Kept
editIowa class battleships
editThis topic passed its retention on February 6, 2012 for the article USS Kentucky (BB-66), which was demoted from being a featured article last November. So the topic currently fails criterion 3(a).--十八 06:31, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
You really need to clarify that. Why does the demotion of another article (USS Kentucky) mean Iowa class battleships must be demoted also?-Fnlayson (talk) 13:40, 26 July 2012 (UTC)- Nevermind, delisted from Featured Topic, not Featured Article. -Fnlayson (talk) 13:48, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- ...Yeah, to be fair, I didn't get that part at first either. I've put Illinois and Kentucky up for deletion, depending on what happens at the afd's this'll either be resolved there or if consensus is for keep then OMT personnel can work on Kentucky without feeling that all that work will be for nothing. Also, it would've been nice to have been forewarned that this was coming rather that to have found out about this via my watchlist. TomStar81 (Talk) 00:48, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
- The fact that you weren't forewarned about it last November is what's troubling. At the very least, if you had a stake in the topic, should you not have realized that once one of the article's in the topic loses its status that the status of the topic would also be brought up? Well, the consensus was to keep both articles, so work should get started on the Kentucky if you want to retain the topic's status.--十八 10:14, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've done a poor man's two step to see if the basic issues have been addressed, which should be enough to get this up to GA-class for the time being. If I can muster some willpower I might drill into the article and take a closer look at what we have to work with and see if more couldn't be added to it. TomStar81 (Talk) 18:33, 6 August 2012 (UTC)
- Comment The book report is also filled with issues for most of these articles. The topic really needs some work to be up to snuff. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 14:45, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- The 'book report'? What pray tell is that? TomStar81 (Talk) 03:15, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- The featured topic box has a few links in the top-left corner. Click on "report" and you will be taken to it. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 15:51, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- Some dead links and citation needed tags. Nergaal (talk) 16:27, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

- Comment - I made the final push to get Kentucky through GAN, so the topic is now fine as far as article ratings are concerned. The various tags highlighted on the book report still need to be addressed, though. Parsecboy (talk) 18:49, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- Keep Although Nergaal raised a good point above, the issue that brought this featured topic here was the sub-standard article USS Kentucky (BB-66), and now that Kentucky has regained GA-Class status there is no justifiable reason given by the nominator for delisting this featured topic. Accordingly, I am !voting that its status as a featured topic be retained unless the nominator adds an additional commentary for delisting consideration. TomStar81 (Talk) 22:44, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Guitar Hero series
editI am nominating this for good topic removal because it has been sitting on the WP:Featured topic criteria/Retention subpage since August 22, 2011, with a note to bring Guitar Hero (iOS) to good or featured status. As this has not been done in the almost 7 months since then, I am (reluctantly) putting this topic up to be delisted on failure of criterion 3.b. ClayClayClay 05:25, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- I wasn't even aware someone created the iOS article for this series. Taking at look at what sources might be there, I wouldn't have created it at all, instead merging the content to the existing mobile article with a couple more sources. --MASEM (t) 05:30, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- The current article is little more than a song list anyways, so merging the content would be easy and it would satisfy my concerns. One thing though, unless you have a hidden mobile article I don't know about, if you end up putting the content into the Guitar Hero Mobile series article, that article might need to be renamed (and refocused a little) because this product isn't branded "Mobile" like the others and AFAIK not part of that series... just something to think about. ClayClayClay 06:03, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- You're right, I'd dump it to the main series since GHMobile is a specific sub-series of it. --MASEM (t) 06:04, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- Comment As there has been no further discussion, I boldly redirected Guitar Hero (iOS). I think the topic should be kept, however there are a few dead links and other cleanup issues needing attention for the topic to stay pristine. —Andrewstalk 05:26, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Family Guy (season 5)
editI am nominating this for Good Topic Removal as two of the episodes included ("Boys Do Cry" and "Bill & Peter's Bogus Journey") have been delisted from GA status, thus failing criteria 3b. Glimmer721 talk 17:30, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose per Wikipedia:Featured_topic_criteria#Retention. Nergaal (talk) 19:37, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, new to this; how do we put it up for retention? Glimmer721 talk 20:35, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- If I did my math correctly, interested editors have until May 26 to restore "Bill & Peter's Bogus Journey" and until May 29 to restore "Boys Do Cry" to GA. Jay32183 (talk) 05:04, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- Have added this to the retention board, will notify the topic nominator and GA nominators for the two articles if they're different. GRAPPLE X 21:30, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Rivadavia-class battleships
editNominating per Negaal's comments Wikipedia:Featured topic candidates/South American dreadnought race/archive1. I personally think that having a topic composed of subtopics isn't against the spirit of FT, but community consensus could be against me.
This will also serve as an FTRC for Wikipedia:Featured topics/Minas Geraes-class battleships. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 11:31, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- Comment wp:FT? suggestion #5 states The topic does not overly overlap with a current good or featured topic.. I am not convinced that as long as the SA dreadnought race exists this topic is sufficiently notable by itself to deserve to exist as a complete overlap with the overview one. Nergaal (talk) 14:14, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- If there was a Battleships of Argentina FT, then I would agree with a removal. However, given that Rivadavia was the only class they built, having its own topic seems okay to me. Same applies to the other FT, unless I can't read then that was the only battleship class Brazil built. Wizardman Operation Big Bear 15:09, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- That is correct – they started a third ship but sold it. I suppose there could be a Battleships of Brazil article based on that, but realistically all of that content is already in South American dreadnought race. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 22:41, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- I'm for keeping this one; to me it serves a completely different purpose than the topic that it overlaps with. This, along with 99% of the ship topics, is an index of a particular class much in the manner of a list-class article. It allows an editor to see the other, similar articles to the one they've just read; or to browse topic-by-topic like an overview of classes. The dreadnaught race is more like chapters of a narrative, showing the development, stage by stage/ship by ship, of a relatively confined and exhaustive arms race. This would be like the difference between a topic listing, say, all of the nuclear warhead types, and another detailing just the nuclear arms race between India and Pakistan—one is a dry index; one is a narrative. I know this sounds bizarre but I think it's beneficial to readers to have both of these retained. GRAPPLE X 04:46, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

editArticle "Yeah!" has been delisted as a good article for a number of months now; not sure how that slipped by. It needs to either be worked on to reach GA status again or the topic faces delisting under criterion 3b. GRAPPLE X 18:55, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

editWith two article having been demoted from GA status, topic fails criterion 3b.
