DYKUpdateBot error

There's a DYK entry on the main page right now for Feizi, which I created, but the DYKUpdateBot for some reason did not add a DYK notice on the article talk page or give DYK credit on the user talk page, as it normally does. Could you please check it out? Thanks! --Zanhe (talk) 18:06, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Looks like your DYK credit disappeared as collateral damage when hooks were being swapped around (by a human). I'll add the credits. Shubinator (talk) 18:26, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing it so quickly! --Zanhe (talk) 18:36, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

DYKCheck

Thanks for making DYKCheck. It is awesome, and so, by extension, are you. ▫ JohnnyMrNinja 23:08, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Thank you :) Shubinator (talk) 00:09, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

Germans

Hi. I found an error in the article (see photo). Copernicus was not a German, he was from Poland. --Top811 my talk —Preceding undated comment added 16:04, 12 May 2012 (UTC).

DYKHousekeepingBot might be stuck

The last update was over four hours ago, and new hooks have been added to the nominations page in the interim, and I believe an approval or two (though I can't be sure about that). Does the bot need to be given a nudge to get going again? Thanks as always for your help (and for that bot!). BlueMoonset (talk) 16:39, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

DYKUpdateBot stuck?

The queue should have been updated 50 minutes ago, but wasn't. Hadn't realized that when I added the above note. Maybe both bots need restarting? Many thanks! BlueMoonset (talk) 16:52, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Unfortunately I'm away from my computer at the moment, so I can't access the Toolserver. I'll be back at my computer in around and hour or two and will restart both bots then. Sorry for the delay :( Shubinator (talk) 17:31, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for letting us know. I've posted a status update to the DYK talk page. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:40, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Important note: as of not quite 15 minutes ago at 18:14 (UTC), the contents of Queue 5 were manually copied to the main page. However, the queue also remains in place—it has not been cleared—and no updates/notifications have been sent out. Please tread carefully when starting up the queue! Another admin may have come along in the interim, or things may remain as I describe them. Thanks! BlueMoonset (talk) 18:28, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

I have manually done the notifications on article talk pages, but I can't figure out how to give the credits to nominators and article writers/expanders. I have updated the Template:Did You Know clock, but I seem to have messed that up. It's showing 00:00 instead of 16:00. Stopping now before I make more of a mess. Yngvadottir (talk) 18:59, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Cool, sounds good. Just got back to my computer, so I can fix anything that needs fixing. Thanks! Shubinator (talk) 19:01, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
And there we go, everything's back to normal :) Shubinator (talk) 19:30, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Great! Thank you so very much! It's such a relief to see everything as it ought. :-) BlueMoonset (talk) 19:34, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
No problem :) Shubinator (talk) 19:35, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Rejected DYK: Twinings

Thanks for that. My enquiry about DYK noms where the nom process had not been completed was largely ignored. How many other untranscluded noms have slipped through? --Redrose64 (talk) 16:15, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

A decent few. I'm doing what the bot does to find old noms; taking the noms here, discarding the ones that are still on T:TDYK, and evaluating the rest for rejection. Yeah, the bot intentionally doesn't reject old noms, and there's no official process for cleaning them out. Occasionally someone goes through; I know Rjanag did a pass when the bot was going through BRfA. Shubinator (talk) 16:24, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Possible Queue 6 late substitution or addition

You an administrator who is quite active at WP:DYK, so I wanted to call your attention to a particularly timely hook for the next queue Wikipedia_talk:Did_you_know#Possible_Queue_6_late_substitution_or_addition. You may want to make a late addition or substitution.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 17:27, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Engvar

Hi Shub. Some time ago you were asked to apply an editprotected template at the U2 article. It is evident that there has been some misunderstanding as another English variant had been used at this page, as evidenced from the template still at the article TP. However the misunderstanding arose, the consensus seems in favour of restoring the former variant and replacing the current template. Perhaps you would care to comment at Talk:U2#Flagcruft. Regards. RashersTierney (talk) 00:47, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Replied there. Shubinator (talk) 01:32, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. RashersTierney (talk) 10:52, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

DYKCheck option, perhaps

Is there an option that can be added to the individual user's .js script that would enable DYKCheck to specifically check for inline citations for all paragraphs in an article? That is to say, that if an entire paragraph had no citations, the checker would put that in its summary? Maile66 (talk) 13:55, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Replied at WT:DYK. Sorry for the delay; I was traveling and had less Internet access than I'd hoped. Shubinator (talk) 05:11, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

DYKUpdateBot failed to update 2 hours ago

Hi: I looked at the template for Queue 5 and removed characters amidst the admin's signature, but I don't see anything in the bot's contribs indicating it has sent out a distress call and I have no idea how these things work, including whether what I found was the problem. Hoping you are online ... Yngvadottir (talk) 18:18, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Looking into it. Shubinator (talk) 18:40, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Both bots back online. Thanks for the notice! Shubinator (talk) 18:54, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

DYKHousekeepingBot seems to be down

At least, if it's the one that updates the list of total DYK nominations and approved DYK nominations. It appears to have made its last update on Saturday, June 23 at 12:55 UTC.

Thanks for anything you can do to get it going again. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:06, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

I've started the bot up again. Looks like more connectivity difficulties between Toolserver and Wikipedia... Shubinator (talk) 13:29, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! Good to have it back. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:40, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
No problem :) Shubinator (talk) 14:43, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Looks like it's down again, after a week of good service. Last update was Monday, July 2 at 21:12 UTC. Given the problems that Wikipedia has had today in terms of availability, I'm not surprised about any connectivity difficulties. Fortunately, DYKUpdateBot was still working at the subsequent midnight (UTC) update. Thanks in advance for getting it running again. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:06, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

I've started it back up again. Yeah, looks like connectivity issues. Thanks for letting me know! Shubinator (talk) 04:11, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome. Selfish reason on my part: it saves me time to see which dates have approved DYK noms, since there are so few right now (17 of 191 total). So thank you for starting it up! BlueMoonset (talk) 04:21, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
