  • Coal Mining History section needs a lot of additional information, right now it is a very short paragraph that does not cover the subject in sufficient detail, with multiple single-sentence paragraphs.

  • Curie is a measuring unit for radioactivity. Can someone please add some information on the maximum health limits of radiation exposure. --CyclePat (talk) 19:16, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • computer trespass – the lead indicates that "computer trespass" is defined as a crime in eight states, but the article has only one section (2 if you count the lead), which pertains to Virginia.
  • uploading and downloading - somebody suggested on the talk page that a new section be written on legal issues. also i would like there to be a brief explanation of how browser-based uploading works, from a technical standpoint. 69.140.152.55 (talk) 02:53, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Women's history - While there's disagreement on the talk page about whether the article should discuss "women's history," as in the study of history from a female perspective, rather than "the history of women," as in what happened to females in history - it still needs expansion. • Share house - don't know why this article didn't exist so I started it, but I need help toes please, if anyone has time to help. Also it would probably be better called "Share Housing" rather than "Share house", but I'm inexperienced and don't know how to change the title, or how to set up redirects. Ta, SeventhHell (talk) 04:08, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ambient device (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) Needs examples to illustrate what they are. Bwrs (talk) 05:05, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

September edit

  1. Every one of their concerts are reviewed (not just mentioned, but actually given a detailed review) in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a notable and reliable newspaper.
  2. Has released several albums on a major (Regent Records (UK)) label

It could be argued that it "has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city", although I'll grant that's up for debate. Additionally, it performs original works (i.e., commissions) by very notable composers, Ned Rorem among them. In addition to the reviews in the Post-Dispatch, there have also been feature articles about the group, as well as programs featuring their music on KFUO-FM (which is not a "national" radio station, I guess, but still a prominent local one). I can probably provide sources to back up the claims of notability and whatnot, but they should be easily locatable on http://www.stltoday.com (the Post-Dispatch's website), as well as other stuff one might find on Google. Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you feel like taking up this task and would like my assistance. Thanks in advance! Dgcopter (talk) 03:01, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Bowing - Needs information about the Oriental (Persian?) practice of touching the forehead, and flourishing the hand in a circular motion away from the body while bowing at the waist. I would especially like to know if there is a word for that peculiar hand gesture. When and where used, and by whom? I know I must have seen it a Hollywood movie a hundred times.
  • 2008 European Grand Prix - No Race report as traditional. Raymond "Giggs" Ko 04:53, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • New York State Board of Elections -- this article should deal with New York State Board of Elections. There already exists an article dealing with the New York City Board of Elections (a different board), with the ambiguous title " New York Board of Elections ". 96.234.41.192 (talk)
  • Anton Abele Needs some images and more information about his work. !
  • Eurosport Please add in the 3rd channel Asia-Pacific to ALL Eurosport pages As that what I have and is what is carried on SelecTV in Australia as it has a entirely different channel guide from the other Eurosport channels.

  • Toads Article is very short and mostly composed of a list of toads. Some information on characteristics common to toads from someone who knows about them is needed. Tonyf12 (talk) 14:50, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Economic crisis of 2008 A major article with little content. NJGW (talk) 01:28, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • New York State Legislature Elections, 2008 This will be one of the most closely watched elections in the fall. It need info on the incumbents and their challengers including those in the primary. It was started as a stub and does contain some background info. In all it should look very similar to the articles Pennsylvania House of Representatives elections, 2008 and Pennsylvania Senate elections, 2008. -- Bentley4 (Bentley4) July 13 2008 (UTC)
  • Frontal lobe disorder - I started this as a stub (before this, it was a redirect to psychopathy!), and I have writtens some general content on frontal lobe functions and clinical assessment. I intend to write more on frontal lobe impairment in psychiatric disorders, but it would be good if a neurologist or neuropsychologist could write something on the degenerative / cerebrovascular / traumatic aspects. --Anonymaus (talk) 04:31, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Mathematical economics - I have expanded this article considerably, but it is sorely in need of a strong look by an outside figure. Since ~May I've been the (basically) only editor to work on it and I feel it needs many more eyes than mine to get close to GA status. Specifically the history and current status/usage (of the term) could be improved, as well as specific applications (or that section could be changed). Thanks. Protonk (talk) 19:43, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Graham Massey - I have added a whole bunch to it; it was only recently created but he is a well respected figure in the electronic music sphere and he certainly deserves a comprehensive article. ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 17:31, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Indiana Jones: The section on "Life" contains only information from (presumably) the novels and the television series and contains no information from any of the four actual films. This is a glaring oversight that I feel needs to be corrected, but I'm not a big enough Indiana Jones fan to do it myself. Will someone with more knowledge about the franchise please expand the section? Thanks. --Antodav2007 (talk) 08:35, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Moral Midgetry: The link for Melvin Williams, who plays the Deacon on The Wire (TV series), points to the wrong person. The Melvin Williams who plays the Deacon in the Wire is not an Vice Admiral in the Navy. He's actually a real life notorious gangster, aka Little Melvin, whose story is the basis for many of the characters and scenes in the Wire. I'm surprised there's no page for him. Here is just one story from 2003 about when he was released from prison.

  • Afro-Asians: Afro-Asians, or Blasians as some would call them, have become an increasing group in the U.S. and other continents. There's a lot of information that needs to be researched about indigenous Afro-Asians, such as the Negritos. This page needs a thorough look at its history and present population. Americanbeauty415 (talk) 04:53, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • The People of Paradise The People of Paradise is a 1960 BBC series of six documentaries produced and narrated by David Attenborough. It has episode titles but requires further detail from a resourceful contributor. Theo Pardilla 15:59, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Aztec calendar : The main article needs to be expanded/revised to be brought up to date and corrected. There is new information that resolves significant confusion. (BTW: The Native New Year is in March, corresponding with Spring equinox. It has nothing to do with the heliacal rising of the Pleiades.) - Grae Bear (talk) 07:35, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Psycho Teddy : Song information is currently short, and could use someone with more knowledge on both the character and song to update it. The song has a Music Video, so a section dedicated to this would help improve the article appearance. --Timfoxxy_236 (talk) 14:42, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February edit

  • Jeep- The "Off-road abilities" section needs to be expanded, as off-road ability is what the brand is known for. Jeep-specific features are encouraged, even on older models. Plasticboob (talk) 00:34, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • 80th Academy Awards- The voting trends section is too short. It lacks the analysis of the field of nominees about box office performance, information about nominees, etc. A good example on how to write for this section is the 78th Academy Awards Voting Trends and reaction section. Birdienest81 (talk) 11:43, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Billy Ray Cyrus - Cyrus' awards section should include every award, nominations and wins. Some I've took care of, but not all of them are present at this time. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 15:54, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maoricrater explorata - This article is very short in general, I refrain from stubbing the article because I think that there's more info on it than just basic information gleened from a single book. Maybe the gang from WikiProject Gastropods could do some expansion work? Walksonwalls (talk) 00:14, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Basketball position - Basketball position names were originally based on defensive, not offensive, positions: Guards were named, because on defense, they were closest to the basket. They "guarded" the basket. Forwards were named because they were the "forward" defenders. Centers occupied the same positions whether on defense or offense. That configuration holds, now, on offense. On defense, however, the guards may now be in the former forward position, and the forwards in the former guard position. Basketball strategy has evolved, yet positions retain their original names, however meaningless those names now are.
  • Petroglyph Games - The article is too short to be able to describe the video game company fully. --Darth Narutorious (talk) 07:29, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Stephano(Shakespeare) - This article has very short Performance History and Origin sections.
  • Frost line - This article has start to a list of example frost lines but only one example. More are needed from a contrasting variety of world locations. Article could also use a more in-depth explaination of the phenomenon and perhaps more explaination of its implications for building engineering (as article is tagged as part of WikiProject:Civil engineering) 198.175.55.5 (talk) 19:10, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Geoff Travis - Influential record company/store boss. Needs considerable expansion! Plenty of interviews available on reputable sites but the vast majority are about bands or musical trends rather than the man himself. Cavie78 (talk) 15:03, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

January edit

  • Okinawan family name - Please review and check grammer. --Eurodollers (talk) 12:29, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Garrick Club - Apparently, the Garrick Club in London, England is a highly noted and famous gent's club. I originally nominated the article for deletion because – if you read it with no prior knowledge of the subject – it looks very un-notable... almost like it was written by a businessowner that wanted to put himself in Wikipedia. My AfD request met fierce opposition, though. Total rewrite is requested, or at least some major, major editing. The article lists the club's website as the only source, it is written in British slang, and says nothing of what is supposedly an illustrious history filled with famous members. Timdlocklear (talk) 00:31, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • List of Barrow built ships - Notable Launchers - The section 'Notables to Launch Vessles' needs expanding as it only lists four people, many many more ships and submarines have been launched in the town, with a lot of these being by famous people. • Hague Conventions (1899 and 1907) - Needs a list of signatories, heads of state and plenipotentiaries, not to mention some historical context and commentary about its breaches. - OwenBlacker (Talk) 01:39, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Country Weekly - The biggest country music magazine out there. This mag's been around nearly a decade and a half, I'm sure there's more to say about it than just what's in this two paragraph stub. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 19:39, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Gibbons v. Ogden - The article fails to provide sufficient information to the reader for such a landmark supreme court decision. Georgequizbowl08 (talk) 19:49, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Topi - Make this one more like the Greater Kudo article. Bobisbob (talk) 00:58, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly#Music video - I don't know how to put a long summary into words, but I know where the video took place. But I need to put more than just: "The music video for this song features Aaron singing in an American flag background." --Martin4647 (talk) 22:15, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Arabian Oryx - If the Greater Kudu and the Bongo get good sized articles them so should this animal. More information on social behavior would be nice. Bobisbob (talk) 00:55, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Impala - Needs more detailed info on social structure Bobisbob (talk) 00:42, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Doug Supernaw - I just rewrote the article from scratch, and took care of some passages which once had {{fact}} tags, but I've barely begun to scratch the surface here. The article could use some more information on his musical career, as well as on his long string of personal arrests. Although I'm usually pretty good at rewriting country music articles by myself, I think this is a tricky one that could use a few extra sets of hands. • History of the Jews in Europe - Shockingingly inadequate article; currently only a list of links to individual countries' articles on Jewish history. Europe taken as a whole has a vast and rich Jewish history, not to mention the holocaust. We must do better here. Grunners (talk) 19:05, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Homeland Security Advisory Council - Extremely poor article, some misinformation, and is basically a list of names. -- Stepshep (talk) 01:06, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sino-Japanese Journalist Exchange Agreement - Needs review, correction and expansion.--Eurodollers (talk) 01:40, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Generation Jones - Terribly short for a generational article when compared to 'baby boomers'. Also, the references need to be formatted. 24.32.208.58 (talk) 19:53, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • black caiman - There really is not much in EVERY section of it. Footballfan190 (talk) 06:44, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Irena Górska-Damięcka - Quite new, only created (by me) following her death. Only the biography section needs to be expanded. Which should take up most of the article. :) Editorofthewiki (talk) 19:09, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
