Remaining 2015 dates for all regions for Wii U games.

Hey, if it's not too much trouble, do you mind making some last 2015 adjustments to the List of Wii U software? I tried looking for the North American release for Action Henk, Lovely Planet, and The Deer God on the Nintendo eShop on my Wii U (yes, I had to do this because Nintendo's official website doesn't update or hasn't added the release date for games that were supposed to be released in 2015), but when I went to search for the game, those three games weren't there. So could you help me with adding game release dates to the page from now on if you can, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Zacharyalejandro (talk) 03:48, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

@Zacharyalejandro: Sorry I didn't get back on this. I've been a little busy. I did a quick search the other day but couldn't find reliable sources stating the exact release dates. I'll search again more thoroughly when I have more time. --The1337gamer (talk) 20:38, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

WWE 2K16

You should know to discuss this on talk rather than edit warring. Please don't go up to the 3RR line. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 19:19, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

@Jim1138: There is nothing to discuss, the accompanying citations say mixed reviews, it's not open to interpretation. The IP editor is being intentionally disruptive and has already been reverted by 2 other editors. If admins decided wake up and pay attention to WP:AIV, then I wouldn't have to waste my time reverting them. --The1337gamer (talk) 19:30, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
Arguing it on talk would be better than an edit war. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Quote WP:BRD and discuss it in talk.
Regarding your warning to the anon: this is a content dispute, not vandalism. The IP is not "damaging" Wikipedia. S/he may have different understanding of the material or sources. Please don't template someone for vandalism under those conditions. See wp:vandalism
Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 19:46, 10 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Next time just ping me. But be careful—revert three times in an edit war (right or wrong) and you'll end up blocked next time. Likewise, the IP will be blocked again if they continue. czar 19:51, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Help

I was wondering if you want to take a look on the GameCube's talk page. I posted a help request and was wondering if you have the time to help me on it. Thanks Zacharyalejandro (talk) 20:07, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

@Zacharyalejandro: I commented at Talk:GameCube. Personally, I don't think it is anything to worry about. Redirects are fine and there are over 1000 links to change. --The1337gamer (talk) 20:35, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Invitation to join StrategyWiki

Hello The1337gamer. I've noticed how active you are working on video game articles. I was hoping you'd consider accepting an invitation to join StrategyWiki. We're a friendly wiki community focused strictly on video games, and we could really use someone with your acumen and attention to detail to help around the site. We'd be very grateful for your contributions. Hope to see you there. Plotor (talk) 01:55, 28 January 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plotor (talkcontribs)

Specific please?

Next time you remove content from an article, can you please be a little more specific than just "How is this noteworthy?". I couldn't help but noticed you removed an edit of mine. The edit I made was made with good faith and no vandalism. Zucat (talk) 19:25, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

I changed the release date information numerous times with a reliable citation and all you have to say for deleting it is that my citation is not reliable. If the information from the GAME DEVELOPERS OFFICIAL WEBSITE is not reliable information then I'm not sure what is. Please get off your high horse and let people make valid edits.RedG09 (talk) 22:48, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

@RedG09: The source you've added says nothing about the release date of FFVII remake. Stop wasting your time and making shit up. --The1337gamer (talk) 22:50, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
@The1337gamer: Are you kidding? The source says "Release Date: This winter (PS4)". How is that not valid and how are you not seeing that? Honestly how about you actually look at the citation before condemning people like this. I'm not trying to start anything I'm just trying to make a helpful edit that is 100% verifiable. Please at least look into it and give me a valid reason for deleting my edit. I'm not vandalising I'm trying to help. RedG09 (talk) 22:55, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
@RedG09: You are misinterpreting the source you provided: [1]. The page you linked is for the original Final Fantasy VII, not the remake. The original FFVII was ported and released on PS4 in December 2015, (this Winter just passed). Square Enix just haven't updated the page to reflect that. --The1337gamer (talk) 23:00, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
@The1337gamer: Okay that makes sense. Disregard my arguments and I thank you sincerely for giving me clarity on this matter. Sorry I edited it again before this comment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RedG09 (talkcontribs)

Hello Please do not again and again remove my added links as they are very much appropriate to the content. I ask you to first have a look at link and than delete it. Dmbusena (talk) 15:51, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello re deletion

Indie Game Reviewer is a non notable review site? Here is a list of wiki entries that cite Indie Game Reviewer

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=indie+game+reviewer

The site is 9 years old and has been cited by Gamasutra, Popurls and many others over its history of reportage.

It is cited as THE source for the annual winners of the IndieCade awards. They host a database of over 700 original articles and video interviews with many of the largest and most important independent game developers in the past 15 years. Gematria (talk) 07:38, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search=indiegamereviewer.com Gematria (talk) 07:44, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

@Gematria: It failed to meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability. See WP:GNG. There needs to significant coverage about the subject itself from reliable independent sources and there wasn't any. Those things you mentioned don't contribute to the subject's notability. --The1337gamer (talk) 08:20, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
@Thel337gamer: Thank you for that information. I still feel that, in spite of some outdated reference links, this site is very notable in the independent gaming community. It is rare that news sites will write about news sites, so difficult to find notability in that way, however there are many legitimate companies that reference the site in question and moreover as I pointed out above - the entry itself is used by dozens of other wikipedia pages as a legitimate reference for their own award and accolades and otherwise. So how then, does this exclude the site itself from being relevant?
If you could kindly reconsider this important page, to the ecosystem, I will make attempts to find more recent and active links that are not from the site itself.
Some quick examples from a current google search:
Again, I reassert - that Indie Game Reviewer is widespread, and though they do not cover AAA titles but rather a far more diverse and underground sector of the games market, an integral and naturally integrated part of the ecosystem.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gematria (talkcontribs)
@Gematria: Other Wikipedia pages and websites using Indie Game Reviewer as a reference does not imply notability or contribute to notability in any way. There is a distinction between what can be used as a reference and what is notable enough to have an article, and neither implies the other. As I mentioned above, the criteria for notability is significant coverage from reliable independent sources on the subject itself. These sources you've provided don't seem to cover Indie Game Reviewer with any real depth or to a significant degree. They are just name drops, so that doesn't help. Also see WP:RS for identifying reliable sources because blogs and self-published sources cannot be used. --The1337gamer (talk) 09:38, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
@Thel33tgamer: Again, thank you for your help. I hope you can help me to find the solution. It is a shame to see this not be included in the Wikipedia. Here is another article for example, from the Mail & Guardian - a legitimate newspaper in Africa (in web form) = http://mg.co.za/article/2011-09-30-desktop-trap-is-a-cracker (Alexa ranking 13k)
"Back home locally created indie game Desktop Dungeons is fresh out of the starting blocks but is already winning rave reviews offshore. American science and technology site Wired calls it a “little gem of a game [that] promises fast rewards, even faster battles, and treasure galore — all in 10 to 20 minutes”.
Developer site Gamasutra selected it as one of the top 10 independent games for 2010, and IndieGameReviewer.com says Desktop Dungeons is “a free micro rogue-like puzzle game more addictive than crack”."
Again, all of these sources, respect that IGR is a credible source and place to reference. There is no New York Times article in and of itself that has written extensively about the site, however, we must use occam's razor to deduce that it is credible, based on its proliferation and the credibility of these diverse sources albeit apparently cursory. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gematria (talkcontribs)
@Gematria: The subject of that newspaper article is Desktop Dungeons, not Indie Game Reviewer. It says nothing about IndieGameReviewer, it just pulls a quote from them and nothing more. So I'll reiterate once more that for a topic to meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability there needs to significant coverage from independent and reliable sources on the subject. --The1337gamer (talk) 09:58, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
@Thel33tgamer: well the coverage is independent and reliable, it simply isn't significant enough - in these samples, though I would argue that the Dorkshelf podcast is, for example. I request that you give the article a chance to be improved, having offered this stern set of conditions. It is understood. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gematria (talkcontribs)
@Gematria: Well I can't give the article a chance to be improved because it was already deleted. I didn't delete it either. I simply nominated it for deletion, which initiated a discussion about whether to keep or delete the article. The consensus was to delete it. --The1337gamer (talk) 10:13, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
@Thel33tgamer: That's a shame. Hope you guys feel like you served the public. Sure took a step back on tracking an important and historic node. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:e000:60d9:3c00:311b:ecac:ae89:9e (talkcontribs)

Can you take a look at this?

Could you please block some users that have been stating the unsourced information about the supposed "New Characters and the "unannounced and unsourced game" Mario & Sonic at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games? This game is totally made up and Nintendo has not released the following game yet so it's not been clear about the future game in the series. And also the Wii U version is stated in the article itself, so it shouldn't be there and only contain original release dates (such as the first release: the 3DS version). Thanks for the help and if I find anything else suspicious, I'll let you know. Zacharyalejandro (talk) 16:26, 15 March 2016 (UTC)Zacharyalejandro

@Zacharyalejandro: I can't block editors as I'm not an admin. I'm aware that someone keeps adding false information to List of Mario sports games. It is one person switching IP address frequently. @The1337gamer: Could you tell me who the admins are, if it not too much of a hassle for you, I would appreciate it. Oh. As for flag icons, I am sorry.

When I was looking at video game magazine articles, I saw one which had the flag icon, and that was how I got the idea of doing it. I am sorry. Would a bot for replacing "{{flag|*content*}}" with [[*content*]] in such templates such as the newspaper and magazine templates work? Anyway, I am thinking about removing the flag of what article encouraged for me to perform this and reverting my disruption on all other such articles in which I have similarly done this. Gamingforfun365 (talk) 23:06, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

Unless you had already checked my "contribs" page just to see what I have done on other articles, for which I shall thank you. Anyway, this is the article whose flag gave me the wrong idea of doing it: PlayStation World. (Stupid flag!) Gamingforfun365 (talk) 23:17, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

12 is Better Than 6

I believe the guideline says that it should be capitalized, but does it have to? Since the official website, as well as the Steam storefront page list it with a lower-case "is", I think we could keep it that way? Lordtobi () 10:10, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

@Lordtobi: "Is" does have to capitalised to conform with the style guide. should is used indicate the correct and expected state. --The1337gamer (talk) 10:26, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Minecraft capitol building picture

Hello I'm aware of your statement on the Minecraft Capitol Building picture on the Minecraft article - stating that it's a copyright breach. This however is not true about videogame screenshots as they naturally exist in thousands of other wiki articles about video games. Also, I'm providing a clear, updated picture of an example construction project (i.e. the U.S. Capitol, that I've built in my personal copy of Minecraft) to replace the outdated, bad resolution picture of a similar building. In addition, I am not intending to violate the copyright policies of Mojang/Microsoft by stating that I created Minecraft (the game itself), but by stating the creations you can do in the game e.g. buildings, houses, etc. In this case I built a replica of the United States Capitol in my purchased copy of Minecraft. To conclude, please refrain from removing the picture to avoid edit warring -causing your user account to be temporary locked. Thanks for your cooperation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raphael.concorde (talkcontribs) 21:16, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

@Raphael.concorde: Video game screenshots are non-free. You don't upload them under the Creative Commons license and claim to be the copyright holder of it. They have to uploaded as non-free media with rationale and licensing template. --The1337gamer (talk) 21:34, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. I accepted your recent messages and replaced the picture on the Minecraft article with an new uploaded one with a tag stated "copyrighted but fair use". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raphael.concorde (talkcontribs) 21:46, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
@Raphael.concorde: I don't think you've done it right. You need to replace the current templates on the file page with Template:Non-free use rationale video game screenshot and Template:Non-free video game screenshot with the relevant information filled out. --The1337gamer (talk) 21:52, 7 April

2016 (UTC) Thanks for the templates you've provided. I added them to both pictures and placed in the valid information. So far the tags have not been removed in compliance to your statements; however, should I remove the parts showing e.g. "I created this picture" ?

"Fixed citation errors" by removing accessdate?

Hi, I'm wondering why you removed the accessdate fields at Bag of holding? ··gracefool 💬 21:29, 18 April 2016 (UTC)

@Gracefool: Accessdate refers to the date of when the content pointed to by url was last verified to support the text in the article. Accessdate requires a url. There is no url for these citations, so there should not be an accessdate. See Template:Cite book#URL and Category:Pages using citations with accessdate and no URL for more. --The1337gamer (talk) 05:04, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

Computer Gaming World cite URLs

Hello, thank you for inserting URLs to CGW Museum into Computer Gaming World cites I and others created that didn't have them. May I suggest that instead of linking directly to the PDF (for example, http://www.cgwmuseum.org/galleries/issues/cgw_47.pdf), you instead link to the parent HTML page (for example, http://www.cgwmuseum.org/galleries/index.php?year=1988&pub=2&id=47)? You would greatly reduce the bandwidth load on the site, and greatly speed up the experience for those who just want to see the cover or otherwise don't need the full text of the issue. What's the problem with the two uploaded images that were on List_of_Dreamcast_homebrew_games? --G&CP (talk) 21:55, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

@G&CP: Video game cover art is non-free media. Usage of non-free media on Wikipedia should satisfy Wikipedia's non-free content criteria (see WP:NFCC). These cover arts fail criteria #8: Contextual significance. Artwork is used on video game articles as a primary means of identification for the product. It is not necessary to include artwork on list articles. --The1337gamer (talk) 22:01, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

GT Interactive Software merge into Atari, Inc.

Hi, was there something wrong with how I merged the company's two articles, necessitating your reverts? The article merger templates have been up since April without eliciting any discussion, so I thought this would be an uncontroversial move. – Quoth (talk) 16:25, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

@Quoth-22: What's the rationale for merging the two articles? The editor proposing the merger is meant to create a discussion on the talk page and provide rationale for merging the articles. I don't see any reasons for why the articles should be merged on the talk pages, so I reverted it. --The1337gamer (talk) 16:31, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
I see, yeah, I should have been explicit on the talk page – I thought the existing articles would kind of speak for themselves: the GT Interactive article mentions that the company "no longer exists" and that it changed its name to Atari, Inc.; and the Atari, Inc. article says that it was both originally founded as GT Interactive and founded as Atari, Inc. (in 2003). The reality is that both of these articles are about the same company, which has simply gone through some name changes. This merge is to clear up that confusion and centralize the subject matter. – Quoth (talk) 17:07, 5 June 2016 (UTC)

Open World Category

Thanks for correcting that edit, but that does bring up an issue that's been bothering me since Rise of the Tomb Raider: Reviews from different sources can sometimes contradict one another. In Rise of the Tomb Raiders case, the reviewer for ShackNews said it has an open world, while the reviewer for IGN said it's semi-open. I've been trying to play it safe and only have games with a minimum of three sources calling the game open world in the category. Since the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds only had one, I felt it just wasn't enough to cover it. However, I've been trying to get an experts opinion for a while on how to go about it. My question is, if both sites are listed as reliable, how do I determine which is more reliable in the case of two conflicting reviews? Also, one more question: I've been looking for three terms in each review, and if it has any of the three, then I add the category. Those three terms are "Open world", "Free Roam", and "Sandbox". Are there any other terms I should watch out for? ThanksDohvahkiin (talk) 10:27, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Talk:Chandelier (Sia song). Such edits are disruptive and appear to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. There is no basis to remove a discussion that multiple other editors have commented on. Let the discussion run its course. Chase (talk | contributions) 18:52, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

  • @Chasewc91: Move request was removed per WP:EVADE and WP:DENY. Letting an indefinitely blocked editor make requested changes completely undermines the point over them being blocked. --The1337gamer (talk) 18:56, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
    • You could have removed it if others hadn't already commented. WP:BANREVERT says that changes don't need to be reverted just because they were done by banned editors. Others had already commented on the proposal. Some had even supported the proposal. To remove the discussion was completely inappropriate. You could have left a note mentioning that the IP was that of an indefinitely blocked editor, if you felt it was that relevant to the discussion (which it's not). DENY is not even policy; it's an essay. Chase (talk | contributions) 19:29, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
@Chasewc91: WP:EVADE and WP:BANREVERT are part of Wikipedia's blocking policy and they support the change I made. WP:BANREVERT is not a justification for allowing blocked editor to make changes. They weren't fixing a typo or undoing vandalism, they were requesting a page move which is a significant change. This particular editor has threatened other editors, been blocked indefinitely on several accounts, been blocked over 150 times on individual IP addresses. They been vandalising Wikipedia for the past year and a half so much that two range blocks had to be applied, causing millions of IP addresses to be blocked. Allowing his changes to persist only means he wins and negates the effect of blocks. I'm completely fine with another editor opening a new move request, but I cannot support letting this editor get his away after being blocked so many times.--The1337gamer (talk) 19:47, 14 June 2016 (UTC)
EVADE says: Anyone is free to revert any edits made in violation of a block, without giving any further reason and without regard to the three-revert rule. This does not mean that edits must be reverted just because they were made by a blocked editor. BANREVERT says the same thing and continues: Editors who reinstate edits made by a banned editor take complete responsibility for the content. When I reverted you the first time, I took responsibility for the RM, and because there was nothing wrong with the request – aside from the nominator using an IP address to evade his block (an issue that has already been rectified, as the IP is blocked for 3 months) – you were in the wrong to revert me a second time.

Your logic completely violates BURO. Chase (talk | contributions) 19:58, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

CITEVAR

A quick comment: changing references that are consistently inline to reflists (such as here) is something cautioned against per WP:CITEVAR; switching format can be requested on the talk page but should not be a bold move. --MASEM (t) 17:59, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

  • @Masem: I wasn't changing the reference format. I was reverting the IPs edits ([2]) for that very same reason you are explaining to me. I explained this on the IP editors talk page (User talk:81.140.190.13) because he has been moving list defined references inline for no reason. --The1337gamer (talk) 19:16, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

Pokémon Sun and Moon

Please do not replace the Pokémon Sun boxart image with Moon. Per convention, all articles on mainline Pokémon games use the primary version's boxart (Red, Gold, Ruby, Diamond, Black, X, and now Sun). Secondary version boxart images are only to be used on articles on remakes and/or sequels (LeafGreen, SoulSilver, White 2, and Alpha Sapphire). ANDROS1337TALK 00:08, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

July 2016

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. The "Evolve" article

Hey-o, I noticed you removed the user reception from the "Reception" bit of the "Evolve" article, as per WP:VG/Userreview, however, I would argue that it ought to be there, based on the massive scale of the negative reception, per the quote " In some cases, the existence of a large amount of negative feedback may be reported by reliable sources (such as user reception of the original ending of Mass Effect 3), in which case discussion of the user feedback is appropriate as long as it is tied to reliable sources and not the actual user reviews."; Steams own review-metrics are a reliable source of aggregate data, and the reception was notable due to the pre-relase, pre-DLC-debacle overall mixed to positive reception, since it essentially went from "This is fairly OK" to "This game is horrible, awful, will eat your children and will be forgotten in weeks". Cheers, 176.10.248.196 (talk) 23:42, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Steam review aggregates are based on user reviews, not critic reviews. It's user generated. You need a reliable secondary source that discusses the topic, not just a metric or number. -- ferret (talk) 23:55, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

I consider the article to be significantly better and neutral at the time of writing, however, it would seem that the guy whose pet-article it is doesn't, and I would like to have someone else have a gander and see what they think, as I argue that the guy whose pet-article it is, is quite biased in his reverts and edits (which he does as soon as a negative word is added anywhere where people are likely to read them). Hitman for Square Enix Europe series

Looking at Wikipedia:WikiProject Square Enix/Europe, would you have any interest in writing up the recent Hitman articles (Absolution, Sniper, 2016)? I wasn't sure if Hitman Go was a one-off for you or if you might be interested in collaborating. I would write the Deus Ex series but first wanted to check who would be on board czar 13:20, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

  • @Czar: The only Hitman game I've played is Hitman Go. I don't really have a strong interest in the series. So I'm not the ideal person to work on those articles. You're best off looking for someone else. --The1337gamer (talk) 13:30, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

E-79

I'm sorry not to react quicker but I have to disagree with you on this topic: You are "not seeing any indication of notability" for an article regarding a fictional vehicle from a video game. But the E-79 is a tank frequently mistaken for beeing historic and discussed as such in many tank and tank game related forums on the internet. I deem it therefore necessary that Wikipedia provides clarification on this matter. Thus, I suggest that the page of the E-79 is kept and that it is linked to at the disambiguation page as well. Best regards. --IndyMeister (talk) 17:17, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

@IndyMeister: Forum posts are self-published sources and don't contribute to the notability of a topic. You need to add reliable independent sources. Feel free to restore the article with better sourcing, but if I feel the topic still doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability criteria, then I will nominate it for deletion. --The1337gamer (talk) 19:16, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

On Xbox One, I understand it is unreliable but the thing is, I noted the fact that it is not reliable. This is also in a section paragraph rather than the infobox for instance, so isn't it alright to include it? --G&CP (talk) 17:33, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

Franchise/Series/Game Infobox: PROposed SUB-heading STANDARD.

I noticed you have REverted the changes I have made accross SEVERAL wikis. Your reasons stated in the summaries are: "Don't use line breaks, lists are preferred" and "platform subheaders unnnecessary". I have read the current wikipedia standard (Template:Infobox_video_game_series#Template_Data) - it does NOT state ANY preference for the formatting withIN the field.

  1. Why is the list format PREferred?
  2. Is their a Manual of Style detailing it here?
  3. IF their is NONE - will you ALLOW the sub-heading standard (detailed below) to be used?

IF you prefer lists because it uses LESS vertical space compared to the stretching of the infobox frame that the sub-heading format creates - this can be EASILY solved. I can make EACH sub-heading COLLAPSable. For example, see this edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Need_for_Speed&oldid=735594528.

This is my INTENDed design standard for this sub-heading standard.

UNfortunately, I was NOT finished IMplementing it to this point (and REvising it on the AFFECTed wikis) earlier - BEfore you UNdid my progress.

I am Awaiting your REsponse. -- Warlord Blade (talk) 21:05, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

1 and 2. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lists. It states that line breaks are deprecated. Instead use Template:Plainlist or Template:Unbulleted list.
3. The infobox is for summarising key information. The platform field is meant for listing the platforms. It doesn't need to contain further information such as whether the platform is a computer operating system, handheld device or living room console. Readers can click the links to be directed to the respective platform articles, where they can find out further information. So, the sub-headings are unnecessary. --The1337gamer (talk) 21:18, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
I have read the topics you have submitted. I was NOT aware MANUAL line breaks were DEprecated (for technical reasons) - as these wikis Help:Breaks and Wikipedia:Line-break_handling#.3Cbr.3E do NOT mention this IMportant INformation. I will NOT use it further - I will adopt the list format.
The GOAL of the sub-headings format design were to organize the list INto something MORE meaningful. The reader can at a QUICKly determine the platforms AVAILable by the generic headings (since they are NOW in groups) - withOUT having to go to (and LOAD) ANother web-page to find this BASIC information, IF they do NOT know about that SPECIFIC console/operating system.
To me, it is a clean and USEful tool to INcrease the value of the current information displayed - it is WORTH the lines to display it. There are FIVE catogories: Computer, Hand-held consoles, Home consoles, Mobile and Other - used where applicable. Infoboxes USUALly have space to display it comfortably.
I will REvert my edit linked above (Need_for_Speed) back to the list format.
THANK you for your answers and REsponse. -- Warlord Blade (talk) 02:29, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Moby Games Comment

Hi, I understand that Moby Games is not what you would consider to be a reputable source, but there are lots of video game articles that cite Moby in their references. I figured that they would suffice for the time being until I can gather more information. I don't know whether its because you saw all my articles at once, but in the effort of trying to keep things uniform, if Moby Games is allowed to be cited on other past articles it should be allowed to be cited in new articles. Its difficult to find information on early video games, which is what I am attempting to do from more reputable sources, but citing dates and what platforms the game came on can come from Moby. MBlairMartin (talk) 18:01, 29 August 2016 (UTC)

@MBlairMartin: Mobygames should not be cited on any article. It's a simple as that. As outlined on WP:VG/RS, it relies on user-submitted data and is not a reliable source. I'm aware that some articles do cite mobygames, however they should not be doing that. Unfortunately, given the volume of video game articles on Wikipedia, I can't monitor and clean up all of them immediately. Other articles citing mobygames when should not be is not justification for you to continue citing it anyway. --The1337gamer (talk) 18:13, 29 August 2016 (UTC)

Apologies for the talk page edits, but..

I'll give an example of what i deleted:- There's a game called Pokemon Emerald which released in 2004 in Japan, The US version released in mid 2005. So people were discussing "rumors" regarding American release, as to whether it will release and when the release date will be, the discussions happened in between the Japanese and US releases. It seems unnecessary to keep comments more than a decade old and that too regarding "rumors" that have since been proven right or wrong long ago. Daiyusha (talk) 06:58, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

I'll revert the changes and add Resolved to those sections instead.Sorry and thanks for telling me. Daiyusha (talk) 06:58, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

Clarifying edits to avoid edit war

Hello, in Stranded (video game), Stranded Deep and Stranded II you removed distinguish modules because titles weren't ambiguous. I think we should keep that, because despite the names being clearly distinguishable, a lot of users from Stranded's community confused Stranded Deep with another game in Stranded's game series, and since Stranded's page talks (even if briefly) about all games in that series, i think we should keep that there.

Source for confusion is this post by Stranded's developer.

Also, "Stranded (2014 video game)" should obviously have remained there, as both games have the exact same name.

Regarding Darkwood (video game), i don't know why you removed a referenced sentence ("97% out of 800 user reviews were positive"). Maybe the article was wrong at not stating in-line that those reviews were in Steam, and not some other website. Instead, only the reference showed that.

I could have already made edits to the mentioned articles, but i'd like to ponder and discuss these matters with you to avoid a constant conflict between edits. What do you think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by YuriNikolai (talkcontribs) 18:13, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

  • @YuriNikolai: I don't think the Stranded hatnotes fall under WP:SIMILAR, so they are not needed. There's no Wikipedia article for Stranded (2014 video game) so no distinction needs to be made there. Stranded, Stranded II and Stranded Deep all have distinct names. I don't see how the developer's post overrides Wikipedia's editing guideline. The names are distint enough to not need hatnotes. For Darkwood, I removed the sentence on user reviews per WP:VG/USERREVIEW.--The1337gamer (talk) 18:36, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Surely more information is better than less?

I put the 3 extra album covers on Hardwired... to Self-Destruct because Wikipedia has an "Extra album cover" function made specifically to add in extra album covers. If alternative album covers aren't allowed in articles then why does an extra album cover function even exist? The album has 4 different album covers, it does not need them correct but the band have decided to make it that way so why is it a problem for the article to show the covers? The whole point of an article is to give information on the topic and I added useful information. There seems to be a picking-and-choosing thing going on with certain articles like Korn's Issues for example has had 3 alternative cover arts (which were never even released with those covers I might add, they were runner-ups in a competition) on its article for years and no one has ever found any problem with them being there so why are the rules different for this album? Again an extra cover art function exists on Wikipedia therefore they should be added without dispute. It is obviously not against the guidelines if the option to add them exists.... SuddenDeth (talk) 17:38, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

Note how it states "widely distributed" i'm pretty sure all editions of a METALLICA album will be widely distributed. These are not limited editions or region exclusive editions. Every Vinyl, Deluxe CD and Deluxe Vinyl will have its own cover art different to the standard CD. SuddenDeth (talk) 03:16, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Basically, we do whatever we can to only use one (if that) non-free piece of content (content that is copyrighted, but is allowable under certain strict conditions). Non-Free Content must meet all ten criteria at WP:NFCCP (not just a few of them, all of them) in order for them to be able to be used. At this point in time, I believe only one album cover is needed. Gestrid (talk) 05:19, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

But it doesn't convey equivalent significant information as there are 4 different covers one for each platform. SuddenDeth (talk) 22:30, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

  • The purpose of including cover art on Wikipedia articles is visual identification. Only one is needed to do that. In general, alternate covers are not included unless there is significant coverage about the art itself. --The1337gamer (talk) 22:41, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

Angry Birds

Why are you taking down the tables upholding all the information across all the Angry Birds games? I may not have a cool username, but I worked hard to put those up, and you just took them all down....why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:CCA8:1A99:9102:15A6:2FAA:5D97 (talk) 23:14, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

@2602:306:CCA8:1A99:9102:15A6:2FAA:5D97: Galatz made it clear in his edit summaries. Had you bothered to read it rather than reverting his edits then you would realise that the consensus is not to include the tables on the articles. The consensus was based on Wikipedia's existing content guidelines. Read it before making any futher reverts: Talk:Angry_Birds_POP!#Level_tables. --The1337gamer (talk) 23:19, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
First of all, I don't believe pings work on IP users. Second, the specific guideline The1337gamer is talking about can be read here. Gestrid (talk) 07:46, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

The1337gamer, why is this a big issue all of a sudden? The tables have been there since their respective pages were created, and nobody has had a problem with them....except you evidently :/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rustypup (talkcontribs) 00:15, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Please do not tamper with WP's articles, for everyone contributes and we can all live in harmony, for the good of everyone :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rustypup (talkcontribs) 21:29, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

@Rustypup: Read the consensus at Talk:Angry Birds POP!#Level tables- keep them or remove them? and then read WP:LISTEN. If want to be blocked then carry on with the disruptive editing. --The1337gamer (talk) 21:36, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
Nevermind, you've already been blocked. lol... --The1337gamer (talk) 21:37, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Motorsport Manager

Sorry for my mistakes. I've added new scores because I've already planned to cite the reviews in the text. Just remember to restore the scores when the section will be expanded. :)

Added new info on Sega AM2 page

Just wanna ask if the way I have added things is ok. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trooj (talkcontribs) 10:48, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

Stop manipulating the Sonic Team infobox

Look, I respect the edits that you are making to the Sonic Team page, however, you are not stylising the infobox as symmetrical as the other Sega subsidiaries like Atlus, Relic Entertainment or Sega AM2. Alongside that, Nights and Phantasy Star Online are franchises by Sonic Team, they should not be ignored. Please understand this before you revert the edits that I have made. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 10:33, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

@Iftekharahmed96: Unlike those studios, Sonic Team is known primarily for the Sonic series. They have only made 2 Nights games, it can barely be considered a series. They made way more Puyo Puyo games, yet you didn't list that. It seems to me that you are arbitrarily picking what you want to be listed there. The infobox is not meant to be a comprehensive list of games they've made, hence why linking to the list article is a better solution. Articles are do not need to be symmetrical, that's a stupid argument. All three of those articles are poor quality articles anyway so they're hardly decent examples to use when making a comparison. --The1337gamer (talk) 11:26, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
Yes, they are primarily known for the Sonic series, however, Nights is a franchise because it expands beyond the main games and into other Sega titles. Monolith Soft is primarily known for the Xeno series but they are not just credited for that. Saying that "Sonic Team is just known primarily for Sonic" is a weak argument in the context that it is not giving Sonic Team enough due credit and is being subjective. Wikipedia is a community based, objective platform. You need to make it as symmetrical to the other Sega subsidiaries as possible in order for everything to be organised as a Sega company page. I'll add Puyo Puyo to the list of core franchise (you do not add "more franchises" to an Infobox) to an Infobox. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 11:52, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

You have been involved with the video game project. I invite you to the ongoing FFD discussion about images of Tales of Eternia. --George Ho (talk) 13:59, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Doom

Oh? Never knew that ANY article could go without sources in its entire section. Maybe the part where it mentions the instruction booklet could be referenced. Like literally citing the instruction booklet, just like my music articles cite liner notes for "personnel" sections. I have never edited video game articles. I saw how good the condition of the article's writing was, but the citation lack floored me. The skeleton of the article's writing is good though. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 17:01, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

@DannyMusicEditor: In general, we don't require sources for video game plot summaries. The reasoning is similar to WP:FILMPLOT. You can cite the manual or scenes from the video game directly using Template:Cite video game if you want, but it's not necessary or required. --The1337gamer (talk) 17:10, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

Furi

Buddy, would you mind easing off the Furi deletions until Saturday? I have a project on Wikipedia for it due this Friday and I'm really not trying to fail this thing, but by Saturday feel free to add or delete whatever makes you happy. I guarantee you that we both have better things to do than going back and forth adding and deleting things like this... Thanks! Olivermoter (talk) 20:09, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

@Olivermoter: No. Your "project" or whatever doesn't overule Wikipedia's policies or content guidelines. I suggest you actually read them before restoring unnecessary content to the article. --The1337gamer (talk) 20:12, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

wow buddy you must be the life of every party Olivermoter (talk) 20:14, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Talk:TimeSplitters (series)#Requested move 04 November 2016

Somehow, my proposal was closed as "procedural close", while the proposal for the series was relisted. I invite you there to comment. --George Ho (talk) 22:40, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Nintendo DS

I didn't make any mistake. Nintendo DS outsold the DS with 172 million units. Don't say I don't have a source when in fact that I don't need one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Color of crimson (talkcontribs)

Bandai Hardware

Look, I understand the whole situation with the Sega Sammy and Bandai Namco renaming, templates take time to format. But this is different, this is a template, that is no longer being used, because the contents are all used on the collective template of Template:Bandai Namco. So for godness sake, stop undoing that revision, it's a pointless template. You're not even contesting against my speedy deletion, you're just undoing the deletion because you want to be in a position of power Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 18:52, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

@Iftekharahmed96: It is still being used on Apple Bandai Pippin and Apple Pippin. You didn't add noinclude tags when you re-added the speedy deletion template. And you've decided to merge the template your own will, regardless of what anyone else thinks when I explained that there is process for this sort of thing in case someone contests your changes. You ignored everything I said because you're incompetent. --The1337gamer (talk) 18:56, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
I'm reporting you to a moderator for insulting me. How dare you call me incompetent! Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 18:57, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Charles Martinet filmography

First off, your not giving your reason about remove it. In the edit summaries your not explaining it. Second of all, Filmographys don't needs sources, so please stop removing it! Please! It's getting annoying! Also, if you edit war one more time on it, I will report you for vandalism. Once it gets unprotected in 2 months, the filmography is going to stay the hell the way it is!, and next time "EXPLAIN" your edits in the edit summaries before you delete someone's edit next time you do it. Learn that lesson. 174.192.24.116 (talk) 22:40, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
