With the list for 1969 having just been promoted and the list for 1970 having a few supports, here is the list for 1971. Lots more Carpenters and a first chart-topper for a singer who was born in England and raised in Australia but would be one of the U.S.'s favourite singers of the 1970s..... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 07:27, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • "The chart, which in 1971 was entitled Easy Listening, has undergone various name changes and since 1996 has been published under the title Adult Contemporary." - I generally recommend commas before and after the "since 1996" but you may want to do the other workaround you use to fix the issue instead.
  • "topped Billboard's pop singles chart" - Were non-singles still eligible to chart back then like they are now? If so, "songs" might be a better term than "singles" given the context
  • There are two instances of "followed into the top spot" so one could be something like "succeeded at the summit" or some other combination of words
  • "[7][8][9][10]" - Four refs in a row is usually considered WP:OVERKILL, it might help to move one earlier in the sentence or eliminate it
Great stuff and pictures, as always expected and delivered by you.--NØ 13:30, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ChrisTheDude, did the edit not save? Because I am not seeing the changes in the current revision...--NØ 16:13, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MaranoFan: Like a dumb-ass I had it open in another tab but hadn't hit "save changes" LOL. Please check now -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 16:15, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I figured as much, lol. Support and I can also pass the source review as I am familiar with the sourcing on these types of lists now. Tapestry should be italicized on ref 4, though. Cheers.--NØ 16:20, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I read the list a couple of times and I didn't find anything to point out. If anything, I'd try to find another verb to avoid using "replace" twice in replacing "It's Impossible" by Perry Como. The song held the top spot for a single week before being replaced. In any case, I'm happy to support. Great work as always, ChrisTheDude. @Alavense: - thanks for your review, I made a slight change to avoid that repetition, which I hadn't noticed..... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 09:48, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
