The next page title

I remember looking at Wikipedia:BJAODN:The Next Page Title, which directed me to the numeric list at the time, before it suggested that there were titles with more support further down on the page. Days later, after it had become clear that there might have been, I was afraid to look. Which title has the most support at the moment? I'm going to violate the spirit of my own rule here and respond on this page (the rules above stipulate that I expect any responses to notes left on other people's talk pages to be there and not here). I've integrated your changes into my section, and the title with strong support at the moment is These Bad Jokes need to be cleaned up to conform to a higher standard of Deleted Nonsense quality. I was just about to ask someone, but thanks for sticking up for me on the Kids' WB article with the Pokémon airdate. That anonymous editor got on my nerves, I went to his talk page and told him to stop, but he continued. I even BLATANTLY put in the editing description that dates are limited to Kids' WB! and told him to note the dates for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Transformers Cybertron, both which originally aired on Cartoon Network but still have Kids' WB!'s dates. I was trying to remove that figure, actually. You want to talk with User:David Levy, I think. He cited a percentage of the "US population", which I suspected, whatever it meant, did not refer to the Nielsen DMA's. Morgan Wick 02:12, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

I am, in fact, basing this figure upon the Nielsen DMAs. The phrase "the country" is ambiguous (and reads as though it refers to geography), and "U.S. population" was my sloppy attempt to clarify the wording. I've switched to the terminology used by Nielsen ("television homes").

I arrived at 95.043% by compiling a list of the 39 DMAs without CW affiliates, determining their combined coverage percentage (as reported by Nielsen) and subtracting this sum from 100%. Another poster to the rec.arts.tv newsgroup independently reached the same figure by adding the coverage percentages of the 171 DMAs with CW affiliates on a running basis.

WWAC-DT

I think this guy is trying to pull our chain with a hoax here, he added the affilate to the CW list, but the second result in Google leads to WMCN, a home shopping-infomercial channel with no spare UPN/WB/Fox subchannels, at least looking at the TitanTV schedule page. Jersey Shore Communications also leads to a website with no navigation at all, and the article seems to make claims that are outrageous, a Google search with commas only leads to listings involving a burglar alarm company of the same name. The WWAC article copies the new Fox O&O logo and makes claims about WMGM-TV that seem to be very unsubstanciated. I also suspect that WWACArtist would be one of his sockpuppets. ETA: It looks like UncleFloyd isn't really heavily involved, he just adjusted articles for readability, but still looking at things, there are a couple of new users trying to create trouble by creating fake TV stations for fun and to delude people into thinking that WWAC is real. If it's a hoax it's a mildly plausible one; WWAC does turn up on a TVQ, and in the right area of the country too (but not the right owner or channel), Jersey Shore Communications does exist (but the article on it is questionable) and the link to WWAC-TV's web site goes to a real (under-construction) web site owned by Jersey Shore. It's mostly ignorance of the condition; see Asperger's Syndrome. (It's not like being a psychopath, insane, or full-blown autism, which is the image "mentally ill" conjures up.) Typical American centred people have to make known to all that not everyone speaks like they are from America or are Americans. Understanding culture is not the same for America as Japan and culture needs understanding for peace. AfD tag to Silo article

It looks like one of the Silo fans got too ambitious and the AfD tag has been removed by one of them. As far as I know the AfD status has not been resolved by Wikipedia. Didn't the ArbCom say you were supposed to stay out of everywhere except your own userspace and the ArbCom case while the ArbCom case is in progress? And haven't you been blocked for running afoul of that? I'm sympathetic to your plight in this instance but only on principle. Well, the icons are there, and they have names like Image:Symbol_keep_vote.svg. So why would they be there if I can't use them for the purposes described by their names? Well, they're Commons images, and they seem to be pretty well-used on Commons, especially the support and oppose ones. They are also used on Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser, for some reason. You -can- use them. And in fact, they seem to be more used on the commons due to the different languages involved in that system. Whilst it's true that a blanking ought often to be understood as a {{db-author}}, such blanking sometimes results from a newbie's non-conversance with editing. Where an unblanked iteration of an article does appear to contain an assertion of notability, I think it best generally to revert to that revision and then, if the topic seems nevertheless to be unencyclopedic, to {{PROD}}. In this case, to be sure—as likely in most where an author blanks a page soon after his/her first edit thereto, you were quite correct to construe Andrewnpeters' blanking as a deletion request, inasmuch as he, ostensibly inadvertently, mistitled the article, having subsequently created Bruce Wasserstein. However, the note saying that the article has been translated from another Wikipedia is one that I always leave, following the advice of other Wiki translators, so please don't remove it. Well, coming off the heels of me tagging it as unreferenced made it look like a response to it. If there's a consensus that that's the way to go, maybe a) it should be more prominently declared that citing another wiki, in the case of translation from another Wikipedia, is okay, so that outside proofreaders like me don't hunt around for POV and citation problems, and b) there should be a template similar to the one for the 1911 Encyclopedia Brittanica for your message. Recent edit to C-SPAN

Hi there, Morgan Wick. I have the C-SPAN article on my watchlist as I'm currently trying to work through the FAC process for this article, and I noticed your recent edit from the 21st. I wanted to point out tthat this fact is repeated in the Audience section where it is supported by this U.S. News & World Report source.

As I interpret WP:LEADCITE a citation is not strictly necessary in the introduction, unless you feel strongly that this fact is likely to be challenged. Based on this fact's inclusion in the body of the article I think removing the {{fact}} tag would be appropriate. (For your convenience: the ref tag <ref name=Bedard/> corresponds to the U.S. News & World Report article.)

I would correct this citation issue myself, however I am a consultant to C-SPAN and have been working via Talk and WikiProject pages on their behalf to improve this article, and others related to C-SPAN. As a paid advocate I follow Jimbo's advisory to COI editors (explained in his Paid Advocacy FAQ) that I shouldl avoid all direct edits to articles. Also, I know you prefer this sort of message on article Talk, but I figured this one really did relate to you most.
