These accounts do not qualify for any kind of privacy reasons. Under WP:VALIDALT, Privacy, "Although a privacy-based alternative account is not publicly connected to your main account, it should not be used in ways outlined in the inappropriate uses section of this page, and if it is, the account may be publicly linked to your main account for sanctions" Under WP:PROJSOCK which is in the inappropriate uses section of that page, Editing project space "Undisclosed alternative accounts are not to be used in discussions internal to the project." You may not use multiple accounts to edit the project namespace...anything beginning in Wikipedia or Wikipedia talk. That includes RfAs or anything listed under "Wikipedia:Featured list candidates" also.

Your complaints are invalid...all of it. That includes the baloney about being locked out of your account so that you just had to create Buchanan3 to edit that RfA. Garbage.

Lewis (baseball) edit

Hi Therapyisgood - I would agree about "a Major League Baseball" but when you reduce it to MBA the first sound is an "em" which takes "an".
A search of Wikipedia articles for "an MLB" gives 649 matches - whereas a search for "a MLB" gives 5 matches - including Lewis (baseball) and four quotations, which we don't change, even though they are wrong. I'll leave you to revert yourself - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 18:29, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Disagree. I go on what's right, not the number of search results. Therapyisgood (talk) 19:14, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
So, 650 people (649 plus me) are wrong, and you are right? - sounds unlikely
You probably don't want to read this - although I couldn't find an example for MLB - it does cover NBC - it is the sound, not the letter. - Arjayay (talk) 19:26, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Again the number of people saying something is totally and wholly irrelevant. However here and here seem to indicate the acronym's article is based on how it sounds, so I'll change it back. Regards. Therapyisgood (talk) 19:43, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for doing that - happy editing - Arjayay (talk) 20:15, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have summarily closed the discussion you recently opened at WP:ANI as I believe your complaint to be without merit. Willie Mays edit

Thanks for your comments on the Willie Mays peer review! I applied your suggestions, and I just nominated it for featured article status, so feel free to comment! Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 11:35, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I just nominated Willie Mays for a peer review. During its recent featured article nomination, User:SandyGeorgia suggested it needed more work on the prose and mentioned that such a review could use the help of an experienced baseball editor like yourself. If you have time to take a look at it, your input would be greatly appreciated! Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 13:32, 25 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sometime in the coming months when you have enough time, could you go through the Mays article and let me know what would need to be fixed for you to support its promotion to FA? The most recent review closed because no one had given any supports; I am thinking that a lot of people just didn't have time to look through such a long article. This way, you can look at it whenever you get a chance, instead of having to do so within a certain amount of time. Let me know! Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 23:01, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you today for Lewis (baseball), who "played in one professional baseball game in 1890, and his first name is completely unknown. He's interesting for sure, and showed how the 1890 Buffalo Bisons were doing at the time. Set several records of futility, and was described as a "failure" and "unfortunate" in press at the time. While Therapyisgood's actions to add three additional citations in response to my (possible inappropriate) draftification was I believe an improvement the response to draftification of resulted in my opinion Wikipedia:TOOMANYREFS and I would support their removal. @BlueMoonset and Drmies: this post is about WP:ERRORS report Not sure what I should do about Commons, if anything. The DYK for Jane Margyl has come and gone on the Main Page. I don't know enough about Commons licensing to deal with this. Alexis Jazz is indef blocked at Commons, so they can't do anything. — Maile (talk) 22:08, 7 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
User:Maile66, that took me down a really long and twirly rabbit hole. Thanks! Also, I don't do things on Commons, for very good reasons, and I have really nothing to do at all with the image, so I'll have to push the "not my job" button, regrettably. Drmies (talk) 01:11, 8 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Maile66, in the interest of education I'll explain to you how I arrived at my conclusion: according to the file description the photographer is Nadar. This is confirmed by the signature on File:Margyl1905.JPG. Nadar died in 1910, so per the Copyright law of France his works entered the public domain 70 years later on 1 January 1981. And 1910 is over a 100 years ago. The URAA date for France (on which US copyrights for foreign works were restored) is 1 January 1996. Since the copyright in France had already expired in 1981 no copyright was restored in the US for this photo, hence the "-1996" in "PD-old-100-1996". Even better would actually be "{{PD-old-auto-1996|deathyear=1910|country=France}}", but that's just technicalities. Another option would be {{PD-old-auto-expired|deathyear=1910|country=France}}, but technically we don't have proof the photo was published before 1926 which makes -1996 the safer option in this particular case. If you have copyright questions in the future, feel free to ask.  Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 09:23, 8 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
It's moot for us now. Sharper, no deformation (as File:Margyl1905 (cropped).JPG is a photo of a photo) and better license tags. — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 11:36, 8 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Thcollet: can you take a look at c:File:Mlle Margyl dans Samson et Dalila.jpg? I had uploaded File:Jane Margyl in Samson et Dalila.jpg here on enwiki as the source for File:Jane Margyl in Samson et Dalila (cropped).jpg, not knowing that you had already uploaded the file from Gallica to Commons. I didn't realize at the time that it was possible to get the original from Gallica (didn't see a download button) so I used the image viewer, resulting in an upscaled file. Magog has imported my upload to Commons and overwritten your non-upscaled version. I would recommend reverting File:Mlle Margyl dans Samson et Dalila.jpg to your version. I can't do it myself but as I uploaded the new version I feel at least partially responsible. I'd ask Magog, but that scares me a bit due to the history. — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 15:12, 10 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

BookMarks edit

I think it's the standard at enWP that a collection of excerpts of reviews from other places is not a suitable source . You have no way of knowing whether the excerpt from the view is representative., and the reader needs to see from the articles itself where the reviews are coming from. You need to cite the actual published reviews, . I' and others have commented on it before with respect to a number of your articles, and I see the situation has not yet been dealt with, so perhaps it needs further discussion. .
