects, even if a discussion on the talk page agreed. I didn't set out to nom them all at first. I stumbled across one of their albums and it was like pulling on a thread, every one I went to had the same problems. So rather than just ignore it and make it someone elses problem, I made the noms. Projectionist Page

As I understand it from my reading of the helps pages in Wikipedia, there is a proper dispute process to go through if you disagree with the contents of a page. I note you have effectively deleted the projectionist page without undergoing any of this due process. Normally you are supposed to tag the page with flags denoting your concerns and leave comments in the discussion page in order that the author(s) can address them. Noted your comments on original research. I have read some of the material on this and need a bit of time to read the rest. Some comments to date:

Some of the original research material seems to indicate that the only way we can author an article is to literally cut and paste from other sources. Surely this would lead to plagiarism problems?

I admit that the article is in one sense original research based on talking to many projectionists over many years and visiting many projection boxes. I found literature on the topic very hard to come by. There is of course a lot of highly technical literature sure as Richardson's Blue Book of Projection and the SMPTE publications but these are all very technical. The original article set out to detail what a projectionist is and does. However, it originally had too much jargon. I don't think it had any references either. I re-wrote it to remove the jargon.

In another sense it is not original research in that I have not introduced any new theories or suppositions but only re-iterated what is common knowledge in the industry obtained verbally from industry sources.

I need more guidance on what constitutes original research with respect to Wikipedia. If the only acceptable articles are based on cut and paste of other written material then I guess Wikipedia is not the place for this article. If articles can conform if they comply with current industry knowledge even where written material is sparse then it should be OK.

I will try to find some supporting material on the internet where I can. We could also put a comment in the discussion section asking others if they have know of any suitable references that are relevant

While a redirect is a common outcome at AfD, that because consensus has come up with a better alternative than the nomination:- since you already believe redirect to be the best option, why not discuss it at the correct venue? • Sorry but that was really a pants NAC. Speedy keeping something that has only just been listed and has not been properly discussed is never going to fly and superimposes your opinion on top of the participants of the discussion - or in this case the potential participants as you never gave them a chance to comment. NAC are for non-controversial closes and this is never going to be that. I have reversed your AFD close and closed the DRV. Copyright violations

Hi, Dylanfromthenorth. Thanks for keeping an eye out for copyright violations. Your efforts are appreciated! I wanted to mention, though, that it isn't always necessary to tag them for speedy deletion. If only one section of an article has copyvio text -- but the rest of the article is fine (for example, has a infobox and introduction) -- than the copyvio text can simply be removed. That way , we get to keep a good article. As done with The Haunted Mask Lives! and Beyond the Valley of Thorns. If you are uncertain whether or not the text is a copyright violation and you want it to be reviewed by an administrator, than the section can be blanked using the procedure found at Wikipedia:Copyright problems#Instructions and the article can be submitted for copyright review there. I created the Wiki page for singer/songriter/artist Alex Nackman back in 2006. I have just found out that has recently been deleted ion the last week, with your nomination leading the pack. I am really disappointed here. I've tried to follow all the Wiki rules and keep things as impartial and currently informative as possible. Alex Nackman is an established independent artist/musician from New York. He has toured over 700 shows worldwide and released 5 albums that are available almost everywhere and certainly online. He has also had roughly 40 songs placed on various television shows in the U.S. and UK, not to mention over 500,000 views at his myspace. Though he is not a major label artist or on the front cover of Rolling Stone, he has done enough where I think he deserves to have his Wiki page re-instated. I used to manage him and do not anymore, but I still help out and keep things current on the web for Alex and his management. I have never inflated his Wiki page with false or opinionated text. I have only provided the facts and some background bio information. If you just google his name, there are dozens of pages and information on Alex Nackman.

I truly hope you and the Wki team will help reconsider. There were other strong "keep" nominations for this article in previous discussions.

• Although I was the one who nominated the Alex Nackman article for deletion its fate was decided by community consensus, as interpreted by the closing admin, User:Cirt. The main concerns I had with the article were the question mark over his notability and the lack of significant coverage in reliable sources that were independent of the subject. Hi, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, your edits about the date of birth for Lizzie Cundy keep getting reverted as they weren't sourced. Information in articles, particularly those on living people should have references that substantiate that information. Those references should be in reliable sources so that we know its accurate. It isn't enough to have been to school with a subject, as wikipedia editors aren't reliable sources. The reason for these rules is to try and maintain credibility for the encyclopedia. You can get more info on this in the WP:VERIFY, WP:VNT and WP:TRUTH guidelines, or if you need to know more reply on my talk page. Hope that helps. Thank you so much Dylan. Barrymore's early comedies are often ignored. Gene Fowler in Good Night Sweet Prince dismissed them as trivial. But Barrymore was a comedian as well as classic drama actor. He began his career in comedy and ended it there. An amusing story I think by Kotsilibas-Davis, has Barrymore working on one of these Famous Players, Long Island shot comedies and the director is James Kirkwood. The story goes that Barrymore is off somewhere in a bar on a binge and Kirkwood is looking for him so that they can finish the picture. Kirkwood eventually finds him and says something on the order "if you don't return with me to the set, I'll sling you over my shoulder and we'll go back together and complete the film". I'm at a loss trying to understand why you prodded leisure society with the rationale of unencyclopedic and unsourced, when a quick look at the literature reveals hundreds, perhaps thousands of sources on the subject, with more than 300 citing the paper used as a reference. G4 wouldn't apply: it would have been deleted via speedy, not technically as a result of a deletion discussion. Also, if someone comes up with another article with more references and proper content, it wouldn't be a recreation; as I understand it, the content has to be quite close to how it was in the original article in order to be thought of as 'recreation'. Leisure society

Hi. In May 2011, you prodded Leisure society. In your rationale you stated: "Doesn't appear to be an encyclopedic topic. Article consists of synthesis and original research (such that it is), with no references to back it up."[4] That's a bit odd, since the diff clearly lists two books (Dumazedier, 1967; Seabrook, 1988) and a third working paper with an external link that contains a bibliography of more than 50 notable sources about the concept. Backlog drive

Therefore, they have released my created page for deletion I would now like to explain why it is important to give this person a Wikipedia page here. There is much interest in him and there are certainly people who like to more about this information would inform him at least the most important I have listed on Wikipedia. I have all kinds of relevances fulfilled as I have seen so there is no reason this person no Wikipedia page to enter. I call here's an example, namely the Wikipedia page of "Adrian von Ziegler" is constructed exactly like that of me. Both composers have become YouTube by "Famous". Hi Demise. I based my speedy deletion request for Sadžid Husić on an unsuccessful search for sources. Wikipedia has quite strict guidelines on who is eligible for a Wikipedia article, and the minimum requirement is that they have been the subject of significant coverage in reliable sourcesthat are independent of the subject. If you have some available, great, but they'll need to be attached to the article. I'm not familiar with the Adrian von Ziegler article, and in any case the fact that one thing has an article doesn't mean another thing should; see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS for more on that. Yeah the links that are in the article right now aren't up to the standard I'm afraid - see WP:SOURCES for the kind of thing needed; they have to be independent of the subject (so, not things like Facebook); in-depth (so, brief mentions aren't good enough), and from reliable sources (so, newspapers and books etc, not blogs or Twitter). The Facebook I understand that we can remove all the stuff're only 2 things and since it came on the information. But iTunes does so as a German media journal which publishes an article about him but should be relevant enough I think. The Dusseldorf Evening Gazette is not a blog, so this should be valid as relevance. The only one of the links currently on the page that is acceptable is the Dusseldorf Evening Gazette one - you need more like that, from different sources. Just having music on the internet for sale doesn't show notability; neither does having a YouTube channel. Even I've got both of those and I shouldn't have a Wikipedia article either! WP:EVADE

I'd like to point out that banned and blocked users do not need to have a completed SPI to remove the comment itself [[5]]. I plan on reverting you in a little bit provided you don't have a reason to believe that I'm wrong in my assessment. The behaviors and language is the same as previous socks and as I mentioned at the SPI the only reason I filed the SPU was to check and make sure we didn't have a new farm growing. The SPI is closed with no further action to be taken, they said themselves that it could just as likely be a result of canvassing, or a meat. I don't think they are stupid but the meatpuppetry policy also explicitly deals with it [[6]] where it states that in cases of doubt to treat them the same way as per the finding of this arbcom case [[7]]. Neither really. I'm sure it's someone who's up to some flavour of no good, but thought it would be better to leave the comment up and let the closing admin decide its validity, while still giving them the info. deOrphaning script

Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, Jim Cartar came to my user talk page and said he needed some help in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page (BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as Manishearth's OrphanTabs) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.

What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.
