May 2023 edit

  Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted. The source in the note clearly states RPI, not RPI(K). Also the final list of candidates released by CEO Karnataka has RPI candidate contesting from CV Raman nagar, not RPI(K). Stop adding original research continuously.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Dhruv edits (talk) 11:16, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) edit

Hello XYZ 250706,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.

If you don't want Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

"In the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections, Congress registered an impressive victory, securing a total of 100 seats out of the total 200, comfortably touching the halfway mark. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), under then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, was only able to secure 73 seats. Smaller parties and independent candidates together managed to secure 27 seats."

August 2023 edit

Hi @XYZ 250706. Hope this finds you well. I have reverted done of your changes at Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance. Those edits didn't seem constructive.

  • Abbreviation- Please se the disscussion at Talk:Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance#Abbreviation. We only got votes in favour of I.N.D.I.A. And the Abbreviation in the article was clearly mentioned with a notice in this form - <!--Donot change the Abbreviation this is what was agreed at the talk page discussion-->I.N.D.I.A.<!--Donot change the Abbreviation this is what was agreed at the talk page discussion-->. I just hope that you know Wikipedia's policy on consensus.
  • Patna meeting reference removal - Please tell me what made you to remove reference from Patna meeting section and add citation need tag. Shaan SenguptaTalk 18:55, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Shaan Sengupta Oh sorry for removing the source in Patna section. That was done by mistake. But the alliance is only for Lok sabha, not for vidhan sabha or rajya sabha or mlc. So state seats or rajya seats should not be added. Predecessor of I.N.D.I.A. is UPA not UO. There is no citation for merger of Left Front. XYZ 250706 (talk) 04:42, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Shaan Sengupta The state elections were no contested on banner of I.N.D.I.A.. XYZ 250706 (talk) 04:45, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
There have been no state elections yet since the formation of this alliance. Shaan SenguptaTalk 04:46, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Wider audience doesn't match your thoughts. It was never officialy announced as till when this alliance will continue. All the Left front parties are part of this alliance. So it's a common sense. UO is added as predecessor because it was UO first when all the opposition parties came under one banner. Shaan SenguptaTalk 04:45, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
See [1] XYZ 250706 (talk) 04:46, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
This isn't a well established source. Anyways all those information are based on theories and common sense. Shaan SenguptaTalk 04:48, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Can you please explain what made you to change the Abbreviation from I.N.D.I.A. to just INDIA? Shaan SenguptaTalk 04:47, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Shaan Sengupta I am sorry for that. First of all, I actually did not knew about discussion. Besides I did not thought about the other changes to be made. XYZ 250706 (talk) 04:49, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
That is the reason the notice was put there which clearly indicated the discussion. Anyways be careful in future. Cheers Shaan SenguptaTalk 04:50, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
According to CPIM website, Left Front still exists. As it says To make efforts to hold a convention of Left parties at the earliest and give a call for all-India campaign on a mutually agreed charter of demands.[2] XYZ 250706 (talk) 04:51, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Shaan Sengupta Besides, Left leaders have not announced the merger of Left Front. They are part of the alliance. That does not mean Left Front is merged. If you search upa renamed as india many sources will show that. XYZ 250706 (talk) 04:53, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Please see Left front article. It is not marked as dissolved as UPA. Shaan SenguptaTalk 08:53, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Shaan Sengupta That is the thing I am telling. So why many editors have added in INDIA article that INDIA is formed by merger of UPA and LF? XYZ 250706 (talk) 11:38, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
I.N.D.I.A. is a merger of now defunct UPA & existing LF. This is the best explanation that anyone can give you. Left is merged just like many other parties merged at one time into Janata Party. They to merged with their parties but later parted ways. Same is the thing here. The it is merged not succeeded. Hopw you understand the difference between merger and succeed. It has merged (temporarily) not succeeded (permanently). Shaan SenguptaTalk 12:42, 24 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

XYZ 250706 HAM is a state party in Bihar. RLD is a state party in UP. Para 10B of ECI States that two parties can be alloted same symbol. Please see ECI website. [3]. Sharad Pawar is not anyone. He is the party president. He clearly said that there is no split. Ajit Pawar also said same thing. It's just that some members of a party have joined the govt while some are in opposition. If none has left party then its evident that they will continue using same symbol. Shaan SenguptaTalk 11:05, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Just to let you know JMM & ShivSena both have same Bow Arrow as symbol. Shaan SenguptaTalk 11:13, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Shaan Sengupta For your information, HAM is not a state party in Bihar. XYZ 250706 (talk) 11:32, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Your words regarding NCP do not make sense even if Sharad Pawar has said so. So why a separate page for NCP(AP) is formed? XYZ 250706 (talk) 11:34, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
NCP (AP) clearly stated that it is a political faction. Not a political party. And if you see it also carries same symbol amd flag and had Sharad Pawar name in president. Shaan SenguptaTalk 12:00, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi let it be like won lost & contested only. If a situation arises where some seats are contested in and out then we can update it like that. But we can't decide on that now. Shaan SenguptaTalk 06:12, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Shaan Sengupta So removed the part inside and outside alliance. That's all. XYZ 250706 (talk) 06:16, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Shaan Sengupta State/UTs column should obviously before contesting seats. For example State - Bihar, Contesting Seats - 4, then total for all states - 45. XYZ 250706 (talk) 06:18, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yeah we can do that. Shaan SenguptaTalk 06:21, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Regarding election symbol.
I think we should add symbols of the parties irrespective of whether they are recognised or not. Like everyone knows that RLD will keep using Handpump as their symbol. Parties once registered usually don't get their symbol changed. What do you say. Because it would be easy for readers if symbols are present. Shaan SenguptaTalk 08:03, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
It is unconfirmed that they will contest on same symbol. Even state parties sometimes may not contest on their symbol in every state. For example, RSP contested on Bat symbol (not usual symbol) in Tripura even being a state party in WB and Kerala at that time. SUCI(C)'s common symbol is Torch. But if you see ECI data for 2019 Lok Sabha election, you can see that in Bihar it did not contested on same symbol in every constituency it contested. I did not check other states and seats. That can happen there also. XYZ 250706 (talk) 08:06, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
If RLD contests on Hand pump symbol on every seats it will contest (although it will appear as original research, but it will contest in UP only), then it can be added. XYZ 250706 (talk) 08:08, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Besides, I am editing in wikipedia from 2022. Since then, I have tried my best to make the articles better with my useful contributions. Besides, according to rules of wikipedia, I am member of WikiprojectΒ : Indian Politics too. I do not think I have made any harm to wikipedia. Besides is there any sort of exemption to IP block?

January 2024 edit

  Hello, I'm Yamla. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) personΒ on Nitish Kumar, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! --Yamla (talk) 09:50, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Nitish Kumar. Thank you. --Yamla (talk) 10:05, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Yamla But I have added source in edit summary. XYZ 250706 (talk) 10:06, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's not sufficient. Please see WP:CITE. Nor does that source indicate this is any sort of official alias for Kumar. It looks like an insult currently common in the tabloids, but that's not enough for you to make the claim that this is what he's generally known as. See WP:BLP. If you have a high quality source indicating this is what he calls himself, great! Let's discuss it! --Yamla (talk) 10:09, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance candidates for the 2024 Indian general election, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Revolutionary Socialist Party.

Restoration edit

Do not make a full restoration of an old revision if maintenance work - citation related, backlinks, date and lang formatting, etc., are done in between. Kindly restore the part you want, manually. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:48, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

March 2024 edit

  Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at 2019 Indian general election. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Didn't you get the first time? I explained in the edit summary as well as the message above. Do not make a full restoration to an older version since maintenance work related to references, links and URLs, dates have been done in between those edits. Restore the part manually. Do not edit war. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:32, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Fylindfotberserk I am well aware of the Wikipedia rules. But I restored the map with proper consciousness. I had given proper explanation also. XYZ 250706 (talk) 17:33, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I mean I then restored the old map. XYZ 250706 (talk) 17:34, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
BUt you have also restored older version of the article in the process, which were not up to date as far as references and manintenance are concerned. Restore the map manually please . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:36, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
You want this map restored? All you need to do is replace with it in the infobox only without touching rest of the article. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:37, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have restored the older one [4]. The newer map was undiscussed anyway. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:42, 2 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
