Hello Suncreator, In August I added more information and conclusive references to the article. Now some time has passed. but the tags remained. I guess the holidays cause delays. In the meantime I got confirmation about the most important pupils of Kraczyna that became independent printmakers. I also contacted Patricia Cordoba, one of them recently, who confirmed that what I added is right. This guy did not just teach at the American highschool in Fiesole, but his career is impressive. Malapropism

"Quarantaine Tenements" as you "corrected" in article on Sark, is NOT "quarantine tenements".

"Quarantaine" is (as was explained in the article itself, if you'd read it) is French for "group of forty" (like "Douzaine" is French for "group of twelve") from which we get the word "dozen".

"Quarantine" is a different word (although comes from the same linguistic root), whose ultimate meaning is "a period (originally forty days) of isolation" so as not to pass on an infectious disease.

Please beware that when you see a word which you do not know, it is not always because the person writing it has got it wrong. It is not a good idea to change it to whatever comes into your head that you do recognise, until you have done a modicum of research to ensure that the replacement is accurate. --Matt Westwood 17:14, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

BLP unsourced tags

The best thing to do with unreferenced BLPs created after March 18, 2010 is to stick a BLPPROD template on them. That way, they'll get noticed faster if they're worth saving, and if they're not they can be deleted after 10 days. Right now they're making the very last push to get the number of unreferenced BLPs and the number of BLPPRODded articles to match up (that will mean they've eliminated all the ones created before March 18, 2010), and that will expedite the process. There are a few dedicated users who check BLPPRODded articles worth saving, so you don't have to worry about good content being deleted. Hello, my name is Marissa. As you know, User:NYMFan69-86 has suggested that I get in touch with you when tackling the Wikipedia project. Our teacher, Mr. Butler, has told us that several Wikipedia members have caught on to the project and will often help other students. I am a bit intimidated at this point, with all the formatting and what not. But any help I can acquire now or down the road I will be more than happy to accept. Hello Marissa927! Don't be concerned about the formatting at this point. Others (like me) will come along and correct formatting or point you in the right direction on how to do it yourself. The main aspect for you is creating content based on information in quality sources, which means finding and having quality sources available. Quality sources include physical books, online books, scholarly literature and other literture such as newspapers that are is in some way reviewed for accuracy. Allow a lot of time, and get started as quickly. I'm not sure what your project aim is but if it's to create a top quality article on Wikipedia(called a featured article) in practice it will take 100+ hours of time and then only works out if the suitable quality sources exist to cover every aspect of the subject. Dunno if it helps but if anyone is interested in or doing any turtle articles then I recommend they check Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Turtles/Archive_1#Shortlisting(a long list keep scrolling to end of page!) where about 15-20 topics which are ticked as having good prospects of becoming a good article. As a general rule a typical good article has 50+ separate quality sources while a featured one typically has 100+ quality sources and cover every aspect of the topic. Pseudemydura umbrina

Heya, P. umbrina is technically monotypic, in that the extinct form is not described and named. However, there is a fossil form of the genus from Riversleigh which is in north Queensland, showing that the genus was once wide ranging and is probably now a relic population. Cheers. Tidied some of that up. Basic thing you missed is that when reusing a named reference there is an ending slash i.e <ref name="MyRefName"/>. Another point to bear in mind is that WP:Page numbers are required for sources in books, journals, pdf etc and while they are not required yet, if you ever want to go to FA that are essential so maybe best to add them now even though it's quite a lot of effort both to keep track and work to add reference variations with page numbers. Hi, I am from the AP Bio Wiki Project. I was wondering if you could help me with something? I noticed you made an edit to the page I am working on (thank you, by the way!) and was hoping you wouldn't mind helping me with something else. I have the first sentence under "Classification/Names" linked to the second reference under "References". However, the first reference listed is the same as the one underneath and is not linked to anything. I would like to delete it, but I am not sure how. Do you know how to do this/is this necessary? I appreciate your help--that definitely cleaned it up. I didn't realize it was the second one that wasn't linked. I realize one of my problems now was that I deleted what my teacher had put in there. I was supposed to keep {{Reflist|colwidth=33em}} under "References" and I mistakenly deleted it thinking that it was...well I don't really know what I thought it was I just didn't think it was supposed to be there. The navigation box will indeed be a major time saver. As you guessed, I was bouncing from article to article with multiple tabs, utterly inefficient. I will be certain to share with the students so they can post on their User Page. Again thank you for this as well as your tireless efforts and patience in addressing my students endless list of concerns and pleas for help. I am cautiously optimistic that this year will produce some positive contributions and perhaps a few more dedicated and talented editors for the Wikipedia cause. Diamondback Terrapin

I knew it was too good to be true. A topic with mountains of references; yet, still a brief summary. The merger produces a rather large document with little opportunity to develop a portfolio. The students were devastated when they awoke this morning to the merged version. It doesn't help that I strongly recommended it! I did not know enough about terrapins that would lead me to believe that there is only one species. Much less that a full article had been fully developed as a general group rather than at the species level. I have used google scholar, but I seem to be running into many articles about other animals that briefly mention the ray. Thank you for the advice, but I am no longer able to do the terrapin either after the merge. When we realized all the info already done we knew we couldn't build great portfolios from the article. We are sticking with the shark for our main article, and maybe adding one more animal. I appreciate your help on the eagle ray. Marissa927 (talk) 02:09, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Okay, it somewhat depends on the amount of time and research one can do. I've turned out some more references for the spotted eagle ray and put them on the talk:spotted eagle ray page and I may continue developing the article, or I may not depending on my level of interest! Thanks for being so understanding about the spelling, I like to retain spelling rather then let it drift because the majority or editors are North America based. At some point consistancy will be required for 'Angonoka'; it is a mystery and could be a proper noun. Investigation has so far drawn a blank. Thanks for the info; yes, I know we should retain the spelling (I also looked at the very oldest versions). For the name, I think I'll post to the talk page to see if those working on the article can find out. WP:CAPS is pretty clear, "For page titles, always use lowercase after the first word, and do not capitalize second and subsequent words, unless the title is a proper noun".
