Gregangelo's Velocity Circus

Hi there again RickinBaltimore. I made some changes to the Gregangelo article a while ago; the wikipage is still not official I believe, however. Are there substantive edits you believe need to be made, or is there another procedural step I am unaware of that must be made to enable general viewing access to the page?

Get back to me when you have a moment. And again, thanks for your continued support--I appreciate you.

Hi there, just checking in again. I am eager to get this page up live!

Thanks, Zolahjelm (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:27, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Sorry, was away for the weekend so my responses were slow. It does appear to be written more neutrally than the original article, and this is in the main article space (As it isn't in your Userspace or as a Draft). RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:36, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Commodus Erasmus

Hello, I am concerned that you would think that Commodus Erasmus (Commercial Enterprise) is a hoax;- do you have any knowledge of Latin or the Roman Forum? I think otherwise it would have developed into a quality article. JS091793BRIGHTFIELD (talk) 11:25, 26 May 2017 (UTC)

Deleted page: Draft: The Software Toolworks

Hi, Rick -

I'm not an experienced Wikipedia author and didn't know how to proceed after the rejection of this draft page. Can you point me?

Toolworks was an important early PC software publisher - a lot more than just games. I think a lot of its history merits documentation in Wikipedia.

So I wrote a lot of content in the draft article - which obviously needs to be gone over by a more experienced editor - but some of which ought to be either in a Toolworks page or a combined Mindscape / Software Toolworks page. And all of it was rejected because there's already a Mindscape page which mentions Toolworks - incorrectly - as a subsidiary of Mindscape. (The relationship was complicated but never that.)

Am I missing something, or did the editor who did the rejection think that nothing I wrote is worth publishing? How can I get the content reviewed? Where can I look for help in editing this into the appropriate place?

Thanks for any help. Bilofsky (talk) 23:11, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi there, and I can explain what happened with your draft. Per Wikipedia rules, draft needs to be worked on within a 6 month period. This draft had not been published to the main space, and as such was eligible for deletion. If you wish I'll republish it for you as a draft, but you must be sure to work on it after this. PW-4U's speedy delete

Hey, I was creating a Wikipage on Anand Vanderavala, and it was closed because I apparently did "not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant". However, in this case, I believe I did, as I had cited that Anand was the child of two, famous, internet moguls, Cyrus Vanderavala and Priya Hirandani-Vandrevala. Please reconsider this, or alternatively give me any advice on how to improve this page. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by PW-4U (talkcontribs) 17:31, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi there, one thing about notability is that notability in itself is not inherited. Being the child of two moguls does not in itself make them notable, there needs to be something else about him that makes him notable. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:40, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

Girnarsoft's speedy Delete

Hi, I work in automotive space in India and mostly know about the nuances of the sector. Recently I was going through an article on Zigwheels and I found the information outdated and wrong. Started about editing it (My first time). Then I realised Zigwheel is actually relatively small (actually part of another company) and that online space is fast changing and there are no articles on it. Automotive online in India is heavily consolidate where top 10 portals are owned by only two parties. To explain the importance of this: Online sales contribute to 30% or Renault sales in India. That's how fast the space is changing. And to explain this it should start with defining two companies Viz. Girnarsoft & Cartrade. As I was editing Zigwheels I created a page on the company it is part of (Girnarsoft) and it was duly deleted citing "the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organisation, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant". Hence the above explanation. It would be a lot of info that has to go in. But, just felt that it is a start. Define one company, then define all it's subsidiaries. Then define the other company and define it's subsidiaries as these would primarily cover the online autospace of India. I am new to this, despite my going through the guidelines I may have committed mistakes, kindly lead me in case there are any sections which you felt promotional. Mostly the page has been created Mimicking UTC & Flipkart. United Technologies Company coz it's one of the biggest companies in world with House of Brands kind of structure (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brand_architecture) and Flipkart coz it's one of the leading E-commerce companies in India. Thanks in advance for your support and looking forward for inputs.

Regards, User:WikieditCD talk:WikieditCD —Preceding undated comment added 09:02, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

THe issue is that the company doesn't appear to meet the guidelines for a company in regards to notability. It wasn't the format of the page that was the issue, but the company's actual notability. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:15, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the response mate. The company is not so notable as the company is a perfect example of Branded House(precisely the reason I felt a need). Most of the notable auto portals in India like Zigwheels (which has a dedicated wiki page), CarDekho, Gaadi, bike dekho belong to this company while carwale, cartrade, droom, bikewale etc belong to another. And the reason why I felt a necessity of it. It's like Duracell having a page, but not P&G. As noted earlier, I was about to edit Zigwheels to be acquired by CarDekho, which is what you may find in a few articles. But it is factually wrong. So, to give a fair perspective of Indian auto E-commerce industry, it was important to explain how the entire autospace online is split b/w two companies. I just felt it makes more sense to explain the holding companies before we describe about Cardekho, Zigwheels, Carwale, CarBay, CarTrade,Droom (which combine to have about a billions of pageviews a month) and how each of these holding companies have different portals for different business models. Appreciate the inputs. And as mentioned this is my first time, so just though of starting in a space I am more acquainted with and inputs are more than gladly looked fwd to. Hi, I recently posted the Gregangelo's Velocity Circus/Arts & Entertainment page. I had numerous outside sources, including a Ted Talks piece, so I think it is apparent that the company is notable. I did not mean to promote the company. I just find the person who owns it very interesting and the circus troupe unconventional. Can you let me know what sections you found to be promotional/unambiguous advertising, and allow me access to my work. I did create a draft on a different document, but my sources are all on the page deleted.

I would like to keep the sections on Gregangelo's upbringing in there--the Cirque Du Soleil wiki page has that as well.

Please let me know soon!

Hi, I haven't gotten a response so I'm going to go ahead and rewrite the page with the guidelines on promotional and advertisement tones in mind. Please tag it first or go to my talk page if you do not like the new page or have any problems with it. I am very open to criticisms. Thanks RickinBaltimore.Zolahjelm (talk)

I swore I responded to this I am SO sorry! Mind like a steel sieve some days. Anyway, the troupe appears to be notable, but the original article was heavily promotional. I'll have a look at the new one here now. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:54, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi RickinBaltimore. No problem and thanks for getting back to me--I ended up getting caught up in finals so I only just recreated the page. I'd like for you to edit it and provide me with comments first before others do so because you have a working relationship with the article now. I also want to reiterate my desire to work with your constructive criticisms/feedback. Thank you again! Zolahjelm (talk) 03:07, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

It's still a bit on the promotional side, so I tagged the page for cleanup, not deletion. The first sentence to me starts this by saying "Gregangelo’s Velocity Circus/Arts and Entertainment claims it creates altered realities by incorporating the arts, technology, astrophysical concepts and cultural diversity into performance acts. " That could be worded more neutrally such as: "Gregangelo’s Velocity Circus/Arts and Entertainment is a performance artistic troupe that incorporates technology, astrophysical concepts and cultural diversity within it's performances." for example. Also, is the group called "Gregangelo’s Velocity Circus/Arts and Entertainment" or "Velocity Circus"? RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:49, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for the feedback, I am going to do my best to clean it up now. Let me know if it is still promotional by tomorrow. Zolahjelm (talk) 18:18, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Rick I saw you deleted the Photoconsortium page I was working on during the Wikipedia Editathon in Leuven today. The resaon for the multiple edits were of course in the editathon context. Yes I am involved in Photoconsortium, which is a non-profit organisation contributing content to Europeana. I hope a new page can see the light.

I am surprised by the speed deletion without proper discussion, while I was exactly editing it for improvement. So much for trying to contribute to the Wikipedia editathon.

Fred Truyen (talk) 14:46, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

The page was nominated for deletion due to not meeting our standards for notability for organizations. There also weren't any sources outside of the site of the organization, which doesn't count for a reliable source. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:48, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

Biinny

Hi RickinBaltimore, I saw you deleted the Biinny article, i'd like to know why? I contacted Biinny himself, and he really wants a wikipedia article so new viewers and Games Done Quick can see more info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GameShark (talkcontribs) 19:42, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

The issue is that Biinny doesn't meet our guidelines for inclusion. We have a set of criteria that one needs to meet, and he does not meet them unfortunately. Unless he have been covered in multiple independent reliable sources to show how he's notable, he's not going to have an article. To be honest a speedrunner really won't have much of a chance to have an article unless there's some outside significant coverage. Also, Wikipedia's not to be used for promotion or exposure. RickinBaltimore (talk) 19:46, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Deleted Page

Hi Rick, I am trying to make public the page Fanto (which you just deleted). I appreciate the strict guideline for Wikepdia and support the principals. I have updated the page to include the following (Under More Information). Does this help?

On June 12, 2014, the UK Gambling Commission awarded Fanto Gaming Ltd a remote pool betting gambling licence [1]

On September 5, 2016, Digitalsport published an article highlighting areas where the Fantasy Sports “Fantasy_football_(American)” market is heading according to Fanto. ‘[2]

I am using this page as a reference in order to create a wider awareness of the DFS market. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oulala_Fantasy_Football

Many thanks

The page you listed meets our standards for notability due to being covered in multiple 3rd party sources. Simply being awarded a gambling license isn't enough to establish notability. The article at the time of it's deletion merely mentioned the games that were able to be played on it, with nothing to indicate why it was notable. The article there would be a source, however is there coverage elsewhere? RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:06, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi Rick, many thanks for your response. I have managed to find additional links talking about the need for strong UX in Fantasy Sports http://blog.testbirds.com/testing-with-testbirds-from-fantasy-football-tips-to-fantasy-football-superstar/ and how start companies in fantasy sports market need an helping help - http://tecss.com/the-fanto-story/

there is also a story from their own blog about how Fantasy Sports landed in the UK - http://info.fanto.co.uk/blog/how-fantasy-sports-landed-on-our-shores

Would this help?

Thanks

Those links wouldn't be considered reliable sources though. Blogs are almost never considered reliable sources, so no those wouldn't help unfortunately. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:21, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Understood - I will see if there is anything else I can find. Thanks for your advice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JamesPopeFanto (talkcontribs) 17:32, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi Rick, I noticed you speedily deleted Chazz Millers full wikipedia page I created due to a violation to https://www.saatchiart.com/chazzoriginalz who is important to document for this history of Detroit. I started this page so the community and others can help to build on his history. The problem is alot of people in Detroit particularly African American's are getting their histories deleted or and others are claiming their history as theirs. Please help to preserve this authentic artist who has done so much. If there is an inappropriate link I promise to correct my errors. Thank-you for taking the time to read this and help me help you to make better decisions when I'm contributing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ThatChickOverThere (talkcontribs) 17:32, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Not a problem, I'd be happy to help. The issue wasn't his notability, but that too much of the page was a direct copyvio from his profile on Saatachart.com. If you're going to re-create the page, you can use that site as a source, but you need to paraphrase what is there, and not take whole passages word-for-word from the site. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:45, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

To recreate deleted pages

Hi Rick, I realised you deleted pages named Jeremiah Obuobi, Kulaperry and Rex Omar which a friend created and I wanted to help edit. Only realised it has been deleted after I joined wiki today. Perhaps he violated some rules here on wiki. But kindly grant me the permission to work on new ones with same content as I had the notification that I should contact you before creating new pages with same content. To recreate deleted pages

Hi Rick, I noticed that you have recently deleted a new page that I had been working on titled Newcastle & Hunter Rugby League? All the information on the page is legit and also on the previous page. I ask you to please allow me to continue working on this page and allow me the time to add sources etc. I am new to this, I don't jump on all the time, so once a gain I ask you to cut me a little slack in improving the page.(talk)

Hi there, if you are to work on this page and improve it to meet Wikipedia standards, I would suggest that you please work on this in your draft space, rather than create a new article right away. Since the article was deleted at a discussion previously, you'll need to show how the league is notable and expand the article so that the concerns in the previous AfD are handled. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:48, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

GrowthFountain speedy deleting

Hi Rick, I dispute your deleting of the page I created for GrowthFountain. I don't understand how it differs from those of similar companies, e.g. SeedInvest or WeFunder. Please be so kind as to explain. --Ordenary (talk) 21:32, 22 March 2017 (UTC)Ordenary

The page read as a promotional piece, and did not have proper sourcing, which were the main reasons for deletion. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:06, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

IAAP Page

Sorry to see you go. The article had zero independent reliable sources, which is required for any article. Threatening to not donate again doesn't help I will add. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:55, 15 March 2017 (UTC)

My apologies, I wasn't happy with your unilateral decision to delete the page. You didn't state your rationale for wanted to delete the page was for lacking independent reliable sources; you stated that the article was of insignificant value. I would be happy to provide independent reliable sources if that is what you require to undelete the page. Thank you. Louis Reed (talk) 14:46, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for the apology, and my apologies for being so blunt. I'm going to restore the page in your sandbox here: User:Louis Reed/sandbox. Feel free to work on it there, and once it's finalized let me know and I can help you move it if you wish, or you can send it through the articles for creation process. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:50, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi Mr. RickInBaltimore, Could you please take a look at the updates to the sandbox article and let me know if it meets the criteria of independent reliable sources? Many thanks. Louis Reed (talk) 19:39, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

It's been a few days so I hope you don't mind, but I republished the IAAP page. I cited references from Business Wire, Cryptosoft, and Barclays. Louis Reed (talk) 14:26, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

ActiveEon draft speedy deleting

Hi Rick,

last week you deleted a draft I was writing about ActiveEon for beeing too promotional. As it was the first article I ever wrote on wikipedia, I might not have been respectful of the guidelines, but it was a draft and I planned to reread it and edit it before publishing it. Can you explain why you deleted it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by PAUL BAQUÉ (talkcontribs) 14:19, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

The article, while in draft form, still was ad copy in the form it was it. Also, the only links were to the copy site and to no other sources. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:20, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi Rick, as mentioned this was the first article I ever wrote and I was planning to edit it heavily in order to be more respectful of the guidelines, especially regarding sources. If I publish it again in a new, edited, non-ad form, I would be glad to hear from you so that I'm sure it respects Wikipedia guidelines. Thank you very much! Paul Baque (talk) 08:32, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Can I suggest you start it in a Draft first? That's the best area to work on a page, to get all your sourcing and all ready before you publish. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:17, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Viktoria Azovskaja

Hi, please don't just delete or simply remove speedy deletion tags and follow the procedure. As far as I can see you didn't created talk page and didn't contested my nomination to delete the page Viktoria Azovskaja, I think that page is a nonsense: no content, she won in 2007, no sign of significance. Please pay more attention to your edits. Thanks Jone Rohne Nester (talk) 16:55, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

With all due respect, the article can be cleaned up, however there is a claim of notability, which is why I removed the tag as it doesn't meet CSD guidelines. If you feel needs to be deleted, feel free to nominate the page for deletion. RickinBaltimore (talk) 16:59, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
I've also tagged the page with a BLP Prod tag, as there is no sourcing on the page at all. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:07, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
@RickinBaltimore: Thanks for your reply, sorry if my previous comment sounded rude, but I was just surprised why deletion tag was just removed without contest. Well noted, I nominated page for deletion, so now others can join the discussion. Not sure how significant that "award" Miss Universe Estonia is. I found this article Miss Universe 2007 and the winner of Miss Universe 2007 is Riyo Mori , Thanks Jone Rohne Nester (talk) 17:35, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
No problem, and there was a "contest" I left it in the edit summary. I saw the AfD, and I will comment there on the article. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:36, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

AG Markets

Hey @RickinBaltimore: I saw you wrote back to me but I wasn't able to find the part where we talk about the AG Markets article. Anyways, what I wanted to tell you is that this broker/company has lots of clients I think people is interested on this, is not promotion you know? Also I can get reliable independent sources. So, bearing that in mind, can you tell me please how to make this a GOOD article? And not a deletable one?

Thanks in advance Ksekoliara

You'll have to ensure this is written from a neutral viewpoint, and that you do have independent reliable sources to show how the company is notable. I'm not against the recreation of the article at all, just make sure it's within the guidelines of the standards of a Wikipedia article. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:08, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

Removal of Worldline Page?

Hi @RickinBaltimore,

I noticed that the Worldline page was removed for being "advertising"

This was my first page, so apologies if I did something wrong. I was attempting to correct some inaccuracies on Wikipedia with references to Atos and Worldline.

I've been trying to correct inaccuracies that link to Atos, when in fact they should be linking to Worldline as they are a different company. I haven't been able to do this as a Worldline page does not exist, hence its creation.

Could you explain what it is I need to do differently please to ensure the page is not deleted?

Thanks GhWL (talk) 11:27, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

The article text was removed as it was a direct copyright violation from [1]. That was the main issue, this is not allowed per Wikipedia's rules. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:12, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

@RickinBaltimore Ah apologies. Are you able to revert the changes, and I will remove the copyrighted content and source, and provide original content please?

GhWL (talk) 14:18, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

Might I suggest creating a new article such as Worldline (company)? The reason being is that this is a currently good redirect to World line. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:26, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

Not a problem. Is it possible to get the source of the original page so I can resubmit?

GhWL (talk) 14:32, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

The issue with that is that I would be giving you a direct copyright violation, as it was an almost identical match to the link above. Unfortunately I can't provide you with that. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:36, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

OK, not to worry. I will remake the page under "Worldline (Company). Thanks for your help GhWL (talk) 14:46, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

fsxNet

Hi Rick. I'm really disappointed that you removed the page. I've been trying to follow correct process and wonder if you reviewed the talk logs, changes I had made, the fact the page had already survived a proposed deletion etc? I had responded to the second editor Oluwa2Chainz that proposed the speedy deletion on his/her talk page and was awaiting a reply that has yet to happen. I also note that Jimfbleak had acted prior to you but noted the survival of AFD and restored the page. I seek you help and the other guy I wrote too so that I can publish something about this network that meets the required standards. It honestly feels hard to get something across the line when what ever you put up is tagged for removal and removed so quickly. That's despite doing my best to meet the shifting sands of feedback posted in the form of removal notices. Any help / feedback appreciated. Please if you have not done (or can still do) review my replies and rational posted to the now deleted page's talk page and to Oluwa2Chainz I really don't want to have to repeat it all again. Best, Paul151 (talk) 03:36, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

Paul151, thanks for ping. I believe that the article is promotional in tone, although, looking at your editing history, you don't appear to have a COI. I restored because I've had my knuckles rapped recently for deleting another article that survived AfD. Rick, I don't know if this helps you at all. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:32, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
Actually this article was never put up for AfD. I searched the archives, and there wasn't an AfD. There was a Prod, but not an AfD. The article was indeed promotional in nature, and the sources in the article linked back to the main site for the software, not independent sources. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:26, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
Thanks guys for the replies and info it's genuinely appreciated. I am new to authoring and want to create something that is acceptable. Sorry some of the Wikipedia references (COI, Prod) I'm not familiar with. The original chap Oluwa2Chainz that proposed the speedy deletion so far seems to have not replied to what I had posted on the 'talk' page for the article but I guess now the page is gone the records of that response have also been lost? Rick, I did try to add a number of citations after the first proposal for deletion by Oluwa2Chainz and had aimed for websites beyond bbs.geek.nz that referenced fsxNet in the discussions. Some of those citations were instances of where the network was being discussed by developers in the content of contemporary development of BBS software and Fido Technical Networks discussions. Are those kinds of citations not enough? Would I need an article written by another source to validate things and jump the required hurdle? Where I am unsure also is trying to find the correct tone of being factual about stuff but not seemingly sound promotional. How can I / we work together to create an acceptable alternative article? With thanks Paul151 (talk) 01:26, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Removal of Turkish Work Permit

Hi RickinBaltimore, you deleted the Turkish Work Permit page on the 22 March 2017. You stated it was due to Copyright infringmement. I don't understand why ? could you explain please. Thank You. Also i check on my message page just now, and i think you might have deleted it because of plagiarism. However i didn't plagiarised or copy any sentence of the website. I totally wrote it in my own word. I really don't understand. Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muratcuka (talkcontribs) 07:33, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

There's a tool that anyone can use to determine how much of an article is copied from another source, and that is this here: [2]. This tool showed that a large amount of the article was taken from this page: [3], so much so in fact that it would be considered a copyright infringement on the site. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:29, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

Thank You very much, however i still say that it is not a copy. I wrote it all by myself. I will have to rewrite it all again. It is not fair. Sometime you cannot use other word to explain thing. Wikipedia must be a free and understanable platform for information. I really thing that this page must be retaken. Thank You — Preceding unsigned comment added by Muratcuka (talkcontribs) 12:45, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

Long story short, the page is getting used by someone in a private prison/mental health boarding school to talk to his friends. (I'm unsure as to the exact nature of the facility, but it does seem to be mental health related per his comments and info on the Internet about the place.) None of it is especially bad except that he's very obviously not supposed to be communicating with people on the outside, as his deleted talk and userpage edits showed that his communications were very restricted. It's the type of thing that could honestly get him a longer stay there.

I feel a bit awful about blocking him and I've asked for him to have the same done to him on Wikimedia Commons, but if he's in that type of place him going around the rules will only get him in serious trouble in a place like that. I'm more just letting you know since I know that you were involved in his talk page stuff last month and so you can keep an eye on things. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 14:21, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

FWIW, I support the block as a WP:NOTHERE block as well, seeing as they have exactly 0 edits outside userspace. They are using Wikipedia simply for social conversation. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:56, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

How can I add content for the company Cluster Systems without beeing deleted? I dont want to sells anything, I just want to write a story and true element on my page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mltgames (talkcontribs) 15:39, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

You have to show how the company meets WP:CORP using what are known as independent reliable sources. Not every company is notable, even if they exist. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:54, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Meaningful Broadband Model

Meaningful Broadband Model (talk) 21:03, 24 March 2017 (UTC)Dear RickinBaltimore (or another reviewer) of the Meaningful Broadband Model post. In our last feedback from you on behalf of Wikipedia, you said that you would be willing to unblock "meaningful broadband" if the name is changed. So we changed it to Meaningful Broadband Model. But that also was blocked, without an explanation. Please unblock the site or explain why it is now being blocked. I believe we have met your concerns by demonstrating that: Meaningful Broadband is not a self-promoting business but an academically led trend that has that has academic and political traction in Asian nations and intergovernmental organizations, such as World Bank. We have changed the name of the entry, from Meaningfujl Broadband to Meaningful Broadband Model to clarify that this is not a label foir a business but for a framework for test-market deployment that addresses ethical concerns of great interest to the Wikipedia readership. The entry includes references from third parties and publishers who are commenting on Meaningful Broadband and its implications, particularly among Islamic nations, as Indonesia is the primary country of deployment.

(talk page watcher) I don't know why there was no block message left at User talk:Meaningful Broadband, but there was definitely an explanation left at User talk:Meaningful Broadband (MB). All three of your accounts violate the Username policy because accounts cannot represent an organization, and accounts must not be shared (I believe we have met your concerns, We have changed the name). First, do not create another account. You, the person using the accounts, have been blocked from editing, and the two newer accounts are considered to be evading the first block. Please read the message left for you by Orangemike and follow the instructions there. —DoRD (talk) 21:52, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Can you have a look at the former page to see if your concerns with the latter are addressed? If it is a copyvio, it should be either rev deled or G12ed, if it is good, it should be capitalized correctly, and I don't see the need for a full RM when it could just be a technical move if the issues were addressed. Deletion of Draft:Agile CRM

Hi Rickin,

It would be extremely helpful if you could help me understand which portions of the article you found were promotional and if you could help me understand how could I edit them to be able to create the page.

Runa1123 (talk) 03:56, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

To be honest, the entire article read more as an advertisement, or a promotion of the software and company, and not an encyclopediac article. There also was not enough reliable 3rd party sourcing within the article itself. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:28, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi Rickin,

Thanks a lot for responding back. However, I had researched enough and seen many such similar websites to get guidance on language and content before I get going on my own. You could refer to the Hubspot Infusionsoft Insightly pages for reference to see what I am talking about.

In any which case, I know its asking too much but would you be able to help me edit the article to make it more Wiki ready. I have gone through the articles and frankly they seem good on paper but hard to implement. Would really appreciate your help. Is there any other way I could connect with you?

Runa1123 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:03, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

No problem, I'd be glad to look at it for you and give some recommendations for you. From what I'm seeing in the article right now, the first paragraph alone is more ad copy or promotion than information. This sentence here for example: "Agile CRM offers a one stop solution for all Customer Relationship Management needs for small and medium enterprises with an employee size between 1 to 500." is informational yes, but also reads as promotional. I'm going to look over the text more and see where it can be tweaked to be more neutral. Another thing I'd recommend is to NOT use PRWeb as a source. That's a site that's used by companies for their PR news, and is not a credible reliable source. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:38, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi Rickin,

I cannot tell you how glad you make me by agreeing to work on helping me improve my wiki contribution. Just wanted to give you the article on whole if you require it over email or word doc. if you prefer. Would look forward to your help and guidance. I am not 100% sure on how we can work on it together. If you would like, you can get in touch with me at runatripathy@gmail.com. Thanks much!

Are you working on this in your sandbox? You can post the article there, and I'll have a look at it there for you. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:30, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

I have put it in my sandbox but my doubt is if I hit save page, it would again get deleted for the same reason...but if I don't you would not be able to view it from my end...Right now the formatting has not been taken care of so let that be if you can view it. You removed my School project article on CQM for improper web hosting, Im going to need a little more explanation then that to make it better

Callardy (talk) 15:52, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

Deleted Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club - Australia

Hi Rick,

You deleted my page and I'm determined to get up up there. The cited reason was "does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject".

We are an Australian national motorcycle club and currently have a display in the Australian Motor Museum after invitation from the museum. Our national rallies in 2015 and 2016 were held at the Museum of Australia in Canberra. We are a part of the vehicle registration process in several states. I don't see a problem with the text I wrote. I'm happy to add citations but not sure how many I need (eg, do I put a link to every motor registration website?). Yes we are a small club (1,300 members) in a small country but I think significant and growing. Please help.

Alan PS. We don't ride Harleys. Does that matter? — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrAlanStevens (talkcontribs) 21:53, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Doesn't matter to me what you ride, what does matter is that there was absolutely no sourcing in the article to show why your group was notable. The only link provided was to your club, and that's not a independent reliable source. If you have these sources, and can show how your club meets WP:GNG, feel free to re-add it. I will also warn you as well that you have an admitted conflict of interest, and suggest you read that article first I just linked to before you recreate the article. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:12, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Dolly Roll

You deleted this sourced and referenced articled because some screwball was missing something, even a nationally known band is not enough for him, which sold approx. a million records and had some 20 albums published. You clearly didn't read neither the article, nor the sources. Please, restore. Gyurika (talk) 05:24, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Nothing in the article showed how they met WP:NMUSIC. Did they chart in Hungary? Were they signed to a major label? The links provided in your references didn't show this. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:10, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Yes and yes, they did show this. They completely sold approx 4 million LPs, in 1984 they toured the country. I didn't write copy numbers of all of their LPs. They recorded under the national label Favorit, had numerous videoclips, many original hits and cover versions, etc. There are quite some silly rubber-rules you have here. What's the point in deleting a verifiable, notable band with two interwikis in speedy, while only proposing the Mendez Family with doubtful notability for deletion? My later contributions to the article were completely ignored. A local small god puts on a template, and you can't remove it after adding sources and information?   Guideline and policy news

 • Following a discussion on the backlog of unpatrolled files, consensus was found to create a new user right for autopatrolling file uploads. Implementation progress can be tracked on Phabricator.
 • The BLPPROD grandfather clause, which stated that unreferenced biographies of living persons were only eligible for proposed deletion if they were created after March 18, 2010, has been removed following an RfC.
 • An RfC has closed with consensus to allow proposed deletion of files. The implementation process is ongoing.
 • After an unsuccessful proposal to automatically grant IP block exemption, consensus was found to relax the criteria for granting the user right from needing it to wanting it.

  Technical news

 • After a recent RfC, moved pages will soon be featured in a queue similar to Special:NewPagesFeed and require patrolling. Moves by administrators, page movers, and autopatrolled editors will be automatically marked as patrolled.
 • Cookie blocks have been deployed. This extends the current autoblock system by setting a cookie for each block, which will then autoblock the user if they switch accounts, even under a new IP.

Deletion of Eliezer (Eduardo) Zeiger

Hi, I'm not sure why this page was deleted. Although I copied some of the information directly from the Torah Science Foundation's website, it was well referenced and it was not the sole source for the article, nor was it a copy of the entire page. I would be grateful if you could explain the criteria for using information from another website to uphold facts included on a Wikipedia page, so that I don't make the same mistakes again. Thanks. 238-Gdn (talk) 13:48, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

While using information from another site is always good, and excellent for sourcing, the problem was the page was too much of a copy from the Torah Science site, in fact there was enough that they copyvio tool 12 brought up enough red flags to show copyright violations. If you can re-write the article, I'd recommend using the tool to check how much of the page is seen as a copyvio. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:51, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Deletion of Fantoria

Hello, I noticed that you deleted the Fantoria page ( I was also suspected of sock puppetry—just found out what that means, kind of dig the name yet hate that I was accused). I contacted a friend who knows the company and founder who then tried to make better edits. I can see how it may be seen as such (sock p) due to our back and forth on editing, but it was not. We're just apparently bad newbies. The creation was not for promotional purposes etc but rather a starting point database for Fantoria, collecting information about it from many sources as a California based publishing company. The name is for both the company and the imaginative world with the same name. It's quite an interesting company and concept that I felt warranted a Wikipedia page that would grow as the company grew. Please have a reconsideration. Please accept my apologies if it came across malicious or if I did anything violating (I was unaware). But I do thing the page has a legit reason for being on Wikipedia. Maybe you could help with making it more legit, if I'm missing something? It was made in total support. Thanks Creativecat2016 (talk) 18:50, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Nothing malicious from you that I can see, however that wasn't the reason for deletion. The biggest issue is that the company needs to meet WP:NCORP, which is the guidelines any company needs to meet notability standards on Wikipedia. Also, there didn't appear to be any independent reliable sources to indicate why the company was notable. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:59, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Ahhhhh. Thanks for that. Is there a way you can bring back the text from it? As I go through the links you gave, I would still like to use the text and follow the guidelines to do it right—if it's doable at all. Thank you so much. Creativecat2016 (talk) 19:29, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Mr. Baltimore I have read the copyright issues and it is vague in this case. Yes, I wrote as closely as possible to the original text in order to REFERENCE it) I do not understand why this is a problem? We in Africa have a referencing problem making it difficult to put up important information on wikipedia. I have seen similar pages with similar quotes. Excuse me but what is the international limit for plagiarism? how may words does the entire article even contain?) so what is next? will you put back up? I think you are trying to Censor without regard. Please do something about this. I will rewrite the üage if I have to in a more "Journalistic" manner. You guys surprise me sometimes. 14:00, 5 April 2017 (UTC)DaSkeptik (talk)

I'm not censoring you at all. The problem was there was too much of the article that was taken word for word from the source itself. This is considered a copyright violation, and is not allowed here. You're more than welcome to re-publish the page, but please use the sources to write the article in your own words. Summarize what the article says, but don't paste a word for word copy. Science of the Stream of Consciousness

Hello Rick in Baltimore @RickinBaltimore: I just found the messages from WikiDan61 about his recommendation that my article called "The Science of the Stream of Consciousness" be deleted because it duplicates another article. As per Dan's suggestion, I immediately wrote an appeal and went to the article to post the appeal. But of course I found that you had already deleted the article. I would still like to appeal the delete. I think it is a mistake. Please find immediately below the appeal I was going to post. Let me know what I should do next to follow through with the appeal. The appeal is addressed to "Wikipedia Editors:"

Hello Wikipedia Editors, One of your editors has taken the position that an article that I have just written for Wikipedia is on a subject “about which Wikipedia already has an article,” and he has tagged my article for speedy deletion. The article that I have written is called “The Science of the Stream of Consciousness,” and the prior article that your editor thinks is about the same subject is called “The Stream of Consciousness.” I’m writing to ask you to keep my article on “The Science of the Stream of Consciousness,” and to make the case that it shouldn’t be deleted. The “Stream of Consciousness” article and the “Science of the Stream of Consciousness” article that I have just submitted are entirely different. The “Stream of Consciousness” article discusses the phenomenon of the stream of consciousness, and offers a potpourri of several different ways that people see the stream of consciousness. In contrast, the “Science of the Stream of Consciousness” article discusses the science that studies the phenomenon of the stream of consciousness. It does so by: (1) defining the science of the stream of consciousness and (2) presenting the findings of the science of the stream of consciousness by describing the findings that were made by each of the four historical phases of the science of the stream of consciousness. Wikipedia has often acknowledged and accepted pairs of articles that embody this same type of distinction between: (1) a phenomenon and (2) the science that studies that phenomenon. For example, Wikipedia has an article called “Rocks (Geology) and an article called “Geology”.” “Rocks” talks about rocks, and “Geology” talks about the field that studies rocks. Another example is that Wikipedia has an article called “Bird” and an article called “Ornithology.” Another example is that Wikipedia has an article called “Atom” and an article called “Atomic Physics.” There are many many more examples in Wikipedia of this distinction, but I think these three examples should show you what I mean. To summarize, the distinction between the “Stream of Consciousness” article and “The Science of the Stream of Consciousness” article is that the first article discusses a phenomenon and the second article discusses the science that studies that phenomenon. And this is the main reason that “The Science of the Stream of Consciousness” should not be deleted. Thank you for considering my appeal. I hope you will accept my article on “The Science of the Stream of Consciousness.” I think it is an interesting and timely article that will introduce your readers to many of the things that can be learned from scientifically studying the stream of consciousness. After 100 years of tabooing the study of the stream of consciousness, modern science is just now slowly beginning to open the door to studying the stream of consciousness again. I think that as the science of the stream of consciousness develops, it will have the potential to solve a great many clinical and sociopolitical problems. All the Best, Henry M. Vyner, M.D.

Again, Please let me know what I should do next Rick. And hello. I grew up in Baltimore and had seasons tickets for Colts games as a kid and went with friends. Back then we could get seasons tickets for all 6 home games for a total of $12 to sit in the end zone! Every once in a while we'd end up chasing a football from a PAT or field goal onto the field because if we got it, they'd let us keep it. All the BestHmvmd (talk) 04:18, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

Now that's some history there with going to Colts games! The biggest issue with the Science of Stream of Consciousness was that is was too identical to the existing article. It may be something to be added to the existing stream of consciousness article I would think itself. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:27, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

I removed the article text here, as I'd prefer to not have this on my talk page. Reviewing what I saw, it still appeared to be more of a promotional article, and I didn't see that the company met WP:GNG. Reflexis Systems Page

Hi Rick, Can you kindly explain why you deleted the Reflexis Systems page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Floeckr (talkcontribs) 18:02, 6 April 2017 (UTC)

The company didn't meet our guidelines for company notability, which was the reason for the deletion. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:10, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
That would be an appropriate answer to why an article was deleted after AfD but it would be more helpful to explain the significance of WP:CSD#A7. Thincat (talk) 08:47, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Marco Börries

Hi,

I'm curious about your decision to speedy this article when an editor was still working on it only two hours before, which from the preview shown is plainly an attempt by a bilingual editor to add sourced material from the German Wikipedia through gradual translation (while keeping untranslated material commented out). Can you shed any light? Maybe BLP got even tighter when I wasn't looking, but this seems rather an overreaction, especially when the editor responsible for the recent edits hasn't so much as been notified. What seems to have attracted the speedy in the first place is an editor who stuck a BLPPROD tag on it only six minutes after the last productive edit, the tagging editor in question also having been going around creating absolutely scores of the most marginal BLPs imaginable. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 07:04, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

The issue was that there was nothing on the page. The data that was not shown was a direct copy and paste from the German WIkipedia site, which also would have been a CSD deletion under A2. I have no issue with the page being recreated, but I'd prefer it to be sourced properly. The BLPProd wasn't the issue, it was that it was an article that didn't show any notability. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:32, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
There are plenty of references in the commented section (which is in German). I appreciate that this might not be immediately obvious to readers, but I would expect editors (in particular admins) to inspect the source before making editorial (or administrative) decisions. Disambiguation link notification for April 11

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2016–17 Major Arena Soccer League season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chicago Mustangs. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Wikipedia:Be a giant dick

Why is "WP:be a giant dick" an implausible redirect to WP:Please be a giant dick, so we can ban you Siuenti (씨유엔티) 13:39, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

It's not a needed redirect. I honestly can't see anyone searching for that exact title, and being redirected to the humor essay. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:45, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
You don't think someone might not remember the exact title? Siuenti (씨유엔티) 13:48, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
I don't see it being a heavily searched item. Either way, it's not a redirect I'd keep around. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:51, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
Um I don't think those are speedy deletion criteria for redirects, but I haven't checked recently. Siuenti (씨유엔티) 13:56, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
It's an implausible redirect as in it's not a search term that will be used to locate the article. If you feel this is in error, you're welcome to take it to deletion review. Don't take it personally, I have removed the CSD tag on a few redirects you created that I felt were plausible. This one I felt was not. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:59, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
Would you mind if I took it to RFD and proposed to create it? Same with bitethenewbies? Siuenti (씨유엔티) 14:04, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
Of course not. If they say ok to it, then I'll be fine with it. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:05, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
WP:BIGDICK would be more plausible  :) — O Fortuna velut luna 17:40, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Value should live and prosper

Dear RickinBaltimore, you speedy deleted the wiki page of Incomlend, that I have recently created. And with bigger speed deleted the discussion page. I wonder why and I kindly ask you to bring it back. The information is unique and contains value to the readers. I have put a lot of efforts, first, to create it and then to post. Thus, I believe it should be revived. Thank you, in advance! Diana.yakimchuk — Preceding unsigned comment added by Diana.yakimchuk (talkcontribs) 17:10, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

As I stated on User talk:TonyBallioni, the reason I deleted the page was that the company simply does not meet our guidelines any company needs to be considered notable. Also there weren't any independent reliable sources to show how they were notable. One final thing, the page read vaguely promotional and that was another reason for deletion. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:13, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Geo Ivery

Dear RickinBaltimore, you deleted the wiki page of Geo Ivery, that I created. I wanted to know why and if you can please put the page back up. It is all complete and accurate information with which the fans of Geo Ivery would like to know. The references are all published online as well. If you want me to change the references then I can do that as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Geomagick139 (talkcontribs) 17:56, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

It's not that, but that the article didn't show how he met our guidelines for notability. You claimed the books had "worldwide attention" and "won multiple awards". What awards? What attention? The only links were to the author's book, and not independent reliable sources. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:08, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

I'm not asking you to restore this article, but your use of WP:CSD#G5 is incorrect. For G5 to apply, the creation has to occur after the block of the other "user". The article was created before the block. See the first bullet point at G5.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:08, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Talk:Against The Current (band)

Please restore Against The Current (band) as it is needed as a redirect to Against the Current (band). It's a long story. Hyperbolick (talk) 20:51, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Can you fill me in on why? I'd be happy to, just like to know the story. The current page is salted right now as you saw, and I'd be ok with a redirect, but I do like me some stories :) RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:58, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
Far as I can tell the article was repeatedly recreated at different titles over years until the band got notability enough that the last, the current blue-linked version stuck. It came up as a possible when I was fixing a disambiguation link to the page Against the Current. The disambiguation tool liked to suggest the red link first title, now salted. Which is why I can't make a redirect of it until I become an administrator, which I haven't even really looked into yet. Hyperbolick (talk) 21:09, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
Works for me, I've created the redirect to the page now. Hopefully that should be all. RickinBaltimore (talk) 00:13, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
Should be all, yes, thanks. Hyperbolick (talk) 12:25, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

A10 and sandboxes

Hi, would you mind restoring Eleanorge/sandbox and moving it back without a redirect to User:Eleanorge/sandbox? This seems like a draft that the user can continue working on in their sandbox. Thanks! – Uanfala (talk) 21:47, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

All done! RickinBaltimore (talk) 00:11, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
Many thanks! – Uanfala (talk) 11:48, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

On a related note, deleting User:TheSaint250/sandbox as U5 seemed a bit harsh to me. Granted, a new account focused on US politics is not exactly encouraging, but the account was making useful-looking edits in mainspace as well as their sandbox. I was in the middle of declining the CSD when you deleted it. I don't think it's a big loss to the encyclopaedia, just wanted to sound out your reasoning on it? GoldenRing (talk) 14:45, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

I'd say it was useful, except those infoboxes weren't being used elsewhere, but it seemed like they were copying and pasting them on their sandbox page for some reason. That to be seemed to lean to the whole U5 criteria, in that they were using that as a "staorage page" for lack of a better term. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:53, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

What is U5? I don't know what happened except for I got on to my sandbox and everything was gone. I had not been planning to use those anywhere and was only making those for other off-Wikipedia projects. Can someone explain what happened? -TheSaint250 21:28

I'd be happy to explain. CSD U5 is a reasoning given to speedy delete a page on Wikipedia, as a user page being used for activities not related to Wikipedia's goals, or being used as a Web Host. Since you said you weren't planning on using them on Wikipedia, and planned on using them for off-Wikipedia purposes, this would fall under that category. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:27, 14 April 2017 (UTC)

Impeachment of Dilma Rousseff

the consensus on the talk page has been that of course she is lame and out of her mind (or something) so everything she says is undue. I think you should take a closer look. How can WP have an article that covers a months-long judicial process and say NOTHING about anything but the prosecution case? Strictly speaking, I should have flagged it as an egregious BLP violation months ago but a fair amount of work has gone into documenting every smear against this woman, so adding in the RS from the international media and her own statements on the subject seemed like the inclusionist thing to do. Seriously, please take a closer look. Elinruby (talk) 14:49, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

I did read the page over prior to reverting back to the version that I used, and to be honest I fail to see the BLP violations. The sources that are in the article certainly meet WP:RS. This is something that needs to be taken to WP:NPOVN if you feel there is undue weight with regards to neutrality. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:59, 13 April 2017 (UTC)

Deleted Audiohub.gr

Good evening Rick.

Regarding deleting Audiohub.gr, I might have missed something in regard to forums and online magazines not being allowed on Wikipedia on the first place? If so I apologize for wasting your time, if on the other hand web based magazines and forums are allowed to have a page please indicate (link?) the procedure for un-deleting the page. Tnx in advance — Preceding unsigned comment added by Panagiotis Karavitis (talkcontribs) 13:15, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

It's not that online magazine aren't allowed, they are, but they need to meet our guidelines on what makes a site notable. The site didn't seem to meet these guidelines, hence the nomination for deletion and subsequent deletion. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:19, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
Tnx for the swift reply Rick. Audiohub.gr is only a year old but has managed to receive approx 200.000 hits from several dozens of countries (based on Google Analytics stats which I could provide). I am the publisher (a Dr in Medicine and editor of US based mag Part Time Audiophile, also a contributor to other audio related magazines ) but Im afraid all this wont be enough to conveince you or the other admins that it is worthy of being on Wikipedia. It is a pity as Audiohub's importance for the local community is growing exponentially, the numbers are quite impressing considering we are talking about a niche market and an online mag based on a small country. No, the NY Times hasn't covered us on the front page yet so I' ain't sure we will be worthy of Wikipedia any time soon.
Well you don't need to be in the NY Times, but do you have coverage in other reliable sources? RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:24, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
TBH it will be very hard not just for me but for any given relatively new, niche market magazine or forum to provide third party citations from mainstream publications. In the field of audio reviews the two oldest US based magazines have been barely mentioned in non related mags maybe once or twice (both these are still printed on paper and have a page on Wikipedia, The Absolute Sound and Stereophile). I went through the "reliable sources" paragraph and the only applicable entry in question is the one under exceptions:

Exceptions

Content from a collaboratively created website may be acceptable if the content was authored by, and is credited to, credentialed members of the site's editorial staff.

Some news outlets host interactive columns they call "blogs", and these may be acceptable as sources if the writers are professional journalists or professionals in the field on which they write, and the blog is subject to the news outlet's full editorial control. Posts left by readers may never be used as sources (see WP:Verifiability § Newspaper and magazine blogs).

Self-published material may sometimes be acceptable when its author is an established expert whose work in the relevant field has been published by reliable third-party publications. Such material, although written by an established author, likely lacks the fact checking that publishers provide. Avoid using them to source extraordinary claims. Self-published information should never be used as a third-party source about another living person, even if the author is a well-known professional researcher or writer

If I were to leverage on the Exceptions rules which leave some space for "acceptable content when authored/credited to pro journalists" then I would like to request the "un-deleting" of Audiohub.gr

My CV can be found here: https://parttimeaudiophile.com/contributors/ http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/reviewers/karavitis.htm

Sample works: https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2016/08/30/doctors-orders-take-a-musical-journey/ http://www.enjoythemusic.com/magazine/equipment/1214/Quad_Pa_One_Headphone_Amplifier.htm https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2016/10/30/nagra-hd-dac-review-or-closing-the-gap-between-digital-and-analog/

I can provide another 100+ reviews and articles though I doubt the number would make any difference. Please let me know If there is something else I can do.

Anyway, tnx for your time and sorry for not using the "talk" channel properly. Panagiotis Karavitis (talk) 15:13, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

It looks like you might be the only source for this article then. If that's the case, then sadly the site wouldn't meet WP:WEB. One source alone, especially self-sourcing, wouldn't be enough to justify notability. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:16, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
Not sure I follow you. There are other contributors on Audiohub.gr and I can provide links to their articles:

https://audiohub.gr/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=289 from Antonis Birmpas, accredited journalist from the High End Society (Germany) https://audiohub.gr/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=276 from Chris Panagiotides https://audiohub.gr/download/file.php?id=1046 and so on. Am I missing something? Panagiotis Karavitis (talk) 15:26, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

All of those links are directly from the subject of the article though, Audiohub.gr. Those would not be considered reliable sources. The sources needed have to be completely independent of the subject itself. The fact they wrote an article doesn't make the page notable in itself. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:30, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
The exceptions rule says:

"Content from a collaboratively created website may be acceptable if the content was authored by, and is credited to, credentialed members of the site's editorial staff" and Audiohub.gr falls under this rule, right? The site's editorial staff falls under the "...writers are professional journalists or professionals in the field on which they write...", correct? Unless I got it all wrong Audiohub falls under these rules. Panagiotis Karavitis (talk) 15:43, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

The issue is that the article is wholly self-sourced at that point. So the exceptions wouldn't apply in this case. If you feel I'm mistaken, you can request a look at this at WP:DELREV as well. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:55, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
I clearly feel that you are mistaken Rick but on the DelRev the discussions are far more important than a small, year old Greek web magazine. Maybe too much of a fuss for a 120KB Wikipedia page simply stating that Audiohub.gr simply exists? I think Wikipedia should clearly state in the rules that the rules apply only for established sites, big commercial entities and the like, so no new comer with a mere 200.000 hits in their first year should even think of posting a page. A bit sad, all of this. Panagiotis Karavitis (talk) 16:20, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

MagicJungle123's Sandbox?

I noiced that on April 13, you cleared out my sandbox. Do you have a reason as to why you did so?

MagicJungle123 (talk) 12:11, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

The sandbox was cleared under CSD U5 "Pages in userspace consisting of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals, where the owner has made few or no edits outside of user pages". Reviewing your edit history, outside of this talk page and your user page the only other edits you have made were to your sandbox, so this fell under CSD U5. How Start Article that was deleted about important Company

Hi, RickinBaltimore. I am new to Wikipedia and I was looking to post information about Open-E Company but it was deleted. This company is a major software developer and the information in wikipedia helps engineers and IT companies to find out about new solutions. How can you include this information and not delete the page? Thank you very much for your guidance.Scaledy (talk) 15:40, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not to be used to promote or advertise a company. The issue is that Open-E does not meet the minimum standards for notability on Wikipedia. The article was nominated, and deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Open-E (company), and the most recent entry was just the company logo and link to the website. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:50, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Thanks RickinBaltimore. I understand that the notability of organizations or products, consider any significant or demonstrable effects, in this case there are evidence about how The technological solutions developed by the company have been recognized. Is it possible to have help from the Wikipedia team to properly write the article?Scaledy (talk) 16:05, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Are there any outside 3rd party sources to show HOW the company is notable though? RickinBaltimore (talk) 16:14, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Hello RickinBaltimore,

You recently deleted my wiki page about Alex Jona. I believe that this was done in error. She is an important figure in the Chaldean-American community and a proud member of the Women Owned Business League. I'm a trying to add more important Chaldean figures to wikipedia because there aren't many current figures. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sherbzz (talkcontribs) 16:46, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

The issue was that she does not appear to meet out guidelines for notability, and the article read more as promotional than as an encyclopedic article. Just being a business owner isn't enough unfortunately to be notable, regardless of her heritage. RickinBaltimore (talk) 16:50, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Deletions related to UniSoft and UniSoft Infotech Corporation

Hi, apologies in advance for not knowing the process...

The above-mentioned articles were incorrectly speedied and have now been restored, but I'm trying to track down any other associated redirects that may have been been deleted in the meantime, as they may themselves previously have been articles (see Uniplus+, for example).

I haven't figured out an easy way to tell what's been deleted, but I noticed that you had deleted both Uniplus+ and Uniplus.

Two requests: can you restore Uniplus, and do you know of any other redirects or articles that may need to also be restored? Thanks, NapoliRoma (talk) 21:21, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

Deleted Page: Help Needed

Thank you for looking into this for us. The article Draft:Agile CRM was nominated for "Speedy deletion" under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. I have reedited for the forth time to ensure that it does not come out as promotional anyway. This is a company page and we would write about the company. Before we contest this, may I know the reason or feedback on how we can pass your criteria? Thanks so much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Runa1123 (talkcontribs) 14:30, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

I've re-read the deleted draft and to be honest, it would still fail for CSD A7, that is being a non-notable company. The article still read somewhat as advertising, however even with cleaning this up, I don't see anywhere that Agile CRM meets out notability guidelines. Deletion of sandbox page

Dear RickinBaltimore,
Thanks for all your work keeping Wiki clean and tidy - I just wanted to speak to you about a sandbox page that got deleted= User:Whispyhistory/sandbox. Whispyhistory is very new to editing and still getting to grips with how Wikipedia works - it was a real blow to their confidence to have their sandbox deleted, as they thought that this was a place where they could practice and get advice (hence the Help Me on their usertalk) before things would be reverted or deleted. The edits were in good faith, even if they were not quite hitting the mark. I will have a chat with them about how important it is to put things in their own words, and could you possibly give new editors a little more time to make adjustments before deleting sandboxes in future please?
Thanks! Zeromonk (talk) 10:48, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

I do understand your concern, however the page had existed for 4 DAYS prior to the deletion. That's plenty of time to re-write the page and help get rid of a lot of the copyright issues that the page had. I understand the editor is frustrated, but the page was almost a word for word copy of the source, hence the deletion. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:20, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

Deleted page - Chemist-4-U

I was writing an article for Chemist-4-U and I was under the impression that it was still in the drafting stage. I understand that it has been deleted citing G11 of Wikipedia rules. I can understand, from what had already been written, that this would appear like this. However, as the article was still in the drafting stage, more information was going to be added to balance out so that it wouldn't be advertisement and would be more encyclopedic. If you are able to check the saving logs, and look at the changes, you will see that I had previously put things that would be advertising, but I removed it because I knew, on reflection, that it wouldn't be suitable to appear on Wikipedia.

I've not even been given the chance to amend what was written with a warning, looking at the log on the page, it shows that the article was flagged for speedy deletion at 15:07BST of 27/04/2017, and then it was deleted less than a minute later. I didn't get a chance to amend the information already included in the article. The pages that were referenced were only award articles because they were the most recent things that Chemist-4-U has been associated with. Can this decision please be reviewed so that changes can be made to the article before a submission for review is made upon completion? As I have already said, the article was still in a drafting stage and was not being written for advertising purposes, but for informative purposes.

INNOX (talk) 14:37, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

The issue is that even if a draft is being created, our rules for advertising still applies. As it stood, the article read more as an advertisement for Chemist-4-U, rather an encyclopedic article on the company. You're of course welcome to recreate the article, but please be mindful of the promotional tone, and keep the article in as neutral of a tone as possible. Would you mind hiding this gross edit 17? In Wikipedia, purly disruptive dits are frequently hidden from public and this edit I think should be so. Hi. This is the image that was used 18. Could you delete it? I am not sure if it is eligible for deletion but it looks really disturbing and does not seem to have any encyclopefic use. 2600:1:F154:62EA:54A8:1704:69BA:7522 (talk) 18:43, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

And by the way, may all images by the original uploader 19 be deleted? Every one of them has to do with male genitals and I don't see any encyclopedic use for them. And his talkpage is full of speedy deletions. 2600:1:F154:62EA:54A8:1704:69BA:7522 (talk) 18:47, 28 April 2017 (UTC)

Question on article creation

Hello, I received the below message from you and was wondering if you could clarify a few things for me?

This page has been deleted. The deletion and move log for the page are provided below for reference. 14:35, 28 April 2017 RickinBaltimore (talk | contribs) deleted page Draft:Precor (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)

I am a current employee of Precor and we have been trying to establish an active Wikipedia page with our business information but every time we have tried our draft gets deleted or account is blocked. The reasonings that we are provided with are: 1. Using Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising. 2. Unambiguous advertising or promotion)

Is there a specific line or word that is triggering this? Any information/feedback you could provide would be great.

Thank you! Danielle (talk) 22:52, 2 May 2017 (UTC) DRainwater

Reviewing the draft that I deleted, this was a purely promotional piece on the company itself. It was not written from a neutral viewpoint, and did not contain any independent reliable sources to indicate why the company was notable. Please not that Wikipedia is not to be used as a vehicle to advertise your company. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:02, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

deleted page S M Imamul Huq

Hi you just deleted the above page for copyright infringement. I had placed a tag on it saying it was in use and a major rewrite was going on. i don't know who tagged it for speedy delete but it's a shame that you couldn't have waited until I removed the tag to see if it still violated the copyright rules. I had checked out the subject and he is almost certainly notable and had spent quite a lot of time rewriting the article. Was the tag still on there when you deleted it? Domdeparis (talk) 15:32, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

I did see the in use tag, however the page was a near 100% copy of the site that was the copyright infringement. I appreciate the effort, but this was a word-for-word copy of another site's material, and that's a clear copyright violation. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:34, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

NACARID PORTAL ARRAEZ DELETED PAGE

Good Morning, I saw that you deleted my intent to write an article about writer NAcarid Portal Arraez. I know I have created similar articles but its due to unexperienced article writing. Can you please explain what is happening that my article is not being accepted. I created a new one (not with the intention to fool Wikipedia) just because I thought I could not create with that name again, and I read a couple of reference guidelines so I wanted to apply them. How can I do? The new one I created is NAcarid Portal (Writer) could you check and see if I did a better job and what can I do exactly to get it approved? Pitu093 (talk) 15:40, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Deleted Page Wanda E. Brunstetter

Okay, so I am obviously new to Wikipedia generally and this is my first page I tried to add. I know the author is notable and significant, I'm assuming the reason I was deleted was because I didn't have any info on the author, just on her bibliography? If I add a biography section for the author, will that make the page notable? Jolinda42 (talk) 19:48, 5 May 2017 (UTC)Jolinda42Jolinda42 (talk) 19:48, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Jolinda, the reason the page was deleted was that the page only had a list of her books and nothing else. There wasn't anything to show how he was notable, nor were there any resources to validate this. You'll have to have these resources to show how she meets the guidelines [[WP:AUTHOR|listed here]. RickinBaltimore (talk) 19:52, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Ok, so I made a new page, with a bio, affiliations, and awards. I also added a section for the bibliography at the end, but I haven't filled it in yet. Assuming the page fits the requirements for notability now, do you have access to the bibliography I created originally, or do I have to recreate it? Cloud Campaign Deleted

Hey Rick,

Trying to understand the rationale behind deleting the Cloud Campaign Wiki page. The format followed that of another company in the same industry's page Hootsuite . It wasn't promotional, merely informative. Please let me know the steps we need to take to get the page back up on Wikipedia.

Thanks

Ryanaborn (talk) 21:09, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

The article for one was unsourced, except for a link back to the company's website. More importantly however, the page was directly promotional, with language such as "Through this process, Ryan realized there was a great opportunity to build a 'set it and forget it' type solution for SMBs, and thus Cloud Campaign was born." is clear advertising. Finally, the company doesn't meet our general guidelines for notability as well. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:13, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

"unused" Template deletion

Hi RickinBaltimore,

You recently deleted 2 templates (Template:Frauen-Bundesliga seasons, Template:Frauen-Bundesliga) citing "unused, redundant template" - however, they were in use and have now broken numerous pages (see a list below to start). If you had checked what links here for both, you would've seen they are in use. Please fix:

and numerous other Frauen-Bundesliga team articles.

Mea culpa, Hmlarson. Have restored the templates. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:40, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

Waterford Film Festival

Hi

You deleted this, less than an hour after the page was created. I was still editing the thing. That was pretty fast. I wonder if you wouldn't mind telling me just why a ten year old film festival, produced with the assistance and backing of the local authority and responsible for bringing together film makers from around the world really deserves that sort of treatment? I'd appreciate if you'd undo the delete and let the article grow some content before rushing to eradicate it! Chen Do (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:36, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

There was not a single source on the article at all. May I suggest if you want to build the article to work on this in your draftspace instead, rather than in the mainspace. Articles created directly in the mainspace are supposed to be "ready to go", that is the article has proper sourcing and everything needed to establish notability. Had this been a draft, I wouldn't thought of deleting it. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:45, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

Currency solution page: deleted

Hi Rick!

I received an e-mail that you have deleted my article on Currency Solutions from yesterday, 05/09/2017. I have re-written the article and I'd like to submit it again. On the Article Edit Page is said that I should contact you first for recommendations and instructions. I'm very new in Wikipedia and I have never submitted an article before, so any help will be much appreciated.

Greetings Nadya — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kafcheto (talkcontribs) 10:33, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Nadya, Go ahead and re-submit it through the Draft space like you did before. If it is significantly rewritten, hopefully to fix the issues that caused its deletion previously, then it should be fine. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:41, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

From what I saw the user wasn't the sock of a blocked user (unless I read it wrong, which I've done before). If they weren't a sock, and were blocked after the fact, that's not a violation of G5. If they were a sock, then my mistake. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:16, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

Deletion of Article

Hello Rick,

I noticed that you had very recently deleted an article that I had created titled "Criminal Remedies for Copyright Infringement". Another Wiki Editor had previously moved my page from the main Article namespace to the Draft namespace. Could you let me know of the reason(s) why the article was moved and deleted and what I can do to remedy this situation as soon as possible? Thanks. TheMayFlower17 (talk) 14:50, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

The deletion was a procedural one, as redirects to draft pages are normally deleted. As for the moving of the page, I would speak with the editor, TheDragonFire, who moved the article, as they would be able to explain to you why the article was moved. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:56, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

I went through my deletion log of the past week and couldn't find any drafts starting with Katie, sorry. When was it deleted? RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:51, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Actually you didn't delete it. I don't remember which administrator deleted it. But you can restore it. I requested it to be deleted, as the female mixed martial artist didn't play three professional fight matches to meet notability as per WP:NMMA. When I requested it to be deleted, she had fought in two main fights. If her name is not starting with Katie, then I don't remember. I created the draft. Marvellous Spider-Man 15:04, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Histmerge

Hi, I noticed that you recently deleted David ramon hakwins under R3, which I tagged only seconds before. Could you also merge the page's history from its recreation (after the G11 deletion) to when it was turned into a redirect, to David R Hawkins? Thanks! ToThAc (talk) 18:28, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

I'll try to get to it shortly, will be AFK for a bit, so it won't be immediate. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:30, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Just want to make sure you want this done, it looks like the edits to be merged would pretty much be the same. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:29, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Just merge the edits that aren't as redundant (for instance, the page's recreation under the undesirable title). ToThAc (talk) 23:59, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
The page was deleted per G4 as it was identical to a page deleted in an AfD, so there's not a merge needed now it would appear. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:13, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi, what can I do to restore that page. There might be some inappropriate contents but the entry should not be deleted, since there is a page "David R. Hawkins" in German Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_R._Hawkins.

Hello,

I hope you are good.

I was wondering if the IP range of that user was also blocked, because just few hours after the block, an IP address resumed disruption to this article, in a pattern that is very similar to BlueGreenWhite's edits (Igbo centric edits). I have a feeling the disruptions to the articles are not over, as long as the User's IP address is still allowed to edit Wikipedia. Regards.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 08:50, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

At the time of deletion there was no articles at all to show how the organization is notable. May I recommend if you are developing the page, to work on this as a Draft first? When you publish an article in the main space of Wikipedia, it's expected that the article should have at least the basics, such as reliable sourcing, to be an article. In a draft you have a bit more flexibility to build the page. RickinBaltimore (talk) 15:53, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

More deletions needed

Thank you for deleting Backward class commission. It seems that one admin declined G5 for a bunch of namespaces.[21][22][23] While I realize that CactusWriter maybe correct with his reason to decline the G5, I find it rather bureaucratic that I should nominate these namespaces just to have them finally deleted in 1 week - 2 weeks, when they can be deleted now under G5 as the creator of these isolated namespaces are part of sockfarms. The first one wouldn't qualify since there has been activity form other editors than the sock that created it. The other two, I wouldn't want to overstep a fellow admin, so you might want to propose these for deletion at AfD. RickinBaltimore (talk) 16:18, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) /big nose poked in To be fair (and I'm all for WP:NOTBURO etc), I think this is one of those things where the rule is so black and white (Or green...To qualify, the edit or article must have been made while the user was actually banned or blocked. A page created before the ban or block was imposed or after it was lifted will not qualify under this criterion) specifically to avoid the possibliity of it happening. IAR exists to improve the cylopedia, and I don't think calling people socks before they actually are, does  :) The fact that it is after a block means that it is almost nevre the sockmaster who writes them- but a sock. So in this case, G5 applies when their sock writes an article, not to anythihng they wrote under the main account. IMHO, of course. Ellen Kenna house

Hi, today I was informed that my page was deleted. The house is historic, with dozens of references in the Oakland Tribune and SF chronicle, dating back a hundred years. How may I restore? Thanks! EJBlumberg (talk) 14:03, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi there, the page was deleted as the draft had not been worked on in over 6 months, which is the criteria for speedy deletion. I've restored the page for you, but please be advised you will need to work on the page, or it will be considered for deletion again. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:08, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Deleted page

A page I had worked on was deleted. Is there a way to get back the content? I had added a new source that you would find acceptable (another author had included a chapter on this author in his book.) but it looks as if the new addition saved? I had thought it had been submitted (versus pending, so it appeared inactive?). Thank you in advance for your assistance. Now I'm wondering if I hadn't logged in when I made that edit... Cavenezia (talk) 19:05, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

The last edit made to the page was in September of 2016. This is well over 6 months, and made the page a candidate for speedy deletion per Wikipedia's rules for draft pages (the same doesn't apply for pages within Wikipedia's mainspace). I can restore the page if you wish of course, however please be sure you update the page accordingly, as it could be renominated for deletion if left alone. RickinBaltimore (talk) 19:09, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Please Restore "Luis Ruben Avila"

Hi Rick, can you please restore deleted page "Luis Ruben Avila"? I'd like to at least keep, if not edit/resubmit the content. Thanks. Newstorey (talk) 01:07, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

I've restored the draft for you. Please be sure to work on the page, as it was deleted due to being a declined submission that was nopt edited in over 6 months. RickinBaltimore (talk) 01:12, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Ahmed Mohsen Ashour‎

I'm hoping I could get you to change your mind about this speedy deletion, since the assertion that he meets WP:NFOOTY is incorrect. He has not played for Iraq at the senior level, and per WP:FPL the Iraqi Premier League is not fully professional (or at least verifiably so). This is why the article was deleted in 2014, and that hasn't changed in the interim. It's also why a nearly identical version was WP:G4'd a few days ago at Ahmed Mohsin Ashour. Thanks in advance. Sir Sputnik (talk) 13:59, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

The IPL is not a fully pro league? I honestly thought it was. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:05, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
I went ahead and deleted it after verifying that. Tricky subject as to what is and is not fully pro. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:06, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

MattWorks/sandbox

Why did you delete my sandbox?! I wish I owned Wikipedia. User talk:MattWorks 10:10, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

This wasn't your sandbox, but an article in the main area of Wikipedia. Had this been in your sandbox, it would have been deleted anyway as it violates our policies of not using Wikipedia as a web host. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:13, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

Draft: Study Plan

Hi Rick: I've created this article twice, but had it "rejected" both times, which surprised me as I'm told anyone can create a legitimate article. I'd like to retain credit for initiating this article, but obviously need assistance getting it approved. I feel bad about this article's delay (it is an important subject), and would really, Really, REALLY🙏 appreciate your help getting it approved, or forwarding my request for assistance to another contributor you know who understands how to get it to minimum approval condition and would enjoy doing so. I'll share article creation credit with you or them of course. Kindly advise & thanks -- dpammm Dpammma (talk) 18:33, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

The issue was that the article hasn't been edited in over 6 months, and prior to that, had not been edited since September of 2015. The article did not meet the qualifications of a Wikipedia article, and the request to publish it was rejected. I saw it was restored in October, however no work was done to it. If it was to be restored, it would have to be edited to be improved in order to be published. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:37, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

Dear RickinBaltimore:

I restored this db-g13 refundable page as requested. Within a few seconds, before I could remove the tag, you reverted my restoration. Although the draft is too promotional for mainspace right now and needs independent sources, this is allowed in the WT space as long as the draft is being improved. I'd appreciate it if you would either restore the draft or say why not.—Anne Delong (talk) 20:29, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Anne, It's been restored. Let me know if you need anything else. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:32, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, Rick. If I had been thinking, I would have restored all except the edit with the deletion tag....—Anne Delong (talk) 23:31, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

G13

Are you actually checking to see if there might be worth working on, or even good enough for mainspace as they are? Are you seeing if another reason app;lies also, like G11, which will be helpful to know if they contributor asks for restoration. DGG ( talk ) 22:38, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

From what I have been seeing, these were drafts already rejected for submission, and hadn't been edited since the rejection over 6 months ago. I didn't check to see if G11 applied as well. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:12, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Page was Deleted by Speedy Deletion

Hi Rick, I was notified that the page for OrderPaper (Nigeria) which I tried to set up was deleted by you. I am still new to the Wikipedia family so obviously I must have made some mistakes in it. I am still reading and learning. However, I thought I tried as much as possible to abide by Wikipedia rules by giving appropriate references and being fair. Deleted pages

Hi, today you deleted the page ASV Dronten. Two more pages VV Eemdijk and NSC Nijkerk are marked for speedy deletion. A fourth page SDV Barneveld was marked for speedy deletion as well, but is back in "normal" state. There is a reference to these pages on 2016–17 Hoofdklasse. They were tagged by User:Jone Rohne Nester.
I like to know why? It seems these teams are not notable enough to have a team page. But if a team has to be a professional team, so Eredivisie or Eerste Divisie to be notable, I wonder why out of the non professional 18 Tweede Divisie teams, 2 times 18 Derde Divisie teams and 4 times 16 Hoofdklasse teams, making a total of 118 teams the big majority of them is allowed to have a team page?
I tried to fill a gap by providing a basic team page to the teams without a team page. Why are specifically these 4 teams not allowed to have a team page where most of the other teams are? We prefer an inconsistent situation of most teams having and some teams not having a team page? If these 4 teams are not allowed to have a team page shouldn't the team page of all 118 teams be deleted? Who is going to replace the links for these teams on the league pages into strings? Or even better, if the teams are not notable enough, why would the leagues be and shouldn't the league pages be completely deleted as well?
What ever the answer is, I feel it should be consequent and consistent. So either allow all or delete all.
--Sb008 (talk) 23:35, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

I deleted the one article in question as is does not appear to meet our guidelines for notability, namely WP:GNG. We have a more specific one, WP:NSPORTS related to sports entities. I see this a 2nd division amateur team, which does not qualify for notability in itself, as that is dedicated to fully professional leagues (see WP:NFOOTY). If you feel that this article I deleted is in need of revision, please request this at WP:DELREV, and it can be examined there. The other articles may fall under this same area, however I will let other admins decide this instead. RickinBaltimore (talk) 01:20, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Richard Bellon

This is outside of my general knowledge area -- hell, my attempts at speaking French words have made actual French people cringe -- but this looks (on the surface and after some quick Googling) to be (in the words of the late Tom Magliozzi) BOOOOOOGUS. Any opinions? --Calton | Talk 10:26, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

Eh bien, Calton, mon français n'est pas douloureux ;) :p so I looked into it (Talk:Richard Bellon#CSD reasoning) and think you're right. But 'there's some strange shit going on here Coleman' as the fella says; look at the history of the French article; for a start it's twelve years old, also, see the early history- looks like it went through two other names before they settled on Richard (Robert, and possibly Roger, seem also to have been in the mix!). Trés curieux, n'est-ce pas? sorry, just showing off  ;) don't often get a chance! It's odd though. I mean he clearly doesn't seem to exist; yet you would have thought that fr.wp would also have noticed a hoax or a wrong name by now? — O Fortuna semper crescis, aut decrescis 09:37, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, that there's a 12-year-old article on the French Wikipedia is a good part of the reason I hesitated. --Calton | Talk 10:10, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
Darn these long weekends. I DID find a book here [25], however the claims of being the "most translated poem ever" seem to be a bit dubious, as I can't find evidence to back that up. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:19, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Deleted page (G11)

Hi RickinBaltimore!

I wrote an article about Magnus Penker and it was deleted because of G11. I'm going to try to rewrite the article so it meets up with wikipedia policies. Should I create a draft, and then maybe you or someone else can help me with inputs/look at it? Thanks in advance!

I have now rewritten the article and made a draft in "draft space". Is it okey for you if I submit the article for review? Regards, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Strongline123 (talkcontribs) 08:10, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Strongline123 (talk) 08:53, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

It's always a good thing to submit an article for review, if you feel it's ready to be reviewed. The reviewers can let you know what would need to be corrected, if it does so, and point you into how to correct the article. RickinBaltimore (talk) 13:21, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your answer! I have now published it for review. If you have time, you can check it out :) Regards,

Deletion of North 40 Outfitters

Hey Rick-- Was notified that you erased a page I was working on, "North 40 Outfitters," and informed I must speak with you first before recreating the original page. We are a retailer in the Northwest with 10 store locations and on online presence. In the comment from wiki, it says "G11- Unsolicited Advertising"-- I had based my outline off of this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tractor_Supply_Company [Tractor Supply Company - wiki page] who is a similar establishment in our retail space. The formatting was off, and I had a request in to update that; after reading previous comments on your page, I think I should have been working in the 'draft space" before publishing. Aside from that, can you tell me what information was advertising in my previous post and/or allow me to recreate the page in draft along with proper formatting?

After that, I will submit the article for review, if that works for you?

CutterM.

There's a couple areas of concern I have with the page. One, the page was definitely promotional, as the only sources were the company's website, and no other independent reliable sources to show how the company was notable. Secondly, the comment above shows that you have a direct conflict of interest with the company ("We are a retailer...") While this doesn't preclude you from creating the article, please bear in mind this needs to be created as neutral as possible. You're welcome to work on the draft, but be sure you have independent sources to show how the company is notable. RickinBaltimore (talk) 17:57, 30 May 2017 (UTC)

Question

You told me to post a discussion on your talk page if I had a question so: can I add the fact that I'm female, that I'm from Germany, Italy ect., or that I can speak Italian, and Spanish etc.? Dinah Kirkland (talk) 18:13, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Oh that's fine, a simple short bio isn't bad at all, those details actually can be useful, especially if someone is looking to translate an article or a source. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:24, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Thank you that is helpful! And i loved the trout thing on your page. Dinah Kirkland (talk) 18:30, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Another Question

I added UserBoxes to my user page and someone told me they were alright but I added a smidge more information. Nothing to put me in danger of course but could you look at it and tell me if its to much? If it is I will remove it. Dinah Kirkland (talk) 18:01, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Nope that's just fine! Shows your interests and such (sort of like the list I have on mine). I'd just be cautious to give your age, location, anything particularly identifying that sort of thing. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:04, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Eian Beron

Hello. I'm curious: how does the latest Eian Beron differ from the deleted version? From memory only, they look exactly the same. I could be wrong though. Thanks, Uncle Roy (talk) 20:30, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

I checked the deleted version prior to removing the tag and it appears that new article does have a few more sources than the original, it didn't appear to be a straight 100% copy. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:45, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
OK, thanks. Uncle Roy (talk) 21:28, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
Hi I am TheDeviantPro, I have re added the request for speedy deletion, even though the article have a few more sources it's still have the same problem as the previous article. The article still fails WP:GNG as there is still no in-dept coverage on Beron. TheDeviantPro (talk) 04:43, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Hürrem Sultan

Hi. On June 1, 2017, you deleted the page "Hürrem Sultan" and you provided the following reason for your action: "G8: Redirect to a deleted or non-existent page", which is totally untrue as the page was a redirect to an existing page titled Roxelana and Hürrem Sultan is the second-most common name for this historical figure. Are you able to recreate it as a redirect? By the way, it should be recreated because as long as I've checked dozens of articles related to this topic are now linked to an empty page while they should have been redirected to Roxelana. Keivan.fTalk 01:45, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

I just recreated the page as a redirect to Roxalana. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:38, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Eian Beron

Hi Rick - I've deleted Eian Beron as a WP:G5. But I'm curious - what did you see that was substantially different from the AFD'd version? --NeilN talk to me 14:19, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

It appeared to have added a couple sources from before, however the notability was very weak even still. To be honest, I thought about deleting as an A7 for that reason, but felt the extra source or two might have pushed it past that. RickinBaltimore (talk) 14:21, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

I need to know

I have thought about creating a page on Dinah Liddell (the cat from Alice In Wonderland) and I'm trying to get multiple opinions. If I gave you some of the information i dug up could you look over it and tell me if I should create the page or not? Dinah Kirkland (talk) 20:27, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

I'm not sure if an article strictly on Alice's cat will be substantial enough to warrant a page. We do have information about Dinah on List of minor characters in the Alice series, and you might want to expand that somewhat, but I'm not sure if Dinah is notable enough to warrant a separate page. (And to be honest when I saw a cat I immediately thought of The Cheshire Cat and not Alice's cat). RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:30, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

(Everyone thinks of Cheshire first ^-^) Alright. I found a page on her in my research and it was on another wiki called Fandom Wiki but I did see the list of minor characters but I wanted to see if I could make one just for her full of the information that's on her. Dinah Kirkland (talk) 20:35, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Just as a heads up another Wiki, such as Fandom Wiki, isn't considered a reliable source, as those are user edited and created. Now if that Wiki linked to a source, like a literary journal or such, I'd use THAT source, but not another Wiki. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:36, 2 June 2017 (UTC)

Oh I didn't get the information from another wiki! I just found a page on it. I got my info from the movies, video games and book. Dinah Kirkland (talk) 20:38, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
