You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 23:52, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

DYK for 13th Sri Lankan Parliament

Materialscientist (talk) 00:03, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Tamil Eelam includes Sinhala and Muslim majority areas?

That could be problematic. Is the plan to drive out these people for a continuous Tamil Eelam? BlueLotusLK (talk) 00:01, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Hospital shellings

How's Eelam working out bbz? I know it's just around the corner! Your hospital shellings add up 349 deaths -- I assume the total will be 50,000 when you're done, no? Even that is a conservative figure unfortunately.. The actual number is 60 trillion. Regards, BlueLotusLK (talk) 07:45, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

You said "Sinhalese and Tamils have little in common" -- that's not true

"There is very little interaction between the two groups and they have little in common. Their language, religion, culture are all different."

Sinhalese are only nominally Buddhists. They worship Hindu Gods like Vishnu alongside Buddha. My Mother has several images of Hindu Gods alongside our Buddha statue. Culture is not all different either. Sinhalese wear the same clothes as Tamils -- Saram, Sari, etc. Sinhalese eat some of the same food as Tamils -- Indiyapam, rice, dried fish, etc. Sinhalese have adopted the Tamil dramatical form as Nadagam. The Sinhala script is similar to the Tamil script as they both come from the original Brahmic abugida script.

The only real difference is language.

And btw even though I disagree with you on certain political issues, I don't have anything against Tamils themselves. I'm not a supporter of Mahinda Rajapakse either -- I'm for the UNP. I'm opposed to your war crimes allegations etc. because they are harmful to the image of Sri Lanka -- if you want to deal with these issues come to Sri Lanka instead of spilling it all out in London. Have you ever been to Sri Lanka? BlueLotusLK (talk) 03:26, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

I have never said "Sinhalese and Tamils have little in common". I did not create the British Tamil Forum article. I am not a member of any Tamil organisation. And I was born in Sri Lanka. You are clearly under the misapprehension that I am somebody else so please refer me to WP:SPI.--obi2canibetalk contr 17:18, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

You said it right here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sri_Lankans_in_the_United_Kingdom Why don't you address the points I made here instead of 'sigh' and denying. I'm trying to be nice to you. BlueLotusLK (talk) 17:34, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

And you created an article for: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Jananayagam That's far worse than the British Tamil Forum. BlueLotusLK (talk) 17:42, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

You say you were born in Sri Lanka but your userpage says you're an "Eelam" Tamil. Isn't it you who's under the misapprehension that you're somebody else? Where or where does this Eelam exist and what countries recognize this? BlueLotusLK (talk) 18:44, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Wow! You have a better memory of my actions than I do. Or have you been trawling through my contributions? I have my own stalker;-)
In the comment on Talk:Sri Lankans in the United Kingdom I was talking about Tamils and Sinhalese in Britain, not Sri Lanka. I know that in Sri Lanka many Buddhists worship at Hindu temples but in Britain very few Sinhalese worship at Hindu temples frequented by Tamils. Similarly, Sinhalese don't attend cultural events (musical concerts, sports festivals etc) organised by Tamils in Britain. This is primarily because all of these events are dismissed by the Sri Lankan embassy as LTTE fund raising events. I have witnessed Sinhalese protesting outside these events rather than participating in them.
Elections are a particular interest of mine (as you will have noticed when you trawled through my contributions), so when I heard that a Tamil, Jan Jananayagam, was standing for election in the country where I live, I decided to start an article on her. I didn't do it because she was a member of any particular Tamil organisation.
And finally, you say Sri Lankan Tamil, I say Eelam Tamil. Shall we end it there?--obi2canibetalk contr 19:19, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused you these past few weeks. I'm going to leave Wikipedia now. I'm sad that Tamils and Sinhalese don't get along in Britain. :( You've done a great job on the articles for the various Sri Lankan parliaments. I hope you hold no hard feelings. BlueLotusLK (talk) 20:50, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm sorry to see that you've retired. I hope you change your mind as I'm sure you can make positive contributions to Wikipedia.--obi2canibetalk contr 14:27, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Obi2canibe! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 3 of the articles that you created are currently tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
