Template:2019–20 coronavirus pandemic data

Hi Pablothepenguin: Please, do not update figures if they do not match cited sources. Latest official figure for COVID-19 confirmed cases in the United Kingdom is 73,758: 256,605 people have been tested, of whom 73,758 tested positive. ([2]) --MarioGom (talk) 23:13, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

MarioGom: That’s not what it said on the news. I know for a fact that you are wrong. Pablothepenguin (talk) 23:16, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Pablothepenguin: Please, keep in mind that this is a rapidly changing situation. Numbers reported live on news are often outdated by the time they are on air. You can check the source, which is the Government of UK: [3]. As far as I know, the sudden increase is caused by mass testing of social care workers ([4]). In any case, if you are really sure that the official government count is wrong, you can bring this topic at Template talk:2019–20 coronavirus pandemic data and explain why you think it is wrong. Saying "they said it on the news" is not a valid reason though. Cited reliable sources prevail. --MarioGom (talk) 23:22, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
MarioGom: The news broadcast I watched was at 17:30, I think it was right, you know. Now, why don’t you use some common sense. Everyone would have been home at 17:30, especially on a bank holiday. Pablothepenguin (talk) 23:31, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

UK Gov't data

Hi Pablo, which UK Gov source did you use for the UK data correction? I used this one for the initial figures [5], but I've put a note on the Talk page about the data generally, which in part refers to today's data. Could you have a look and maybe let me know what you think. Thanks, Arcturus (talk) 20:21, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

I used that very source myself. Pablothepenguin (talk) 20:24, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
As I look now, that gives 269,127 as the number of confirmed cases, not 267,078 as you've changed it to. It gave the same figure last night when I made the update. Though admittedly it looks like the figure for 2020-05-27 should be 267,240 rather than 267,250. — Smjg (talk) 14:14, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
Pablo, can you please illustrate from where you are getting the data. Maybe you're adding the daily figure to the last cumulative figure. If so, and because of the way the figures are reported (which is far from satisfactory), the cumulative figure we give here will get further from that on .GOV website by the day. Arcturus (talk) 20:47, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
I am adding the daily figure on to the cumulative number. I also double check the figure I’ve just added, so that it is the same as the figure in the column graph further down the page. Pablothepenguin (talk) 21:31, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
You can't do this. gov.uk is the nearest thing we have to an official source for the correct figures. If yesterday's figure plus the daily figure doesn't equal the new cumulative figure, it means that corrections have been made to the data, not that the cumulative figure on gov.uk is wrong. — Smjg (talk) 22:28, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

Edit

Hey, I am letting you know that this edit changes the definitions to match the definitions provided by the federal government of the United States here. It is not intended to be vandalism at all. 108.46.149.126 (talk) 19:55, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

Final Warning

I am warning you to stop your repeated vandalism on Wikipedia. Your argument is not valid and you still repeatedly insist on making your disruptive edits. I suggest for you to take a good look in the mirror first to see what a nuisance you have been. WinniethePooh136 (talk) 02:29, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Stall

Alright, Otto has been reported for his sockpuppeting. With luck, and the tsunami of evidence I gave, he gets banned, and we can resume adding more accurate polls that fit Wikipedia's standards. We need to keep him talking, but make sure his false poll stays off the page. We can't just create a new page, so dont tempt him with that idea.
