Equally the reminder to "sign" talk page posts I guess - Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you!. Cheers --Nigel (Talk) 09:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Piccies info edit

Sorry not to get back to you - been away. I've uploaded a few pics (tho only to Wiki itself not "commons"). No real probs - go to "Upload file" on sidebar menu and take it from there. Worth going to/looking at these pages before/while you do it (& do remember licensing issues) - Wikipedia:Uploading images & Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. The only problem I have had is that it is totally case sensitive - took me ages to work out the reason I could not get the piccy to appear was that it was .JPG not .jpg!. Image:Ragweed.JPG edit

Hello, Paulm27. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Ragweed.JPG) was found at the following location: User:Paulm27/Sandbox. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 08:12, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Administrator template edit

I've removed the {{administrator}} template from your userpage since you are not, in fact, an administrator. — Coren (talk) 04:23, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bayonne edit

I know this was long ago, but thanks for correctly using the -3C line to differ between humid subtropical and humid continental climates, as you correctly wrote Bayonne, New Jersey was humid subtropical. Press olive, win oil (talk) 14:52, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Koppen climate classification edit

There is a debate on the Koppen talk page right now over whether 0C or -3C coldest month average should be the borderline between C and D climates. Press olive, win oil (talk) 22:13, 12 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Problems with upload of File:Talking Movies Logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Talking Movies Logo.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or provided a license tag. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, select the appropriate license tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you can't find a suitable license tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

First ever Oxford Wiki Meetup edit

You are invited to the first ever Oxford Wiki Meetup which will take place at The Four Candles, 51 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2BE on Sunday 4 November 2012 from 1.00 pm.

I hope as many people as possible will be able to attend so that we can make this a regular event. If you have never been to one, this is an opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in an informal atmosphere for Wiki and non-Wiki related chat and for beer or food if you like. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Oxford related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you. Replaceable fair use File:Tom Brook, BBC reporter.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Tom Brook, BBC reporter.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 22:39, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Non-free content policy and guideline edit

Please do not place or replace any non-free images to any pages except for actual articles, as you did at User:Paulm27/sandbox. Such use is a clear violation of point number 9 of our policy concerning the use of non-free images. Continuing to do so can be viewed as disruptive behaviour and you may be blocked from editing.
