This fraternity focuses on developing a diverse group of men committed to its principals, commitment to character, leadership, academics, and the community. With 9 Chapters throughout Puerto Rico and one in the Dominican Republic their main purpose is to recruit further leaders that will make a difference, and pave the way for future brothers. Known to always maintain their heads and name up high and racism and discrimination low by teaching their new recruits and orienting people. During the initiation week they teach their candidates to think, analyze, and understand different things under a mayor amount of pressure in the smallest time possible. Well known as a Social and Charitable Fraternity, always willing to service the comunity.

History

edit

In past years to be part of a fraternity the candidate had to be white, part of the high society, part of a certain political party and catholic. In 1956 seven students decided to form a fraternity based on the believe that all who wanted to grow spiritually, morally and professionally can be part of this honorable family without being judged by the color of their skin, race, social status, political preferences or religious believes.

Finally on November 21, 1957 in the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus in the Mechanics and Agriculture dpartment; was founded the Zeta Phi Beta Fraternity.
