I'm providing sources as I edit and am continuing to do so by the minute. Forgive me for clicking submit before adding the sources and then editing them in after when I could have added them all at once instead of submitting multiple edits. -185.41.130.3 (talk) 15:54, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi @185.41.130.3: no worries. Please use edit summaries for each edit you make, that way it is clear to other editors (such as myself) what you are doing. Kind regards, —MelbourneStartalk 15:56, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

Noted, I definitely will for upcoming current and future edits. Thank you for explaining my wrongs. -185.41.130.3 (talk) 16:08, 12 August 2019 (UTC)

Here's what I was referring to: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-48171165 Kaleetan (talk) 16:19, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Kaleetan: please cite that source in your edit. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 16:23, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

Joseph Benham

Let me note that I was the one who wrote the existing article. I found later that the wife of Peter Benham was pregnant at the time of his death. She gave birth to Joseph in Kentucky. This is based on the will of Peter which can be found on-line. Being a judge in Newport, Robert handled the estate. Peter family and Robert's family lived close by, as did back in Pennsylvania. She had no way to raise the young boy. The only reasonable conclusion was that Robert (who was wealthy) helped raise him. A common problem to many has been that Robert's and Peter's wife were both named Elizabeth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:A000:1106:2027:B914:C61E:B8E7:617D (talk) 16:43, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

@2605:A000:1106:2027:B914:C61E:B8E7:617D: that's all well and good, but the content you wish to add must be verifiable - and hence, you need to provide a reliable source. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 16:47, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi mr star

hello mr star i know about milos and bamshad trough my friendship with milos thus i am a liable source YOU SHALL NOT assume im lying thy i always tell the truth and only the truth i was in iran with mr rostam and we had very much fun i am a good friend and a loyal listener to his music //regards jacob — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jacob the first (talkcontribs) 14:21, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

@Jacob the first: Wikipedia does not recognise you as a reliable source; so unless you have reliable sources to verify the content you wish to add, it will remain out of the article. I do not assume anything. Kind regards, —MelbourneStartalk 14:26, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

The reliable sources continue to get removed as well as the info being removed. This page continues to be altered to remove what is technically his fiance to attack him Jinxjackinblack (talk) 00:49, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Jinxjackinblack: the edits of yours that I have reverted added content that wasn't verified by reliable sources. Instagram, blogs etc., are not reliable sources, unless they are used to verify content about the subject themselves (not others). Thanks, —MelbourneStartalk 04:28, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

Because sourcing an interview conducted with both parties and published is not verifiable? Sourcing a VERIFIED IG account is not verifiable to YOU? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jinxjackinblack (talkcontribs) 10:42, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

@Jinxjackinblack: not if you haven't provided said interview. Right now all we have to rely on, is your word -- Wikipedia isn't interested in that. —MelbourneStartalk 10:54, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

Airport article

Hey mate, this is about the Beirut article ongoing edit war. I am writing to ask you to please read the source related to the contentious addition and judge for yourself it this serious claim is worth keeping or not. Verifiability guideline, namely WP:CONTEXTMATTERS addresses this issue. I have started a discussion on the article's talk page. ~ Elias Z. (talkallam) 13:19, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

@Elie plus: my edit was procedural as opposed to forming an opinion on the edit war (an IP removed content with a source cited without providing an edit summary). If they explained why they removed said content, I wouldn't have reverted. Nonetheless, I will take a look at the discussion you've opened. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 13:29, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi just trying to add relevant info. please edit out my stuff if it doesn't work. I'm trying to reflect Jennifer Clay's news re the clay foundation. you can email me at barryrigal@mindspring.com if that would be easier.

Faiz Bhora

Dear Mr. Star,

This is in regards to my edits on the article Faiz Bhora. All of the changes made have been reverted back to their previous form. I would like to request that this be rectified as the changes made were in line with Dr. Bhora's latest works and research. Most of the information currently in the article is old, outdated and obsolete information not suited to be in an encyclopedia that many people use. At the moment a lot of the information is misguiding. Just for example, Dr. Bhora is no longer the director at mount Sinai yet the article says so. Please have it reverted back to the form it was with my edits. If you research on the biography of Dr. Bhora, you will realise that the information I inserted with latest and in no way biased. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mzainbaig (talkcontribs) 15:39, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Mzainbaig: I've restored most of your edits. I've not restored the external links you have provided; please limit the use of external links -- especially within the body of the article. I would also encourage you to take the opportunity to provide reliable sources for your edits on the article - as the article needs to be well referenced. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 16:12, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Thank you Mr. Star. Just for my curiosity though why were the links to Rudy L Ruggles Biomedical research institute removed because that is where essentially Dr Bhora does his research — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.72.93.34 (talk) 16:16, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Mzainbaig: no worries. Regarding your query -- where Dr Bhora does his research isn't the focus of the article (it is Dr Bhora himself which is the focus), but moreover: external links cannot not be provided in lieu of Wikipedia articles on the subject; if the institution is notable, it will have a Wikipedia article. If it does not have a Wikipedia article, one could be made or Dr Bhora's article can mention the institution -- but we don't add external links to direct the reader outside of Wikipedia for a subject which isn't directly relevant or notable. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 16:33, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

UNCW men's soccer page

Hi Mr. Star,

I am trying to fix the error on the UNCW men's soccer page. All of the references and categories appear in a table instead of below it where it normally is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.20.102.106 (talk) 14:07, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

editing currency war

Hi,

I was editing the page currency war with political analysis. Did you remove it and why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rogerio vv (talkcontribs) 14:31, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Rogerio vv: your edit(s) removed content without providing a reason in the edit summary. Please use the latter feature whenever editing, otherwise your edits will be easily mistaken as unconstructive. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 14:35, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

I posted a welcome template to their talk page with a lot of links regarding how to edit. If they resume making disruptive edits and/or fail to communicate, you can ping me directly and I'll apply a short block to get their attention. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:36, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Thanks @Ohnoitsjamie: in hindsight you probably had the right idea. I don't believe they'll continue to make disruptive edits, but I'll keep an eye on the article regardless. Kind regards, —MelbourneStartalk 15:39, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Jennifer Albert: welcome to Wikipedia! feel free to edit any Wikipedia article you like. I had undone your edit because it didn't seem constructive, but that's okay! going forward please make sure you only add factual content and that you cite reliable sources to verify such content. Charles Moore

You presumably missed today's news story "Telegraph columnist derided for saying Olivia Colman has 'leftwing face' "

"Actors and writers have criticised the Daily Telegraph columnist Charles Moore for claiming that Olivia Colman has “a distinctly leftwing face” in remarks which suggested she was unsuitable to portray the Queen in the upcoming series of The Crown." https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2019/aug/24/olivia-colman-leftwing-face-telegraph-columnist

Charles Moore is not a constructive addition to the face of the earth. So forgive me for attmpting to point that out. 86.163.99.111 (talk) 18:41, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

@86.163.99.111: sarcasm doesn’t belong in articles on Wikipedia, either. Thanks, —MelbourneStartalk 07:47, 25 August 2019 (UTC)

Grigorii Golosov

Hi, the article "Grigorii Golosov" is inadequate in its current form because it places the first name of the subject before the family name, which qualifies as misinformation, and does not cite any good sources. As such, it should be removed altogether. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.185.27.68 (talk) 08:42, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

@93.185.27.68: his name is correct, per a simple Google search. Thanks, —MelbourneStartalk 08:49, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

@2600:1010:B05F:C35:F5E1:BB5A:DC7D:39A8: I have no doubt that your question was purely to be disruptive (kind of like your extreme BLP violations); that if you continue, you will most certainly be blocked from editing. Stop it, I'm sure you have better things to do. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 09:01, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

Vandalism by an LTA

Could you help me undo the vandalism by the LTA Дельгир Сангарджи-Горяева as I keep on tripping the edit filter on the Russian Wikipedia? Thanks. Nigos (talk Contribs) 06:59, 14 September 2019 (UTC)
