April Jeanette

An editor by the name of Anthony Appleyard deleted a page for AJ Lee. He first renamed it from 'AJ Lee (wrestler)" to 'April Jeanette' (so April Jeanette was the article's final name I think), before deleting it. He then created a new page called April Jeanette and made it a redirect. So right now the entire article is gone. The page was in the process of a requested name change before this delete happened. There was no reason for this article to be deleted and must have been some mistake. -Wrestling0101 (talk) 23:41, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

The page itself was intended to be moved back to AJ Lee for precision purposes after an undiscussed move two some-odd weeks ago. Serious bit of mistepping afoot. Papacha (talk) 03:54, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

By my count this person has worked on around 40 CDS, DVDs, radio shows and other things. His co-worker Tom Gulotta has a page for working on many of the same things. There are many other articles for record producers and engineers all over wikipedia. Some well known, some not. Seems lik a random deletion.   Done. The article was deleted after a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eric Townsend, but due to low participation the closing administrator made it a WP:SOFTDELETE so, as with a WP:PROD, it has been restored on request. It may still be re-nominated: the main claim to fame presented in the present article is a list of people he has worked with, but Wikipedia:Notability is not inherited, what is needed is references about him that show "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." In regard to other articles, see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. JohnCD (talk) 21:58, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

I do not understand the reasoning for the the deletion of this page. When reading through your guidelines of why this page was getting deleted in the first place, the reasoning stated that it was a page for an individual person... there are plenty of other pages on the wikipedia database that are dedicated to a single person, how is this one violating the policies of wikipedia? -Markusmcdonald (talk) 19:21, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

1) It was written by you. 2) It was nominated for deletion as shamelessly and unsalvageably promotional (and with good reason). 3) YOU blanked the page. 4) Since you (the sole author of the article) blanked the page, the blank page was deleted. --Orange Mike | Talk 12:27, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

None of your pages have been deleted. Instead the page was moved to User:Drmarcobitetto. This is your own user page, and is a more suitable place to write about yourself. Autobiographies are discouraged as Wikipedia articles. Articles on Wikipedia should be based on published writings, rather on what the writer knows. What you know about this special topic is called original research|. If there are multiple published sources it shows notability. But for your page about yourself there are no published sources.
To get pages to appear here you can read WP:your first article. Pick a topic that you can find published reliable writings on, and then describe the information that you find there.   Not done as page exists. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:17, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Linda Christas

I am a student of Linda Christas Academy, and have been told that someone has deleted our school from Wikipedia on several occasions.

To say that you have not been able to verify LC exists seems ridiculous to me.

Look at the Advisory Board.

What the Wiki editors have said is that they cannot find INDEPENDENT verification. Look at the videos at www.lindachristas.org

There are five thousand students taking courses through Linda Christas in at least four countries, Kenya People's Republic of China, Poland and the United States.

Let's be fair.

Why the only school in the US following the method shown in the motion picture The Blind Side is reduced to being subject to obvious administrative bias is beyond me.

Sincerely,

Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Madhu Pandit Dasa, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Phantomsteve (talk · contribs).   Not done - a deleted page with this name does not appear to exist.. I do see that a page by that name was deleted from the German wikipedia (de:Vetomitin) for the reason you say, but you would have to discuss undeletion of it on their site not here on the English wikipedia site. I would expect the request would be denied, because advertising is advertising regardless of what readers might be able to learn from it. On the other hand, editors are usually welcome to create a new article on a topic that meets normal requirements. Using Google, I was able to find some information about this topic, so maybe you'd be able to look up some yourself and write a small article to help others? It is apparently a synonym for (or a specific pharmaceutical preparation of) something called "SkQ1", which is mentioned in our Plastoquinone article. DMacks (talk) 02:34, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Not done. This was re-created so many times without showing notability that the title has been salted - protected against creation. That was four years ago, so it is possible that he has become notable since. Check out WP:Notability, WP:Notability (people) and WP:42; then, if you think you can show notability, make a draft article in your user space (see Help:Userspace draft for how to do that) and present it at WP:Deletion review. I can userfy the deleted versions for you if you like, but they are not much good and in my opinion you would do better to start from scratch. JohnCD (talk) 12:18, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Well, this is first time on this wp-request, maybe this could help:
Egon Eagle (talk) 16:18, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
This isn't the place to develop an article - make a draft in your userspace, as I explained above, with the best references you can find, particularly ones that are about him, not by him or press releases, and explain why he is notable himself, not just a ripoff of somebody notable. When it's done, send it to WP:Articles for creation by clicking the "Submit" button at the top of the draft page. If they accept it, they will ask for the title to be unprotected. John D. Caputo Bibliography

Recently “John D. Caputo Bibliography” was deleted on the grounds of the overlap with a separate entry “John D. Caputo,” in which part of the same bibliography is contained. Unfortunately, a carefully constructed and accurate bibliography, containing over 150 articles and book chapters published since 1970 was deleted and no longer appears in Wikipedia. This section of the “Bibliography” was only available in the "Bibliography” and not in the separate entry. This is an unfortunate loss. I can certainly understand wanting to merge the two entries. I would have preferred it myself. In the grounds for the deletion, mention was made of possible copyright violations. That I cannot understand. This was a simple bibliography. The compiler simply put publicly available information in one place for the convenience of the readers of Wikipedia. Accordingly, I appeal to the editors to copy the “articles and book chapters” section of the deleted “John D. Caputo Bibliography” and include this section in the main article “John D. Caputo.” I agree that there is no need for a separate "Bibliography" entry. -Jdcaputo (talk) 23:35, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

  • I don't know much about the finer points of copyrights as they apply to lists, but Moonriddengirl has just weighed in, and it sounds like it's Ok to restore if this is a comprehensive bibliography, and not Ok if it's a selective one or is creatively formatted. I am an employee of the company covered by this page, but that is not my primary motivation for having this article restored and preserved. A first pass at notability may be the 99,000+ Google Search results on the company name (minus its own website, and a commonly-confused competitor).[1] A second is the EU's LOD2 Project web site.[2] Wikipedia interlinks from apparently-accepted-as-notable pages also lend credence to this subject's notability.[3] I note that the entity which PRODed the page is itself essentially anonymous (IP address 93.130.22.183)[4],[5],[6]... Itlit Software is a multi-million dollar company that's been operating for over a decade. They're well know for their technical work in the realm of game engine technology and have been licensing their technology at extremely competitive rates; all pages linked to the company and the main individuals behind it have been flagged for deletion by one non-logged in individual with all pages subsequently being taken down - it's unclear to me how one rogue individual can effect this sort of action? Please restore all pages related to Itlit Software. Thank you so much. -RomeroDoom (talk) 20:44, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

I pinged the deleting admin, User:Panyd Lectonar (talk) 07:16, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
Ok, few things. Firstly, an IP address doesn't qualify as a 'rogue individual' - let's assume good faith - because when I looked at the article, I had a few problems with it myself (hence, deletion). I will break it down:
Itlit was founded in 2002 as a mobile and casual game developer, mainly producing a number of side-scrolling and puzzle-based games. All their mobile titles were developed for Java ME and BREW mobile phones while the company served as technical contractor for various other casual game developers. - Well, there are many, many companies who serve the same function - what makes this particular company significant in this regard? Also, who are these other casual game developers? Are they significant themselves? Were you the sole contractor? How significant was your role in fulfilling this function (which again, is pretty much the definition of the standard work of a company like this)?
At the start of 2003 Itlit made a shift from mobile and casual games to PC and console systems. Its first title for the PC, Relent: The Fallen, was a first-person shooter/role-playing video game originally scheduled for release in 2009/2010 but eventually canceled. Neither the company nor its publisher released any information about this title, except for it being based on Itlit's in-house 3D engine. - So the company (based on the information provided) attempted to expand into PC gaming (again, not unusual). Then, the efforts did not produce fruit, therefore cancelling the release of a sole game, which we know nothing about, which had no details released about it, meaning we have no indication whatsoever that this was significant in any way.
Now we get to the crux of the matter: Itlit is best known internationally for developing the RelentENGINE - Being internationally known could well be a credible claim to significance, but, looking at the article regarding the engine, there's nothing to substantiate this whatsoever. Both articles simply discuss the technicalities of the engine briefly before launching into a list of functions which every 3D engine provides in some way or another - thus rendering the claim non-credible and (with the information provided), not significant.
I'm perfectly happen to userfy this or indeed, to bow to the wishes of Lectonar because, hey, I've been wrong and I will be wrong again - I just see nothing in this article to imply that the company is significant. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 11:16, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Okay, fair enough; I notice the company's website has also gone down so going back a bit - as the original article creator, I'm fine with the deletion. Case closed! :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by RomeroDoom (talkcontribs) 17:44, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
