Orphaned non-free media (File:Cody's criminal upper.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Cody's criminal upper.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 05:04, 23 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Penguin (again) edit

Have you not read the sources I've posted in the talk page fore the Penguin? Since you apparently haven't here they are, two references straight from the article itself: [1] [2]. His intellect is sourced. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 16:53, 24 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Why would I write offensive words? I'd be asking to get myself banned. As for the sources, both are reliable and, as I've said, were cited in the article on the Penguin. (And yes, both explicitly say that he has genius level intellect.) Honestly, you're getting into WP:OR territory when you try to prove that Penguin does not have genius intellect by comparing him to other characters that do. Perhaps you should be the one looking for sources that say that the Penguin is not, in fact, a "genius". TheStickMan[✆Talk] 05:55, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I know the different between "intelligence" and "genius", but it doesn't matter what I think, just as much as it doesn't matter what you think. What matters is that reliable sources (and yes, even without a clear author a source can be considered reliable) have said that the Penguin is a genius, thus, genius intellect is included in his abilities. Again, it doesn't matter if both of us think that the other is wrong, because using our own opinions to decide is original research. If you want to prove that the Penguin is not a genius, gather your own sources and then take them to the talk page for the article on the Penguin and you, me, and maybe some others will discuss from there. For now, it stays. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 17:46, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Uh, yeah, you added a "citation needed" tag to the genius intellect ability on the Penguin's article just two days ago, which is why I posted to your talk page again. I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm saying that you need to cite your own sources instead of treating your personal opinion as fact and challenging existing, reliable sources. That's all. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 20:29, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I realize you haven't edited it since, that wasn't my point. Anyway, as long as you understand where I'm coming from with the whole genius thing with the Penguin, then there is no need to continue this discussion. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 15:31, 26 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wikilinking edit

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This applies to infoboxes, too.

Thanks, and my best wishes.

Disambiguation link notification for May 12 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited María Antonieta de las Nieves, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Spin-off (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

License tagging for File:Elchavokartcover.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Elchavokartcover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 04:05, 11 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Update edit

Hi Brazilian Man - I've correcting the description and licensing information for the image, so it should be fine. However, a direct source is still needed - simply stating the source of the image as "a website" does nothing in terms of identifying the source. If you could edit the file description and add a link to the page that contains the image you uploaded, that'd be fantastic. Do let me know if you need help with either this file, or any uploads in the future. I know it can be confusing, but it's important that we get file descriptions and licensing right. Thanks! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 06:14, 11 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Spider-manvsvenomfirstmeeting.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Spider-manvsvenomfirstmeeting.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Challenged after my first revert; You are violating WP:BRD edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on John Lennon. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
READ the policies linked. Sundayclose (talk) 19:09, 12 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

December 2015 edit

Your recent editing history at John Lennon shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
