Date of death is unsourced

edit

Nobody actually knows. Into the void misinformation. The only reliable source is a brief post by the company who bought the rights to Load Runner, and all they say is they recently learned of his death, which is meaningless in terms of when he died. I can find no obits. All the other sources are not reliable. I'd go with Computerworld, but they get his age at death (probably) wrong, which makes them suspect. -- GreenC 05:04, 9 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, @GreenC! Author of the CW article here. 👋 You're correct, Doug was 53 when he passed. Per an email from Doug's daughter, Nina, his date of death was recorded as 7 Sep 2014 in Lacey, Washington, USA. I'm happy to add that date to the Wikipedia article, though I'm unsure how to cite personal correspondence (or even if it's considered a valid source). I've updated the CW article with the correct dates and age. Kgagne (talk) 20:35, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
That makes it a lot easier. Thank you for this! I updated the article. -- GreenC 20:53, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
