Observations

I've noticed some on some of the pages you've been apart of and I'd like to just list some observations, if I may.

• "Credits and personnel" -> it can just be "Personnel", per the WP:MOSALBUMS and also the writer of the album guide confirmed it for me.
• Personnel should go under the track listing
• If listing Personnel from AllMusic, no need to leave "composer" in [also confirmed in MOSALBUMS].
• I think this one was you. "Commercial success" should be "Commercial performance". This may have been an old edit though.

Changing date formats

Changing accessdates

Unless you have added new information to a page, please don't change accessdates for no reason, as you did at The A Team (Ed Sheeran song). You appeared to change these based on what date the chart was dated, what date the page for a certification lists it as being updated on, or what date the song was certified, which is not what the accessdate parameter is for. You appear to be confusing accessdate with the date parameter (meaning publish date, which is not supported by most singlechart templates). If what you actually did was go back to when an editor first added/changed the peak for that particular chart (which I would find unnecessarily complex to do)—it still doesn't matter, as Mayast verified them by adding the accessdate parameter on 14 June 2014. Whatever date the accessdate parameter was first added should be the date we use, which is why I changed information you appeared to verify yourself (by adding the correct parameters and such) to yesterday's date. Ed Sheeran discography

Max, I don't understand your constant edits to pages like Ed Sheeran discography, in excess of 20 times a day, every few minutes or so, just to fix a few problems that you could already have fixed in a few edits. These constant edits show up for everybody who has the page on their watchlist. You now appear to be trying to identify problems with it. Identify all the problems, then fix them in one or a few edits. This just floods the edit history of the page. The page is not that busy that you would need to keep saving in order to avoid edit conflicts or something. Ss112 09:10, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

@Ss112: Hi Sean. I know what you mean but it's impossible for me to do it like you say, in one or two edits. Sheeran's discography requires going through all the links, checking every release if it's sourced or has the right peak, format them or searching for the sources. It is work for few days at least (as I can't do it 24/7). I already tried it, but every time I wanted to save bigger changes, there were some kind of edits made by other users. So I decided to make it in parts, for example all Canadian peaks (sources, format) in one edit. Celine Dion 'Next Plane Out' release date

Hi, I noticed you added a specific release date of 16 October 1995 for "Next Plane Out". Just wondering, where did you get this from? I think its release date (in Australia) is more likely to have been 9 October 1995. ARIA publish a weekly publication, 'The ARIA Report', which contains lists of new releases, as well as charts, every week. Unfortunately, no new releases list was published in the ARIA Report dated 8 October 1995 (which would normally contain new releases from the following Monday, 9 October 1995), and "Next Plane Out" is otherwise not listed. You can see here that it is not listed on the 16 October 1995 list - http://i.imgur.com/yD4jpNI.png ; although occasionally ARIA would omit a release, or list it on a later week.Nqr9 (talk) 04:40, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

I've noted down a couple of her release dates from The ARIA Report as follows (day/month/year): 'Where Does My Heart Beat Now' (21/1/1991), '(If There Was) Any Other Way' (3/6/1991), 'The Last To Know' (2/9/1991), 'Beauty and the Beast' (27/1/1992), 'If You Asked Me To' (1/6/1992), 'Nothing Broken But My Heart' (25/1/1993), 'When I Fall In Love' (19/7/1993), 'The Power of Love' (6/12/1993), 'Think Twice' (1/8/1994). I have only gone through the 1990-2000 ARIA Reports I obtained (all of those not archived on the Pandora website) until April 1997 so far for singles, and until June 1991 for albums. I haven't noted down release dates where they occurred two weeks before the top 100 entry date, for week-ending dated charts (those before October 1998), as this means they entered the chart after one week of sales; so I did not note down release dates for 'Love Can Move Mountains', 'Misled' or 'Only One Road'. No release date appears at all for 'Next Plane Out', so it must have been released 9/10/1995 (as the new releases list for singles is missing from that week's ARIA Report). ARIA have release dates on their database too. I don't know about other singles charting outside the top 100, as 'The Last to Know' is the only one my chart-fan contact has asked for (I asked him to forward me the email so that I could take a screen-shot of it to use as a reference here), and I haven't asked for any others yet myself. My contact at ARIA can be a bit slow in getting back to me sometimes (they have other work to do, and it is not a service I pay for), but I or my friend may be able to ask about some other releases in future. Before I saw 'Nothing Broken But My Heart' listed in an ARIA Report, I did not know it was released as a single here! Normally wikipedia pages do not list release dates in different countries, and I think 'Next Plane Out' is her only Australian-only single, but if you want to add them for some releases, I could add a reference for them if you mention which ones they are.Nqr9 (talk) 11:49, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

Mariah Carey's sales

An old usary, that used to put here in Wiki inflated sales begun to inflate again, I try to reverted a lot of times, and even an administrator seems don't understand the thing, so I can't revert the editions there anymore, he uses an different ip, seems he doesn't want to be blocked now. You said in the Talk page of the Music Box article that the 28kk copies is the more accurate to the sales, so many times I put sources with that number. Also I change to 28kk in the List of best-selling albums and he changed everytime. Also changed it in the Daydream article and in the Mariah Carey albums discography. Italian charts

Max, I would think with the amount of pages we've both edited in the past, you would know by now I'm quite thorough when I go through a chart and update all of the peaks on it. I have to say, I don't really appreciate you stepping in to update the rest of an artist's peaks when I've done one. You just did it with Sam Smith's single peaks in Italy after I added the album peak—I was getting to those. I think it's a matter of common courtesy if you've seen an editor do it all before to leave it alone. It's not a race. It's not "I'm just helping you out :)"—I don't need help; I've got it covered. I wouldn't interrupt you updating or having one of your extended editing sessions on an article, so it might not be what you intend, but that's what it feels like you're doing to me in order to be the "first" to do it. Whether it's Celine Dion, George Michael, or whoever else you're having a moment with—unless you're the first to find that chart before another editor who's already started updating it, please leave them to do the rest. @Ss112: Hi Sean. I'm honestly sorry if I made you feel this way, this wasn't my intention. I'm interested only in making/updating articles of several artists I respect. It's of course Celine Dion, also Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and few others. And I'm also very iterested in their charts and certifications. I hope it won't be a problem in the future, although I'm not sure what to do? Do I always have to look at the history of your edits to know what chart you're updating at the moment? You seem to update charts for various artists. I go to the chart website - I know the day and the hour it appears - and I look only for example for Smith or Sheeran. I assumed in the same session you would have checked to see if the Italian peak had been added for the album and saw that it already had been; what I meant is if you see somebody has already updated a Smith or Sheeran or peak by whomever, that they may be updating the rest of that chart's peaks so will be getting around to the others and it may seem a bit rude to them when they see someone's done it before them. Sometimes it's unavoidable, especially as some IP editors don't care about other peaks, just for one article or a few. I don't know about any other editor's routine for updating peaks, but I know I go around to all the applicable articles (or try). Ss112 22:12, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

As much as I don't mind you referring to me by my first name on my talk page, on article talk pages, others might not know who "Sean" is, and I don't really want users I don't know at all thinking they can also refer to me by my first name there either. So I think on public talk pages, it's best to just leave it at Ss112. Also, don't be afraid to revert users on Perfect (Ed Sheeran song) if they're claiming Beyoncé's version is credit when the source they're adding doesn't credit her. Celine Dion's French singles not eligible to chart?

Hi Max, I was looking at Celine Dion singles discography earlier and I'm curious as to the wording of the notes for her early French singles that I assume you added, that say each song wasn't eligible to chart on the overall Canadian Singles Chart. Why is that? Is it because the singles had a limited release in Quebec? I assume it's not because they're in French... Just thought I'd ask since I don't know if it's explained anywhere why that is. @Ss112: Hi. These singles could not chart on the main Canadian chart because they were released locally in Quebec only. Her English singles, released in the whole Canada, entered the chart. By the way, Quebec was poorly covered by the chart system. They counted mainly English-speaking Canada. For example D'eux reached only #29. And the chart-run was like this: 58-59-51-47-43-36-29-31-40-54-64-70-76-76-78-83-90. Luckily CRIA was better at this, and they certified the album 7xPlatinum. Dion's first French single to enter the main chart was "Sous le vent" in late 2001 (SoundScan system), when the CD singles market was already dead.

By they way, I would like to ask you about something else :) Did you notice that spanishcharts.com made some changes? They removed the sales only chart and replaced it with sales+streaming chart. This includes all singles since January 2015. So now many positions on Wiki are "incorrect" because users for the last 3 years updated the charts with sales chart which is gone now... -- Max24 (talk) 07:41, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

In a way it's good, so that we don't have disparities between PROMUSICAE's website and whatever form of sales/consumption spanishcharts.com used—I believe it can still be found under their "Top 50 Physical/Digital Singles" listing at http://spanishcharts.com/weekchart.asp?cat=s3, but you're right—it does leave a lot of information now unsourced by the link (as many songs entered the top 50 that didn't enter PROMUSICAE's chart at all). Perhaps there's some way or reformatting the existing entries that relied on spanishcharts.com to link to the archived list of the "physical/digital" top 50 (for instance, by linking directly to pages like http://spanishcharts.com/weekchart.asp?cat=s3&year=2018&date=20180304)... @Ss112: No, I don't live in Canada but I did a lot of research around 2006 looking for Dion's chart history. Until mid-1990s, there were two official Canadian chart publications, RPM and The Record. The Records Singles chart was purely sales, unlike RPM's Top 100 singles chart that was modelled on Billboard Hot 100 and along with sales included airplay data. In 1989, RPM switched to airplay singles chart only, and laler transformed it into Hot Tracks chart that featured tracks not singles, while The Record still retained its singles sales chart. Both magazines published a wide variety of genre-orientated airplay charts. In 1996, Canadian record industry introduced Nielsen Soundscan system for tracking sales, and sales based charts in RPM (albums) and The Record (albums and singles) became more or less obsolete. Later, introduction of BDS made their airplay charts redundant as well. I have Dion's chart history from all these charts :) None of her French (Quebec only) singles charted on RPM or The Record as they were sold or played in just one province of Canada. And the system poorly covered Quebec. SoundScan changed it and included more Quebec music retailers and monitored more Quebec radios. Because of that Dion's French albums could top the main albums chart in Canada and her French songs could enter for example National AC chart, which includes mainly English songs. The power of Quebec can be easily shown, for example Dion's latest album Encore un soir debuted at number one, selling 60,175 copies, including 57,085 in Quebec alone. Reveal (Roxette song)

Hi. Is there a reason why you disambiguated Reveal (song) to Reveal (Roxette song)? I can't find any discussion explaining this change anywhere on your recent contributions page. Plus, there's no other song article on Wikipedia with "Reveal" as its title, so adding "Roxette" seems like unnecessary disambiguation to me. Unless you plan on creating one for the Celine Dion song? I just think it's a bit pointless to have "Reveal (Roxette song)" when there isn't another song article titled "Reveal" on the entire website. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Creating redirects

Hi. When you create redirects, can you please add and source a mention of it at the target article if there is not one already? Earlier today you created redirects for a tour, song and album all called "Courage" as redirects to Celine Dion, but you inserted no mention of these at her article, and there was nothing about a song of this name being announced anyway. It does not matter if you think somebody will make articles for them soon, if there is no supporting material at the target article, they can and frequently are deleted. Not being mentioned at the target is a frequent reason for deletion, especially at RfD, and there are editors who go around and find these and nominate them for deletion, so it's in your best interest to make sure they are at least mentioned at the target. We do not add sources in the lead? Where did that come from?

Max24, you undid my addition of a citation in the lead with the statement that we do not add sources to the lead, and that it is mentioned elsewhere in the article. Yes, we do add sources to the lead paragraph, and into the infobox. There is no protected location in the article where sources cannot be added. Now if you had opened your edit summary by just saying that the release date was sourced elsewhere in the article, that would have been a neutral edit. Your edit came across to me as a preference edit.

I am writing on your talk page instead of reverting your edit on Celine Dion album article because there are citations for the release date elsewhere that were adequate, if concealed in the thick of the article instead of being obvious in the lead, but I wanted to let you know that part of your argument was specious. @Mburrell: WP:LEADCITE is a thing, so I assume that's where it came from. Sure, we can add sources to the lead, but they are not necessary if they are sourced in the body of the article. Courage peaks

Hi. As a precursor before Celine's latest album starts charting in countries from Friday, can I please ask that we don't have a repeat of the toxic behaviour you engaged in several years back, running around to try and add every peak for Encore un soir before me or anybody else, camping on every country's charts when they updated or hanging on any little bit of news like the French chart position to do it before me? Like, we know, you're a superfan of Celine Dion. That doesn't mean you have to exert control of every little aspect of anything relating to her on Wikipedia. I do not want to compete with you or any editor for who can do what first, and given your history, you're more than willing to try to make it a competition. So I'm asking you to not do that this time around. I will update most charts quite promptly (not all, as I don't do all. If I haven't added them within several hours then obviously I'm not going to). I was updatding charts on Celine articles since 2006, and you're telling me that I shouldn't do that on her 2016 French album and her upcoming 2019 English album because you wanted/want to do it? You're telling me that the fact that I worked the most on these articels does not give me the bigger right to update charts there? I agree, but what gives you the bigger right to update Celine's charts? I was updating them 10 years before you, so maybe you're the one who should respect that? You could have written something nice here asking me and I could agree, yet you started writting about me as a toxic person. One look on your comments towards other editors and it's clear who's behaviour is toxic. I didn't call you a toxic person; I called it "toxic" to race ahead of editors who regularly update charts just to do it for one artist so that editor can't. People can do toxic things without being toxic, and if I feel editors have done "toxic" things, then I'm not going to be as nice as I possibly could to them—a better person might, but not me. And I'm quite sure with the Encore un soir charts back in 2016, you were doing those in a hurry so as to do them first, and make it a competition, which feels "toxic" any time someone does that—not just you. Furthermore, I have never intended to be "mean" to you, Max, and I find it quite hard to believe that I am apparently the sole reason (or, you claim me to be) that you don't edit Wikipedia as often as you used to.
