You do know what POV is, don't you? You are assuming that since you call the sport Football, that everyone reading the article must understand the meaning as well. All I'm trying to do is say which type of football in the lead is because there are several types of football played all over the world. I suggest you self revert. This is not a case of POV or not to me, it is more of what is common use or not and I see no problem in just football (as discussed many times earlier at different projects). Whatever you want to call it, POV, BIAS, or whatever, the point is understood. Your POV or Bias assumes that everyone reading the article understands the true meaning of football in this context. You're forgetting that WP:ENGVAR applies here. If the World Cup(s) in question happened in the United States or Canada, I could understand your qualms, but they happened/are scheduled to happen in Germany (where the sport is called Fußball) and Brazil (futebol). First off, ENGVAR will not apply because it's an international tournament. Just as I was told STRONGNAT does not apply to 1994 FIFA World Cup held in the US. So basically two different editors are using two seperate rationales to push the same bias. So either it's an international tournament or we use the date and spellings of the home country, but it can't be both. Good grief. I've seen it all. Secondly the article needs to only say in the first sentence which "football" is played. All other references beyond that can be simply football. That's all that needs to be done. re:Timestamp

Hi. You are absolutely right I could check the stats myself and update the timestamp and I will consider doing that in the future whenever I have the time. The problem is that when I am doing this as I go through my watchlist I do not always have the time and I should not have to do it on my own, but I should definately talk to the contributor. I have actually been thinking about making a information-template that I can use for these cases instead of making personal comments every time (I think we can make personal templates?). Something has to be done because the articles cant say "as of 11 January 2013" when there has been goals added far after that, but perhaps I have done it the wrong way and taken the easy way out just to revert. RE: Ryan Giggs page, Centuries

Hi thanks for the message, i could be getting the centuries millenia mixed up, but i have always been under the impression that the 21st century started on 1st january 2001 as there was no year 0, which would put the years 2000 and 2001 in different centuries no?

I know a big hoohah was made about 2000 being the next millenium, but i think i am right in saying the 21st century started in 2001, either that or im talking rubbish both are possibilities i guess.

Felicia Day

I agree that we should keep Felicia Day's birthdate with a reliable source, even if Felicia Day claims it is incorrect. The problem is, the citation ([1]) leads to a broken page. I can't find the citation on archive.org or by searching wired.com with google or with wired's own search engine, so I can't tell if it is a reliable source (as opposed to, say, just a blog post or a reader's comment to a news article). As such, and combined with her claim that the birthdate is wrong, I still think we should remove her birthdate from the article. What say you? --Yamla (talk) 21:13, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

UCL from the 96 - 97 season until this season - that's 18 seasons, correct. 95 - 96 United were in the UEFA Cup, knocked out by Rotor Volgograd - 19 seasons. 93 - 94 and 94 - 95 were in the UCL, knocked out by Galatasaray and in the group stages respectively - 21 seasons. 92 - 93 were in the UEFA Cup, knocked out by Torpedo Moscow - 22 seasons. 91 - 92 were in the Cup Winners Cup, knocked out by Atletico Madrid - 23 seasons. 90 - 91 were in the Cup Winners Cup which was won - 24 seasons in Europe. Re: Previous FIFA World Cup meetings

Hello. I added the "Previous FIFA World Cup meetings" sections after seeing this: Talk:2014 FIFA World Cup/Archive 1#Argentina vs Nigeria, right after the draw. I also see a discussion at Talk:2014 FIFA World Cup#Previous Encounters. So as far as I can tell, already User:DerBorg and User:MarcosPassos agrees with me. I think they are interesting because many teams have recent meetings. Besides Netherlands v Spain, there are e.g. Argentina v Nigeria and Ghana v United States. Also most match previews in major media will include mentions of previous meetings, no matter how long before it was. I remember before Argentina v England during 2002 World Cup group stage, all the mentions are about previous meetings including 1986 and 1998. What does one have to do with other? It's just human nature to revisit history. I mean, why do people (including Wikipedia) keep mentioning Group D having three previous winners when Uruguay haven't won a title in more than 60 years and England haven't won one in almost 50 years? Bristol Rugby Transfers

Why are you getting rid of the Transfers 2014-15 work for Bristol Rugby, which I was the one who created the article first. Deleting the article wastes all the time and hard-work I did? My Lexis subscription doesn't seem to be working, so I cannot verify it at this moment unfortunately. As for how Arsenal qualified, an article in The Sun on 9 May 1998 states:

Which confirms Arsenal's place was assured after they won the league. It did not matter if they lost the cup final, or won it because their participation remained intact. In fact it's rare a club who completed the double qualified by winning the cup because it's usually the last game of the English football calendar. I can only think of one time – 2002. Excuse me if I come off as rude or anything, but please explain to me how this is a pointless template. It does take up more space in the code, but it makes it easier to edit for novice editors or editors who haven't been using Wikipedia for long. I don't understand. Nearly all of the drivel that was in the initial template's gone, and I'm failing to see any "complicated" parameters in the template. Besides, all of the parameters are optional; if the card and subs parameters are left blank for example, it doesn't leave any of {{{this}}} or any holes in the code. Looking at it from a relatively inexperienced user's standpoint, I'd say I'd have a hard time figuring out where all the table brackets |} end or when and where to separate the columns to put in cards and subs templates, or when and where to put in the line-ups file or insert a new table to include the man of the match and the match officials, and all the style code that comes along with it. Regarding the starting line-ups, you switched Oscar and Neymar in the picture. If I'm correct, Neymar started on the left wing but during the course of the game he cut in, Oscar drifted wide to the right and Hulk switched wings to the left.
