Portal:Nazi Germany

So, it appears from the MFD in question that you're synthesis is correct: People don't mind a Nazi Germany portal, they just don't want this Nazi Germany portal. What action would you propose I take (as a non-admin who can't view deleted content) in creating a truly neutral Portal. How long would you propose I wait, post-MFD, before creating a new page? I don't want to run afoul of CSD#G4, but I seriously believe a useful portal can be made of this. Achowat (talk) 17:52, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

That's a tough question. It's possible that the MfD will close as "delete, with no prejudice against recreation by a neutral, responsible editor" (or something like that), in which case you can get to work fairly quickly. If you do, I'd recommend starting from scratch (or at least using a different portal as a guide) to improve the odds of surviving a G4 or deletion review discussion. 28bytes (talk) 18:06, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Oh, there's no worry of that. I built Portal:New England from practically scratch, so I'd probably just use that format it like that. I have no sympathy for Naziism at all, but it seems a shame for such a potentially-useful Portal (with such a long list of High Quality content) to not exist. You think you're Nazi-ed out... I just deleted over 100 links to that portal, by hand (I think I need someone to explain how AWB works to me). That's being Nazi-ed out. Thanks for the comments at my RFA. Although I do enjoy editing and I do believe in the project, the outcome will help me decide what my future on wiki will be. Regardless of how I enjoy it, its kind of like if you worked somewhere and they told you "we think you do a good job but we don't trust you so we are never going to give you any support, we'll never give you anymore access or authority to do the things that need to be done, regardless of your level of competency in the subject". It sorta gives one perspective on whether their time is well spent and wether it would be better spent doing something else. Kumioko (talk) 15:27, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

I haven't commented there yet, but I'll say I disagree with the "never" aspect. I like to think that a majority of !voters at RfA ignore problems that existed prior to the previous RfA unless those problems persist. Odd edit

Hey 28, I know you feel a bit Nazi'd out, but could you take a look at this edit to my User talk? It just seems...odd, I guess. We have a brand new account, dropping a Template (and substituting it correctly) on to my user page, making exactly 0 other edits, and praising me for, it seems, the very, very little work I've already done for Portal:Nazi Germany. Now I'm not saying this smells or tastes like duck, but I think I see some webbed feet in regards to this Portals' last builder. Now I'm not the biggest expert on puppetry, sock or otherwise, so I don't exactly know how to procede. Am I just being paranoid, or is it reasonable to have suspicions? About the usurpation request Ndiverprime -> Ndiver

Hello,

I saw your comment for the usurpation request I made for the username Ndiver. I tried to contact the current owner of this username by writing a message on his talk page, the user ( Hillcrest98 ) also did the same and none of us get any answer up to now.

I have all the reasons to think that the user Ndiver will not use this username in the future, as the message to ask to keep this username was its first login since 2 years ! In such case, the usurpation request seems legitimate, especially when you consider that: 1) I created the username Ndiver on Wikipedia FR more than 2 years before somebody created it on Wikipedia EN, 2) as I said the user did not used it since 2 years and 3) that i would need this username to contribute on Wikipedia EN with a unified account (I'm doing a doctorate degree in zoology and I would like to contribute on Wikipedia for the species i'm studying).
