Hi, I spotted this edit and thought it sounded threatening/confrontational. More to the point though, several of the dates added are wrong, so I will be changing some of the dates one by one. Thank you for the heads up JamminBen. I appreciate you saying something - I actually already warned this person about that edit summary yesterday. As you say, they are out of line on multiple levels. It’s good to see that someone came to the same conclusion I had.

There's very little to link any but a smattering of largely inactive accounts to the page, for which the AfD has already been re-listed once. As somebody that at least cast an eye towards the tone of the article once before, I'd hoped you may be able to provide a comment. Of course it's not necessary, and feel free to ignore this post. Unilateral deletion of New Nintendo 2DS XL

There was no consensus for that "merger" which had no other edits associated with it. The 2DS XL is not simply a "bigger Nintendo 2DS" but a different model more in line with the New Nintendo 3DS, and also has its own distinct reception that has been expanded upon. Could you assist me with Edge (video game) Its currently under GA review and addressed most of the issues. the main concern I have is the reception section. I originally added scores and some quotes but that wasn't enough for GA status and had to be revised. I revised as much as I could but still need some assistance on it. I'd appreciate any help really. :) ( I already requested assistance from Masem as well). I'm asking anyone with GA achievements under their belt. Hey, do you use this mag a lot? I found their review for To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere and thought I'd add it to the table if nothing else, because they chose to do a track-by-track for this one which is more difficult for encyclopedia articles, but they use K's (I assume "kerrangs") instead of stars or a number point system for ratings. I could've sworn we used a special template in their tables for the K's they gave (at least at one point), and I can't find an example of what I'm looking for. If we do, is it still even around? Might it be deprecated? Also, is the maximum amount of K's five? I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions if you don't know. Personally, when I use the source, I just use stars, because there’s conceptually no difference between four out of five stars, and four out of five “K”s - they both equate to a value of 80%. (WP:RSMUSIC says it’s a 0-5 scale.) But I don’t recall if my stance was the ending consensus or not. Seems like there were long, pointless debates on it, and kinda like that recent discussion about genre categories, I dropped out well before it was done because it felt like it wasn’t worth spending time on. I’d recommend doing it how you want and just not contesting it if someone corrects it to an existing consensus, though you could probably wade through the WT:ALBUMS archives if you’ve really got to know... This whole album is fantastic in different ways for different songs. "Whistleblower", "Blood on the Sand", and "Death from Above" also kick some serious ass. This is their best record, hands down. Hi Serge. Ordinarily I would go to Ad Orientem with issues like this, but he's on a semi-wikibreak at the moment so I thought you might know how best to deal with the situation, as editors don't seem to care about other non-admins admonishing them. I created the article Girl (Maren Morris album) a few weeks back, and an unnecessary note was later added to the opening by the editor Mathiasabra that the title was stylized in all caps—it's not consistent in sources, it makes no difference to nor enhances readers' understanding, and it makes the lead wordier than it needs to be. I removed it once and a week ago, came back to the article and found another editor (I didn't check who) had again added it, so removed it with a note this time. Just earlier, I discovered that an IP later that same day restored it again with an edit summary sniping at me, which didn't even really make a lot of sense as it didn't confront my point and was really trying to criticise me by saying my "entitlement" is "irrelevant" and that I "harass other editors with it"...all because I removed a note. I'm really about done with IP editors being critics while hiding behind anonymity, so it really irked me. As I do with a lot of IPs (as their geolocation can sometimes be a sign as to who they are, if they are block evading, etc), I found their address geolocates to Norway. I then thought it could have been the editor who was originally adding the note, and lo and behold, Mathiasabra lives in Norway, as stated on their profile. I believe they logged out to harass me because their only other edit is to a page Mathiasbra created, Ruston Kelly, which is a dead giveaway that it's them. Ss112 02:50, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

Hello, sorry if my contribution looked suspicious. It was meant to be a recognization of Mania's popularity instead, since few other (if any) Lego Ideas submissions got that many supporters in such a short timeframe. Also, I didn't really have much choice with the source, since the Lego Ideas page itself is the only option other than a "citation needed". On one hand I do agree that maybe I posted it too hasty, perhaps I should have waited until the third milestone (10000 subscribers) to avoid any doubts about attention whoring, since the third milestone is the final one and Lego Ideas doesn't look for user feedback anymore at that point. Because, on the other hand, I still think this is worth mentioning. Above all of this, please note that I didn't design that set, I'm just a Wikipedian who happen to like Sonic. So, what do you think? Would it be appropriate to restore that paragraph once the 10000 subscribers milestone is reached? It would be mere documentation at that point.

Hi there. Usually, with this sort of things, we’d only include it on Wikipedia if reliable reliable third party sources cover it. So, for example, if somewhere like IGN or Eurogamer do a story on it. As such, I doubt that would happen unless it gets to the point where it’s actually funded/approved for production. I’d do that over counting voters or signatures or that sort of metric. Thanks for the reply. I've been on Wikipedia for over a decade now, but I still have lots to learn! Also glad to see that someone else found a solution. By the way, I didn't want to "count votes or signatures" per se, I only mentioned the 10000 subscribers milestone because that's the final one on the Lego Ideas website, leaving the verdict entirely in Lego's hands at that point. That's why I (later) suggested that it would have been a proper timing for a mention on Wikipedia according to the NPOV criteria (e.g. "the idea was pitched on the Lego Ideas portal, and it reached the required 10000 subscribers in N days", with a future addendum like "the set was ultimately approved for production and hit the shelves on DAY" or "however, the set wasn't greenlit by Lego"). This was just an idea, though. As I said, I'm glad that someone more expert than me found a better way to handle it. Best regards.

Page protection for Knack II

Hi, you may remember me from bringing this to your attention a month ago concerning the matter of page protection implementation for Knack II (see your archive page). To recap, following your protection of it, a subsequent instance of vandalism occurred after a few days and I'd asked to have protection restored. However, I was informed more vandalism would have to occur for it to be re-implemented and to let you know in due course. Since that time in the month past, there have been (by my count) 10 instances of further vandalism on Knack II. Hey Serge! This is just a little something I wanted to ask you about. I know we consider Sonic Stadium an unreliable source but I just did some digging and it turns out the site's founder and one of its most active writers, Svend Joscelyne (who goes by "Dredknux" on the site) is a professional journalist who has written for high-quality reliable sources, including IGN, PCMag, and Mashable. TheJoebro64 - sorry for the delay in responding, I meant to earlier, but got caught up. On one hand, that’s impressive, I wasn’t aware of those credentials - most of the writers on the Sonic fansites (or any fansites) don’t have anything in the way of actual writing credentials or professional writing experience. On the other hand, there are still some other things to consider. What order did things go in? Did he start at SS, and then later move on to places like IGN. If that’s the case, I’m not sure it’d retroactively make his older SS stuff usable, especially if SS doesn’t particularly have any other arguments in favor of its reliability. And it does seem like WP:VG is trying to move away from the “unreliable mostly unless it’s this one writer” approach.
You could always run it by VG/S and see what people think. I think I’d probably still be leaning unreliable, but I don’t think it’s in a “well that’s a stupid question” territory either - there’s some merit in what you’re saying. Sergecross73 msg me 16:09, 22 March 2019 (UTC)

Correct procedure at RM/TR?

Hi Sergecross. Yesterday, I listed an article I made in my userspace at RM/TR that was rejected by the user Alex 21, who told me to "submit draft articles through AfC", as if I was unaware on how to do this if I wished to. I reverted his removal and told him that it was not a draft but a fully formed article that I made in my userspace and only wished to be moved over a redirect, and that if he did not wish to move it, to leave it for admins (like yourself and Anthony Appleyard) who will. I'm aware RM/TR says "If this is your first article and you want your draft article published" to go through AfC, but surely this doesn't apply to users who know and do not wish to go this route, and where the only thing standing in the way is a technical request like deleting a redirect? Is this user right, or is it more a case of "well, technically even experienced users shouldn't be listing these sorts of moves at RM/TR but some admins will make the move if requested there anyway"? I'm not the only user who lists these at RM/TR, but it appears Alex 21 sees himself as some kind of admin without actually being an admin by removing these requests whenever they're made. (For the record, I mostly only request it at RM/TR because admins like yourself who would perform the move aren't online and where it seems counterintuitive to wait hours.) Thanks. I’m not entirely sure. I don’t use DRN all that much. I usually poll WikiProjects or set up RFCs, though I don’t know if that’s the best route here either. I agree, it needs a complete reorganization, and that the FF articles are generally a good reference point. Despite my love of JRPGs, I’ve played very little of the series personally. After looking through your edits, I can tell you’re sick of people telling you on how to run this list, and how “it’s not encyclopedic”, and “this should be renamed to ‘list of music with negative reception’ etc. I am fine with the list’s existence and its title. My sole issue is that somebody decided to enter Sgt. Pepper’s, an album usually held as being one of the greatest albums of all time, and for no other reason than it’s properly sourced, you have been actively preventing anyone from removing that entry. It’s infuriating that you are forcing everyone to go through this bureaucratic red-tape loop for something that should have been deleted as soon as it was added. Just... why? Why are you being so obtuse on trying to keep the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band on this list? Do you really not see the contradiction with having Sgt. Sakura Wars sources for music and gameplay

So, I've been thinking about trying to take the Sakura Wars main series article up to FA status and creating a potential "Music of..." articles for the game's music (i.e. discography, creation, track listings, etc.). I'm trying to find some good sources around here (i.e. Oricon, RPGFan) for information on the CDs and legacy. Regarding the Gameplay section, I consulted with ProtoDrake about the possibility of using the instruction manual pages (in Japanese, of course) just like in the Sonic the Hedgehog game articles. Given my expertise and my involvement in the Sega task force, do you know if some of its members that are familiar with Sakura Wars can help out? Thanks. It seems like most of the Sega people I know are more about Sonic or Sega Hardware, outside of ProtoDrake, who you’re akready aware of. I’m afraid I won’t be helpful either, between a lack of Wikipedia time or knowledge on the series, but I wish you the best on the project. The worst music article has been renamed, without discussion, in the midst of a heated debate over the inclusion of Sgt. Pepper. The removal of the word "considered" seems like a possible attempt to undermine arguments that yourself and SummerPhD presented for Pepper to remain in the list. If Wikipedia is now pushing the article as a somehow objective account of the worst popular music, rather than a list of music that has been called the worst, then Beetles followers have impunity when it comes to gutting their band from the article (i.e. "This outfit is hailed by fans and critics alike, there's no way any of their records stand among the definitive worst in history"). I agree that their editing is not great - a number of poor calls and forced additions to poorly maintained lists - but it’s not ringing any bells for block evasion or anything.   • @Sjones23: It's normal for IPv6 addresses to rotate like this. In and of it's not an issue, the user has no control over it.   • Ferret may be able to tell you if a range block is feasible, but I’m still not good with them, so I just usually just revert and block over and over again, protecting articles that seem to be repeatedly targeted. Possibly sockpuppetry/canvasing from Misconceptions2 (talk · contribs), as I don't think it's very likely some random IP user finds the discussion and also happens to agree with him out of the blue when nobody else had commented for months. Initially, my reaction was the same as yours, but actually, a comment in the page history alerted me to the fact that I believe the note is true actually. I dont think an article can be at its true name due to technical issues. Apparently starting with “DK:” links to project space in the Danish Wikipedia. It’s kind of like how, if Nintendo published a game called “WP: Mario Bros”, we couldn’t name it that, because WP links to non-article Wikipedia-space like WP:RS, WP:AFD, etc etc. Does that make sense?
