Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ace of Aces (video game), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Desert Fox. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Keep your head-up

Hi, I was watching your RfA early on but then got pulled away from Wikipedia these last few days and was curious what the outcome was. (I haven't added my comment yet.) You had a difficult RfA but it's clear that your chances are good next time around. I wouldn't fret about it. Things tends to go much better the next time around and my guess is that in a year's time you'll pass with flying colors. Jason Quinn (talk) 17:15, 17 June 2016 (UTC)

DYK for A Bird Story

On 18 June 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article A Bird Story, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the video game A Bird Story was released as a link between the award-winning To the Moon and its sequel? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/A Bird Story. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, A Bird Story), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Was-sceptre

Hi. I wish to object to your close at Talk:Was (sceptre). Yes, it was needlessly early. Worse, you didn't allow time for anyone to respond to my contribution. Worse further is that I raised an important point not touch by any earlier !voter and this means that your assertion of "obvious consensus" was not correct. Please revert your close. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:04, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

@SmokeyJoe: Done. Taking another look, I actually agree with your name, I'm gonna leave a support vote there now. Anarchyte (work | talk) 03:22, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks.
Sorry to see your RfA not go straight through. Much of the community is ultra-conservative with RfA. I'm sure you'll fly through next time. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 06:37, 18 June 2016 (UTC)

RfA

It's a shame your RfA didn't go through, but hang in there. If not for your creation date, you would have passed. Since the only thing that prevented you from passing was time, the fortunate thing is that it's just a matter of time until you will pass. Content creation would also help. I'd like to reiterate the offer I made at your RfA to work with you developing some content. In particular, I created an article that is very close to meeting the GA criteria, and I have sources to expand it to meet the scope of a GA. What I don't have is the time to dig through those sources at the moment. I'd be happy to get you all set up with the offline sources and some suggestions on what needs expanding. It would likely lead to a co-credit for a GA. ~ RobTalk 02:30, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

@BU Rob13: I may follow up on that offer later, but at the moment I'm working on Fallout 4: Far Harbor. It's at peer review at the moment so I can get feedback. Not sure what a GA-Class DLC article looks like, which is an issue. Anarchyte (work | talk) 02:35, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
Hi Anarchyte. I just came here with essentially the same message as Rob, which is to encourage you to continue to edit and work behind the scenes and then try again in a year or so. I felt unable to support your candidacy because of the relatively short time you have been editing for, and because of your relative lack of experience in creating content. Perhaps "relative" needs to be understood in the context that I have been around for more than ten years, but I certainly don't think you need to wait that long! Where I disagree with Rob is the point about the co-credit for a GA. Take him up on that offer by all means, but I think you also need to gain content creation experience yourself - just claiming co-credit for taking an article already close to GA status over that threshold is unlikely to satisfy editors who expressed concerns about your lack of experience. I hope that all makes sense. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:32, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
@Cordless Larry: The co-credit wouldn't just be superficial work. The article in question is Marv Allemang, and entire sections relating to his high school and college career as well as his personal life need to be written. It's substantial content creation. ~ RobTalk 07:35, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification, Rob. I was prompted by your comment that it was "very close to meeting the GA criteria", but anything involving substantial content creation would be good. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:41, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, the closeness lies in the fact that the entirety of the professional career is already at or near GA quality and I have the sources to write the rest. Someone just needs to find time to take the sources and write the actual prose. Maybe "close" isn't the right word for it. My point is that it wouldn't be starting from scratch with no direction. ~ RobTalk 07:46, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

Ladyhawke

I'm rather mystified as to why you would move one page but not the other - this was part of the same move request, part of the same discussion (which, with only one !vote I had fully extepected to be relisted). Clearly there was either a concensus to move both or no concensus to move either. Can you please reconsider your close? PC78 (talk) 11:27, 24 June 2016 (UTC)

@PC78: I didn't relist it partly due to WP:SILENCE. As for not moving the dab page, there is no obvious reasoning behind the move. Googling Ladyhawk and Ladyhawke both come up with different results talking about different things, so I thought it'd be better to leave the disambiguation page at its long standing title and redirecting the other, instead of moving it. Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:37, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
My rationale, which I think was clearly expressed, was that Ladyhawke is the the more likely search term and should therefore be used for the dab page. Do I need to take this to move review? PC78 (talk) 11:55, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
Done. Anarchyte (work | talk) 12:01, 24 June 2016 (UTC)

I'm sorry to see that you didn't make it in this round, but I just wanted to give you a bit of support. I do think it might be a bit too soon, but I think that with you adminship is likely going to be a "when" and not an "if". Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:42, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Ace of Aces (video game)

On 28 June 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ace of Aces (video game), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Ace of Aces was one of Accolade's best-selling Commodore 64 video games in 1987? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ace of Aces (video game). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Ace of Aces (video game)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. No reliable resources

Hey Anarchyte, thanks for reviewing my draft page. [1] The reason to reject was 'no reliable resources'. Apparently I didn't make it clear that all data are from English Wikipedia, namely the pages listed at the bottom of the article. The added value of the page is not new data, but reordering lots of existing data in a very concise format. The presentation method used is not original either, but very mainstream, at least in Europe, possibly less in the US. [2] Cheers, Erik Zachte (talk) 09:27, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

@Erik Zachte:Ah okay, I'll undo my review so that another person (whom hopefully knows more about this topic than I do) can review it. I'll add a comment linking back here. Anarchyte (work | talk) 09:40, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Found nothing but the GitHub page

Hey Anarchyte, thanks for reviewing my draft page: [3] There is also a new http page that this project can be tested for other wiki projects: https://chipchaderez.github.io/Wiki-Link-Validator/

The reason I wanted to promote it in Wikipedia is since this project is focusing mainly on wiki projects. Rot links are also a known problem in wikipedia. Is there a way I can change my page to be more formal and compatible to the wikipedia project? Indigomontoya123 (talk) 14:58, 3 July 2016 (UTC)

@Indigomontoya123: Hi, read WP:GNG for the general notability guideline. Base your article on secondary, reliable, third-party sources that are independent of the subject. Also, try not to use Wikipedia as a means of promotion. Anarchyte (work | talk) 06:44, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the answer, I've added the link on an independent wiki page called - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_rot#External_links, please let me know if that need any further changes Indigomontoya123 (talk) 08:40, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Fallout 4: Far Harbor

Hello:

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Fallout 4: Far Harbor has been completed.

I have one comment. The following sentence appears in the "Gameplay" section but makes no sense as it stands because it doesn't connect to anything else in the article. This should either be removed or clarified.

"Since the player is in contact with the Valentine Detective Agency, the player must have met detective Nick Valentine.[3]"

I notice that the first citation is archived. You would probably be wise to archive the other URLs, as time allows, so that the article doesn't develop "link rot".

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind regards,

Fallout 4 Wikidata

Nice job on the Wikidata ;) I saw where you took what I did for Far Harbor and flushed it out for Automatron too. :) If you want to try to keep an eye on Wikidata, you can enable it for the normal watch list in your watchlist preferences. It's not perfect but it works. -- ferret (talk) 12:39, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

@Ferret: Thanks, I've got one question, though. How do you add identifiers? The Metacritic ID is current a statement, not an identifier. Anarchyte (work | talk) 12:43, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Try refreshing the page once you save it. I see it as an identifier on both items. Wikidata knows what "type" each claim is but it may not display correctly immediately after you add it. Don't forget you can add references too :) Especially for the scores. The reference fields the review template wants are "reference URL" (url), "published in" (work), "retrieved" (accessdate) and "title" (Title). There is also "publication date" (date) and "author" (author) but those aren't used for aggregators. We're still flushing out some of the details on how to map Wikidata references to CS1 fields. Swing by Template:Video game reviews if you're interested! -- ferret (talk) 12:50, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
@Ferret: Is there any way to wikilink Metacritic using Wikidata? Anarchyte (work | talk) 13:52, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
If you mean a link to the review site for External Links, Template:Metacritic video game would be what you want, however, it's never been Wikidata enabled. It would work similar to Template:Official website. If nothing specified, try to find it in Wikidata. The template already expects the same data that's stored in Wikidata, just needs updated. I may take a look at it later. -- ferret (talk) 13:55, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
I meant in the reference. So it says: "blah blah reviews". Metacritic. blah blah. instead of "blah blah reviews". Metacritic. blah blah. Anarchyte ([Special:Contributions/Anarchyte|work]] | talk) 13:59, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
Ah ok, won't be today but I should be able to do that. -- ferret (talk) 22:02, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
@Ferret: Also, would it be possible for the Wikidata's archive url be used on here too? I just finished archiving every single link (besides 1 which has an age verification barrier, which archivers won't complete) but the Metacritic's don't have an archive url. I'd also like to do this on Fragments of Him. Anarchyte (work | talk) 09:38, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
Unfortunately not right now. We're aware of that, czar, Izno and I have been discussing. We might be able to get it fixed soon. -- ferret (talk) 13:08, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
Whoops, sorry just woke up. There is an archive URL, which I see you found. What I was thinking was that there is not an archive date. -- ferret (talk) 13:10, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

I took a few minutes to add archive url but it wasn't working right away. I'll have to come back to it tomorrow or the day after, but I'll work to get it in. -- ferret (talk) 13:23, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Figured out what I did wrong yesterday and fixed it. However, CS1 complains if you have archive url without archive date. Until we have archive date in Wikidata, I won't be able to implement. We are pursuing it though so I'll come back later when we figure something out. -- ferret (talk) 11:19, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
@Ferret: Take a look at the WikiData proposal I made. Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:35, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
Edit: Didn't see that ping until just then. Guess that's what happens when you have a talk page tab open for a while. Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:36, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
And now we wait... :) But as soon as they implement it, I can add it into my module. -- ferret (talk) 11:37, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Request on 03:13:42, 8 July 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Gray, Andrew

Dear 'Anarchyte',

Thank you for your review of 'Draft:Robert James Cromie (1887-1936), Publisher of the Vancouver Sun from 1917', my proposal for a Wikipedia page dedicated to the life of Robert Cromie, which submission you declined on June 6 with the following 'reason':

"This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources."

I note that most, if not all, of the claims in the draft are corroborated in the page dedicated to the life of Robert Cromie in the online Dictionary of Canadian Biography, at http://www.biographi.ca/en/bio/cromie_robert_james_16E.html

Is the existence of that page sufficient support for the proposed article and its contents to be approved?

Your frank advice would be welcome.

Yours truly, Andrew Gray

Gray, Andrew (talk) 03:13, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

@Gray, Andrew:You need to show where you got the content from. If you use that site, you need to reference it using the advice given on WP:REFB. Anarchyte (work | talk) 06:50, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Not That William Wear

I suddenly discovered that a page had been created under my name ("William Wear"), and thankfully, you declined it.

Specifically, I am the William Wear mentioned in the Fast Company article, but the rest of the material on the page does not apply to me. I was and am a hacker, but (a) I am (hopefully) not very well known, and (b) have never worked for, supported, or condoned any action of any government in the world, let alone the government of the United States.

It is possible that the author confused me with someone else, my name is relatively common. 12.152.125.130 (talk) 19:32, 6 July 2016 (UTC)If you could please remove the article reference from the draft page, I would be very appreciative.

12.152.125.130 (talk) 19:32, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I don't quite understand what you mean by "remove the article reference from the draft page". Do you want the page to be deleted? If so (because your IP created the article), just add {{db-g7}} to the top of the page. Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:18, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Didn't notice the common IP, but if that means I can delete it, I will. Thanks for pointing that one out! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.152.125.130 (talk) 20:44, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.219.227.207 (talkcontribs) 15:43, 10 July 2016‎

Wikipedia runs off reliable sources. All I could find were [4] and [5]. Also, could you take a look at WP:CANVAS please? It seems like you may be affiliated with the company due to the way you wrote that message. Anarchyte (work | talk) 04:43, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

Stupid Question

Hey! So, this is just a really dumb question. I have been away awhile and getting back into the swing of things, this is a new thing to me. How does this work and is there a project page I can read on it? Rgoodermote (talk) 12:31, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

I don't know of any project pages that contain this information, but the best bet that I know of is Template:Video game reviews. What happens is the content is submitted onto the respective Wikidata page (Pokémon Go's is here) and then by putting "wikidata" next to the MetaCritic rating it uses that instead needing to edit the article every time. As for the reference, it's just <ref name="Wikidata name-MC(platform)"/>, i.e., PoGo on iOS would be <ref name="Pokémon GO-MCIOS"/> and Fallout 4: Far Harbor on PS4 would be <ref name="Fallout 4: Far Harbor-MCPS4"/>. If you're still confused, one of the gentlemen on Module talk:Video game wikidata may be able to explain it better. Anarchyte (work | talk) 12:36, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
No, that was a pretty good explanation! That is such an awesome thing, thank you very much. Rgoodermote (talk) 12:42, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) @Rgoodermote: This is pretty much brand spanking new. We implemented it in the last couple of weeks. Template:Video game reviews has the basic documentation for it, search on "wikidata". I have not gotten around to writing a short guide on editing Wikidata yet, though I plan to do so. If you have any questions, Template talk:Video game reviews or Module talk:Video game wikidata would work. Note that this "MC=wikidata" is only for Template:Video game reviews. -- ferret (talk) 13:13, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

I've just completed a rough first pass guide to editing Wikidata. I would like to add some illustrations later but its a work in progress. See WP:VG/WD. -- ferret (talk) 13:52, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

You are both very awesome. I thank you so much @Ferret: for that guide and the links. Also, I can not get over that this is a thing that exists now. This was not possible a few years ago, it's absolutely amazing. Thank you both for your help. Rgoodermote (talk) 19:54, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

If you get bored.... :)

I just populated review scores for every Fallout game in Wikidata. I didn't do archive URLs though. If you're feeling bored and want to tackle it... :) -- ferret (talk) 14:47, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

You have edited my answers with citations to multiple links and added them as inappropriate links.I have added the following links. These are highly credible links. I am not sure on what basis are you marking it as spam.

http://www.pickdup.com/pokemon-go-stats.html https://techcrunch.com/2016/07/11/pokemon-go-adds-9b-to-nintendos-value-global-rollout-continues-this-week/

If it is ok please undo your edits. Sushant.iiml (talk) 08:12, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

@Sushant.iiml: Hi, Pickdup.com seems a little spammy and other users have also reverted usage of that website. Instagram & Digital marketing as examples. Also, in the case of Pokémon Go, the extra reference isn't required as it's already referenced; we don't need to WP:OVERCITE things.
The Techcrunch link is fine and I'm pretty sure it's still in the article (I haven't removed it). Anarchyte (work | talk)
@Anarchyte: Fair point. Just FYI - Pickdup.com has verified data from Techcrunch and other sources like Facebook, and Twitter. It's mentioned on their website. The Instagram stat you are referring to is now not cited. It does not add value to the article. I agree that we should not add extra links or citations. However I would respectfully disagree with you on pickdup.com seeming like spam. It is a verified source on stats. I was using its data for my projects and it is quite credible and recommended by many.

Your contribution to the wikipedia community is certainly larger than mine. You are the best judge to take this further. I would leave this to you :-). In my personal opinion it should not qualify as spam. Thanks! Sushant.iiml (talk) 10:16, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

Eh, either way, it still fails WP:RS and in the case of Pokémon Go, WP:VG/S too. Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:45, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
@Anarchyte: I don't think it violates WP:RS. It's a verified source and seems to share verified data. Either ways it does not qualify as spam WP:REFSPAM, WP:SPAM Thanks! Sushant.iiml (talk) 13:40, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
It absolutely violates WP:RS. If you or your friend continue to promote your SEO site here, it will be blacklisted and your accounts will be blocked. Passive/agressive WP:COI nonsense is a waste of our time. Kuru (talk) 14:17, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

@Kuru: I am not sure about the false claims that you are making and now I am least interested in getting this site out of spam or have a discussion with you. I was trying to have a reasonable conversation but it seems like I am talking to someone getting unnecessarily personal and making accusations without any interest in discussing things or making a sound argument. While I appreciate your efforts to administer content on Wikipedia, this absurdity of marking content and websites that you may not fully understand or have heard of is not just visible here but is also visible in the community marking other Indian sites like yourstory.com as spam. This with due respect to your thoughts indicates the presence of racism. If you are absolutely sure it violates WP:RS please highlight why rather than getting personal with me and threatening me with blocking my account. It'll only educate us about your process and thought. Thanks! Sushant.iiml (talk) 15:00, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
pickdup.com is 100% an inappropriate site. I'd advise you to stop adding it as well. It's clearly being used to market/spam the course site. If this site is simply presenting stats from other site that we DO consider reliable, then we will simply use the original site. -- ferret (talk) 15:05, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
@Ferret: Perhaps. But please educate as to why. I read through the entire WP:RS site and I did not find anything that made it inappropriate. If you can share reasons, that'll be great. Secondly how does it get classified as spam. Again nothing in the WP:SPAM documentation suggests this is the case. I only see a trend of mostly Asian sites entering the spam list. Even Techcrunch, which you consider reliable publishes information it sources. It does not produce original information. This information is only released through press releases of the companies that share their data. Thanks! Sushant.iiml (talk) 15:15, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
You guys are clearly exhibiting that you have a vested interest in this site being included in articles, which suggests a conflict of interest. That alone is enough that you should stop adding it. It's your actions that classify it as spam. As for why its not at reliable source, I would point you to WP:RS#Vendor and e-commerce sources to start. This is an e-commerce site that's selling a product. Additionally, WP:RS#Questionable sources. There's no evidence of editorial oversight or a reputation for fact checking. The site doesn't directly reveal where it sources it's data from (Yet you guys know, again suggesting a conflict of interest). The site is unreliable, and the fact that two editors who have spent the bulk of their edits adding it or arguing for it suggest a conflict of interest and deliberate promotional effort. The data is available in already accepted reliable sources or directly from press releases, which also weakens the need to use this site. -- ferret (talk) 15:21, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

If you truly believe this site is a reliable source, you can ask at WP:RSN for them to review it. I can practically guarantee you'll get the same response though, that's it is unreliable and spam. There's no point in cluttering Anarchyte's talk page with this further. -- ferret (talk) 15:26, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

@Ferret: Going by your logic I should also be exhibiting a vested interest in sharing links of Techcrunch. However you are not accusing me of having a vested interest in promoting Techcrunch or any other platform (since you have heard of them and they are western). On the sources of the site, you can also identify where this site is sourcing its content from by checking the following page http://www.pickdup.com/stats.html. But you've instead chosen to falsely accuse me of knowing the sources and suggested conflict of interest. The sources are clearly mentioned publicly. On me editing content, I think I have disclosed earlier that I found some reliable factual data from specific sources I found to be good (and you never heard of because you are not in India and threatened to blacklist list me). I am not sure about the "we" part but I am just standing up for what I believe is unfair and even racial targeting of Indian people and sites as also reflected in the blacklisting of yourstory.com (and not because I have a conflict of interest). On the e-commerce part, I don't see them selling anything even remotely linked with Pokemon. From that point of view Techcrunch, Facebook, and every publishing platform should be having a conflict of interest with advertising on its site. I believe in standing up for what is fair. However I don't see this discussion leading anywhere and I have nothing to gain out of it. I seem to be talking to people who are doing great work on Wikipedia but have made up their mind on something that may not fully comprehend (and thus even limiting Wikipedia's potential). Thanks! Sushant.iiml (talk) 15:53, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
The reason no one is badgering the TechCrunch reference is because it's a verifiable reliable source. It has editorial oversight and has writers whom the Wikipedia community have decided are reliable. I suggest you (re-)read the following Wikipedia links: WP:RS, WP:COI, WP:V, WP:SPS. Anarchyte (work | talk) 04:46, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
@Ferret:, :@Anarchyte:, :@Ferret: Alright folks. Thanks for your time. Let me share a few facts about your process as highlighted in Criticism of Wikipedia, and Racial bias on Wikipedia. I haven't edited or authored those articles just in case you may feel like accusing me of something I have no relation to. However I can't help it. You are prejudiced by your own views, and exposure to content (and so am I).

Let me quote a few lines from those articles that are evident of the inherent bias (and ignorance) in your editorial process (largely driven by your exposure to media). While it happens as it would for any normal individual, your resorting to threats of blacklisting is not just disconcerting but a validation of documented content. "The standard of debate on Wikipedia has been called into question by persons who have noted that contributors can make a long list of salient points and pull in a wide range of empirical observations to back up their arguments, only to have them ignored completely on the site." "Wikipedia has been criticized for having a systemic racial bias in its coverage, due to an under-representation of people of colour within its editor base." And example being - ""a lot of black history is left out" of Wikipedia, due to articles predominately being written by white editors. Articles that do exist on African topics are, according to some critics, largely edited by editors from Europe and North America and thus reflect their knowledge and consumption of media, which "tend to perpetuate a negative image" of Africa." "The principal concerns of the critics are the factual reliability of the content; the readability of the prose; and a clear article layout; the existence of systemic bias; of gender bias; and of racial bias among the editorial community that is Wikipedia." "Wikipedia is sometimes characterized as having a hostile editing environment. In Common Knowledge?: An Ethnography of Wikipedia (2014), Dariusz Jemielniak, a steward for Wikimedia Foundation projects, stated that the complexity of the rules and laws governing editorial content and the behavior of the editors is a burden for new editors and a licence for the "office politics" of disruptive editors." Thanks! Sushant.iiml (talk) 22:06, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

You can run with the racism bit as much as you want. I didn't even realize the site was apparently Indian till you kept bringing it up. The fact that it was Indian had no bearing in its removal. It's been clearly explained to you, whether you agree or not, why the source was unsuitable. You've been directed to the relevant policies and to the board where you could seek a second opinion. Continuing to post on an individual user's talk page about your beliefs regarding enwiki's inherent biases isn't really going to get you anywhere. -- ferret (talk) 00:56, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
@Ferret: : Yes! I agree with you. Talking to you (or others on this thread) isn't going to take me anywhere or even give me any benefit. It's tough to hold a reasonable discussion here. Thanks! Sushant.iiml (talk) 06:17, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Yes, due to the use of pipes (|) in URLs of the new page views tool, if you try to place the link to page views in a {{Requested move}} template it would cause the template to break and all subsequent text to be removed. The easy solution would be to add the link after starting the RM. If for whatever reason you need to start the entire RM with one edit, you need to replace all pipes in the URL with |. I figured this out a few months ago after trial and error. Thanks, SSTflyer 13:18, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

New user article

Hi Anarchyte,

I'm having a bit of a struggle with my first Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Nucleus_Films#Releases and would be really grateful for your advice.

I'm comparing it to articles on similar release companies but am quite anxious as some seem to have more, and some less, information than mine. May I check with you if I'm now on the right track? Similar companies have both more and less information and I am trying to get the balance right.

pageswap script for convenience

Hi Anarchyte! I've noticed that at some point, you performed a round-robin page move. I have several times before I thought the current move form was tedious. Anyway, I've written a script here (js) that semi-automates page swaps for convenience, and thought you may want to try it out. You'd simply click "Swap" and enter a page destination, the script performs the 3 moves as necessary (saves time having to manually go through the move form 3 times). (It doesn't correct redirects afterwards, that's still manual)

Anyway feel free to adapt this script as you see fit, cheers, and happy moving. :) — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 02:21, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

I am requesting a rereview on the page LeafyIsHere because I believe that with almost 5 million subscribers on YouTube, and about 2 million views on each new video, he is relevent enough to be on Wikipedia. Also I edited the article so that there are at least three news websites that I found on the news tab on google. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.148.105.34 (talkcontribs) 23:38, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Fallout 4 Automatron.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Fallout 4 Automatron.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Backlog

The NPP backlog now stands at 13,158 total unreviewed pages.

Just to recap:

 • 13 July 2016: 7,000
 • 1 August 2016: 9,000
 • 7 August 2016: 10,472
 • 16 August 2016: 11,500
 • 28 August 2016: 13,158

You naturally don't have to feel obliged, but if there's anything you can do it would be most appreciated. I've spent 40 hours on it this week but it's only a drop in the ocean.--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:55, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

Deaf Valley

hi, how are u?? why this?? for my POV is not are Deaf Valley, but hearing or not?? --SURDUSVII 10:24, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

@SurdusVII: My apologies, but I did not understand your message, but here is an explanation as to why I did the edit you linked. I removed the CSD tag because it's a valid redirect, not an "error page". If you want to delete that page, try using Redirects for Discussion. Some of the references on the target page (Tiger Stadium (LSU)) refer to the stadium as "Deaf Valley"; presumably as a play on words of "Death Valley". Anarchyte (work | talk) 10:31, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
excuse my english which are native italian speakers, actually wanted to point out how the wrong way DEAF.. infact the term has another meaning, and the exact title is this: DEATH VALLEY, ok?? :) --SURDUSVII 10:38, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
@SurdusVII: I'll reiterate what I said above. The term "DEAF Valley" is used in some of the articles references. I assume it's a play on words with "DEATH Valley". I know they have different meanings. Anarchyte (work | talk) 10:41, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
I get it.. all right.. --SURDUSVII 11:09, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Fallout 4: Nuka-World

On 6 September 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Fallout 4: Nuka-World, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a reference to "DLCNukaWorld.esm" in the source code of Fallout 4 led to rumors of Fallout 4: Nuka-World months before its announcement? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Fallout 4: Nuka-World. Question

Why did you mark this as reviewed without taking any action? It is clearly vandalism and I have tagged it as such. - Yellow Dingo (talk) 11:30, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

@Yellow Dingo: I received an edit conflict when tagging it for CSD. I mark an article as patrolled and then tag it because sometimes Twinkle doesn't mark it as patrolled correctly. Anarchyte (work | talk) 11:32, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

The testing should take about an hour, will be conducted online, and will take place during the next few weeks. To participate, please email dchen[at]wikimedia.org with the subject line Twinkle User. Include the following information:

 • Username
 • Email where we can reach you
 • Your city or time zone

New Page Reviewer granted

Hello Anarchyte. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria.

 • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
 • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
 • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
 • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator.

Administrator note You have been grandfathered to this group based on prior patrolling activity - the technical flag for the group will be added to your account after the next software update. You do not need to apply at WP:PERM. 20:56, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

@Nyuszika7H: My apologies about the misunderstanding. It was a mistype by me, and I'm not even sure how it happened. G2A

Hi Anarchyte,

Could you please give me some more tips and show parts of the content from my edit which in your opinion are lacking sources? Sandbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Moherson/G2A Thanks :)

Moherson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moherson (talkcontribs) 14:53, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

@Moherson: Many, if not all of the references you added are unreliable sources. At a quick glance, many are directly from G2A. As for formatting, an article should not have external links in its prose, either turn them into references or put them into the external links section (if they comply with WP:ELNO). Also, I believe that it was written better overall prior to the massive edits. I hope this helps, Anarchyte (work | talk) 05:23, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for your feedback. Could you please explain what constitutes a “reliable” source? Some examples perhaps? Unfortunately, as G2A is not a listed company, the only place to find certain facts (such as no. of employees) is from their website. Furthermore, the original article is both outdated and lacking in content and I changed this – I believe – without compromising the original style. I will nevertheless update the article with more external sources where possible and amend the formatting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moherson (talkcontribs) 10:52, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

@Moherson: Apologies for the late reply. I suggest you read over WP:RS to learn about the guidelines and what constitutes a reliable source. G2A is heavily videogame based, so take a look at WP:VG/RS for lots of sources that have been vetted by the community to be reliable. Hope this helps! New Page Review needs your help

Hi Anarchyte,

As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).

Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.

Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.

It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

User group: New Page Reviewr

Hello Anarchyte.

Based on the patrols you made of new pages during a qualifying period in 2016, your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed.

New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process.
