A barnstar for you!

  The Writer's Barnstar
Well done with all the Fringe articles! I'm very surprised at the amount of content you've been able put out. And with real life things getting in the way of stuff, I'm happy that there are people still writing good episode articles. :) Sceptre (talk) 17:21, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
I can't take all the credit for the Lost articles; there are others such as thedemonhog who wrote some other articles, especially for seasons five and six where I did little. But I do realise how much the Doctor Who episode FAs (such as today's) have been used as models by other FA writers... Sceptre (talk) 22:20, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Over There (Fringe)

I hope that my comments at your FAC nomination haven't dispirited you. When I look back at them I'm reminded of a (possibly) apocryphal tale I was told when I joined Sperry Univac as a young systems analyst.

A senior manager tasks one of his subordinates with producing a report on some new thing or other. A week later the report appears on his desk.

"Is that the best you can do?" says the manager to his underling?

"Well, no, if you give me another week I'm sure I could improve it."

A week goes by, and the underling submits his amended report. Once again he's called into his manager's office, to face the same question:

"Is that the best you can do?"

"Well yes, it is, and I don't think anyone could have done any better" replies the underling.

"OK, I'll read it now." Malleus Fatuorum 01:50, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Re: Star Trek V FAC

I've made tweaks as per your comments, if you'd care to revisit I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the review! Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 17:34, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

A barnstar for you! Re

Thank you so much for the barnstar! Sorry for the late response by the way; I've been very busy, even after I returned from my vacation (which is why I haven't really worked on any articles in a while). If you wonder why I haven't given you a barnstar yet, just wait until either the season 10 or season 13 topic drives are done. :)

Favor

I think Chuck Versus the Cliffhanger just got failed for featured article, with the main criticism being that it was hard for non-Chuck viewers to understand it. As an experienced user and non-Chuck viewer, would you mind looking through the article? Thanks. --Boycool (talk) 02:22, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

If you don't want to, just tell me, and I'll move on. Thanks. --Boycool (talk) 17:35, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for your advice. The quote is taken directly from the source, where it was already italicized and bolded. As for the photo of Chris Fedak, if I can't find a better one, would it be better to remove it altogether? By the way, congratulations on your FA promotion. --Boycool (talk) 02:47, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

I hate to bother you, but would you mind looking through the "Production" and "Reception" sections one more time and telling me if it's ready for FA? --Boycool (talk) 16:00, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

How important were the DVD tidbits to Over There (Fringe)? Because, according to Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/The Beginning of the End (Lost), a commentary translates to about two sentences on Wikipedia. Will there really be a lot more revealed on the DVD than in Fedak's interviews or at Comic-Con? --Boycool (talk) 19:35, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for your advice, but I'm going to choose not to take it in this case. Nothing personal, I've just seen the season multiple times and don't plan on buying it. Without your constructive criticism on Chuck Versus Santa Claus, I probably wouldn't have made it this far anyways. Happy editing. --Boycool (talk) 01:54, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

I've adressed your comments at the 127 Hours FLC; I ran into some problems with the sourcing via official websites. Crystal Clear x3 06:33, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Just finished leaving comments over at that FLC now. The most brought up comments of mine were overlink and IMDb being used as a source. Crystal Clear x3 05:02, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
I've left my support after making some minor changes (regarding the box office totals) to the list, hope you don't mind. Crystal Clear x3 00:04, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

TV season/series pages

I was wondering, how much of a summary should the episode template have on the articles for a season of a TV show? I've been improving Doctor Who pages and noticed that they only contain a sort of preview summary for the episodes. Series One is the best of these, yet it still has this (except for "Dalek"). If I were to improve these, would I give an overview of the concept of the episode or actually reveal the ending? What is there now is neither. Thanks, Glimmer721 talk 21:33, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll work on that. I'm also guilty of adding too much detail. Glimmer721 talk 22:14, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
Also, I was wondering how I'd structure the series 5 article, which is the series I'm working on. The first section is called production, but the first two paragraphs are about the changes in the production team and then about the numbering issue. The rest is about filming. I was thinking I should move it and the "Casting" and "Trailers" section (which I'm planning to expand to include all publicity) below the episode list, but split it up into smaller sections. I'm not sure where the first two paragraphs should go. I also have a lot to add eventually about writing and filming/sets. I'm just not sure where to put all of it. Glimmer721 talk 01:54, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
I think I'm going to have the first two paragraphs, about the change in cast/crew and numbering, before the list of episodes, which will be before the casting, and move the rest to a production section which I will expand and will go after the casting section. I'll see how that works out. The article was rearanged to correspond with the others (except series 1), but I perfer the layout of the first series article. Thanks for your tips, Glimmer721 talk 17:08, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
