KDEN

Thank you for fixing that.. My browser is being cranky so editing was taking way too long. I'm confident that I've got the right one now.. Sigh, I never used to be this much of a butter fingers when editing.. Perhaps I should go eat... ;-) —Cliffb 02:21, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

ERAU

Excellent! Let me know if you get in. You should receive something by December. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 19:14, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Congrats!! Did you get the money from scholarships? Including flight costs, a rough estimate is $20,000/year total. I don't really know anything about Purdue, but if you have any questions about ERAU, feel free to ask. -Justin, Pilotboi / talk / contribs 05:57, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Awesome! The campus is great. There are plently of orginizations for everything you can think of, and tons of other non-academic and academic things, like volleyball courts, tennis courts, racketball, pool, fitness center, multiple places to eat, tutor labs, computer labs, among the usual stuff. And no, you don't need a pilots license. You don't need to have ever stepped foot on anything that has even resembled an airplane, lol. From the first week you get there, you'll be trained from the ground up and you'll begin your flying within the first 2 weeks. I'm sure you'll enjoy it! -Justin Pilotboi / talk / contribs 23:06, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm not exactly sure about an open house. There probably is one in the spring. I just helped out in the fall one. You can always call the school and find out. And as you said, you can always get your own private tour. Tours are given Monday-Friday, a few times a day. Justin, Pilotboi / talk / contribs 05:56, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

ExpressJet at LGB

Do you have a source for ExpressJet using the South Concourse at Long Beach Airport? When I asked in the Airliners.net forums, someone who was there indicated that they would be in the North Concourse. -- Hawaiian717 21:12, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

LAX and SQ 006

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Los_Angeles_International_Airport&diff=165083136&oldid=165027933

Of course it has something to do with LAX. The plane was supposed to arrive at that airport. Passengers ticketed to LAX died.

Now, what I will do is move this to a different section that is separate from incidents that occurred on the LAX grounds or involving LAX staff. WhisperToMe 04:26, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

For that matter, I also found this in the very same list: "On October 31, 1999, EgyptAir Flight 990, which was on a Los Angeles-JFK-Cairo route, crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near Nantucket after takeoff from New York, killing all 217 persons on board."

Egyptair 990 had as much to do with LAX as SQ 006 did. WhisperToMe 04:28, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

AirTran - IND and SRQ/FLL

It looks as if AirTran is keeping FLL and SRQ through late May 2008. I checked out as far as I can go which was in the area of May 28th. In the past these routes dropped May 8th. Should we drop the seasonal note? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhammerindy (talkcontribs) 07:39, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Cape Air handled by Frontier

It isn't right to add the "handled by Frontier" part to the Cape Air line? All passenger service are handled by Frontier including check in. The following is a quote in an email from Cape Air.

"When you check in for your Cape Air flight in Indianapolis, you will check in with Frontier Airlines on concourse C. They will direct you to the gate your flight will be departing from on that day." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhammerindy (talkcontribs) 02:56, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

United TUS-IAD

I didn't notice that they are bringing the seasonal flight back. I'll update the route map as soon as I can.

Also, are you the one who put those terminal diagrams on the O'Hare page? They look good but gate numbers may give it more of a purpose. Just my opinion.

Talk to you later!

I see AirTran has added IND-MIA back to their route map. I can't find when the flights start though. Can you see if you can find it? Last time they ran the MIA route it was on alternate days with PBI. MDW to A-class

Hello Sox23, I have just recently returned to wikipedia after a very busy month and have been wondering if it is time to prep Chicago Midway International Airport fo FA-status. I think bringing MDW up to A-class is a step in the right direction. I have been doing most of my work in the WP:Aviation Assessment department. I am woried about the MDW article as it lacks some references in the History section. If you want to help me with this please get back to me. Marcusmax (talk) 00:38, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

I think it's mainly references, there are some formatting issues but I can take care of those. Marcusmax 21:57, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the help I am going to adjust some formatting issues now or tommorow. Marcusmax 04:02, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

I just did my formatting, the references look great, and I just nominated it for A-class review. To support the A-class nomination go to the Review Department at WPAVIATION. Are support is really not worth that much, only uninvolved editors can pass or fail the nomination. Marcusmax 16:45, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Midwest OMA Focus City

Hello Sox23! Thanks for your response to my question, wasn't expecting you to be the one to reply. Anyway, the OMA focus city should be taken off but i'm not sure since YX still calls it a focus city. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MasonJ0890 (talkcontribs) 04:21, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for moving the RFD page

Don't know how to do that. This is the only page I monitor since I report on the airport for a living.

Where did you get the tidbit about Miami Air International and Apple? Everything I see still says Allegiant, including their charter filing and online schedule. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vingenzo (talkcontribs) 22:19, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps you could promote the airshow as well, as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.145.151.112 (talk) 10:29, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

RFD

Apple Vacations isn't always going to edit their website to reflect that Miami Air flies the RFD-CUN route. Allegiant is one of their preferred vendors, so they just leave it listed even though Allegiant doesn't actually fly that particular route in 2007. You need to check www.flightaware.com to see who operates it. This year, it's Miami Air. It gets ferried from San Antonio, picks up pax in Rockford, then goes to Cancun.

Just leave it as Allegiant - it just proves that half of the wikipedia airport pages are incorrect, anyway. Many of the incorrect edits are yours. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.145.151.112 (talk) 10:27, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Apple Vacations

Not sure what the previous commenter is talking about. The first Apple flight of the year from RFD-CUN is 12/29 and Flightaware.com doesn't have anything that far in the future. The Miami Air flights from RFD-CUN were unrelated charter flights, according to airport officials I spoke with.

Barring any kind of actual proof from the previous poster, I stand by that, by the schedule page that pops up when you book a flight on Apple's Web site and by the public charter prospectus I have in front of me.

Thanks for your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vingenzo (talkcontribs) 18:26, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Retired destinations

Hey, now. I was told that retired destinations are okay on airline destination lists, not airport destination lists... that is, if they are sourced.

Of course Houston has sources. I remembered that ATA went to Houston twice, so I looked on web.archive.org and found it.

Replaceable fair use Image:KMDW.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:KMDW.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 22:15, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Response

Okay, I was REALLY confused until I paid very close attention to what you were talking about. I did not realize that the stuff you took out was information that had been copied from your user page. The problem there is that you simply mass-deleted a significant amount of content from his user page (leaving only a broken navbar link) without putting anything in your edit summary. When it shows up like that, it looks like one user trying to vandalize another user's page. Had I realized what you were really doing (an edit summary really would have helped...), I probably would have ignored it.

That being said...it still was vandalism. If he wants to copy your user page, he's entitled to do that. Everything here is published under a free content license; he can copy it to his heart's desire. Unless he's doing something specifically to attack you (like copying it, but adding userboxes for stuff like NAMBLA) I don't see that there's an actual problem with him doing that (other than it being generally annoying). You reverting his changes to his own user page would probably be considered vandalism.

I'm not going to bother to revert you changing it back, because I don't really care now that I've seen the whole story. Just keep in mind that it's probably not entirely kosher for you to do that. Gromlakh (talk) 03:57, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CSHS Eagle.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:CSHS Eagle.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:53, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, no, keep it if you already did the work, i just couldn't think of any other note-worthy Columbus named cities. Does Columbus, GA even have a commercial airport where a DAB would be neded (aka Chicago O'Hare versus Chicago Midway notations), if not, then Dabbing CMH on airport articles isn't needed, but as I said, if you already went through the trouble, it doesn't cause any harm... except maybe some anon reverting everything himself a few months in the future and then indirectly calling you, and the entire wiki aviation community, idiots for doing so... you know how it goes around here. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 16:35, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

NWA's Mumbai and Seoul-Incheon flights on Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

Hey Sox23! I am having a little bit of a issue that i think you can help me with. IP users keep removing "Mumbai" and "Seoul-Incheon" to the list of destinations for Northwest Airlines. They say to include nonstop flights only per the SeaTac airport's website guidelines. But doesn't WP:AIRPORTS say to include direct flights as well in addition to nonstop flights? Isn't Mumbai and Seoul direct on NWA (eventhough BOM and ICN both go through an NWA hub but the aircraft doesn't change)? Can you look into this and see what u think? Thanks! Boston Logan Former destinations

I am sorry if I didn't follow the guidelines for the airports format, but in looking I didn't see any information on that page which would prohibit this sort of information. Further, I think its relevant and just the sort of data that could be easily tracked on an airport's wikipedia article when it is not found comprehensively accumulated elsewhere. I wonder why the airport format wiki would prohibit it. I appreciate you taking the time fill me in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by IOBOMB (talkcontribs) 15:19, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

American Eagle at MRY

I removed the notation that American Eagle was ending MRY service on May 31. Discussion forums like the Airliners.net forums are not reliable sources and cannot be used as sources for information in Wikipedia. In addition, that thread is inconclusive, with several sources stating that the service is merely switching from the Saab 340 to the ERJ-140. I just checked aa.com and it shows ERD service starting on 6/1 (the first MRY-LAX flight on that date is a SF3 since it is the RON from the night before; that one switches to a jet on 6/2). -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 00:35, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:St.Petelogo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:St.Petelogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:09, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

MDW Route Map

Hi Sox23!

Sorry, but I haven't been able to work on the MDW route map. I have been so busy lately that I totally forgot to get working on it. Also, I still can't find a good template or the one I used for Tucson so I still need to find one. Again, sorry for the delay!

Feel free to contact me on MSN Messenger (Bartonjones@msn.com) if you have any other questions or issues...

Have a nice day!

Question regarding your user page

Hi Sox23. I noticed on your user page you had arranged your Airlines and Aircraft Flown into more organized tables. As you can probably tell from my own talk page, my lists are far less organized than your tables. Could you explain to me how you organized the tables as so? Thanks!
