gearheaddeals page deletion

hello, I created this page earlier about this website that has become pretty popular recently and which i use frequently. I was hoping you could please restore it.

thank you Bmwm3guy (talk) 03:36, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

I can send you a copy of the contents if you like. As for reposting it, I think it will need some more sources/evidence of notability first. It doesn't have to have 63 sources like the Groupon article does, but a couple more (that aren't blogs) would definitely help your chances. 28bytes (talk) 03:47, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
I did some more research regarding the notability policy and I would like to add that it is notable because it received the notice mainly from autoblog.com (an article I posted as reference). Autoblog is the biggest automotive news site (owned by huffington post) in the US and it receives over 2 million unique visitors per month. Having a company that large take note of gearheaddeals is what is notable. There are also a few more independent news sources available and listed in my article. The information is there, relevant, and matches with the definitions described in the links you have sent me to so I feel strongly that it meets the criteria. I would like to emphasize in the article that gearheaddeals was the "First daily deals site for the automotive market" which adds to their notability. Bmwm3guy (talk) 12:26, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi 28bytes. You participated in Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive228#Richard Arthur Norton copyright violations, in which a one-month topic ban on creating new articles and making page moves was imposed on Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk · contribs). The closing admin has asked for community input about whether to remove the topic ban or make it indefinite at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Richard Arthur Norton: Revisiting topic ban; Should it be removed or made indefinite?. Cunard (talk) 08:56, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. 28bytes (talk) 00:16, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I need help to restore page Cynthia Basinet, which is deleted and can't be created because of creation protection. Help me please to unlock this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lambano Blosko (talkcontribs) 14:10, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Looks like User:SoWhy has given you a detailed response to that on your talk page. 28bytes (talk) 23:17, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

Testing with 28bot

Hey 28bytes. I saw some edits by 28bot, and I was wondering if you might be interested in joining our taskforce WP:UWTEST? We've just ended tests with SDPatrolBot and XLinkBot, plus we're starting tests with ImageTaggingBot and CorenSearchBot. From a WMF perspective, reverting test edits is a very important first point of contact with new editors, even if 28bot isn't at the scale of say, XLinkBot quite yet. ;-) If you're interested and want to talk more about how the testing works etc, let me know. Happy holidays, Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 00:16, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Awesome! Glad to hear you're game. The first step is to draft some new content to test and write down some notes on analysis for after we've collected data. We will put all of that here and when we're done writing we'll ping you for feedback. If you could point us to the config and/or source for the bot on-wiki, that will give us a clue about how exactly we need to mark up the templates for testing. (The basic gist of our method is that we use a switch parser function with a time modifier to randomly deliver one of the test options.) Thanks, Steven Walling (WMF) • talk 20:13, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
P.S. You are welcome to join the taskforce too. :)

copy of deleted page: "Steven alan"

May I have it please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikizad (talkcontribs) 15:09, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

It appears to be a clear copyright violation of stevenalan.com/about-us, so unfortunately I can't restore it or e-mail it to you. 28bytes (talk) 15:49, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Speedy delete.... USERNAME:rodgenss

Hi. I added the page Rodgen Stewart because Rodgen is well know in Manchester and is making it big. He has featured in all news papers in Manchester and he is constantly on the face off flyers and posters and billboards all across the city of Manchester. Rodgen has also organized loads of charity campaigns to raise money for cancer care. The whole point of this is that he has done all this and he is only aged 18. So please can you allow me to keep this article in your Encyclopedia It would mean so much. If you can't just approve it into your system like that ; please can you let me know what I can do to keep this on Wikipedia or what other information you need such as news paper articles etc

Thank You John Johnson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rodgenss (talkcontribs) 05:36, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. What you'll need is to locate third party reliable sources such as newspaper articles about the subject. Take a look at WP:Identifying reliable sources to get an idea what sort of coverage is necessary to meet the notability guidelines. 28bytes (talk) 05:44, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Revision deletion request

Hi. I'm not quite sure that I'm doing this right, but you name was at the front of CAT:REVDEL, so here goes.

User:Sarahsucks put the following on her talk page : diff is http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Sarahsucks&diff=467225708&oldid=467224508 after vandalizing Clay Aiken with much shorter versions of the theme. I think that revision deletion is appropriate for this blatant personal attack (against someone at her school, I am assuming), but maybe the talk page should be deleted? No matter what you decide, thank you. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 19:41, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Done, and the vandal blocked. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. 28bytes (talk) 19:59, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
Thank you! -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 14:30, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

A blocked user

I think your words would be better than mine for this blocked user, who has been having problems with IDHT. My comments on that page are pre-block.Jasper Deng (talk) 21:40, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi Jasper. I've been away on vacation but judging from Nyttend's unblock it looks like it got sorted out. 28bytes (talk) 15:38, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Deletion Request

My user talk page history contains the full name of an individual and I was wondering if it was possible to delete or redact the page history accordingly. Alternatively, I would not mind my entire account being deleted, but I believe I read somewhere that this may not be possible.

Thanks for your time! Ipodvideo6 (talk) 09:35, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Edit: And this is a problem because of that individual's privacy. Ipodvideo6 (talk) 09:36, 24 December 2011 (UTC) Edit2: privacy concerns* Ipodvideo6 (talk) 09:36, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Looks like another admin has taken care of it for you. 28bytes (talk) 15:34, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Content

Hi 28bytes, I was wondering if the information on wikipedia is to a certain copyright where I can use page content on my site, thanks AviationExpert  (talk) 17:51, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. Take a look at WP:REUSE, that should give you all the details you need. 28bytes (talk) 15:35, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
