Hello: here's a blast from the past!

After some years of ill health and disillusion with Wikipedia I'm dipping my toe in again.

An authoritative work by Paul King ("The Railways of N E Lincolnshire, Part 2: Stations" pub. 2019) has convinced me that a station existed in the area which I had never heard of.

It was built at the request of the Admiralty and existed from 1917 to c1922. No physical traces remain on the ground.

It had two platforms and a booking office and was every bit as bona fide a station as the WW2 Ulceby Aerodrome Platform.

The bad news from a route diagram design point of view is that it was sited between Ulceby Aerodrome Platform and Humber Road Junction. I fear this will necessitate a significant rejig of that part of the route diagram.

I have worked out a paper and pencil design which would not lose any of the wonderful detail you built in, notably the junction names (Ulceby North Jct, Humber Rd Jct and Immingham West Jct) but don't have the skills to implement it.

Could I ask you if you would please take on the rejig?

I'm pleased that Mr King's substantial work doesn't add any other stations or contradict anything we already have.

Need help on a icon - 2 branches + suburban parallel

Hi Useddenim. Hope you are doing well.

I need your help with 2 issues related to templates using the Park Circus station.

First problem

Please refer the Template:Calcutta Chord link line template. There was a branch line for Berucks and Comens that was present that used to join just before the station according to the 1944-45 map for Bengal Assam railway. While it has been easier to add it in this template and in the Template:Sealdah South section as you can see in Park Circus Template 1:

this has not been the case in the below templates (kind of how it appears in Park Circus Template 2):

• Template:Sealdah Main and North section
• Template:Sealdah–Ranaghat–Gede line

I am unable to put this in the same row as from where the Kankurgachi chord line emerges so I have to put it in a separate row. It doesn't look good.

While in template 1 the Kankurgachi branch unnecessarily takes up 1 extra row due to the bridge it looks good with the defunct Beruck & Comens siding branch from the same origin. In template 2 the Kankurgachi branching looks good but I am unable to put it in the same row.

Second problem

Park Circus is actually not a junction station. So the Kankuragchi branch joining up at Park Circus is not correct technically. It has a platform at the same location but the line merges with the Sealdah South line after crossing the park circus station. So what I am visualizing is something like this in Template 3:

Problem is:

• How do I do this with parallel icons ?

Need help on the Template:Howrah–Barddhaman main line

Hello. Hope you are doing well. I have updated the Template:Howrah–Barddhaman main line template recently with the latest info however the lines around Howrah being too complicated, I believe the template can look better. Especially as it's difficult to figure out the route a passenger train takes on the journey to & from it. For the being I have marked the route a passenger takes using the NULg icon but it's making the route look like it's broken, so I would not like to use it ideally.

Winona, MN

Hi, There actually were two swing bridges into Winona, which may be confusing. I just wanted to say that the 45° curves you implemented look fantastic, but the formatting overwrote the Grand/Cicero station icon (top half near the middle.) Thanks - My version of Williamstown line

Thanks for the help cleaning up the icons on my version of User:ThylacineHunter/Lines/Williamstown railway line, although I'm not 100% happy with the red South Kensington-West Footscray line now looking like it branches away before South Kensington station. Template for Ogilvie Transportation Center

Hello, after seeing the TLC you gave the McCormick Place station diagram, I have decided to work on diagrams for the other Metra stations (which for the most part should be really simple,) but have regrettably thrown myself in the deep end and have been working on Ogilvie Transportation Center, one of the downtown termini. I am really close to done with the basics (I will add roads, crossing lines, and corners later on), but wanted to be sure that my work is accurate and being done the right way. Everything I have started can be found on my user sandbox if you would not mind taking a look. I would really appreciate it, since having all of the switches so close together has caused me some confusion. With that being said, everything at and above the building icon (interlocking tower) should already be accurate. Thank you for your contributions! Thanks for your edits on Template:Chittagong–Cox's Bazar line. I am writing articles about railways in Bangladesh and for that I have to create and edit railway templates. Recently I created two templates for Dhaka Metro Rail (they are Template:Dhaka Metro line 6 and Template:Dhaka Metro line 1). Can you please make necessary edits in the templates? Another request, if you see the templates you will notice that Kamalapur railway station will have three metro railway lines. The station is under Template:Narayanganj–Bahadurabad Ghat line. Craigieburn line template

I love the first lot of changes to the Craigieburn line template making it more streamlined, but I'm not sure that the reordered city loop section looks right. Change to editor layout?

Just a quick question, since you do a lot of work with editing BSicon templates. On my end, the live preview no longer shows up when making changes. I have to select "publish" then "show preview" each time to make sure I haven't screwed something up. What I'm wondering is…did they remove the live preview?? Or did my device reset settings? Because if this change is permanent, thanks I hate it. And I have already tried fiddling around with my settings to no avail.

Chicago 'L' system (all time)

I noticed you’re making some improvements to the all time map in the sandbox. I was planning on colorizing the current map with present day lines (see here). Haven’t decided on what color to use for the Blue line and it closed previous lines yet due to the similarity of blue and uex.

I don’t know if it’s entirely necessary, but the stations on that map are carefully spaced according to distance from downtown with the west side lines (O'Hare, Humboldt, Lake, Garfield & Congress, and Douglas) having their distances matched with north or south distances (a station at 2800W is on the same row as a station at 2800N or 2800S). I also see that you've changed the color of the Brown Line from brown to maroon and the Red Line to the standard color on Template:Brown Line (CTA). Can you explain that one to me? It making differentiating Brown from Purple extremely difficult on my screen and doesn't leave a clear color distinction between the Red Line and the UP North. Purple Violet Brown Maroon Red standard

I changed the Brown and Red lines because the color values for maroon and standard are closer to the CTA colors than the named brown and red are respectively:

Laramie is one of those "break the rules" situations: although technically correct that it's a closed Blue Line station, on the diagram looks as if the  (exlBHF sky) icon was placed on the wrong route, hence the use of  (eBHF exruby). Useddenim (talk) 05:17, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

–The edit to Laramie was my bad, and I did think of how it could be confusing to have a blue icon, but figured the viewer would visit the station page and see it was never a Pink Line station. I was thinking about changing it to something like this, but  (eBHF exruby) is indeed more uniform.

–As for the coloring, I have to admit that the standard color fits red better, but perhaps it should be set red for the Brown Line template to avoid confusion with the Metra line (since all Metra lines are shown in the standard color on 'L' templates, and vice versa.)

–But for the color of the Brown Line, I have to say neither color seems to fit perfectly. I am almost tempted to propose a new darker brown color (mocha, coffee, chocolate, darkbrown, walnut?) but I do not think the need is strong enough for a serious discussion about it. But if a darker brown is ever supported, I would be happy to contribute and add icons to its set.

–Although I do prefer brown over maroon, maroon is closer and there is no maroon line to clash with it, so I suppose there is no reason to change it back. Hotdog with ketchup (talk) 15:52, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Even though maroon is closer in value to the CTA color, it’s my opinion that brown is the better color because it’s easier to see against the purple line and it’s also definitely “brown.”
