I'm not particularly attached to any of them, and I get SO many emails, so I'm trying to save you a few seconds. Hi. Has there been a discussion resulting in the replacement of Category:Vice presidents of the United States with Category:Vice Presidents of the United States? I am a bit puzzled by the miscapitalization. Please ping me. Surtsicna (talk) 22:05, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

@Surtsicna: That might be a question better suited for User:Paulmcdonald, as they are the one who moved the category from lower-case to upper-case Presidents (I only moved the pages from Category:Wikipedia non-empty soft redirected categories). As that user is an admin and gave a good reason in their edit summary for the move on Category:Vice presidents of the United States, and the move to upper-case P is consistent with Wikipedia nomenclature (for example, Vice President of the United States), I thought it wouldn't be a problem to move the pages. If that was the wrong move though I'd be more than willing to revert my edits! spiderjerky (talk) 22:50, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

That was prompt. Thanks! We do have List of vice presidents of the United States as well as MOS:JOBTITLES saying that this sort of capitalization is wrong, so I would support a decision to revert the moves. Surtsicna (talk) 23:17, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

@Surtsicna: So I looked into it a little further and it seems the overwhelming standard for titles in categories seems to be capitalizing all letters (for instance, the categories contained in Category:Vice presidents by country or Category:Prime Ministers by country). To match the standards of MOS:JOBTITLES it looks like mass changes in category names would be needed, which is above my pay grade (I'm just a gnome), so you may want to take it up with the original user, User:Paulmcdonald. spiderjerky (talk) 23:26, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
