Question from Illanser (09:13, 16 August 2023)
Hello Vacant0!,
I am a member of an Organization and I would like to ask you about creating a Wikipedia Article. So, how can an organisation creates Articles about their products and Company and have the pages semi-protected (If needed)? Do we need to come in contact with MediaWiki Foundation? Thanks in advance.
Yours Sincerely, Illanser --Illanser (talk) 09:13, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Illanser:. As a member of an organisation, you cannot directly contribute to the article because of conflict of interest. We already have a guideline on things like that: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.
COI editors are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly, and can propose changes on article talk pages instead.
- If you are creating a new article, notability of an organisation is determined by the Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) guideline. COI guideline states that you should use the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process for creating articles. Articles are usually semi-protected when there is disruption or vandalism. You do not need to contact anyone as long as you read these two guidelines, the most important part is probably WP:COIEDIT. Vacant0 (talk) 10:10, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Vacant0! Thanks for your reply! But, I have one more question, is it acceptable if someone uses Wikipedia to get information, store it and then use it to create a Publicly -Free- Product? Illanser (talk) 12:10, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- All text on Wikipedia is licensed under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license so you will have to follow that license whenever using text from Wikipedia in other documents. Vacant0 (talk) 12:15, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- We have already investigate that, and we are aware of this page and its contents. The content (Wikipedia Articles) that we may gather, experiment, change or use will not be used -Mainly- for Documents but for, research. We generally planning to use these content for AI Research and as Datasets in order to train our AI Models. We have done some evaluations and it came to our attention that the content(the 'Articles') that Wikipedia has, is high-quality providing, some details, but not too many to overload or overflow our AI Models, thus resulting in a pleasing result, that can be used and safely released in public, with a high Accuracy Score. The content that Wikipedia provides is more than enough to safely start training our AI Models (As of now: Pre-Training Phase). We just want to know if we can Take Articles from the Wikipedia, Extract, and use the Publicly available information to Train our AI Models so we can have a high-quality result. Illanser (talk) 12:33, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think that you'll get the correct answer if you ask the question at the Teahouse. From what I know, you should just stick with following what the license says. Vacant0 (talk) 12:41, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
- We have found what we need Here. Thank you for your time. We really appreciate that. Hope to come in contact with you again in the near future. Have a nice day! Illanser (talk) 12:45, 16 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I just want to say, great article! I will try to review it in the coming days. I saw it when I nominated by own Yugoslav article. Great to see other contributors getting involved in fixing Yugoslav-related articles. There is so much information that is lacking... Especially for the later SKJ. But of course, from what I gather, you're a Serb and have more access to sources than I do. I have created some good articles, but others are waiting for inspiration, such as the Committee for the Preparation of the Democratic and Programmatic Renewal of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia and the Central Committee of the 13th Congress of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia.
Again, good article, I'll try to review it when I get time! — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheUzbek (talk • contribs) 16:11, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
- @TheUzbek:, Thank you for the comments. I do agree that there is a lot of information lacking and missing, it is up to us to fix this. I mainly picked up that article because it looked really bad and the article was completely unsourced, despite its significance on the rise of Slobodan Milošević. Feel free to review it, if you want and when you get time. Good job on Presidency of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia (I'd review it but it I don't have enough time to review long articles). Slobodan Cvetković photo upload from 16.10.2023. help needed <3
User Nika2023 and I have been asked by the Ministry of Economy to change the current minister's photo on Wikipedia. Since we are new and unsure about how all of this works, we are in desperate need of assistance from an experienced editor. It would be of great help if you could restore the photo that our colleague uploaded, or if you could explain to us what we need to do to make the change stay on the article. The photo was taken by the ministry's camera and at the minister's request for the purpose of changing the photo on Wiki. Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated. All the best. Prometej42 (talk) 08:29, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Prometej42:. A special permission is needed from the ministry in order for the image to stay on the Commons. Please follow these instructions Commons:Volunteer Response Team. Cheers, Vacant0 (talk) 08:34, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you very much! I hope everything will be okay this time. Cheers! Prometej42 (talk) 09:44, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Prometej42: I do not think that you got it right. We need a VRT license from the ministry for the image to stay on Commons. Considering that you are not the author (copyright holder), you should follow the steps here: Commons:Volunteer Response Team#If you are NOT the copyright holder. I would also recommend not editing Cvetković's article as you have conflict of interest with him, this is strongly discouraged. Please follow the steps and once a VRT license is obtained, I'll replace the current image with his official portrait. Vacant0 (talk) 18:08, 17 October 2023 (UTC)

- @Kalvium: You should be able to edit at your sandbox (User:Kalvium/sandbox) considering that no restrictions have been set on your account. Vacant0 (talk) 10:14, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for replying. But I am unable to upload my images on sandbox. It opens a pop-up saying : You need administrator access to do so" Kalvium (talk) 11:32, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- You can upload images via this link: Wikipedia:File upload wizard. If the image is freely licensed (your own work, CC-licensed, etc.) click the blue "Upload your own or a freely licensed file" button. If the image is non-free (copyrighted, not your own work) click the white "Upload a non-free file". Read the instructions after that and you'll be able to upload a image. - Hey, I have just posted an article on wikipedia. When will it get published ? Kalvium (talk) 13:23, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

Started DYK review for 8th Session of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Serbia
I started the DYK for your article here, as I said everything is good, the hook just does not grab me as written. I think there is great drama and other things that could catch the interest of readers, but it needs a new or improved hook. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 23:02, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
- @MtBotany: Thank you for taking a look at the DYK. I've left a response on the hook there. Cheers, Vacant0 (talk) 17:24, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
Article assessment
Hi there, just to let you know that you can update the rating in the shell and remove the ratings in the separate banners, e.g. [1]. Hope this helps — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:42, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- I thought that the ratings-per-wp were supposed to stay, but alright, thanks. Having only one class in the banner shell makes more sense. Vacant0 (talk) 20:58, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, this is WP:PIQA, should hopefully be simpler than having to maintain separate ratings! — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:00, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

Question from ZharAlina (15:06, 1 December 2023)
Hello! I have a question about this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scuola_Italiana_Italo_Calvino
I know that i can add additional information to this article or edit it. But can I add this article in another language? How i can do it?
Thank you! --ZharAlina (talk) 15:06, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, @ZharAlina:. If you want to translate the article in a different language, go to Special:ContentTranslation, click on the blue "New translation" button and type out Scuola Italiana Italo Calvino. Choose the language, translate the article and that is supposed to be it. Before doing all of this, make sure to read the policies of article creation on the wiki you want to create the article on. Miroslav Ivanović
I know this is probably not your topic of expertise, but you write a hell of a lot about Serbian politics! I recently was able to scramble some sources to write an article about Miomir Grbović, the second to last leader of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia. I managed to do that thanks to a publishing house of the Soviet Central Committee, but I have had no similar luck with Miroslav Ivanović. There is no information on this man online - or at least searchable through Google. He has some mentions in the archives of Slobodna Dalmacija.
What am I asking for. First, do you know of any Serbian newspaper that has an online and free archive similar to Slobodna Dalmacija's? Or do you have any tips on any site where I can access Serbian newspaper articles for the period 1990-1991 online? TheUzbek (talk) 17:17, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- @TheUzbek: I'll take a look at this tomorrow. Vacant0 (talk) 19:02, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- @TheUzbek: This is the only source I was able to find about Ivanović: https://arhiva.glas-javnosti.rs/arhiva/2001/03/11/srpski/R01031002.shtml. Newspaper archives do not seem to go back to the 1990–1991 period. Vacant0 (talk) 21:38, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late reply! I've been busy in real life!
- Yeah, that's the only source I can find online too! Its seems that information on him is only available on non-web news archives, which is pretty annoying! So how to solve this conundrum? TheUzbek (talk) 08:20, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
- I found a source! :)
- I was able to locate the news archives of Borba. However, I cannot read Serbian and I cannot copy-paste it to Google Translate either. So I was wondering if you could help? If you press this link you'll be sent to the news archive. If you in the year field pick "1990" and in the date field pick "28.05" you will get the newspaper article. I have discerned that at least page 1 and page 3 mentions "Miroslav Ivanović" by name (if I have discerned correctly, there is even a photo of him on page 3).
- Would you help me get some info? Is there any information on his birth year or year of joining the LCY? :) TheUzbek (talk) 11:35, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- @TheUzbek:
- Page 1: The 14th extraordinary congress was held in the Save Centre, Belgrade on 28 May. It was decided that on 29 September there would be the Congress of Democratic and Programmatic Reform of SKJ. 989 delegates were present, 521 were absent at the 28 May congress. The congress did not last very long. Ivanović said that he wanted general elections by the end of 1990. In 1990, Ivanović was 35 years old, a lawyer, and the president of OK SK of Budva.
- Page 3: Ivanović is mentioned as an attendee. That seems to be a picture of him, if the caption is correct. Vacant0 (talk) 20:05, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, the search continues! :)
- I feel like I'm getting a bit closer.

Question from Gedditor (16:20, 1 March 2024)
Hello, I translated an article from German to English, using the "Translate page" function to translate side-by-side. I got this error when trying to publish: "Automatic edit filters have identified problematic content in your translation. Filter hit: Content Translation Edits" --Gedditor (talk) 16:20, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- I published it as a draft. Draft:Franz_Coronini_von_Cronberg Also, you're still displayed as my mentor as of 1 March 2024. Is that a bug? Gedditor (talk) 16:29, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- I don't see any problems with the article itself but you should add inline references to everything that is currently unsourced (everything inside the Infobox and the Life and Family sections). See WP:V. And yes, I'm no longer a mentor, but my guess is that you haven't gotten a new mentor yet and because of that I'm still assigned as your mentor. Vacant0 (talk) 13:52, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
Question from 00101984hjw (05:07, 3 March 2024)
Hello, Vacant0! I recently created a new article by translating its original corresponding Korean article. However, I was able to move the draft into Wikipedia's mainspace without going through any Afc reviews. Did I unintentionally bypass Wikipedia's guidelines for article creation or are articles created through the translation tool considered exceptions? --00101984hjw (talk) 05:07, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- You did not bypass anything, AfC is optional but recommended for beginners. I assume that the article you translated is 19th-century peasant rebellions in Korea, right? If it is, you should add inline references to the parts of the article that are unsourced. Once you add the missing references, you can remove the {{More citations needed}} maintenance template that is at the top of the article. Vacant0 (talk) 12:07, 3 March 2024 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted
Hi Vacant0, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! The Night Watch (talk) 19:29, 18 March 2024 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:Logo of the Conservative Party of Norway.svg
Thanks for uploading File:Logo of the Conservative Party of Norway.svg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kys5g talk! 14:43, 12 April 2024 (UTC)

- @Ceisiwr You’vr been adding unsourced and fringe material to articles. I’ve given you a welcome message with links to our policies and guidelines. I don’t think Wikipedia is a good fit for you. Doug Weller talk 19:18, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for this correction. An uncaught typo and the cut-and-paste function can do much unseen damage, combined. CJCurrie (talk) 13:20, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Adoption
Hi Vacanto, I saw you on the list of available adopters, and I was wondering if you’d be willing to adopt me? I’m currently mostly just doing RCP, but I’m interested in content creation/deletion and NPP, and other random stuff too. However you want to do this (if you do) works with me. Cheers, GoldRomean (talk) 21:01, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, @GoldRomean:. I can adopt you, considering that I'll be active again in the following period (if you check my contributions you'll see that I've largely been inactive during this year). If you need help with anything, let me know. Vacant0 (talk) 10:36, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from Will M Davis (09:39, 8 August 2024)
Hello, Please help me with... I attempted to edit the section "Sexual Misconduct" under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maharishi_Mahesh_Yogi), with quotes from a referenced author and journalist Tony Anthony who concludes Maharishi was a life celibate. I feel my edit is a published and referenced (with ISBN #) view point which objectively contradicts your posting of Judith Bourque's claim Maharishi had sex with her and 16 other women (reference 2010 documentary, David Wants to Fly). My post appears to conform with other contradictory posts, for example, George Harrison's view that Maharishi did not make sexual advances toward Mia Farrow. You quote Harrison, "We were very young" and "It's probably in the history books that Maharishi 'tried to attack Mia Farrow' – but it's bullshit, total bullshit." So I don't understand why you can not publish my comment below and add my reference to your footnotes, please?
In the book "A Joy-Filled Amazement My Eight-Year Spiritual Journey with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi," by Tony Anthony, copyright 2022, the author describes in his chapter, "The Celibate Life," how Maharishi "expected celibacy of the members of International Staff" at the Seelisberg Capital of the Age Enlightenment. "It was not a casual announcement- with Maharishi it never was- it was an absolute requirement...The first great monk of our [Maharishi's] tradition, Shankara, was often quoted. More than a thousand years before, he created the guidelines for the role of a Brahmachari, the Sanskrit term for celibate monk." Thus Tony Anthony, educated at Syracuse University, a distinguished Viet Nam War veteran, and a journalist who received an Atlantic Monthly writing award, concludes that Maharishi was a celibate monk and a "guru who shows you the way to God." Anthony, Tony (2022). A Joy-Filled Amazement My Eight Year Spiritual Journey with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi., Montgomery Wood Publishing, pp. 143, 146. Nomination of Fields of Mistria for deletion
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fields of Mistria until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.Fields of Mistria work
As someone with interests in (and mainly edit) video games and railway related content, I was literally planning to create that article sometime by end of August! (even if its a stub) I never thought it would be notable enough to be on Wikipedia, especially since its still in early access. I am also really impressed at it because it's at almost 20k bytes! I drafted it in [my userpage] planning it out and just started it. Looks like it's the new Stardew Valley (at 70k bytes). I will also send a barnstar shortly.
Anyway, thats a really amazing article!! Good work! JuniperChill (talk) 19:46, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- Luckily enough, the game has actually received coverage from reliable sources, and it will probably continue getting coverage in the coming period. You do not see 100,000 downloads in a week for an indie game every day. And yes, the game looks very cool, even though I haven't tried it yet. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 20:15, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- Just like when I planned to create My Time at Sandrock, but that was created a month before I started editing. I did make substantial edits to that however and did like almost half the work.
- I do play both Sandrock and Mistria, and until June/july this year, managed to improve Sandrock without playing that. But yeah, both games are really fun and cozy to play! I also can't believe there's an NPC with my name in Mistria. JuniperChill (talk) 20:40, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- @JuniperChill: If Fields of Mistria indeed gets AfD-ed you can remove the barnstar you gave me and I'll bring the article over to my userspace and hopefully return it to mainspace in the coming period. If you find any newer sources by any chance, feel free to add them (this also goes for other editors). Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 11:57, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

Nintendo edit last year
Sorry to bug you over a routine edit you made last year, but it's a real head scratcher. Nintendo has a [non sequitur] tag referring to controversial video games as "simply games", and looking back in the history I see that you changed "pornographic" to "simply" during a script-based edit. (Special:Diff/1149162953) Do you have any idea how this could have happened? Thanks! QuietCicada chirp 22:14, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- The User:Ohconfucius/script/Common Terms.js script did that. For some reason, the script replaces the word "pornographic" with "simply" as seen on
regex(/\[\[(?:pornography\||)(porn|pornograph(y|ic))\]\]/gi, 'simply');

DCWC submission declined
Hey Vacant0, and thanks for your contributions in the Developing Countries WikiContest. I've had to decline your submission of this FAC review as it is unfortunately too short to award points for. Please see the relevant section of the scoring rules for more information. However, it looks like the candidate has not yet received a source review, so I discussed it with another coordinator and we agreed that your submission could be accepted if you conducted one. I hope you'll consider that, and please let me or another coordinator know if you have any questions! —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 15:30, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- That's fine, and thanks for informing me about that. I did notice that a source review was not performed for that FACR, so I'll do it myself then. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 15:33, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures' soundtrack
Hello! I've noticed that you've been improving the game article over the last few days. I could see that you removed a passage from it, due to the lack of sources to support it. I'm referring to the paragraph explaining that certain pieces of the soundtrack were taken from The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones series. I myself have tried to find internet sources to this effect in the past, without success. However, I did notice that the game's own credits did mention the episodes in the series from which the tracks in question were taken, and the respective composers of these episodes. This can be seen in this YouTube video at 5:28. I'm not sure if this represents an acceptable source on Wikipedia, but I wanted to point it out in case it might be useful to you. Sorcier du Lac (talk) 04:48, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, we can use the credits as a source. I've added the material to the article. Thanks for spotting that in the credits. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 11:14, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- You're welcome! :) Sorcier du Lac (talk) 20:11, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
Question from Ademolastreet (01:38, 14 September 2024)
Hi Nick,
I created an account in English but would be interested in editing articles in French (I am a native French speaker). Is there a way to make both French and English contributions?
Thanks Marine --Ademolastreet (talk) 01:38, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, @Ademolastreet:. The French Wikipedia is located at www.fr.wikipedia.org Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 08:59, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Karađorđeva šnicla
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Karađorđeva šnicla you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Rollinginhisgrave -- Rollinginhisgrave (talk) 09:01, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
In addition to the fact that tabular data provides a quicker and clearer summary of the basic information about the dish, which is important because we want the article to be user-friendly, using an infobox helps search engines position and display the article better due to the metadata. Based on all the aforementioned, I would kindly ask you to conduct another analysis to determine whether it was necessary to remove the infobox from the article on Karađorđeva šnicla. -- Немања 93 (talk) 05:26, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Infoboxes are not required in articles, but that is a good reasoning. I also had a look at our Food GAs and I see that infoboxes are present in most cases, so I'll restore the infobox but only with parameters that are properly sourced in the article. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 11:14, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Got it and thank you. Немања 93 (talk) 11:48, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
