Hi. Please note that campaign promises need to be added under 'Campaigns' section and not under election issues. Remove these from Issues section and re-add the necessary and non-redundant portion under Campaign section in 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election. In an article about an event, things are reported in the same order in which they happened. Why then are you adding Rahul Gandhi's comment in the middle of the para and not at the end? Venkat TL (talk) 10:41, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

Please do not add WP:TOI or any Times sites. They are not considered reliable source on Wikipedia. Venkat TL (talk) 14:00, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

TOI isnt completely unreliable, most things they say other than their opinion posts are usually factually correct. Ok123l (talk) 16:49, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
@Ok123l Look we follow the community guidelines on what is reliable and what is not. It is not based on your personal opinion. You are free to read whatever newspaper you like to read. But if you want to add newssite as source you will need to follow the community guidelines. Wikipedia community has decided that Times News Network (TOI etc) is not reliable. Especially not for politics. Please replace TOI and times sites with more reliable sources, like NYT, BBC, NDTV, TheHindu Indian Express etc. Venkat TL (talk) 17:28, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

If the content you had added is reverted for sourcing issues, You cannot simply revert it back. You should copy that content you had added from page history. Paste it on your User:Ok123l/sandbox and then add references. Check if the old content you had added is supported by the new source you found. Only when this process is complete and everything is reliably sourced by the new reference you had added. (Make sure of this), only after that copy that content from your sandbox to the article.
Also you dont need to copy entire reference every time you want to use it. Only copying a reference name with / is enough. See at existing reference to understand how it is done. Venkat TL (talk) 10:21, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Venkat TL. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, 2022 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Venkat TL (talk) 10:28, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

Okay, but I've read the NDTV Terms and Conditions, and in "Licenses" it states that "NDTV grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license, revocable at any time at NDTV’s sole discretion, to access and use the Service strictly in accordance with the Terms. Use of the Service does not grant you any intellectual property rights in or to any information or content in the Service. As part of the Service, NDTV may provide you with content developed by NDTV or its licensors (“Content”). NDTV grants you a non-exclusive and perpetual license to use Content for the purpose it is intended, unless otherwise defined in the applicable Terms or the purchase order. You are bound by any restrictions applicable to specific Content you obtain through the Service. Any license acquired to third-party Content is a binding agreement between you and the third-party Content provider. You have only the rights to the Content which are expressly granted here." I read these terms before deciding to copy paste this, so I don't think I broke any copyright rules. Ok123l (talk) 03:46, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
I'd appreciate if you took back your warning as I have not broke any copyright rules as shown above. Ok123l (talk) 07:13, 10 September 2022 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content, as you did at 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. The cited article does not say it was a Congress protest, nor does it say that "Many congress leaders involved". The article does not say that money was spent in Gujarat. Hi, Have you read WP:ONUS. Please read and follow. Venkat TL (talk) 13:01, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

Hey, WP:ONUS does not disqualify this because it says only important things should be in articles, and a president or vice president of a party leaving to join another would probably have big changes to the election results and the political spectrum & arena, thus it is important to note. Thanks. Ok123l (talk) 14:50, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
That is your opinion, I do not agree with this. They will not. Please do not edit war. See WP:DISPUTE and follow. Venkat TL (talk) 15:11, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
May I ask who is "they"? I don't think it should be disqualified and I have given reason as well, please give me a good reason to agree with you. Ok123l (talk) 16:38, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

Hi, India votes and elections.in are not considered reliable source. Election.in has been found to give wrong data be me. you can read more about election.in on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Indian politics page.

Please add the link to Election commission website https://eci.gov.in/files/category/74-himachal-pradesh/ as reference and use it for most accurate info. Please dont use those mirror sites. WP:MIRROR. Venkat TL (talk) 17:17, 6 October 2022 (UTC)

Hey, ECI website never works for me when I try to open it, it seems to always be down when i check it with isitdownrightnow or any other similar website, I do not know why. Also I do not take anything else other than number of votes from IndiaVotes, I find all the vote swing using online calculators, so there shouldn't be too much inaccuracy in it. Ok123l (talk) 17:38, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
it is accessible from India. it is opening right now for me. Venkat TL (talk) 18:08, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
well, it isn't where I am right now. Ok123l (talk) 18:22, 6 October 2022 (UTC)
Probably some Internet Service Provider issue with the ISP you use, may be the eci.gov.in is thinking that your ISP is not in India and it is blocking service. I remember @DaxServer also complained about not being able to access these PDFs of election related data. DaxServer did you find any solution to access these files ? example link https://eci.gov.in/files/file/3812-himachal-pradesh-2012/ Venkat TL (talk) 19:43, 7 October 2022 (UTC)
@Venkat TL I'm not in India currently, abroad right now. Ok123l (talk) 08:19, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
I remember that one Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Indian politics/Archive 4#Reliability of www.elections.in - However, I haven't found any solution to that except asking someone in India to download and share the pdfs privately. One solution could be uploading the PDFs to https://archive.org/details/books with appropriate titles perhaps a collection as well [by someone in India]. I can't access them thru VPN as my provider has removed Indian servers due the recent VPN rules by Govt. After the discussion of that thread in INPOL, I've moved on to other topics and had never come back to this one so far — DaxServer (t · m · c) 14:41, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

I collapsed a post at Talk:2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly election that was incivil and offtopic, and was likely to derail the discussion. Your reply to the post was also collapsed since it wouldn't have made sense in isolation but my action was not meant as a comment on your post per se. Cheers. Hi, Are you familiar with the WP:BRD process. If you add something and it gets removed by another user, you should not add it until a consensus is achieved according to the WP:DISPUTERESOLUTION methods.

Right now both articles are protected and have been reverted to a version that is not mine and is a version before the recent edit warring disputes. I need your support and cooperation to prevent any further edit warring on the election pages. Or else the admins will protect the page and it cannot be updated anymore. If WP:BRD is violated and a second revert is made, those should be reported. I have said more on Talk:2022_Himachal_Pradesh_Legislative_Assembly_election#Status_Quo_version_of_5_October_restored and Talk:2022_Gujarat_Legislative_Assembly_election#Status_Quo_version_of_11_October_restored. This will improve the chances of protection request being accepted. Dhruv edits (talk) 15:15, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

@Dhruv edits the IP got blocked for 1 month. Ok123l (talk) 04:21, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
@Ok123l Citation for BRS + Left Front alliance was already given.[1] I added it and it was confirmed by Dhruv edits also. XYZ 250706 (talk) 10:10, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

User:XYZ 250706 it says will form an alliance, meaning the alliance has not been formed yet. Shouldn't be added until officially formed. Ok123l (talk) 10:21, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

@Ok123l Other editors are also thinking to keep BRS + Left Front alliance.According to Deccan Chronicle, TRS (now BRS) district president Tatha Madhusudan said, “CPI expressed its stand clearly about a poll pact with the ruling party. The CPI-M too accepted it and extended its support in Munugode first. The BJP is our main enemy. The CPIM will definitely sail with the ruling party in the 2023 elections.” XYZ 250706 (talk) 10:22, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
@Ok123l TMC although being National party as per ECI, it is a regional party in reality. TMC has no alliance in Lok Sabha. There was an alliance named federal front, but it does not exist now. In 2019, TMC's national party status could be revoked by ECI 3 years after it got the national party status.(national party: EXPLAINED: Why national status of TMC, NCP and CPI could be revoked | India News (timesnownews.com)) On the other hand, CPIM and CPI are national party since their formation. It is true that national party status of CPI was also going to revoked but now CPI's importance is much more. Now CPI is state party in 3 states (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Manipur) and TMC is state party in 2 states (WB, Meghalaya : Although it is state party in Meghalaya not by election, 12 congress MLAs joined TMC, I do not know surely about TMC as state party in Meghalaya). CPIM is national party. So Left Front is much important with respect to the presence in states (CPIM - 9 states(MLAs) and Jammu & Kashmir (District Council Members), CPI - 3 states (MLAs), 8.3% votes in Manipur Lok sabha election 2019; TMC - 3 states). XYZ 250706 (talk) 10:27, 19 November 2022 (UTC)

Still, TMC has more votes and seats, and as of now it is a National Party, even BSP, SP, JDU etc have more seats than Left Front. Take this discussion to the concerned page, so there will be opinions from other editors too. Ok123l (talk) 13:27, 19 November 2022 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Timeline of Bharat Jodo Yatra, you may be blocked from editing. I feel that it's notable enough - besides, more articles on Wikipedia can't be a bad thing. It's properly cited, contains all necessary information, and is well organised. @Ok123l You have given wrong serial no.1 in CPIM. As per your arrangements, CPIM should be given serial no. 3 but you have given 1. Another thing, you can give serial no.1 to CPIM and serial no. 2 to BTP if you consider national importance of these parties. Otherwise if you consider importance in Gujarat then you can give serial no.1 to BTP and serial no.2 to CPIM. As AIMIM has not declared any candidate till now, you should either give it serial no. 3 or remove it from the table (deadline of announcing candidate is over). An article you recently created, 2020 Telangana local elections, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.   Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — DaxServer (t · m · c) 15:27, 29 December 2022 (UTC)

Okay, thank you for the information. I did not know about this, and I will use this feature to move pages from now on. Ok123l (talk) 08:56, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

Although CPIM had 337 panchayat seats, 12 zila parishad (ZP) members, 25 panchayat samiti members, 28 panchayat pradhans, 30 vice-pradhans and 242 ward members, CPIM candidate list was not added because CPIM is not a major force in Legislative Assembly election and got only 1.47% vote last election. I think we can now add mahajot as an alliance as (https://indianexpress.com/article/political-pulse/tripura-polls-cpm-cong-set-to-enter-pact-on-seat-sharing-8369324/). XYZ 250706 (talk) 02:51, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

My bad, but how is a potential alliance in Tripura between Congress and CPIM linked to the Himachal election?
I would prefer not adding the alliance right now in 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly election, since an alliance has not been finalized. TIPRA is also in talks with Congress so it might be a three-member alliance. Until anything is finalized nothing should be added. Ok123l (talk) 03:43, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
I am trying to say that CPIM although having good presence in local body elections and 1 MLA, its candidate list was not added because it got 1.47% votes last election and contested only in 11 seats (but to become opposition party there is need to win 7 seats in HP). So UPA and TIPRA candidates should not be added. Ok, keep the list intact till the coming of Mahajot news. XYZ 250706 (talk) 05:48, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
It was mainly due to CPIM not contesting even 20% seats. AAP candidates were added in Gujarat when they did got less than NOTA in last election. Ok123l (talk) 05:57, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

In Next Indian general election, User Sharad SHRD is adding regional alliances. I remember Dhruv edits said me that it is lok sabha election so we should add them (when I add except kerala in RJD and NCP in UPA). Besides, he add Samajwadi party under non-aligned parties of national level alliances (SP has alliance in UP as SP+) where CPIM and CPI are not in national level section. The delegates of CPIM 23rd party congress gave final seal on line of left, democratic and secular alliance (https://www.sangbadpratidin.in/india/kerala-cpm-lobbying-for-making-front-against-bjp-with-congress-in-party-congress/). Yesterday Sitaram Yechury told that CPIM will form Left Democratic Front as third alternative nationally and giving people an alternative. (https://www.facebook.com/cpimtripuraofficialpage/videos/896604955098163) Besides this link (https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/kochi/cpm-general-secretary-sitaram-yechury-calls-out-congress-on-secularism-decide-your-stand/articleshow/90697351.cms) also provides citation that final draft CPIM political resolution gives thrust on empowering the Left parties front as the third alternative. So can you please restore the last good version edited by me (that consisted all correct information) in that page? Please do not shift this page to the talk page of the article. XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:07, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

Left Democratic Front is a state-level alliance based in Kerala only (Left Front is based in Tripura and West Bengal). There is no official source to mention "Left Front" as a national-level alliance. BRS, CPI and CPI(M) may contest together in the 2024 election, but it's not mentioned anywhere as "Left Front".
We can't call an alliance as "Left Front" just because CPI and CPI(M) are part of that alliance. For example, DMK leader M. K. Stalin confirmed SPA [which includes INC, CPI and CPI(M)] will contest 2024 elections in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.[1]
Tejaswi Yadav confirmed Mahagathbandhan alliance to contest in the 2024 election.[2]
NCP leader Sharad Pawar urged for the need to formalise a plan for Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance to contest the polls under one umbrella in Maharashtra.[3] I've added regional alliances based on reliable sources. Only the parties which have representation in Lok Sabha (or had representation after 2019 elections) are added under the list of alliances.SharadSHRD7 (talk) 14:05, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
Besides User Sharad SHRD is also adding TMC to infobox even TMC has no significant presence except in WB and Meghalaya. XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:08, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
India has a multi-party system, having 8 recognised national parties. I added TMC because it's the third largest national party in the current Lok Sabha. Adding only BJP and INC in the Infobox seems against WP:NPOV. There is already a discussion going on about this topic on the article's talk page. One user commented about switching to Template:Infobox legislative election. It'll give fair representation to all political parties and also prevent edit war. SharadSHRD7 (talk) 14:22, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
The parties of NDA, UPA and LDF were added according to next Indian general elections in various states articles in Wikipedia. XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:10, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
@XYZ 250706 If LDF is being formed nationally, it needs a secondary source. according to Wikipedia policies, even if you are 100% sure something is true, you can't add it without a secondary reliable source. SP hasn't confirmed any Lok Sabha alliance with its Legislative assembly allies as of now. However; SPA, MVA, and MGB are nationally part of UPA and hence should be in it. Ok123l (talk) 16:57, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
SPA (led by DMK) is not part of UPA (led by INC) in national level (SPA is a separate, regional-level alliance). CPI(M) and CPI contests against INC in Kerala under LDF but allied with INC in Tamil Nadu under SPA. So, we can't add CPI(M) and CPI under UPA. Currently, CPI(M) have 1 MP from Kerala (won under LDF alliance) and 2 MPs from Tamil Nadu (won under SPA alliance). That's why we have to mention regional alliances separately to avoid confusion and misinterpretation. SharadSHRD7 (talk) 01:03, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
@SharadSHRD7 I am including all the data such that a middle thing of all editor's thoughts are fulfilled. XYZ 250706 (talk) 07:12, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
@Dhruv edits: and @Ok123l: both users have already adviced in the discussion page not to add Left Democratic Front because it's WP: SPECULATIVE and there is no official source to mention it as "national-level alliance". LDF is based in Kerala. But @XYZ 250706: you keeps adding it and engaging in a edit war. Kindly stop it and listen to the opinion of neutral editors to reach WP:CONSENSUS. SharadSHRD7 (talk) 08:19, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
@SharadSHRD7 I added it with some citations (https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/united-front-of-secular-forces-will-win-2024-elections-sitaram-yechury/articleshow/90828532.cms). Ok I am not adding now. XYZ 250706 (talk) 08:47, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
It's still not a valid source because there is no mention about which parties will be in the Left Democratic Front in the source you've mentioned. It's merely a proposed alliance, not official yet. SharadSHRD7 (talk) 08:51, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
In that link, it is mentioned that CPIM will strive to unite the Left and democratic forces and form a joint front. https://www.sangbadpratidin.in/india/kerala-cpm-lobbying-for-making-front-against-bjp-with-congress-in-party-congress/ this link says that (translated by google) The delegates of 23rd party congress gave final seal on the line of left, democratic secular alliance. In this link (https://www.facebook.com/cpimtripuraofficialpage/videos/896604955098163) at about 7:30, sitaram yechury mentioned about LDF. This link (https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/kochi/cpm-general-secretary-sitaram-yechury-calls-out-congress-on-secularism-decide-your-stand/articleshow/90697351.cms) says that The final draft of the party's political resolution gives thrust on empowering the Left parties as the third alternative. XYZ 250706 (talk) 08:59, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
No political parties mentioned in this source. It's only mentioned as "Left and democratic forces". There is no mention about BRS and JD(S). SharadSHRD7 (talk) 09:03, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
(The party has decided to join the alliance to fight against the central government.) XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:07, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
I know the parties of LDF are added according to next Indian general elections in various pages. Most of the pages were created by Chennai Super Kings lover XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:13, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/kerala/yechury-asks-congress-others-with-secular-claim-to-set-house-in-order/article65295896.ece this link says there should be common minimum programme of left democratic forces. XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:06, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
I added JD(S) as it is part of LDF Kerala, LDF Maharashtra (https://www.dnaindia.com/mumbai/report-maharashtra-left-parties-mull-alliance-with-congress-ncp-2790579), Loktantrik Morcha Rajasthan (led by CPIM) and LDF Manipur (now MPSA led by INC). So it is part of Left party front in most of the states where it is active. XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:11, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Please stop assuming every alliance as Left Democratic Front in which CPI and CPI(M) are part of. The alliance between BRS and Left parties is mentioned as "Bharat Rashtra Samithi+" in the 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly election. The first source you mentioned doesn't mention any "Left Front". Second source reads Yechury "asks", so it's just a proposal, not official. Third source reads just "offer" which was rejected eventually by SP and CPM [1]. Kindly stop arguing about this topic. SharadSHRD7 (talk) 09:15, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
The link you gave was in 2019. I did not say to add SP. The plan of roping SP in LDF was made in 2022 April. XYZ 250706 (talk) 09:06, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
@XYZ 250706:: It's just a plan, not official yet. It tends to be WP: SPECULATIVE. Samjawadi leader Akhilesh Yadav said "A continuous exercise is underway to form an alternative for 2024. Nitishji, Mamataji and KCR sahab are working for it. An alternative is needed with inflation at its peak".[2] He didn't mention any communist parties/left front in his statement. As of now, Samajwadi Party is a non-aligned party. If you want to discuss about this topic, please post your comments in the discussion page of specific article to pave way for more users to view and give opinions. SharadSHRD7 (talk) 15:21, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
I said it is plan only , so I said SP and DMK should be added to non-aligned parties now and they will be added to LDF if confirmed news comes. I think we should add the parties and alliances in the format of 2019 Indian general election. XYZ 250706 (talk) 16:17, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
@XYZ 250706:: DMK leader M. K. Stalin confirmed SPA going to contest in 2024 general election.[4] SharadSHRD7 (talk) 01:14, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
Can you say me what is secondary source. XYZ 250706 (talk) 07:10, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Democratic Secular Alliance (Tripura) and 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly election. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. @Ok123l CPIM leaders including Sitaram Yechury opposed the term alliance (https://www.facebook.com/cpimtripuraofficialpage/videos/492999523014130/). SDF is not an alliance, it is the oppostion parties which are against BJP government.http://www.uniindia.com/news/east/cpi-m-announces-seat-sharing-with-congress--motha-in-tripura-polls/2895230.html. @Ok123l National parties in India have some extra advantage over other parties. They can user their particular symbol all over India and the government provides land or a building for the National parties to erect their party headquarters. I think national parties in India can be regarded as major parties for Lok Sabha election. Besides if you look at the national parties, all parties (Except NPP) have national significance. Shouldn't we add them in the infobox for 2024 Lok Sabha election? XYZ 250706 (talk) 05:54, 11 April 2023 (UTC)

There is no major third front. As of now all of these parties barring BJP and Congress are confined to 1-2 small states. AAP is most likely not winning any Lok Sabha seat out of Delhi and Punjab as of now. NPP is only present in northeast. BSP is not winning any seat outside UP. Even CPI(M) is mostly confined to Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Ok123l (talk) 11:33, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Please stop adding SKP as Congress win. They are a different party that were also supported by parties other than Congress. A note has already been added in parties section. They might gove support to Congress in govt formation but they will remain separate here. Dhruv edits (talk) 10:31, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 2014 Andhra Pradesh rural local bodies elections a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). Thank you.
