Proposed deletion of Hellshock edit

The article Hellshock has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

fails WP:ATHLETE and WP:BIO; those wrestling organisations he has worked for are thoroughly non-notable and not properly professional.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ironholds (talk) 19:55, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please Note:

Before deletion this is a work in progress and several of the so-called "non-notable organizations" no longer exist and I am currently in the process of searching for information to add to this document and as a reference i have already found one website for a defunct group and my own website for the NAWGP, as well as the myspace page for it will be added soon.

Also this is a first in a planned line which will include many other "independent wrestlers" associated with myself, my company and others who are currently featured on wikipedia like Ron Killings aka R-Truth of the WWE, etc.

I also have access to pictures & video of various current and former WWE/WCW/TNA (etc) stars like Ron Killings and even the Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) to name a few, wrestling at local North Carolina "Independent" wrestling shows.

And furthermore while some of the wrestlers like Eric Adamz & Jimmy Parker are unknowns they have a unique history either from being trained by or being the son of a current or former star. Another planned page is on "Independent" wrestler Donny Steamboat who has worked as enhancement talent for WWE and was even involved in a "kayfabe" incident between Batista & John Cena a few years ago (photographic evidence of his role as security as seen on "RAW" is available). Local Ric Converse was AWA World Champion in a failed attempt at reviving the AWA.

And in closing: alot of the people I wish to cover while some might not have been seen live on WWE or TNA or any other tv program, these guys have had a impact on the careers on some of the talent who get did there, these guys have enhanced the rich history of pro wrestling maybe not as an individual but as a whole. Some of these guys may not be on National television but they have been on local television and all have had an impact on North Carolina's own unique history in pro wrestling. Rob McBride (former NWA/WCW enhancement talent seen of WCW Saturday Night) had an additional 15 seconds of fame a few years back for kissing a local news reporter on "LIVE" tv. This, however briefly, gained National attention on even CNN. We have "Edge" Adam Copeland undergoing physical therapy in the mountains of NC. We have Jeff Hardy who lives, was arrested and jailed before making bail within an hour of my home. He, his brother Matt, Joey Abs and Hurricane Helms wrestled on a show with me and that venue is a 10 minute walk from my apartment. Maybe we don't deserve our own individual page but we as a whole and this includes the other guys in the other 49 states who bled, sweat and paid the price be it permanent injury like myself or guys who have died traveling the nations roads for $10 to $100 some even for free to try to get to the WWE, deserve a spot. For every Matt Hardy who made it to the WWE there are hundreds if not thousands of guys who walked a similar path and fell by the wayside in the most grueling and thankless entertainment industry on the planet and they have earned their spot in pro wrestling history. ----- Hellshock70

When can I get a response to my statement above? ---- Hellshock70

…By the looks of your question, I think it would be best to have you log on to IRC. This way I can get others on #wikipedia-en-help to help you in addition to me. This link will direct you to a web based IRC client. This way you don't have to download anything to talk to us! We are waiting for you. AfD Debate edit

Hi there. I've been watching the AfD debate for the Hellshock article. While I understand it cam be frustrating to have your first article nominated for deletion, please be assured that this is not in any way a personal sleight. Wikipedia has various guidelines and essays covering what is and what is not suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The policies exist to ensure the accuracy and credibility of Wikipedia. All articles therefore, must be backed with references that show notability (otherwise literally anyone could write an article about themselves). These references don't have to be from online sources, but they do have to come reliable sources. As I said in the AfD debate, you are more than welcome to start a new article on the other subject(s), but I would urge you to let the current AfD debate run its course, and once again, try not to take it personally. All the best. Dylanfromthenorth (talk) 22:25, 3 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the link to uncyclopedia. As I'm sure your aware, Uncyclopedia is a comic creation. Wikipedia is well aware of any shortcomings it may have, indeed it has many pages and essays that look at the funny side of itself. Nevertheless, we are trying to build a credible, factual and reliable encyclopedia, something you are more than welcome to contribute to with well referenced articles about notable subjects. All the best. Dylanfromthenorth (talk) 01:59, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
