Cuora serrata

I was going through articles that had speciesboxes and which lacked a taxonomic authority and came across Cuora serrata. From reading the Wikipedia article I gather it might be notable as a hybrid, but Cuora serrata might not be the title to use if the hybrid is notable (The Reptile Database lists C. serrata with different authorities as synonyms under both Cuora galbinifrons and Cuora mouhotii which are the putative parents of the hybrid). Is there a hybrid deserving an article, and should it have Cuora serrata as a title? If Cuora serrata should not be a title of an article should it be deleted or redirected somewhere else?

(edit to add); my understanding is that "synonyms" listed in The Reptile Database are often chresonyms, and the taxonomic authority citations for Reptile Database synonyms are not what the ICZN code would suggest to cite as authorities. Plantdrew (talk) 03:59, 8 October 2023 (UTC)

@Plantdrew: first up yes most synonyms listed for Reptiles are in fact Chresonyms and there are a lot of them. They also get conusing at times so tend to get listed so as to avoid such confusion.

With regards to Cuora serrata turtles are highly capable of hybridisation and as such suffer from significant introgression. Many common taxa have turned out to be hybrids. It should not go under serrata as the name is unavailable by virtue of it being a hybrid. Other examples include Cuora pritchardi, Cuora iversoni. There are also a significant number of unnamed hybrids.We could if you like write an articleabout hybridization in turtles but keep names out of the title. Otherwise I would support deleting this article, perhaps redirect it to a parent species. Cheers Scott
