Overall: Confirm all the basics, article was promoted to GA and nominated within the period, but this nomination has been overlooked so far. You did very good work here. The article well deserves GA status, we just need to figure out how to make Milošević's rise to power hook-y. Maybe something about the name calling at the session with Milošević calling Vllasi a 'cunt' and Vllasi responding by calling Milošević "a liar and a cheat". Another possibility is the editing of the broadcast to remove critical speeches. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 22:56, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

What about
ALT 1: ... that the broadcast of the 8th Session of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Serbia was manipulated by removing or delaying critical speeches of Slobodan Milošević (pictured)? Vacant0 (talk) 17:22, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
@Vacant0 I do think that is a bit more intriguing. Anyone else want to jump in with an opinion? I have a slight editing suggestion that you can take or leave:ALT 2: ... that the broadcast of the 8th Session of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Serbia was manipulated by allies of Slobodan Milošević (pictured) to remove or delay speeches critical of him?
My edit does fly a little closer to editorializing, but I think the drama of the moment is what might hook readers. My proposal for the name calling might not be as good.
ALT 3: ... that 8th Session of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Serbia included an abusive tirade by Slobodan Milošević (pictured) against a delegate who would not support him?
Side note: what I've read in Milosevic : a biography by LeBor that you cite in the article about the abusive episode is fascinating. It is on Archive.org and anyone with an account can read it. After the close I might see if I can properly add a link in your references so others know it is available online. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 23:09, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
I disagree with adding the link because that would ruin the referencing style, titles for the bibliography are not linked. ISBN's and ISSN's are enough. Vacant0 (talk) 23:24, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
No problem. Glad I mentioned it so I could avoid making a mistake.
Back to the DYK. What is your feeling on the best hook? 🌿MtBotany (talk) 18:17, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
I prefer ALT 2. Vacant0 (talk) 19:51, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Okay, I've put in ALT 2 into the template and marked this as approved. I think we're go to go here. Once again, I think you did great work on the article. Facinating topic that is great to have in Wikipedia. Anything else anyone see that I missed or made an error on? 🌿MtBotany (talk) 20:53, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
