Merseyway Shopping Centre

  If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --Hu12 (talk) 18:58, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I do not have a close connection to the Merseyway Shopping Centre and related businesses or any connection whatsoever, i do not have any business interests to do with the centre or any of its stores and do not/and are not related to anyone who works for the shopping centre management any of its stores or related organisations, neither do I have any links with the local authority Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council or the tourism organisations, I just added and edited the article as i believed it to be notable enough for its own article as most other similar centres have such articles, and i seeked to address the notability issue by including references to local newspapers and other 3rd party websites. I believe 20 in text citations to be sufficient references for such an article. I was dissappointed to see that no other wikipedia editors have plunged forward to edit and expand this article but hopefully some will come forward soon. The only thing I have to do with the centre is that i sometimes shop there. If you would like to let me know any way to show evidence on such an issue.

Hello, James50567, and welcome to Wikiproject Greater Manchester! Thank you for your generous offer to help contribute. I'm sure your input will be much appreciated. I hope you enjoy contributing here and being a Greater Manchester Project Wikipedian!

As a project we aim to have all our articles compliant with the various editing policies and guidelines. If you are contributing an article, it is good practice to ensure that it’s properly referenced with reliable sources, otherwise any contentious content may be removed by another editor. A good starting point for articles about settlements in Greater Manchester is the WP:UKCITIES guideline.

If you have any questions, feel free to discuss anything on the project talk page, or to leave a message on my own talk page. Please remember to sign all your comments, and be bold with your ideas. Again, welcome, and happy editing!

It's great to welcome a new member of the Greater Manchester wikiproject. You've stated you live in Glossop, if you're interested in improving Derbyshire related articles you might like to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Derbyshire (I'm not sure how active they are but you may want to get in touch with some of its members). I'm preparing to work on an economy section for Tameside, I was wondering if you know of any major shopping centres in the borough? In the mean time, happy editing. The article Warwickshire bus routes U1, U2, U12 and U17 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Arbitrary selection of bus routes. Not notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. License tagging for File:Birstallshoppingparklogo.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Birstallshoppingparklogo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 3 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
