McCarran International Airport

Your add of SkyValue is in the wrong place. I moved it to what is likely to be the correct place before. Simply put that airline is not top billing at the terminals in this airport. Yes, Midway is still very much a hub. The airline has significantly decreased size there, but it is still the main operation in the east coast. I've reverted the edit. Hi, I noticed you marked these flights as scheduled to end on January 7, 2007. I tried and was not able to find any evidence of this. Could you tell me how you found this information? Ah, I see, that's interesting. Frontier makes no mention of this schedule change anywhere on their site. I always wondered why they wasted time flying to both BWI and DCA anyway. I guess they figured there was little point in having both flights since both airports serve roughly the same area and most people flying to either were headed to DC anyhow. --BetaCentauri 22:25, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

ATA Fleet Table

Please do not change the fleet table. Your table gives information that should be in the fleet area, but not in the table. Please look at all the major airlines and see how they are layed out. This is the most favored layout as well.--Golich17 02:14, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Why would I mind? As long as it is relevant. If their is important information such as Entry Into Service or if something happened with a certain aircraft, or if they announced some sort of order, that's when it is relevant to be in the table, but outside of the table, that's pretty much anything regarding the fleet, so feel free to insert relevant items, such as some of the information formerly in the table, which was in your version of the table.--Golich17 02:28, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Maybe you could upload SOME of the photos and put them aside the fleet table like the Boeing 737-800 already their. Maybe you should add the one of the Boeing 757's. Even though the photo's are useful, not many people actually take the time to click and go and view the photo, so I suggest you add one or two photos (with copyright information) throughout the page.--Golich17 03:04, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

ATA Pictures

Well, I do believe if you click Help in the navigation box, and then click copyright tags, they will show all the tags with descriptions on which one to use. Then, choose the one and copy it, paste it in the description box of the image upload page, and then submit the photo. That should do it.--Golich17 03:35, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

The creator of the photos has a strict copyright on the photos. He stated that I can ask permission to use the photo, which I have done for you. kidnapped episode list

Just wanted to say thanks for your improvement to my quick summary of the last episode - you may or may not be interested in reading the "discussion" on the talk page about spoilers. I'd be interested in what you think, as you seemed to get that the style of this list seems to be to not reveal everything in the description, which I have kept to, which you kept to, and which another editor is taking issue with, when I tried to get one small thing out of there. Spirit FLL H7

Well, I work at NK Ops and we NEVER use H7, I think we used it once like 4 months ago as an gate because we had to go there and gate control had no choice, the gate is leased by Air Canada and they're the only ones who have rights for it. In fact, we've actually moved aircraft over to Terminal 3 with H7 wide open because they're not allowed to give it out, just like H1,3,5 are leased by Spirit and so only Spirit uses them, and H2 is Air Jamaica Priority. The other day I say them doing a Port of Spain flight, and yesterday I saw an Xtra Airways aircraft on Terminal 4. No, we never use H7 cause of Air Canada... H2 we get because it's an international gate so Air Jamaica can't own it, however JM does use H3 occasionally with our permission, gate control has serious problems with gate spacing especially at T4, I mean one delay can ruin everything and we're often sticking aircraft over on the F gates... I wish they'd finally expand that terminal like they have promised for so long. Anywho, I say the flight listed on the FIDS, but it might've been their last, and I say Xtra Airways aircaft in Termianl 4 twice, and a Skyvalue Flight (45, I think) to POS it was a charter most likely, also using an Xtra Airways aircraft, so maybe they're just doing charters there until further notice... they are FLL based, and then... they only had 2 people book on the flight because they never advertised down here, and they're flying to an undesirable airport... hence why Ryanair might never work here. Ok, i'm getting carried away now, it looks like unlikes Vegas and the other destinations on their site, there are no more FLL flights for SkyValue, so I guess it's true. -- SmthManly / ^ManlyTalk / ^{ManlyContribs} 04:10, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Detroit-Metro

Should we write Detroit-Metro? Detroit City airport only has one air carrier that doesn't even offer commercial service. I believe we should just leave it be. Plus, I live in Detroit.--Golich17 02:17, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

As a former Detroit area resident, I agree. DTW is the only airport for the vast majority of commercial flights in Metro Detroit. Accounting for Detroit-City is akin to accounting for Jeffco Airport alongside Denver International Airport. Aguadilla is fine, that's been announced, I'm saying I know SJO is in the works, because i've seen the schedules for SJO and there's been all the same talk as PAP, CCS, SXM, and now BQN... I added it before when I revised the starts dates, and some anon came by and removed it, he also removed Boston since it has a stopover in MYR, though I thought we included stopover destinations, he also removed LAS, even though flight 236/231 are FLL-ATL-LAS-ATL-FLL and usually go about a quarter full with LAS pax, i didn't bother reverting because some of it wasn't official... No, February 14 begins a flight that operates as FLL-MYR-BOS, and of course, a BOS-MYR-FLL, most of the connecting traffic in that area is better routed through PVD, but the destination is being marketted as both FLL-MYR, and FLL-BOS. As for SJO, I was handed a new schedule to update the airport FIDS schedules and begin organizing for these new destinations in flight operations, PAP, SXM, LAS, LAX, MYR/BOS, BQN, CCS, and SJO were included, they've announced everything else... i think we just need to file for permission with the costa rican government, but so far so good on the rest of the list I was given... and all of these, including SJO are (well, were) rumors, so far SJO's the only one that still remains an intercompany rumor... Ok, as soon as we get confirmation I'll add it. Actually, if you notice that AFD, i sorta almost left wikipedia due to it, and am now about to wikibreak because of that shit about the destinations. See, I made an angry comment on the page, and then, within it i mentioned how we list airlines in airport articles, so then a user suggested we also delete the list of airlines on each airport article for the same reason... so, i called him "crazy to think that would happen" and he put an NPA tag on me for calling him crazy!!!! So... with my life already pretty tense personally, and then having a bunch of people trying to delete pretty much half of what i maintain on wikipedia, and then having some jerk put an NPA tag on me after being here 25 months, sysop over a year on top of all the crap that had already pissed me off on Sunday, I left, but then some people talked me into coming back, but regardless, it seems the vote's going good now. But yeah, BQN is definately confirmed, one our supervisors who's puerto rican put up for the manager position there and the miami herald reported it... Copyright infringement?

Hi Sox23,

I was checking in on the Midway Airport article and noticed some new photos (Image:Midway_Airport_Terminal_(Allen_Yao).jpg and Image:Midway Airport Runway 4R (Brett B. Despain).jpg) that were uploaded to Wikipedia by you. They are sorely needed and look great in the article, but I noticed that they came from Airliners.net, which has a very clear copyright policy. You, however, listed these under a Creative Commons Attribution license, which seems incorrect. I'm wondering if you've contacted the photographers of these photos to obtain these licenses. If you haven't, it might be a good idea to do so to prevent these photos from being listed for deletion due to copyright infringement.

Thanks for the quick follow-up. I can't say for sure what license those photos should be listed under, but I did a little checking around in response to your question. If the author gave you permission to use the image only in the article, the license might be invalid. The author needs to expressly give permission to use the image under one of the open licenses used here on Wikipedia, preferrably the GFDL. I found some helpful info at Wikipedia:Copyrights under the section Using copyrighted work from others. There were some standard letters, located at Wikipedia:Example requests for permission, to request this permission. Hope this helps.

If we've got these guys' permission, though, I'd love to see the high-res version uploaded rather than just the medium-res. -- Mindfrieze 01:14, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Nice job on getting those permissions. The license version you picked is probably what I'd put on it. Another option would be to put the {{GFDL-user|user}} license on and manually replace the user input with the photographer's name - probably more hassle than it's worth though. ... Editors that don't provide an edit summary tend to look like vandals

I have noticed you commonly don't enter an edit summary as you didn't when you edited Denver International Airport (see this edit). This causes me problems. When I patrol for vandalism, I use the summary to make a preliminary decision on whether or not the post is a vandal edit or not. If the summary is present (or at least a section header, the part inside the /* */), I commonly decide the edit is legit and move on.

However, if no edit summary is available, I typically resort to loading the diff for the edit. This takes time. For that reason, if your edits are all valid, I ask that you provide edit summaries. For more on how to enter an edit summary, please read Help:Edit summary.

Incidentally, it is not just me that appreciate having edit summaries. When you omit your summary, you may be telling various bots that you are vandalizing pages. For this reason, please consider providing that summary. It is very important. You can enter that summary via the edit summary box on edit pages (as shown below).

The edit summary appears in black italics in the following places:

• Page history - list of changes to the page you edited
• User contributions - list of all your edits
• Watchlist* - list of recent changes to watched pages (logged-in users only)
• diff page - shows the difference between two edits
• Recent changes - list of all recent edits
• Wikipedia IRC channels - real time list of all edits
• Related changes - list of recent changes to pages linked to the page you edited
• List of new pages: shows the edit summary of the creation.

* Use the enhanced watchlist to see all recent changes in the watched pages, not just the last change in each page.

Images

It's easier for you to change your preferences to enlarge the tumbnail size. You can put it up to 300px and it's better for dial up users (and there are probably more of them than hispeed users) who then dont have to wait for the images to load. As to there being other pages with larger images, well I reduce them as I find them. Take a look at Montreal with large pictures and then Motreal with the pictures reduced. Some of those images in the "Downtown Montreal" section were 600px in size. Large pages are a problem and while images help wih illustrating articles there is no need to make the page oversized and hard to load. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 08:25, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

NK Fleet Age

The site you linked for the average fleet age includes the MD80s but those are no longer operated by Spirit and have all been retired, Spirit now only operates A319s and A321s exclusively, perhaps we can get the website to revise its average, or we can do it ourselves based on its information. -- SmthManly / ^ManlyTalk / ^{ManlyContribs} 23:18, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

I've changed it now, but I removed the source as it contradicts it, basically you get the fleet age of the A319s which is 1 year now, and the fleet age of the A321s which is 4 years, then there's 8 321s and 20 319s, so 1x20 = 20, and 4x8= 32, add them together and then divide them by the total which is 28, so 52/28 = 1.5 and some change. -- SmthManly / ^ManlyTalk / ^{ManlyContribs} 00:44, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Midway airport

If you are fixing all of the redirects to actually change the text in the article, please reconsider. In my opinion, the article text should use the name of the airport as it was when the reference was made. This is especially true for defunct airlines. You can pipe it to the current article leaving the text as it was. Not sure about any guideline here, just my opinion. Vegaswikian 01:46, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Block for vandalism

What you can do is use one of the vandal notices on the talk page for the anon account from here. Any user can put the templates on the user talk page. If you do that and if the vandal continues, you can post a notice to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism and let an admin look at it to see if a block can be placed on the IP address.
