Glimpse of Artcile on Katrina Kaif

I have edited the introductory passage in the article Katrina Kaif. I have done it with utmost care, keeping in mind the harsh criticism showered upon me.

I want to you to give your valuable opinion, regarding my version of the edition and about further changes needed. This is just like a sample and preview.

I will proceed in a truthful way, if I have your consent.

- User: Tejas.B

Article: Katrina Kaif

I have decided to edit the article on Katrina Kaif, following the lines of articles on Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Kareena Kapoor etc.

You have given me a glimpse of my mistakes in the previous edition regarding the same article, and I'll try to make the article in a very encyclopediac and appealing manner.

I will include suitable references and reviews by Taran Adarsh of indiaFM, rediff and indiaglitz, like in the articles mentioned above.

Hope you guide me proficiently.

KK article now tabloid

Does Katrina Kaif still look like an encyclopedia article to you? Achitnis (talk) 10:54, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm not much into Bollywood, but I can safely say that the things like Mini-Skirt Issue and the "Salman's Slap" don't deserve entire sections dedicated to them :) utcursch | talk 10:57, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that's the issue. The whole article is now a tabloid page, much of the stuff is basically advertisement material for the linked-to sites, and I can't even bear reading this stuff anymore. Do I just roll back to before he started editing, give him a warning on his talk page? He doesn't appear to be the kind to understand, though. Achitnis (talk) 18:11, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
You can just start fixing the article with links to WP:UNDUE and WP:BLP in the summaries. utcursch | talk 07:53, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
I spent an hour trying to rework the article, but in the end gave up and just removed the stuff that was clearly out of place, unsourced, non-credibly sourced or just gushy fanboy stuff. Will add WP:UNDUE and WP:BLP references as well on the talk page. Achitnis (talk) 09:36, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Thank you

what is going on?

Kindly check the article Singh. User:GauthamSingh User:MrKeshan User:Rebel49 seem to me are same user or sock puppets. Besides, the ref. given (ref no. 2)[1] is not a reliable source (it is more like a blog). The name singh was used by only two communities, Rajputs and Sikhs, until 1947.

something weird is going on wiki, something whimsical.Ajjay (talk) 17:06, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

The article is on my watchlist; I'll keep a watch. utcursch | talk 09:31, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Dear Utcursch, I agree with ajjay about the source used as being highly unreliable. I just rv the Singh article and also feel these are sock puppets. Also Harrybabbar does not seem to want to change his ways as is seen in his reply to your blocking him, on his talk page.

I want to sincerely thank you for helping the Singh article, and bringing it up to this stage where it can one day become a decent article with some more work.

After having seen your excellent editing of the "Sebastian Champappilly" article I was wondering, if it isnt too much trouble, could you please edit one of my other recent article. It is an indian Law related article titled Christian Law of Divorce in India Please give me suggestions on how to improve my future articles. Hoping for a swift reply, HolyFist (talk) 05:26, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Sockpuppet

Dear Utcursch,

Someone put up a concern on my page, which I reverted, that I may be a sockpuppet of Ajjay. Can't this be resolved by simply seeing my IP address? Gorkhali (talk) 02:41, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

The user seems to be a sock himself/herself. I've dropped a warning on the person's talk page. utcursch | talk 03:51, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

USER: Ajjay (Vandalism)

Hi Utcursch, this user Ajjay is a vandal, his fundamentalist pov needs careful examination, thanks, Dave Green

Please see dispute resolution. Ajjay has a pro-Sikhism viewpoint, but he is certainly not a vandal. utcursch | talk 12:16, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks utcursh. I had actually decided to leave wiki, but on second thoughts i decided to forget the insults thrown at me and remain on wiki. Afterall wiki cannot afford to lose a gem like me, considering there are so few (hehe). Thanks for your kind remarks.Ajjay (talk) 12:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I think you and 90.196.3.244 ("Dave Green") should go for formal dispute resolution, if discussions don't help solve the disputes between you two. Editing Wikipedia can be frustrating sometimes, when you meet users who don't share your viewpoing. Neither of you should take these things too seriously :) utcursch | talk 12:31, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi,

AmritDhari isn't necessarily Khalsa or (KeshDhari), an AmritDhari has taken an oath to observe the 5k's plus other things like avoiding meat eating, alcohol etc. beyond the requirements of a Khalsa Sikh.

An Udasi, on the other hand does not necessarily have to observe the 5ks as their Guru (son of Guru Nanak, is considered the true heir to Nanak)

Singh again

I am really sorry to keep bothering you Utcursch. It seems Gauthamsingh is a sockpuppet of Harrybabbar (just a hunch). They keep telling me to provide references which I have always done in the past (most of the references were provided by yours truly), yet they provide nothing. It seems the Singh article is going to get a bit messy after all that work.

Thanks again for your help on the article.

Vandalism by Ajjay

Hi, I was hoping if you could kindly watch the user above as he has already had one serious warning from admin.

Also on the subject of Islam & Sikhism he suggested on the discussion page I am adding info on Mughals which is not true.

I would point out that much of the information on the article is make belief with respect to Guru Gobind Singh. (lack of references)

Thanks D.Green

Sorry utcursch, i have to use your talk for replying to this guy.
Well you are going around shouting , i am removing fundamentalist views. what do you want me to do (you are obviously referring to me). Change the truth to suit your pov?? Lack of references!! How will they be cited when you continuosly remove them [2] [3] and mess up cited material[4][5]
And here is an example of your double talk[6]Ajjay (talk) 09:36, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Jatt Sikh

If I have added this sentance in Jatt Sikh article, whats wrong in this why you keep on removing it from the page.... Punjabi Jatts of Punjab (Sikhs) and Jatts (Muslim Jatts) of Pakistan Punjab are mostly of common clans and share same clans, language and culture and vastly differ from Hindu Jaats/Jats of Haryana, Rajasthan & U.P who share same clans, language & culture between themselves Jatt Sikh surnames/clans are common with Jatts of Pakistan....and we are different from Hindu Jaats/Jat of Haryana,UP, Rajasthan etc...an you ask me for reliable refrence... oh Jatt kithe dhoonde reference can anyone help me in this... Nice article. neutral too. I think we can list it for an entry to appear from the article on the main page of wikipedia. How is it done.ThanksAjjay (talk) 06:23, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

no,no i wasn't referring to fa. i was saying some type of entry could be made to appear on main page . like in the did you know section or something like that? Ajjay (talk) 06:31, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Ha, Thileepanmathivanan is back again. This guy is a master sockpuppeteer. Called me a Sikh extremist sometime ago, after I pointed out that many of the votes were by his socks. That's the only time I've come across him/her. utcursch | talk 07:28, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
I also dropped his/her sock, User:Spy89, a warning for troubling another user. utcursch | talk 07:44, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

That explains it. Master sockupeteer is perhaps an understatement for someone with 130+ known socks! Thankfully, all those were blocked earlier today and a community ban imposed; but I am pretty sure Mohun (talk · contribs) is his latest active account and surely will not be the last. Hi please do article on controversy

Hi Utcursch, I have been very impress with the way in which you write articles in a balanced and fair way -very impressed. As you are a trusted & fair wikipedian I think it would be brillant if you wrote an article on the proposed selling of Guru Gobind Singh's Armour [7] [8] [9] [10] [11]. Please also view this video [12]. It could be written along the same parallels as Punjab plume controversy or any other better style.--Sikh historian (talk) 21:14, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

The topic is better suited for Wikinews -- the controversy may find a mention in the article on Guru Gobind Singh, but a separate article is not suitable for Wikipedia (see WP:NOT#NEWS). utcursch | talk 12:07, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

I observed that you removed that piece of nonsense. :-) That's cool. But what if these anonymous IPs tamper with the article once more. Intense vandalism was one reason why the article got deleted the first time around. And these people are bound to target it once again. -Ravichandar 10:45, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Some advice

Dear Utcursch: I received multiple notes from Mangostar ((talk) 21:02}, regarding the copyright for a site I developed, using pictures I myself took, and posters I designed, for the Riverside Shakespeare Company, for which you gave me an Newcomers Award back in December. I just need advice about how to prove the photos I took are mine. I did, I believe, all the right things, followed Wiki procedures, etc. etc., but now it seems that a dozen of my photos & posters will be deleted from the site. Can you advise me on this? Thanks much, Weimar03 (talk) 13:38, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Would you take a look and comment?

I know that you are currently busy. But, I know you to be one of the thinking editors who have a lot of energy (a rare kind of people, as far my experience goes), and I found out that you are a member of the Indian Cinema Project. Therefore, I am here to ask for a favor. Would you take a look at the article on Riya Sen? I am trying to get it to a good article status, and have put a lot of hard work into it. But, I haven't been able to draw much review since I overhauled the article (of course with help from a quite a few fine editors). A review would be very helpful. I promise to be good and try to address every issue you raise. Aditya(talkcontribs) 22:57, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
