I was actually reverting his other edits, but i was too lazy to do it manually... i love the revert button. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 00:26, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, you have to apply for adminship, and when you get it you get all these neat tools which allow you to do certain things regular users cannot. I got adminship on November 10, 2005... the revert button is one of the best tools and comes with the privilege only. I say you got enough experience and trust from plenty of users to apply for it, but if you have any angry stints or your record is tainted by early vandalism or recent anger it's best you not try it yet, people want someone who they can trust with these tools seeing as they can do a lot of things, but if you're up for it I can nominate you. Check it out. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 01:30, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
No, it's free... so, um, tell me some more about yourself though, like, how long have you been here, what achievements you've done, etc. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 01:38, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, you got a pretty good track record, which is great, but you haven't been here 6 months yet, so you may not get too much support, though several users have become admins with less than that time. You can figure out your wikiversary by going to "my contributions" and clicking earliest then seeing what your earliest edit is; it's most likely your first edit was done soon after you registered. Then, six months after that date you can apply for adminship (better if someone nominates you, though), but until then try and do something big! I, for example, cleaned up hundreds of airport articles and air crash articles, helped come up with, alongside wikiproject airports members, the current standard format for airport articles, and spent a long time cleaning up school articles, but my largest contribution was the fact I turned Columbine High School massacre from a 5 paragraph, unsourced stint into a major featured article which ranks #420 on average (unless there's a school shooting when it ranks in the top 100) on the article rankings list. All that really helped get people to trust me, but the best thing you can do, without having to go that far, is to get known by major users. Go aroundf and interact a lot with the users you see often on your watchlist as they tend to be the major contributors. Also either work on, or get an article to featured status, though only do this if you're up for it (as it's quite a task). The best thing to do here, however, is to make a good impression on a lot of trusted users and it should be a breeze, and you still got at least a month or more to do all that, if you have the time, so go for it! I didn't get adminship for almost 11 months, so it's no hurry. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 01:53, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

ExpressJet start date at MRY

I just realized I just unintentionally reverted your edits to the start date for ExpressJet Airlines on the Monterey Peninsula Airport article. My thinking is that since both destinations start the same date, and ExpressJet has no service to MRY before that date, it looks better and less redundant to have a single notation of the start date at the end of the line rather than after each individual destination. -- Hawaiian717 00:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

San Antonio International Airport

Hi Sox23. I reverted most of your recent edits to SAT. Please note that there are no spaces before or after an en dash. Also "American Eagle" comes before "AmericanConnection" alphabetically since "American" is one word in American Eagle. I did, however keep the move of the ExpressJet service in a holding area until it's determined which gate they will use. Regards. Clipper471 05:17, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Frequencies

PAP is 3x Weekly until April 1, then daily. SJO is 3 times weekly until April 15, then daily, SXM is 3 times weekly and remains that way, BQN is 5 times weekly except between 6/15 and 8/15 when it becomes daily, then on 8/16 it goes back to 5 times weekly. Caracas is still awaiting government approval, and so has no set schedule, just a proposed start date. Tell me if I missed any, it feels like I might've. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 02:40, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Chiclayo

Where did you hear NK was starting CIX? I've heard rumors of LIM and POS, but not CIX! -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:22, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Wow, some of the rumors people have about this airline are crazy... modelling after Ryanair???? They talk as if that's the official adopted strategy and not an "educated guess" proposed further by the a.net cabal. I'm sure mnagement's just tring to make a bit more cash, it probably won't last too long either. I do not know yet how they're going to manage all these flights with 12 gates, of which none are owned by spirit, and operate out of a terminal where 6 other airlines operate. We're having so much trouble now with gates at FLL it's incredible, I like the schedules they opted for, though. Still, I'd like to see Spirit announce this firmly before we put anything up, considering that airlines take the rights to routes all the time and never use them. Look at Emirates and it's Bogota rights... or Alitalia and Sydney, it'll probably never happen, so let's keep it down until NK announces it and then we'll have no reason to hold it back. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:32, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

ORD and The Amazing Race

Hi! I was just concerned about your recent edit to O'Hare Airport. It seems that your current wording seem to suggest that there are direct flights to KEF from ORD, but in reality, what the teams did was either connect thru BOS or BWI. Maybe you should reword your edit. Just my two cents. Cheers. /ɪlεktʃɹɪk bluː/ 02:23, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Userpage

Hahaha, thanks;-) I had been meaning to make one for awhile and randomly stumbled upon yours and saw that it had basically all I wanted. Nice design.:-) NW036 22:54, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Sooo...

What do you think about Spirit now? *shudder* -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:16, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I just had a job interview, and I have another one Saturday... two more I'm waiting word on... so, that should tell you something. Also, read Ryanair... that's the original ULCC. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:21, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

US Airways on Monday, AirTran on Saturday, and I'm waiting on word from American Eagle and Southwest... so, yeah. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:25, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
US cause it's at MIA and i like right next to that airport, while FLL is 27 miles north. I don't really mind, I'd be happy anywhere else. Spirit was getting so hellish and crappy to work for... i actually had my interview before they announced all this, that just shows you how i felt about it... this just confirms to me I must go ASAP, before it all goes to hell for sure. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:35, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
I applied for Ramp (Baggage Handling), but they called me for customer service, then they said it was a mistake and it was actually a ramp position, and she said that i had so much customer service experience she'd rather I be there, so she said that she was going to check and see if there's a CSA position open and if not they'd give me the ramp position and told me she'd get back to me by Friday. I'm hoping they get back to me ASAP, the suspense is killing me. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:44, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
oh, definately I will... thanks for listening, most people here tend to not care beyond wikibusiness. How old are you by the way? -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:52, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Whenever I miss a full day here, I end up annoyed because i know I'm going to be spending hours here fixing the problems i didnt fix on my daily route. I've been here since December 15, 2004, and actually, I began editing in June of 2004 as an anon, for the most part though... I can't seem to shake my obsession with this place, it caters to my know-it-all-ness. I'm a huge know-it-all, a walking encyclopedia, everyone says... and dictionary, sometimes i think I have asperger syndrome, but who knows. As is, I just enjoy what I do, it's a nice hobby, but sometimes I feel that for the amount of time and experience I have I should be rubbing thumbs with the big boys here, I just don't have the will power or time to do it... but, in a nutshell, to answer your question... HELL YES. I'm 22, btw. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 04:08, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh, heh, I got the job, I just came from the drug test and I'm doing my fingerprints tomorrow, and then after the fingerprints they're taking a photocopy of my passport and social security card for proof of citizenship. I'm going to resign from Spirit on Friday, but that's because that's the end of the pay period so if I give two weeks on Friday, then I'll get a full paycheck after I go. As of this morning, I'm now with US Airways at MIA. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 02:07, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Sorry I forgot to notify you, I was busy with work and such. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 03:33, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Semi Protection Response

Hey Sox23- Sure, I can help you. To request page protection, you need to file a request on this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection There's a template on the page you need to fill out, and explain the request. An admin will review the case, and determine if protection is needed. In the description, citing specific timespans helps the admins locate a particularly bad string of vandalism. They usually respond quickly (my responses were answered within 3 hours), and provided the page in question has enough vandalism cited, the request is usually granted. Any other questions, feel free to ask. Hope this helps! Neo16287 02:09, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

G4 LAS Hub or Focus City?

I am curious to find out your justification for insisting that LAS is a HUB for Allegiant Air and not a focus city? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ghettorichie01 (talkcontribs) 14:19, 29 March 2007 (UTC).

Cayman Air Question

Hey Sox23- I was just wondering if you knew of any other sources regarding the pullout of Cayman from BOS, only because I can not find any myself, and the airliners.net forum didn't have any either. I'm not trying to question you or anything, im just curious as to why they decided to pull out now. If you find anything, can you let me know? Thanks. Neo16287 15:22, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the follow up. I appreciate it. Neo16287 17:32, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

"In their own defense"

Hey - thanks for fixing the grammar on the Southwest page. I meant to put:

The other passengers restrained Burton who ultimately died of the resulting injuries.

I think it sounds biased to put "In their own defense". While ultimately I think they were right to keep him out of the cockpit, what do you think of the neutrality of "In their own defense"? --Matt 17:19, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Matt- it was no problem fixing the page. In regards to the statement "In their own defense," I agree with you when you said they were right to keep him out of the cockpit so for that reason, I think that its fine to keep the article worded as it currently is...Truthfully-I don't think this is a big enough issue to involve neutrality. Hope this helps...Sox23 18:58, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, I disagree that neutrality isn't important here. The statement implies that Wikipedia saying that action was correct, where that's not Wikipedia's place. --Matt 19:01, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
We have no idea what Burton's intentions were so I think it is okay to say "In their own defense" And anyone who thinks it would be okay for him to break into the cockpit is insane. -- I can't think of anything better to write Sox23 19:10, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
At the same time, I think it's important to let the facts speak for themselves. I think it's obvious that the other passengers' intention was to restrain him, and therefore "In their own defense" is both redundant and non-neutral. Do you have a problem with me asking on article talk page what others think? --Matt 19:19, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Nope - I really don't care what goes in the article as long as the main info about Flight 1763 is still included...feel free to do w/e Sox23 19:21, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Cool - thanks man --Matt 19:47, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Fleet Age Update

Hey Sox23, I was looking at this edit and I was curious, do you keep track of updating the average age as well? Since each month the average age of the fleet (if its composition remains unchanged) gets 0.833... years older... I wasn't sure how you were figuring this one out. —Cliffb 05:26, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Cool, I just wasn't sure how you were updating it. I wanted to make sure we weren't getting set up for a problem down the road.. Thanks for your detailed edits on this! —Cliffb 19:54, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Chalk's

Oh, ok... they just have a huge sign for Big Sky all over their ticket counter that it would lead you to believe... I guess it's outdated then. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 04:38, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Midwest Airlines @ PIT

Hahaha, don't worry about it, it's no problem. The Pittsburgh International site, though I keep an eye on many others, is one that I watch religiously and know when everything should be happening:-D. NW036 13:41, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Request for adminship

Hi there. I have removed your application from the list. Although you are a good editor, the current trend (one support and twelve oppose, using the same rationale that you need more experience) makes it very unlikely to end successfully, and therefore I decided to close it early via the snowball clause. Please, don't be discouraged by this! It takes just three or four months of working with administrator-related actions (participating in deletion discussions, helping find and tag articles that need to be speedy deleted, etc) to be considered a reliable candidate. I hope to see you contributing harder than ever! Good luck! -- ReyBrujo 05:04, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Re: Semi-protection

WP:RFPP is where you go to request page protection. As for Global Aero Logistics, it's one IP, so I can't semi-protect that; just revert and warn as needed, and report to WP:AIV after you've given a final warning. --Coredesat 17:12, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Sox...

Hey, people are really confused because it is not entirely clear who Global Aero Logistics, Inc, is? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.215.26.149 (talk) 17:29, 6 April 2007 (UTC).

GA-Midway

Hey Sox23, some pictures would be nice for the concourses in the Chicago Midway International Airport article. I will continue adding references and maybe in about a week it can be renominated for GA Status. Marcusmax 19:06, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Just one more thing, what do you think we should do about "incidents" table. Marcusmax 19:53, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Sure does help. Thanks Marcusmax 21:49, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
