A Train and Guettarda being sysops you both can add yourself...(this seems to happen often enough that perhaps a note should be added somewhere..) Galobtter (pingó mió) 12:43, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Eh, I appreciate the sentiment, but you have a point. I've added another line to the header. While I was there I added them both. Primefac (talk) 13:35, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks very much. I looked through the description, and I wasn't entirely sure, so I thought it better to ask. Guettarda (talk) 15:38, 6 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Annie_Sinha_Roy really makes me question your understanding of notability; and Anti_Romeo_squads_in_uttar_Pradesh was speedy deleted as A7 and A10? (though 8 months ago) Galobtter (pingó mió) 08:46, 24 January 2018 (UTC) (non-admin comment)Reply
Galobtter-I understand your concerns about Annie Sinha Roy(The impetus came from here and I didn't/couldn't believe that it was wrong on notability). As a more recent exhibit that I have recently re-read and understood the policy I would link this. I will be intentionally conservative when accepting drafts. If you have any more questions you can always ask — [[ FR ]] 09:47, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
On hold - I'm not overly thrilled with the idea of a full third of your created articles being deleted (though at this particular moment it's only one fourth). I'm putting this on hold until the current AFD closes. Primefac (talk) 15:25, 24 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Request withdrawn-I have myself been thinking this over and have come to the conclusion that I am actually ineligible to join. Thanks for the time. I'll be back sometime in April with more experience. — [[ FR ]] 09:01, 25 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Primefac: Thanks for your comment. Although I haven't created a lot of articles (only 1 article), I still know and understand the relevant policies and I would like to help out. I do a lot of deletion tagging and cleanups to drafts so I still think I would be a good candidate to review drafts. Pkbwcgs (talk) 10:50, 4 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please add me to the project because I am an experienced editor. I submitted a draft for AfC, and noticed the backlog was huge. Naturally I can't review the one I submitted, but I can help the general backlog. --GRuban (talk) 18:32, 15 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I was going by ASCII sorting, which places an R before an r, which is what AWB uses and annoys me every time but I've kind of gotten into the habit. I'll be running the numbers later this week and the list will likely be re-sorted then anyway. Primefac (talk) 13:04, 26 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't plan on using this regularly, but occasionally get asked to help with the backlogs, or find situations where an editor is struggling with the process and it would be easiest for me to review a draft (or to decline drafts of pages previously deleted at NPP). power~enwiki (π, ν) 19:53, 16 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Probation: fairly new, but you've created a few articles on your own already that seem fine, and seem to have s grasp of the policy. I'm a bit concerned with the issues being raised on your page re: reverts: this is less than typical when dealing with anti-vandal work, but because content work is different, I'm fine with giving you a go. Come back at the end of March and ping me or Primefac, and we'll review and make it permanent if there are no issues. TonyBallioni (talk) 14:08, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm active on the live IRC channel, it would be helpful to be able to reject WP:SNOW-y drafts. I don't intend on regularly reviewing articles just yet (although I'm sure I'll do one every now and then), but certainly when someone asks me to look at their article in IRC it'd be nice to not leave them hanging around when their article is woefully incomplete. -- Thanks, Alfie. talk to me | contribs 13:13, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not done you only have about a month and a half of active editing, only have 360 mainspace edits, and of those, 300 are automated (and given the Huggle breakdown, I'm assuming most of it was vandal fighting and not related to content policies as CSD or AfD might be). Come back when you have more experience dealing with our content policies, and more time (I would wait at least two months). TonyBallioni (talk) 13:18, 21 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm not declining this, just musing (for other patrollers to contemplate) but I'm a bit hesitant to have you reviewing the drafts of the people you're helping out, because there's too much potential for a "well, it's okay, and I don't want you to feel bad" move. However, there is no obligation for a user to use the AFC process, so you would be perfectly able to move their drafts anyway if you felt they were of sufficient quality.   Not done for now, mostly due to a lack of evidence of procedural knowledge of the various criteria required for assessing a draft's suitability. Primefac (talk) 16:03, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
In patrolling new accounts and Special:Newpages I frequently come across pages created by new users who have no idea what they are doing. In many of these cases, the pages are nonsensical, pointless, or have no hope of ever becoming an article. Today's example; User:Pop4462/sandbox. With a backlog of >2500, I don't think the backlog needs to be made even longer by such pages. I would like the ability to review (and decline) these requests via the helper script, as this is the 'correct' way to handle such requests. I've read the reviewing instructions and the criteria and feel I meet them. Thanks, Hammersoft (talk) 16:56, 1 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now. While I do appreciate your interest, your overall track record with draft applications recently is problematic. There is no requirement for drafts to go through the AFC process, and you're more than welcome to move your own drafts (or other's drafts) to the Article space if you feel they are ready. I don't have any prejudice against a new request for access in a few months, but now is not quite the time. Primefac (talk) 00:41, 4 March 2018 (UTC) As an administrative note, I removed two comments that I believed were likely to instigate more heat than light, though I do appreciate them being made and they were taken into consideration prior to their removal.Reply
User:Primefac User:TakuyaMurata's editong has been problem free for some time now. They have an interest in clearing math topics from Draft space after creating a nice list of all math drafts. I recently requested for my user page to be deleted (just remembered that) ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ --

  • Comment thank-you for your interest. With just 34 edits in the past 365 days and just over 500 edits in all time I don't believe you yet have the experience with deletion and content policies required to handle AfC yet - frankly it might be overwhelmingly. I also don't see any recent participation in WP:MfD or WP:AFD or use of WP:CSD. Can I suggest helping out in those three areas of draft and page management first to gain some relevent experience for AfC? Turn on Twinkle and start looking for junk. Slow down there Sergei Gutnikov. We have multiple criteria for joining AFC, and a user needs to demonstrate that they meet them all (or at least to a reasonable degree). If you're this defensive about just gaining access to AFCH, how will you react when you have dozens of new editors asking why you've declined their "obviously totally notable" drafts? (talk page watcher), not an admin. Sorry, but I suggest that this should be declined. Makro does not seem to have any clear idea of what content should be in Wikipedia, and what should not, nor of the relevant policy and practice; two recent creations, Nathan Shaw and Sabrina Schloss, are now at AfD (here and here), and neither seems likely to survive – for good reason. I find this comment particularly concerning. The history of sockpuppetry is perhaps far enough in the past. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:32, 28 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Out of 14 articles, 1 of them is actually just a draft layout for Algo Centre Mall that was deleted once the new layout was adopted, and there's also a WP:TOOSOON article on Mark Barberio that was deleted in 2009. @Newroderick895: -- -- -- is talking saying you need more than 500 article edits. That means you have to have made 500 edits to articles, not just, for example your userpage. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but it's a little early to request this right. Get comfortable with policies and guideline for a month or two and then you will be considered. Yes. It is called "Main" because it is the main space, the articles, what we should be trying to build instead of losing our times at drama boards of all sorts. L293D ( • ) 14:00, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

It's not just edit count that shows experience - see WP:EDITCOUNTITIS - but mostly comprehension of Wikipedia policies. Edit count is a quick way of getting an idea of experience, but is nothing close to proof of any kind. I've seen once a user who made 336 useless edits in his sandbox just to increase his edit count. Real experience is demonstrated in other kinds of things (AFDs, RFCs, and stuff). I'm a bit concerned about your behavior at this AfD, for example. L293D ( • ) 14:28, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
That was before and today as of this article, that article stayed intact because once on josh axe, i copypasted without knowing, i have improved long so after the AFD, i have a understanding on some policies. Newroderick895 15:04, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment-@Newroderick895:--As evident by your behavior at PFac's t/p and over here, if you are so aggressive to well-established-users, who are advising/replying to you in good faith and so defensive about the retrieval of a minor permission, how you're going to behave in a proper and civil manner, when the creators of every draft rejected by you, returns and ask you queries after queries, for they firmly believe that their startup/garage-band is the most notable thing to happen in the universe post Big-Bang?! And, frankly, I'm not seeing any minimal understanding of meta-issues from your editing-patterns.So, try after about 3 months of AFD participation and good content creation.Best,~ Winged BladesGodric 04:42, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I am interested to be an AfC reviewer. My previous request was declined because of lack of content creation. However, I created two articles since then and contributed to content in some articles related to the Commonwealth Games so there is more content creation since the previous request. just to add, I wanted to help because I am seeing too many articles taken to Afds which can be saved if the authors can make it proper at first as well as too many articles that are deleted where they should not need to be created. --Quek157 (talk) 19:05, 5 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not done--This's an IAR decline, despite the lack of a mop.You were indefinitely topic banned from all deletion processes, for a spurious understanding of our notability guidelines along with other issues at this ANI thread i.e the community don't have any trust in your understanding and actions as to the evaluation of notability of an article-subject, (which is the sole primary task of AFC).~ Winged BladesGodric 11:37, 3 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Good day Sir, I'm here to apply for the Afc reviewer, I'm currently putting up and updating infoboxes of people/celebrities (mostly Chinese, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong ones at the peak) and buildings, including articles which I am familiar or associated with.
Not done. You have over 500 mainspace edits but they are all tiny minor edits of a few bytes each. The clean up work you do is very important, but it is not of the kind that demonstrates that you have the experience and knowledge of policies and guidelines for reviewing drafts. I am interested in joining your 'Articles for creation' program and help with your rising backlog, I literally just reached 500 main edits and decided to try and apply. But if I am not accepted at first I will understand, I can always try again in the future haha.

Have a nice day,

James James Richards 03:27, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

500 edits is just one of the requirements. A good understanding of deletion policy and what is an acceptable answer is even more important. You might find User:Legacypac/Cleanup Guide useful in developing experience in these areas. Legacypac (talk) 06:59, 5 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not done These are all minor minor edits, mostly unsourced content additions, and no use of edit summaries. Please address these issues and gain some experience as a Recent Changes or Vandalism patroller first. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:47, 5 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not done per this and that; user shows a tendency towards not paying suitable attention to detail when performing relatively routine tasks, which leads me to believe that the appropriate care will not be taken when more important tasks are undertaken. Primefac (talk) 15:56, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
How long do you think I should wait to demonstrate that these issues have been resolved? Septrillion (talk) 16:54, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Primefac: Septrillion (talk) 16:54, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
It's not about time, it's about a demonstration of ability. You've made some unnecessary mistakes in the recent past, and while no one is perfect there needs to be some indication that mistakes are the exception rather than something to be expected. Primefac (talk) 17:03, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have been reverting vandalism for a while now. Over a month ago, I started patrolling Special:NewPagesFeed several times a day - cleaning them up, expanding them, moving them appropriately, adding maintenance templates to them, requesting for them to be merged, and/or tagging them for speedy deletion/PROD. I would really like to become a part of this project and help out with the AfC backlog, which is why I'm requesting to become a participant.--SkyGazer 512 What will you say? / What did I do? 20:02, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Good CSD log and good 17 articles created with zero deletes. You should ask for New Page Patrol WP:PERM as that is closely associated with AfC. Legacypac (talk) 20:28, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Legacypac: I'm actually planning on requesting for the New Page Reviewer right sometime in the near future. However, it seems like they prefer requesters to be active AfC reviewers, which I'm not right now. :)--SkyGazer 512 What will you say? / What did I do? 22:46, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Also, I think it would probably be best if I reviewed new pages for about another month or so before applying, just to make sure I'm solid on CSD.--SkyGazer 512 What will you say? / What did I do? 22:48, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Very good. I expect NPR flag will be an AfC requirement at some point soon as we try to align the processes. Legacypac (talk) 05:05, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
will existing Afc reviewers be given the NPR flag (I know and read through the entire conversation in the project page) based on (a conseusus reach) criteria instead of asking at WP:PERM. And what are the key difference in criteria for Afc and NPP as on paper they are the same. These need not to be clarified here just food for thought --Quek157 (talk) 11:39, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now. Based on your talk page you have a delightful temperament, which is important for an AFC reviewer, but there is very experience in any of the "content quality" areas (XFD, CSD, WP space, etc) and a lot of your edits are automated (or semi-automated). I suggest you hang around WT:AFC for a while, maybe join in some discussions, and ask again in a few months. Primefac (talk) 15:56, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I have knowledge about criteria. I know which article should be reviewed or which should be not. I have good knowledge about WP:MOS policy. All the article should be from the neutral point of view. I could help wiki to review the perfect article. Thank you, Siddiqsazzad001 <Talk/> 12:31, 10 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Siddiqsazzad001, a few thoughts/questions. First, how does MOS relate to the draft process? Second, what do you mean "perfect article"? Third, how confident are you in your abilities to find copyrighted content, given your previous block for posting copyright-violating material on Wikipedia. Primefac (talk) 15:32, 14 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Primefac: Well, WP:MOS knowledge is needed for checking draft article style. Perfect article means that an article should be from the neutral point of view, notability (WP:GNG) and must be reliable sources. I confident about my abilities to find copyrighted content with Earwig's Copyvio Detector and Google search engine. Thank you, Siddiqsazzad001 <Talk/> 11:52, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Probation - just as a note MOS issues are not reasons to decline (ever). Take it slow, ask questions, and we'll re-visit the issue in 2 months. Primefac (talk) 12:51, 15 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Printed Rainbow, Talk:Red_Dead_Redemption_2#Ubl, Talk:Venom_(2018_film)#Antihero, and the whole thing with File:October Official Poster.jpeg. None of these discussions individually are really all that serious (and for the most part you are civil in them). I suppose "argument" was too strong a word (amended above), but a lot of angry/upset newbies come through AFC and sometimes it feels like you're just banging your head against the wall trying to make them figure out our guidelines. Primefac (talk) 11:48, 28 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Primefac: 1. Talk:Printed Rainbow#Content removal: I was a noob here back then and didn't knew much about policies of inclusion of content here. So this was a total noob nonsense from my side. Though the information I had provided there is absolutely correct but what can I do if does not exist in reliable sources? Therefore, I dropped the conversation. 2. Talk:Red Dead Redemption 2#Ubl: I just wanted to concise the source code but he didn't want to, therefore I dropped the conversation. All he did was back up himself with WP:STATUSQUO and say that redirects doesn't help but the fact is that anybody didn't take offense on that. Redirects are the backbone of all the wikis. Maybe someday he will understand. 3. Talk:Venom (2018 film)#Antihero: Please watch the second official trailer of the film and you will understand why I wanted that word to be in the lead but they didn't want to, therefore I dropped the conversation. Some users just don't want to except noob's opinions. 4. File:October (2018 film).jpeg: Krimuk2.0 was forcing some other kind of poster but I was just defending the old one. He was saying that I should listen to him just because he was an experienced editor. I don't believe such claims. No one is too much experienced in this world. Let me give you a fresh example from current affairs and maybe you too will wonder. Read this. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:11, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Since you pinged me here (for whatever reason), I read your above statement regarding the discussion involving myself and I believe you still haven't understood how discussions and consensus work here. I used STATUSQUO (and sadly I had to do so far too frequent) to make you seek consensus for your change, since apparently you found the miniscule change important enough to edit war about it. After you at least tried to seek consensus by posting on the talk page with multiple people stating that the change is useless and not futureproof, you went ahead stating that no clear consensus has been reached (although consensus to not change was there), and used it as confirmation for you to go ahead and re-insert your edits. Even if there was no consensus, default is always retain. Plus, I was not required to achieve consensus to retain and provide a reasoning for that if others already told you not to change it. Yet, i later did (adding on top of Masem's previous technical explanation), but somehow that is missing from your above points. Following a second pageblock (both of which I had to ask for), we were warned by @Amorymeltzer to not edit war again or be blocked, yet you did it again and again and were reverted by a different user yet again. If Amory had noticed you continuing to edit war past his warnings, you would have certainly been blocked. You didn't drop the conversation because you accepted my opinion, but because you were at or over the edge of being blocked. You are deliberatly lying about topics, badmouthing other editors like me, @Winged Blades of Godric, GSS-1987, and Adamstom.97 so to make it appear as if you concluded discussions in good faith, which is not the case in most, if not all of these discussions. Lordtobi () 10:37, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't really want to get involved, but it looks to me that this editor hasn't really learned anything from the issues that have been brought up here, including the one that I was involved in. - adamstom97 (talk) 11:40, 29 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to put myself forward to have access to the rights so I can work on getting in some of the articles in the queue that deserve it, particularly with ACPERM now in so presumably with a bigger submission rate.

I have the base 500 article edits - this is a general mix of gnome edits, content edition, some picture selection and addition as well as a fairly recent participation in rolling back vandal edits in recent changes.

I also participate actively at AfD, which has given me a fairly in depth training in the various specialist notability policies, as well as making me a firm believer in having another look at them if at all unsure on a consideration.

I'm aware I'm only just over the 500 mainspace edit criteria, so if you want me to hold back for a bit, any other suggestions on focus, etc, at the same time would be appreciated. Nosebagbear (talk) 21:25, 24 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Nosebagbear, I'm curious about the statement at the bottom of your userpage that indicates you are what some people would call a "hard core" inclusionist. Given that determining notability is one of the main tasks of AFC, how would you justify these two seemingly disparate views? Primefac (talk) 16:49, 25 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Primefac: - that is somewhat an indication of my earlier (as in, half a decade) rather aggressive viewpoint on the issue. While I would definitely still be somewhat on the inclusionist viewpoint, "hardcore inclusionist" would definitely be somewhat out of sync both with my judgement and also my AfD voting record (about 37% keep). I try, and hope that I succeed, to be very energetic at not letting my preferences on an issue prevent me from judging the evidence. The AfD for Operation Market Sweep that began yesterday I would much prefer to be Keep. But none of the sources and arguments for that actually support it (to the degree I can see thus far).
If nothing else, the afc-request gives me a reminder that I need to actually make sure my userpage properly represents my views. I'll leave it as-is while the process is ongoing, however. Nosebagbear (talk) 18:51, 25 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

I would like to help improve potential new articles and help new users understand the notability requirements. I believe a good AFC experience would encourage new users to keep editing, even if their article ends up getting deleted. I would also like to help new users understand how to find reliable, independent sources. I have created and improved many articles, and have extensive experience with AFDs. I understand the notability requirements. I would take this responsibility seriously and strictly follow all guidelines. I would not approve articles if there's any question of notability. I enjoy improving articles and working with new users, which I think would be beneficial in this role. Lonehexagon (talk) 04:12, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I handle a lot of drafts because of my participation at MfD and due to monitoring Category:Promising draft articles.   Question: How does having a signature that one dislikes relate to the ability to accept or decline drafts?--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 16:32, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't, and I don't think anyone was really going to take it into account. The notice would have been better left at the user's talk page (which I did, not seeing this comment first). Primefac (talk) 17:01, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
We've got the signature policy/guideline which BrandonALF clearly hasn't read or has decided to not follow - that calls into question their ability to follow important policies and guidelines like WP:BLP, WP:CORP, WP:N etc when reviewing a draft article. Nick (talk) 17:23, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I'm not an admin and I'm not saying the Brandon necessarily should become an AfC reviewer, but imo their sig shouldn't count that much against them. There are so many policies on Wikipedia that somebody may miss a few sometimes, and this particular one has nothing to do with AfC reviewing - what would be more concerning is if BrandonALF refused to change their sig after being told to.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 17:49, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
  •   Not done. There are just too many issues here to make me feel comfortable accepting you into this project. Your AFD record is subpar, half the pages you've created have been deleted for one reason or another, and on the technical side of things it looks like there have been some major issues with not paying attention to what you were doing when you were editing templates. Primefac (talk) 02:15, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
I meet the technical requirements for a AfC reviewer, and I understand there is a backlog right now of over 1500 articles (?!!). I've written several articles of my own, and I have now thoroughly read over the AfC reviewing instructions. I will be glad to defer to my more experienced comrades and to consult with them in those instances where I have doubts about a given draft article: I grasp that AfC must be done correctly, and am interested in sharing my knowledge as an editor with those who have shown that they are wiling to offer their work for review. A loose noose (talk) 00:22, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not done, does not meet minimum editing requirements, and the AFD log is rather distressing and shows a lack of understanding of the notability criteria. Primefac (talk) 02:15, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Okay, then, just so I know: what requirement am I not meeting yet? (I have over 500 edits and have passed the 90-day test). Also, it looks like my request got to you on an off day: it looks like you usually either accept or offer probationary acceptance to applicants, but decided flat-out against three of us in a row today. Was it... maybe not us?? (I wonder... If I had never done AfD, would you have viewed my request more favorably? AfD is always hit-or-miss, and I believe I showed some initiative by at least putting my hand at play, please do not punish me for trying to explore or learn). — Preceding unsigned comment added by A loose noose (talkcontribs) 09:33, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
You didn't even manage to sign your post here. I would suggest taking the comments Primefac left entirely at face value, gain more experience and come back in a few months time. A bad review is considerably more problematic than no review at all, it is important reviews are conducted correctly and I don't think you're just quite at the level where I'd trust you to make good reviews >90% of the time. Nick (talk) 10:22, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Regarding the edit question - it's 500 article-space edits, not 500 total. And no, you did not catch me on an off day; one of the requirements is a demonstration that you understand notability criteria, and a <50% "success" rate at AFD shows that this is not the case for you. Primefac (talk) 11:41, 9 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

To elaborate on my accidental usage of the AFC script prior to posting here, I had reviewed the pages for getting started, including this page, which outlined the processes - primarily installing the script. I had done so, found the script to work, and later added the participation userbox to my user page. After reviewing the participants section, I found that a formal request to join is necessary, and here I am! --HunterM267 talk 18:09, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
The script is supposed to be designed so that even if it is installed, it doesn't work unless your name is on the list of participants. I'm guessing it has something to do with this bug? Anyways, it looks like you made the right choice for the two drafts you declined, so I wouldn't worry about it. :)--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 18:17, 10 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Probation, which will be evaluated in 3-6 months. Being on probation only means that you can be removed from the list for any reason without prior discussion. This is mainly due to the lack of recent edits (only 291 in the last year, and barely 100 in the preceding 3 years). Primefac (talk) 06:10, 5 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I have about 4,000 mainspace edits. So far, I have made one good article (Prague uprising) and one that's up for review (Bratislava Working Group) so I have some experience with content creation. Recently, I have started getting involved in AfD with some success, so I have some idea of notability concerns, but I will ask for a second opinion if there's any doubt. I voluntarily draftified one of my own creations (Draft:Reidio Guth nan Gàidheal) when I realized that it did not meet the notability criteria, and nominated an article that I created for deletion (Participants in the Prague uprising) because it was a duplication of an existing article. I have also made a few reviews at DYK and have one DYK credit, for Bratislava Working Group. I'm friendly to new users and happy to answer questions. For these reasons, I think I'll be a net positive here. I've read and understand the directions. Catrìona (talk) 00:10, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but this isn't an issue to be solved with a bulldozer. I personally could probably do 100 reviews in the next hour, but they would be incredibly bad reviews and would do nothing towards the advancement of the project. There are reasons we have criteria for joining the project, mainly to do with editors who do not understand what we're looking for in a good draft. I'm not saying that you are one of those editors, but I do see a lot of concerns expressed on your talk page and with your previous editing. Primefac (talk) 14:00, 26 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Primefac here is the diff where he is requested to move an article to draft space to circumvent AfC and here is the result. Aside from that, I'm concerned for similar reasons as Primefac and also because I'm not sure you're familiar with the ever-changing policies and consensus regarding notability given the very little participation in the last two years and virtually no afd participation in as long and prior afds were not at all aligned with consensus.   Not done based on my interactions with you yesterday, I think you are too new and don't have a strong enough grasp of our policies to be giving advice to new editors yourself. I suggest you spend some more time in mainspace before contributing to maintenance processes. TonyBallioni (talk) 15:14, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hello, I've recently applied to be a member for this WikiProject but I withdrew from the application after John from Idegon reminded me that 500 edits meant 500 main space edits. Ever since then, I've been working on the RTRC and helping unregistered users with their drafts. Sometimes putting useful tags, fixing their grammars and welcoming them to Wikipedia. After Abelmoschus Esculentus invited me to participate in this WikiProject, I gladly accepted the invitation and went ahead to reread the instructions and other guidelines for this WikiProject. Now, I understand that I have been blocked for disruptive editing when I had just started to edit Wikipedia but ever since, I've gotten myself a mentor and greatly improved my editing skills. I look forward into hopefully achieving membership at this WikiProject. Yanjipy (talk) 14:53, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Not done. There is no indication that you have much (if any) experience on the "administrative" side of the project, i.e. there is no demonstrated understanding of the policies mentioned in the reviewing instructions, including the various special notability categories. Primefac (talk) 23:58, 2 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
So how do I demonstrate that? Doesn't seem like a very important issue. Notability s pretty simple. Imersion (talk) 00:25, 3 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
(Non-administrator comment) - as well as notability (source consideration can be surprisingly complicated in some judgement calls), AfC reviewing involves quite a few aspects (copyright, NPOV etc), having a look at our reviewing instructions is worthwhile. Nosebagbear (talk) 17:36, 11 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I suggest turning on your CSD log and Twinkle in Preferences. Than start learning how to tag spam and other junk for speedy deletion (in AfC and elsewhere). You can also look at AfC submissions and try to improve the good ones. Fix titles, set up Reflist, move pages from userspace to Draft, bold the article name in the first sentence. Such activity is very helpful to making AfC run smoothly, assisting new editors, and building an understanding of what does and does not fly here. Thanks for your willingness to help. I'm a previous reviewer and script developer from several years back returning from an extended break, requesting to be moved back to the active list so I can begin reviewing submissions again. Hello Kb03, while you've been here for many years, you've only been active for the past two months, and have just about crossed 500 edits in the main space. I've also noticed your recent rollback edits like this where you've subsequently warned the IP editor of making changes without providing reliable sources (when the source was right there at the end of the sentence). I would suggest that you could for a couple of months more continue editing across our article space without committing such errors, maybe get experience across other desks dealing with article editing/deletion, and perhaps also get acquainted with the changes in our policies and guidelines. Perhaps you could reapply after that, which might give us more confidence in your assessment capabilities. Warmly, Lourdes 10:37, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not done. I concur with Lourdes on this one - while you've had an account for a few years now, you've effectively only been editing for two months. Sure. I was reviewing Draft:The Hustle (Media Company) but realised I didn't have access to the AFCH tools, leading me to here. HighKing++ 20:41, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hmmmm ... not a lot I can do (efficiently) without the tools. Also Legacypac, is there a category/page set up that only shows the Corp entries? HighKing++ 11:14, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
You can use Twinkle to CSD pages and you can add comments. You can also accept and move pages manually - just take off the AfC tags when you move a page. If you look at the titles it is pretty clear what are orgs and what are bios. Legacypac (talk) 16:03, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Legacypac. Yup, I'm aware that I can do all that manually (and have done in the past) and I'm familiar with Twinkle, but far easier to use the AFCH tools - less mistakes, more efficient, etc. I was also hoping/asking if something like [1] this type of page existed at AfC. I find it helpful for AfD. If not, fine - as you say, most of the time it is obvious by the name. HighKing++ 22:04, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

I've been on this project for a while now, dealing with bad new articles during that time, so helping with the draft space is an interest of mine. I will be willing to help others with their AfC submissions, and I understand the process of reviewing a draft.
If I am accepted, I promise to to do my best to assist in the AfC project as much as possible. Kirbanzo (talk) 15:59, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
I am inclined to oppose this request, based on recent encounters with Kirbanzo, until I have more confidence they will be able to field new user's questions effectively without biting their heads off. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 23:43, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
For example here, where you told an editor that they were blanking without leaving an edit summary, while the edit summary was quite clearly provided by the editor. Therefore, the suggestion is to be more careful in such edits, participate in the article space, AFD, CSD desks; Twinkle would be a good support. Reapply after perhaps 2-3 months of no mistakes. Thanks.

AfD and policy Talk discussions certainly have their merits and have become more commonplace for me to contribute as I've become less discouraged and more comfortable with assessing the guidelines. I reviewed the criteria and would like to try my hand at AfC and feel I can add meticulous-ness and a willingness to copyedit to the Project. News Team Assemble![talk?] 05:39, 14 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Has enough mainspace edits but almost no edits to Wikipedia space which means no experience with WP:AFD and WP:MFD. Without a demonstrated handle on what will and will not survive deletion discussions it is hard to judge pages at AfC. I also suggest turning on the CSD log and Twinkle and going to work on deleting some unsuitable pages in Draft or Userspace to show understanding of what is speedy deletable since we see so much of that at AfC. Legacypac (talk) 07:33, 14 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not done for now. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but unfortunately it looks like you took Legacypac's advice as a challenge and jumped in head-first without possibly fully understanding what they were suggesting. I would highly suggest you enable the CSD log in your Preferences, so that when (or if) you apply in the future we can look to see if there's any marked improvement. I would also suggest slowing down and maybe hanging around WP:AFD instead, since that is a little slower-paced and allows for more discussion and nuance. Primefac (talk) 22:09, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have been interested in helping out in reducing the AFC backlog for quite some time now; I have studied the reviewing instructions for a month now and I meet the eligibility criteria, having created 70+ articles (usually translations of biographies from foreign languages). User:LakesideMiners would be a valuable addition to AfC. Shows understanding of content creation, SPI, and other areas. A little light on AfD and MfD experience but obviously understands notability and sourcing. Legacypac (talk) 22:18, 20 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
I hate to do this but at this point in time I oppose this, if it matters. Lakeside has virtually no AFD experience and no other areas that would indicate they understand the requirements for mainspace or AFC. Praxidicae (talk) 01:37, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Praxidicae, well that is true. I am planing on working on that. LakesideMinersMy Talk Page 02:19, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
  •   Not done for now. You have a ton of article-space edits, but more than 90% of them are huggle reverts. It's good to see you know your vandalism, but that leaves almost no room for demonstrating the rest of the pre-requisites for access to AFCH. Primefac (talk) 21:51, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
I suggest putting that vandal fighting experience to use seeking deletion of spam amd copyvio waiting for review at AfC. Than reapply. Legacypac (talk)
Legacypac, Thank you for the advice. Will do! LakesideMinersMy Talk Page 15:03, 22 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

I would like to review AFC Articles, and reduce the backlog, I have been reverting and Tagging articles for deletion, and been reverting a lot of promotional edits, Original Research, and I've also created a few pages on the Simple English Wikipedia. I understand what qualifies and what does not qualify as a article. If you decline my request that's fine, I will read the reason why. :) Thanks--Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 03:47, 22 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have experience in reviewing pages at WP:NPP and also a regular at AFD. I have the required experience to review pages here at AFC and believe i can help reduce the backlog we have here. I understand all the policies and guidelines for inclusion in Wikipedia. Currently i have been assigned a WP:NPR rights. I can be put on a probationary period for now. I also have a good AFD Stats.ShunDream (talk) 14:13, 25 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

edit
I would like to help with AfC. I am well versed in most if not all content policies and guidelines, have plenty of article creation experience, plenty of experience critiquing or improving new articles, and reasonable experience at XfD. Thanks. Lopifalko (talk) 18:32, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I had a rough start to Wiki, the experienced editors did not explain most of why the opposed a lot of the contributions I have made and almost discouraged me to continue on here; since then I have a much greater understanding, co-operated a lot better with others too. Hopefully my rough start will mean I will be more understanding to new users than others. Created a ton of articles, improved tons more and have a string of green in my contributions list, been on here a long time. Have partaken in some AfD dicussions, proposed some deletions. I'll probably be sticking to sports mostly as I'm familiar with WP:FPL WP:FOOTY etc. and that is where I generally contribute Abcmaxx (talk) 18:52, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank-you for your interest. With no AfD experience it will be very difficult to evaluate the chances of a page surviving an AfD. Also, no article creations at all. Come back when you have some experience with page creation and deletion. Thanks. Legacypac (talk) 22:17, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not done, fails minimum requirements. Primefac (talk) 23:31, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I would like to help out with AfC. I've been around for awhile, been an editor for about 10 years, with varying interests over time, including at AfD, reducing the backlog of unreferenced BLPs, as a creator of the WP:TOP25, but always and foremost as a creator and editor of articles. I don't know if AfC will give me an opportunity to encourage new editors to write good articles off the bat that don't need AfC intervention, but its a hope of mine.--Milowenthasspoken 15:14, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to get more involved and believe I meet the basic AfC requirements. I also have a decent record at Articles for Deletion and while my personal article creations have been mostly stubs I haven't had any issues with them (except for a single deletion of an article I made early in my Wikipedia career). I've read the reviewing instructions and requirements. Wolfson5 (talk) 06:55, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Done I think in the normal course, this is a borderline case. I'm doing this based on my personal assessment and good faith. Please be careful while reviewing and please go slow. Lourdes 02:41, 12 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I would like to help for AFC as i am reviewing new pages through NPP and i'm now familiar with AFC CSD and XFD policy. So i want you to grant me these right. Azkord (talk) 17:35, 12 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Not done for now. I'm a little concerned with the decline at AFC, the block, and other notices on your talk page (mostly regarding CSD nominations). I'd like to see a bit more positive activity at AFD and a good CSD log (enable it in your preferences). Primefac (talk) 23:39, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Primefac: AFC is declined cause they couldn't review the page and has not given any suitable reason and suggested for DRV and about my block it was long time ago cause of vandalism and now i have rollback right as i have learned many things regarding that and there are two csd which i filed too soon cause i found that they were not suitable while i was patrolling through new pages feed. I can help with the backlog. The Draft:FIS Cross-Country World Cup records and statistics is in my area of expertise since I competed in Alpine World Cup and know a reasonable amount about cross country, so I looked at how I could review it. I have participated in a few AfD discussions recently, and fixed up the articles so that they were kept. Spam/Junk is easy to spot and delete. I understand WP:AFD and WP:MFD. I think it is important to help those that have bothered to go through the draft process and am happy to put the effort in. Fixing things is more work, and I have helped with some good article reviews and the good article process has some similarities to operating the review script process, and I have read and understand the instructions.RonaldDuncan (talk) 19:23, 19 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Probation, which will be evaluated in 3-6 months. Being on probation only means that you can be removed from the list for any reason without prior discussion. Primefac (talk) 23:47, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
As a longtime XFD (articles, templates, and miscellany) participant, I think that I would be the perfect AFC reviewer. Kamafa Delgato (Lojbanist)Styrofoam is not made from kittens. 22:26, 20 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I would like to help clear the backlog, and I believe I meet the requirements to become a reviewer. I am a participant at Miscellany for deletion and regularly CSD tag drafts. CoolSkittle (talk) 23:43, 20 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Following up from my request in October, I'm now rerequesting as I have gained quite a bit of more recent experience voting in AfDs, CSDing spam drafts (and reporting problem accounts associated), and moving drafts to proper titles as they get submitted. I do apparently still have AFCH access due to being grandfathered in, and I have declined a few blatant problematic drafts as I've encountered them, but I've held off on any large-scale reviewing until I get approved. I'm hoping I can get moved to the active list and get the NPP bit since I'm going to have a lot of free time for a few weeks over winter break to work on reviewing. Nathan2055talk - contribs 10:12, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
If you can make AfC comments and decline you are on the active list. No one is complaining about your work so go to work on the backlog. Legacypac (talk) 12:08, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Done; as already told to you, please ensure the edit that led to your recent block doesn't happen again. These things happen, but it's your duty to take care that they don't involve the project being disrupted. Thanks, Lourdes 03:18, 26 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I had been an AfC reviewer for a brief period in the past, before going inactive due to RL issues (and hence getting my name automatically removed from the list). I believe in interacting with the new editors submitting drafts and guiding them, and indeed have done this in the past.
I am also interested in the working of the AFCH script - and contributing to its development if I feel like it. I have been contributing to Twinkle for quite some time and am looking for more work to do in the realm of user scripts on Wikipedia.
Thanks for your consideration, and Happy new year to you! SD0001 (talk) 17:29, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
