Mini Marathon transformed

I noticed you were the last to edit this before I expanded it... ;) --candlewicke 14:13, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Why yes, of course. :) --candlewicke 16:40, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the ITN - my fourth today!!! :) Oh, if I keep up this pace (and BorgQueen checks and posts regularly) I think it ought to be possible to keep ITN afloat or at least not to go too stale on updates - although additional comments, supports and opposes are always needed of course. ;) I was very disappointed at your exit; I thought it would have been fun to be competing for ITNs in the same pool if it had happened! ;) But now to give Useight a right old scare by jumping into a one point lead from behind... :) --candlewicke 01:40, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Review of closure process

Hi Spencer, thanks for the messages, and definitely thanks for collapsing that huge mess! Yes, I agree with collapsing other sections and options, too. Bot help can certainly be hidden, and so can options in certain sections . . . Voting period comes to mind as particularly over-populated with unnecessary options. Anything that helps us zoom in on discussion and keep this alive is a go-er, in my opinion! I was also considering looking through the discussion and beginning to consolidate/move/tally up the sections that are more advanced. Almost everything in "multiple images in a single nom", for example, is decided . . . perhaps we need a completely separate header underneath the current survey for results, and move the multiple images section there, collapse it in a box, and then summarise the results with bullet points. I hope to spend some time there this weekend, but the next couple of days are going to be busy for me, and I have a DYK possibility on which time is ticking! So please feel free to make a start if you wish, and/or I will muck in at the weekend, too. Thanks! Maedin\talk 07:09, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Re:Some GAs

Hi Spencer, that sounds like a good idea and will give some extra encouragement for anyone trying to recruit new people to the ITN process by allowing everybody to see what can be achieved from humble beginnings. I can't think of a good enough reason to oppose turning Operation Seabight into a GA so that would be a yes. What do you think is missing/required? --candlewicke 23:40, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

ITN notifications on user talkpages

Hi Spenc, Are you still doing the ITN notifications? --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 23:00, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Some ITN candidates

Hi, Spencer. BorgQueen is not interested, Tone is not responding and nobody has commented so I would like your opinion on these for ITN. Henry Allingham has broken a world record that has been in place since 2007 and I'm not sure Europe holds this record very often either. Also the world is getting hungrier and the world is reporting this hunger. What do you think of both of them? --candlewicke 07:59, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm stalking this talkpage for now, so I'll give my uninvited opinion. Although I hate to say this, the first story is more interesting. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 08:21, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but you see I imagine the second story is no problem although nobody seems to care about it. The first I thought would be opposed on it being a statistic and one which is broken regularly although nobody expressed much interest in that either. However, it was last broken in 2007 which is long enough by ITN standards and I'm sure it's extremely unusual for the world's oldest man to be living in the UK... --candlewicke 08:26, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
