Undelete Mike Bloom (Musician) page

I believe Mike's Bloom's page may have been taken down in error. I am doing research on Mike Bloom for his upcoming solo album release, as well as the release of the third Elected album. I see his page has been 'redirected' to The Elected page. I have used his Wikipedia page in the past and know it to be factual, so I am surprised it seems to be deleted. Please 'undelete' his page so I can use Wikipedia as a source for the article.

Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bljoe (talkcontribs) 20:29, 11 May 2011

Not done - see WP:REFUND#Mike Bloom (Musician) Undeletion Request further up this page. However, you can see the content that was on the page, for your article, like this: click on Mike Bloom (musician) and you will be taken to "The Elected." At the top of that page, just under the title, it will say "(Redirected from Mike Bloom (musician))". Click on that link and you will get to the redirect page. Now click on "View history" at the top, and on the resulting history page click on "23:19, 7 April 2011" at the left of the second line in the list of revisions. That will show you the page as it was before being redirected. JohnCD (talk) 20:53, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
On second thoughts, there is a much simpler way: here is a direct link to the page as it was before being redirected. JohnCD (talk) 21:08, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
replied on my talk page. Note that this was actually intended to be a non-prejudicial supervote so any editor, including Bljoe, is free to revert the redirect. However, I would strongly advise against doing that without sources as it's a BLP. --Ron Ritzman (talk) 01:11, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Steve Comisar

I am trying to make a page on behalf of Mr Comisar. He has been a legitimate albeit small time actor and has had some significance in the media. I am beginning to think that the "speedy deletion" of every single article I write is vindictive in nature. The speedy deletion of the biographical article on Mr Comisar, without comment or editing appears to also be vindictive in nature. -SpartacusXXX (talk) 20:40, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Zeta Phi Beta 1957

Would like to work from both this page and the Spanish Language page for the organization es:Zeta Phi Beta to create a referenced page. Note, if this can be done and placed in the Mainspace, it would be as Zeta Phi Beta (Fraternity) (should the Fraternity as a disambiguation in the title be capitalized?), as Zeta Phi Beta is an unrelated Sorority. Fernando Herrera (Fireman)

Little or no debate after only a couple of hours! The article in question is of a high ranking member of the Houston Fire Department and mayoral candidate for the 2011 Houston mayoral election. Surely SOME debate needs to be done instead of just arbitrarily deleted without debate. -Hourick (talk) 19:47, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

There is no assertion of notability there. Neither high-ranking members of the HFD, nor candidates for mayor, are notable as such. (See WP:POLITICIAN.) --Orange Mike | Talk 19:58, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
I understand, so basically, I have to find more "local" coverage to be able to create an article about him? As the election gets closer, I don't think that's going to be much of an issue, since it promises to be a heated campaign. --Hourick (talk) 15:07, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
No, such coverage is likely to be about the election, not about Herrera as a person. The rule of thumb here is that we don't cover candidates just because they are candidates, unless they would be notable if they had never run for office. Wikipedia is not a newspaper and does not normally cover people brought to public attention due to a single event (such as a candidacy); we do not provide candidate profiles for people who may never be heard from again if they lose their elections. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:10, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
With all due respect, while I agree with you as a whole, there has been a significant number of articles that contain candidates that done nothing BUT run for office. Jimmy McMillan is an example of a WP:ONEEVENT, Jonny Porkpie is another. Both ran for Mayor of NYC, BTW. Just so you don't think I'm just picking on NYC: Walter Moore (politician), James Harris (politician), and Chicken John. The ONE candidate that I have started the article on was only started because of his current position. That's not to say that anyone else that comes and throws their hat in will have an article, but at least this one person has just enough notability than the other candidates in the various cities that I have seen. Believe me, I looked before I started Herrera's article, and if you see my contributions in the past, I have no ulterior motive to making this particular article. --Hourick (talk) 16:44, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Carfax Abbey

kay, I am not fully versed in Wiki anymore (it's been forever.) But, the name I believe was Carfax Abbey, the url was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carfax_Abbey http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Carfax_Abbey&action=edit&redlink=1

This band has had two full releases. Second Skin (2004) (was sold at cdbaby, tower records, virgin records to name a few) and It Screams Disease (2007) (was sold in itunes, cd baby tower records, virgin records.) Had been on the label Dancing Ferrets. (believe they still are.) And, as well three demo/EP/smaller releases.

Has released two or more albums on a major label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of whom are notable).

Dancing Ferrets is the label of The Cruxshadows (which has had a #1 dance hit chart within the last few years. As well many other notable (at least to the darkwave and goth genre crowd) Voltaire I'm fairly certain shares this label. While not many are "charting" that shouldn't fully discount them. Well, feel free to delete this, whether you reinstate the page or not. If the page wont be re-instated, I would like to get some information from the stored copy. Is there anyway I can do that? (sheesh, didn't realize just cause something got "old" it would be deleted if they hadn't released something within a few years. Now I'm glad I never really put a ton of time into wiki work.) - bleh, it keeps saying i didn't submit this right... and, I honestly don't have the time to relearn "formatting" just to see if you'll not delete a page that, with some small bit of research, in my opinion never should've been proposed for deletion in the first place. -- 67.124.202.148 (talk) 09:35, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I will notify user Richhoncho (talk), who proposed it, in case he wishes to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion: that would start a seven-day discussion. What the article needs is references to confirm what you have said, and that the band meets the notability standard of WP:BAND: if you are not confident about adding them yourself, explain on the article's talk page Talk:Carfax Abbey. SB_Alliance English page was deleted

Hello,

I am the new person in charge of the SB Alliance (www.sballiance.org) and I would appreciate to be able to create an English page, knowing the page exists in French and Spanish already and we are an international non-profit organisation. Currently updating our website.

Here is what I found about the previous page you deleted: "The result was Delete, after discounting comments that are unsigned or from unregistered or very new users, as is customary. Stifle (talk) 18:41, 1 September 2008 (UTC)" Here is the link to the discussion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/SB_Alliance

I hope it's possible to do it again!

Thank you for your time, A.

  •   Not done Well, conflict of interest is brutal in this case, and English Wikipedia's rules for notability are different than on other projects. Dear Wikipedia. Please do not delete the page Riviera Multimedia Ltd. Although we are a company, the page contains on factual information about the company history and purpose. There are no adverts on the page and the company is a relevant contributor to the current media and music industry and the new technology available. I would add that there are other such organisations on Wiki that have not been deleted dispite similar content. I refer you to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Performance_LTD. Please if you could un-delete the page I would be most grateful. Thank you, --Deztone (talk) 14:50, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

SWGEmu

I have reviewed the claims against this page's notability as being lacking of third-party sources establishing it as such, and I feel there is a strong case against this. I would cite that even a simple Google search with keyword 'SWGEmu' will land you with more than 70,000 results. SWGEmu is a community which offers an online game server hosting regularly 1,000 concurrent users, peaking at 1,600. Examining the search results from Google, you will also find that SWGEmu is debated on LucasForums, an affiliate fan site of LucasArts, which is a third-party source. On these forums, you may read that SWGEmu was contacted directly by LucasArts to negotiate terms that would place SWGEmu under LucasArts legally. These talks broke down, resulting in SWGEmu declining to be absorbed by LucasArts, so that they may pursue the project independently. Likewise, a Google search also lands one on the Nvidia discussion forums, where SWGEmu is heavily discussed and encouraged by forum administrators. I find it somewhat ridiculous that the article was deleted citing lack of notability, when in fact, so much third-party coverage of the project is easily discovered on the Internet. There is also a minor claim that the software is not available. I refute this claim by providing that SWGEmu is an open-source project which allows absolutely anyone the chance to download, compile, and run the source code for their own SWGEmu powered server. Furthermore, the original article cited sources of independent magazines and sites reporting on the SWGEmu project. This also negates the lack of third-party notability argument. It is somewhat disturbing that a unanimous decision in this regard could be reached on something a simple search reveals to be untrue. SWGEmu IS a notable project, and I appeal that it is re-evaluated with a little more effort involved. -67.61.224.160 (talk) 21:52, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Chaos

This page was deleted after this discussion, but there should have been a proper deletion discussion. The page history seems to be broken now. Also the old content should have been moved to other articles, not just removed. -202.124.73.8 (talk) 10:33, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

  • The history was moved already to Chaos/Psuedo dab page. It had a life before 2 jan 2006 when the current Chaos was created, but there are so many revisions overlapping in time that a history merge make no sense. It could be restored at a sensible name and redirected so that old revisions can be seen. Since it was deleted as a G6 if contested it can come back, it just needs a sensible place to return how about Chaos/old version? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:46, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
    • The page (in the form here: http://chaos.co.tv/) existed from 2006 until 10 May 2011, when it was deleted by moving Chaos_(disambiguation) over the top of it. Shouldn't there have been an AfD to decide the deletion? Or a suggested merge of the old content to other articles? I would suggest restoring the old deleted Chaos article, and then bringing it to AfD. Deleting page histories without an AfD is against WP policy, isn't it? And if by G6 you mean Wikipedia:CSD#G6, surely that doesn't apply to the deletion of a long-standing popular article?
      • I tt was not actually deleted by that onlya redirect was overlayed in the move, However I have restored the old version to Chaos/old version.   Done Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:06, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Mohammad Shaikh

Hello! I see the deletion log on the Mohammad Shaikh page and it is very sad. Why is Wikipedia's editors being so harsh on the writers of this page? I have read and reread the instructions as not to make the same mistakes the other creators made. There were many others who worked on the Mohammad Shaikh page before I created a Mohammad Shaikh page today. It was deleted fast due to saying it was the same page. This is not true because I did not work on the other pages, nor have I seen the other pages, nor do I know the people who wrote the other pages. I respectfully request that the page goes back up. I do have a few minor edits I would like to make concerning some facts. If anyone else would like to contribute with some extra facts they are more than welcome. However, my finding of how there was speedy deletion is contrary to Wikipedia's policy of assuming good faith. When I ask a question, I am given citations of links I have already read. This makes no sense to me. Do you want to help build a page or delete them? I am frustrated. This is my first page, and I want it to stay up. There are pages that have one sentence and they are up. This Mohammad Shaikh page has a long record of frivolous charges against the creators for whatever reason to keep the page deleted. I want to stop this nonsense now. This page is grammatically and mechanically correct. I do need to edit a couple of pieces of factual information on the page after checking my facts later today. Wikipedia is for everyone to enjoy and anyone notable can be in Wikipedia. Mohammad Shaikh is notable. Please respond in kind. I don't know how to write to the specific editor on their page. I have looked for links and cannot find the link. Thank you kindly — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mindingthequill (talkcontribs)

This page page was intended to show how the society can improve the skills of Law students academically and socially. The work that was published on here was not copyrighted. The website in question http://www.lawsociety.kk5.org was designed by myself and all of the material on that website was created by me. Furthermore the administrators like to delete articles without showing any consideration and specifying a vaid (non computer generated) reason as to why it had been deleted and do not show how i can go about improving it. The second time i created the article from scratch, i avoided using words like 'we' and 'us' which gave a sense of promoting and publisising which i understand is not allowed.   Not done. As it says at the top of this page, it is not for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions. It is not that you created the same article, but you created an article about the same person, and there have now been no less than four deletion debates on articles about him:
All of those concluded that he did not meet Wikipedia's notability requirement, which requires showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. As you were told further up this page, if you want to take this further, you will have to go to WP:Deletion review. You will not succeed there unless you can show more independent references. If you can do that, ask user Ron Ritzman (talk), who closed the last deletion debate and offered to userfy if better references were available, whether he is willing to restore your article into a user sub-page for you to improve before taking it to deletion review. I am not sure of the reason behind the deletion of the page but it appears from the brief description that there may be a concern regarding clarification regarding a match between the identity of the convention organiser and freelance writer referred to in the article. As the said person mentioned in the article, I can provide evidence to support this, and links to bodies of work online (and interviews with myself or features referring to both aspects of my work) that will substantiate information in the article that had been deleted.

My page was an original information work meant to inform the world of a composer. I was told that the page was ok on May 14 and on May 15 my page was deleted. I would like for my page to be reinstated so I can see what else was 'wrong' about my page, and a reason for a valid reason for its deletion.

After speaking with someone in the help section I was told that it was because it was advertising, Mr. Williams but in what way? Please this process is becoming very insulting and from where I am sitting counterproductive to why people should submit articles to this site.

Thank you -Stltigga (talk) 01:18, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

A string of requests from Dolovis (talk) with the complaint, in each case, that "This referenced article was improperly deleted after a BLPPROD was removed by a 3rd party."

Not done. I have replaced these with this single entry to save space, because this page is not the place for contested speedy deletions like these. As you have already approached Resolute (talk), the deleting admin, without success, you should take these to WP:Deletion review. I suggest a single combined entry there. Shusaku number

Originally deleted because notability was only established through an allegedly dubious source. I would have objected to the prod if I'd found out about it earlier! Certainly the page needs improvement. However, the assertion made in the prod (see User_talk:Aditsu) is incorrect: there does exist a Wikipedia article for the source Sensei's Library. The page may well end up being deleted, but I think it's worth discussion, and I hope the mention at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Go will gather some constructive attention. -Jowa fan (talk) 08:29, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

reasoning -86.152.184.51 (talk) 14:23, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Not done - As announced at the top of the page, this process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially and has no applicability to articles deleted after any deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/World Ju-Jitsu Federation, it cannot be undeleted through this process. Nevertheless, if you believe that the consensus found at the discussion was in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Joe Decker (talk · contribs). National Inflation Association

The topic "National Inflation Association" has been totally blanked out and the Discussion and View History are not on the page. I would like to view this old material, as well as possibly edit it. Thanks -Alexethan31 (talk) 18:16, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

  •   Not done - there was no talk page, no discussion. The "article" consisted of the group's name, that it is "an organization devoted to preparing Americans against hyperinflation", a weblink to a press release about Ron Paul, and a statement that it issues press releases and "produces propaganda videos." If the organization is actually notable, you will need to create a new, more substantial article, with some evidence of actual notability. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:31, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

PaceButler Corporation

I believe PaceButler Corporation Wikipedia page should be undeleted because it is a legitimate company that has been in business for almost 25 years with a good track record. They are a notable business and should be recognized through avenues such as wikipedia. Any questionable links, submissions, etc. will be immediately changed and/or deleted. There is no intent to promote or advertise PaceButler Corporation through Wikipedia. I would like to state what the company does, length of service with references to support the company on your site. Any submission that was considered advertising or promotion was not intended in that matter and again, will be deleted or changed. Thank you for your consideration. -ChameleonMarket (talk) 15:08, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles concerning companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject.
Looks like you've had a couple of tries at it, and the article still reads like an advertisement. I'd suggestion you read WP:FIRST, then try a version at WP:Article Incubator. When you think you've got it right, ask for constructive feedback there before making a request at WP:RFPP to have the new version moved over. HTH--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:49, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

The Strategy of the Dolphin

Strategy of the Dolphin: Scoring a Win in a Chaotic World (Morrow, hardcover; Fawcett Columbine, paper) is not an obscure work. The book was a Literary Guild alternate selection, has been published in three German and two United Kingdom editions and in French, Portuguese, Spanish, Greek, Hungarian and Turkish. The German edition of Strategy of the Dolphin (Paidia Verlag) ranked No. 5 on the German business book bestseller list and No. 1 on the self-growth book bestseller list and has just been issued in its third printing. In France, Strategy rose to No. 3 on business-book bestseller lists and recently had its second printing. The book has hundreds of favorable citations on google.com. One of the most recent is this one on NewsnetScotland: http://www.newsnetscotland.com/economy/2424-what-do-we-do-about-the-sharks.html} For other highly positive references to the work, see these Wikipedia entries: Strategic management, Whole brain literacy, Marketing warfare strategies and Clare W.   Not done. The page in your userspace was a copyright violation, being material copied from the company's website at www.giad.com. Wikipedia cannot host copyright information, even in userspace, unless a formal copyright release has been made. In any case material taken from a website is likely to be unsuitable for an encyclopedia article, being too promotional and/or too detailed, and lacking the independent references need to show notability. You would do best to write an article in your own words, with references to show significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. JohnCD (talk) 10:47, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Not done. As explained on your talk page, the article was deleted because it was a copyright violation, copied from http://leonardkaye.webs.com/. Wikipedia cannot host copyright material - see Wikipedia:Copy-paste - unless a formal copyright release has been made. I have deleted from above here the same material which you copied again. Material copied from a website is in any case likely to be too promotional for an encyclopedia article, which requires a neutral point of view and references to show significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. The reason given that the format was messy and had nationalistic characteristics. I do beleive this was not well formated but it is not reason to be set for deletion again and again. I believe that the given in time any article can be well put to the regular standards by other contributing users. I do not however believe that anywhere in the article there were any nationalistic issues that were brought up in the discussion page. I also believe that page in detail stands on its own from the page Potential Superpowers. I would also like to make an argument that the users proposing and in favor of the page getting deleted were all european and micht have some antisemitism towards Indians. I would like the admin to consider to undelete the page.
