Reversion edit

Apologies for reverting your addition of "nonfiction" to The Real Anthony Fauci. I had misread that as part of another editor's misinformation to information change. Rjjiii (ii) (talk) 00:29, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Missile strike on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters edit

On 14 November 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Missile strike on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that shortly after a missile strike on the Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters, Oleksiy Danilov said that the fleet could be "sliced up like a salami" at a later date? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2023 missile strike on the Sevastopol Naval Base. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Missile strike on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Niña move edit

Have you considered WP:PRIMARYTOPIC? Generally, when replacing a primary article with a disambiguation page, you should discuss this on the primary's talk page, first. That would involve discussing whether any article in the disambiguation alternatives even approaches the use count of the primary, and whether there was any potential for confusion. Tarl N. (discuss) 08:07, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to revert my change if you think it might have caused confusion. Professor Penguino (talk) 10:36, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I didn't take action, it appears several other people took exception and it was undone. The reason I suggest page moves be done very cautiously, and only after discussion, is because they cannot be easily reverted. Only admins are capable of undoing this kind of move. You can move to an unoccupied page, but in doing so you leave behind a redirect, which cannot be overriden without advanced permissions. As it happens, I saw discussion that one problem caused by your move was the it created 70-odd disambiguation links (links within other pages which suddenly ended up pointing to a disambiguation page rather than the desired target). These links would have all had to be fixed. Regards, Tarl N. (discuss) 05:51, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yikes. I definitely will have to read up more on page moves, and how to prevent that from happening again... it's good that someone reverted it and cleaned up the mess I made. Sorry for any trouble I caused.
Sincerely, Professor Penguino (talk) 05:55, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
