DYK for Rockstar North

edit

On 22 August 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rockstar North, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in 1989, Rockstar North opened its first offices above a former fish and chip shop (pictured) in Dundee? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rockstar North. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Rockstar North), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Would like to apologize for the bad edit to Apogee Entertainment article.

Firstly, I am still trying to get accustomed to the right way to go about things on Wikipedia. When the table said "Year", I took that to mean the year the game started selling coppies, reguardless of platform specific features/tags given to games.

Secondly, the reason I wanted to do this is because I wanted to contribute more information about Below The Stone, since no other information exists, but I also wanted to do that in a way that was as minimally altering as possible (So not creating a brand new table for "beta access year" or somthing like that. Because ultimately, my notion was that if I made a big change, it would be almost likely reverted, verses a smaller change. Basically, I was just trying to do the right thing and avoid getting bonked in the head by a moderator or somthing.

With that being said, I would like to contribute more information about either Below The Stone or it's developer (Strollart), in any form that is appropriate. I believe there are many sources and articles out there that talk about them, I just don't know the full extents of what is good and bad when it comes to adding information, and prooving it's validity with other web articles.

But I am totally willing to take some time to collect a bunch of sources that would help justify either adding new info about Below The Stone to existing pages, or having a new page be made for it or Strollart.

Lastly, for the sake of transparency, I should say that I am the lead programmer of Below The Stone. So I'm not just some other random person, and from my position, I know that many other game journalists have written about us. So I believe that more information about the game can be added. I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong and getting in trouble for trying to contibute.

I know you are probably very busy, but it would be nice to talk about this more.

But thank you for your time. Andrew900460 (talk) 00:28, 22 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
