This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2012–13 Florida State Seminoles men's basketball team, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 2011–12 Florida State Seminoles men's basketball team. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. VWBot (talk) 04:03, 29 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, 2012–13 Penn State Nittany Lions men's basketball team edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, 2012–13 Penn State Nittany Lions men's basketball team. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – 2012-13 Penn State Nittany Lions men's basketball team. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 2012-13 Penn State Nittany Lions men's basketball team – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Raziman T V (talk) 20:30, 3 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Creating 2012-13 college basketball season pages edit

Hello - I have noticed that you are creating many college basketball team articles for the coming season. Thank you for doing this, it is very helpful. I do have a couple of favors to ask when doing this, however:

  • When creating a season article, would you mind also creating a redirect using a hyphen between the years as well? You are correctly creating these articles using an endash, but the hyphen redirect helps users search the articles using Wikipedia's dynamic search (since many don't have an endash on their keyboard). I sometimes go behind you and others to do this, but I think it is easiest for the article creator to do this straight away. Let me know if you need help learning how to do this.
  • Please add the new pages to WikiProject College Basketball. You can do this by adding {{WikiProject College basketball|class=start|importance=low}} (without the "nowiki" frames) to the Talk page of the new article.
  • Please ensure that rosters are correct for the coming season. I have seen some cases where the 2011-12 roster is being pasted without updating the class of returning players and without deleting players who have departed.

Thanks for the work, it truly is appreciated - please keep up the good work! Rikster2 (talk) 19:29, 5 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

LTJ - I have noticed that you have been creating a number of 2014-15 college team pages. Could you please begin adding WP:CBB and create a redirect using a hyphen, as outlined above? It would be very helpful to your fellow editors. Thanks. Rikster2 (talk) 21:20, 9 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

2013 College Football pages edit

I have noticed that you have created a lot of college football pages for 2013. First off thank you. I stared all the FCS pages 3 years ago and I like that other people are keeping it up. However, it is obvious that you are copy and pasting most of the content from the previous seasons. In the opening please change everything to present tense. Please change represented to represents, played their home game to play. These are simple changes that need to be made and will save me time from going through and changing them for you later. File permission problem with File:Pierce Transit.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Pierce Transit.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:53, 24 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

The article 2015 Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:CRYSTAL, no significant information to warrant an article at this time. Can be recreated closer to the event.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. College football and basketball team season articles edit

Lewisthejayhawk, thanks for all your recent work to create articles for upcoming college football and basketball team seasons. A couple notes. First, when you write about head coaches with an adjective to describe their tenure, there should be hyphen between the ordinal number and "year", e.g. "first-year head coach" or "27th-year head coach". See my edit at 2014 Wofford Terriers football team. Also, it would be very helpful if you could tag the talk page of new articles that you create with an appropriate project banner. Please see Talk:2014 Wofford Terriers football team and Talk:2014–15 Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball team. All the best, Jweiss11 (talk) 03:23, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wbb team pages edit

I see that you created many of the current year team pages for women's basketball for the Big Ten.

I notice a few of them missing notably Ohio State and Michigan State.

If you would be willing to create the updated team page I would be happy to create the roster and add it. Please let me know, thanks.--S Philbrick(Talk) 19:41, 14 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Past tense on new pages edit

I know I asked you this before with football pages, but with all the basketball pages you are creating this year you are not changing the tense in the opening. You are leaving it as represented, played and were in a conference. I have taken a lot of time going and fixing all of them. Please remember to change those when creating new pages. It a very easy step to add when creating a page and saves me a ton of time from correcting it later. Thank you. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 15:50, 31 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Do you even check your talk page? Even after my post you created Saint Peter's page in past tense still. Please change that when creating pages.Bsuorangecrush (talk) 17:03, 1 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
And now you are doing it again with college basketball pages. How hard is it to change it to present tense? Bsuorangecrush (talk) 15:41, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Just curious why when someone try's to help you do better work you choose to ignore their suggestions? How hard is it to change the opening to present tense on new pages? You did it all of last year, I pointed it out to you yet you continued to leave it in past tense and this year are still not doing it correctly. Why? Just do it right the first time.Bsuorangecrush (talk) 00:15, 8 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

STOP REMOVING MWN!!!! edit

You continue to remove MWN from the Boise State schedule pages.....STOP IT!!! You have never given any reason on talk pages for the removal and I have reverted your edits several times. There is absolutely no reason that It could not be included. Tons of conference's list online streams for tv, including ESPN3, OVC, theW.net, Horizon League Network, BTN+, SECN+, and several others. If all of those are ok to be listed under TV they why not the MWN? If you have a better argument for its removal then make it on a talk page, until then DO NOT!!! change it again. Don't know why I'm even bothering, you never seem to check your talk page. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 16:26, 21 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I remove MWN because I want to do that and please don't blame this one on me

Your continued removal without explanation, like you did today, will now be considered vandalism. If you have an actual reason for removing it please give it on the pages talk page BEFORE!!! removing it. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 03:32, 27 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Two days later and you remove it again. Proof you don't look at your talk page or you are stupid. Not sure which to believe. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 20:48, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Let me tell you something, I can remove whenever I want to so I will remove MWN and don't you dare put it back on!!!

License tagging for File:Pierce Transit 502.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Pierce Transit 502.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 21 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

first warning, you will be blocked if you continue! edit

Due to your refusal to post anything on the talk pages about your removal of MWN from Boise State basketball pages, I am starting official warnings for your vandalism. This is level 1.

Hello, I'm Bsuorangecrush. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!

The topic is up for discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject College Basketball. DO NOT make another edit involving this issue until it is discussed there. If you do I will continue the vandalism warnings. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 18:31, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

You will not block me and you're stupid and I told you MWN does not exist!! You understand me!! It doesn't exist!!!

It does exist, http://www.themwc.com/page/live_and_recent_events. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 17:27, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

okay then and thanks for sending me the link anyways.

Now why are you removing it from the 2015 season? Its the same thing as the year before. I took it to the college basketball project discussion board and it was decided that It can be included. Your continued removal of it is essentially vandalism. Please stop!! You alone do not make the decisions on what can be included and what can't. We reached a consensus that it should be there. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 15:57, 5 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me? I was was the one who done the 2015 Boise State Broncos football team before you done this, so don't tell me who decision is it to make cuz you're not running it.

December 2014 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2014–15 Boise State Broncos men's basketball team. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection.
There is also discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_College_Basketball#TV_listings to determine whether to list MWN in TV listings.Bagumba (talk) 19:22, 31 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Basketball teams edit

Please note that an article is only "categorized" if the categories you add to it actually exist (i.e. they're blue links when you save the page). If they're red, then they don't exist and the page is still uncategorized. You need to either find and use categories that actually exist, or leave the page tagged as uncategorized until somebody else adds them for you — you cannot just keep readding the same non-existing categories over and over again, because no matter how many times you do that I have to keep replacing them with the uncategorized template again. New college football articles edit

Lewisthejayhawk, thanks for your recent efforts to create articles for the 2015 college football season. Please watch the tense in the lead of these articles. We should not use past tense (e.g. "represented") for a season that hasn't happened yet. Also, it would be very helpful if you could tag the talk page of any new article that you create with appropriate project banners. See Talk:2015 Dartmouth Big Green football team for an example. Past/Future Tense edit

Hi,

I've noticed you've been creating numerous team season articles for the upcoming college football season, and you've done a good job. Thank you for that. However, I want to make you aware that you may be having a copy/paste issue where you leave the opening section of the article in past tense (represented, were led by, etc.). Please be sure to watch for that, and when you create the articles, put them in future tense (will represent, will be led by, etc.). Thanks! Mpejkrm (talk) 15:59, 6 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hey, Not sure if you saw my message. Just want to make sure you are watching your tenses as you continue to make new pages with the incorrect tenses. Thanks. Mpejkrm (talk) 22:06, 9 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Given that you have made at least 10 edits to 2014–15 Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team, I thought you might give me image feedback at Talk:Jalen_Brunson#Post_IHSA_main_image_candidates. Last weekend was the 2nd time this year I took photos of Jalen Brunson and I am considering a new main image. Although I will be attending several 2015 McDonald's All-American Boys Game events, last weekend was the last time this year that Brunson will be my primary photographic subject so I wanted some feedback on the new images I have of him.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:25, 26 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:MWC-MVC challenge.jpeg edit

A tag has been placed on File:MWC-MVC challenge.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". CFB link edit

Just an FYI, you don't have to go back to college football pages that use cfb link to replace them. When the most specific page (that is, a season page) exists, AnomieBot will come behind you and replace cfb link with a static link to the appropriate page. Might save you some cleanup work like you've done on 2015 The Citadel Bulldogs football team as you've created the season pages for Furman and Chattanooga. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2015–16 Sacramento State Hornets men's basketball team requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination' by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Basketball teams edit

I've pointed this out to you several times before, but you keep doing the same thing and so I need to remind you again: an article cannot be left "filed" in redlinked categories, because the fact that they're redlinks means that they do not exist. You must either find and use a category that actually exists, or leave the uncategorized tag alone until somebody else finds and applies an appropriate category for you — if you leave the article sitting in a redlinked category, then I have to strip the category and readd the uncategorized tag again, because articles are not allowed to be filed in redlinks. Please stop reinserting nonexistent categories into articles every time I tag them as uncategorized — either find and use a category that exists, or leave the tag alone. Bearcat (talk) 20:44, 7 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

WP:Categorization edit

Reads- "An article should never be left with a non-existent (redlinked) category on it. Either the category should be created, or else the link should be removed or changed to a category that does exist." I am constantly finding articles you have created with redlinks to nonexistent categories. In cases where I find the redlinks, I'm deleting them. Please create the categories....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 11:00, 3 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Categories edit

As you probably know, but I'll repeat, I'm very thankful for your contributions to articles about women's basketball. There are too few editors working in this area and there's lots to do, so thanks again for what you do, and thanks in advance for the work you plan to do.

That said, it is been brought to my attention that you occasionally add red-linked categories when you create a new page. I confess I haven't done a lot of work in categories, so I can't actually tell you why it is considered proper to add a red-link for an article, but not for a category. I suspect there is a good reason and perhaps some lurker will come along and explain it to me. However, it appears to be the case that it is acceptable to create a red-link to an article if it is plausible that the article should exist, and someone will come along and create it, but the same rule does not apply to categories.

One complication, as has been noted, is that we like articles to have categories but if they only have a red-linked category they don't really have a category, so adding a red-link category mean someone has to clean it up and identify it as uncategorized.

I'm sure this is unintentional, but it appears to be continuing even after being noted. My hope is that you simply didn't quite understand the comments — I know I had to read them each twice before figuring out what they meant, so I thought I'd try wording it differently to see if it makes sense with different wording.--S Philbrick(Talk) 15:26, 5 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Sphilbrick: You are correct in your statement above. A red link to a yet uncreated article is acceptable (With some exceptions, like notable people or alumni sections where a reference is required to establish notability if no article exists) if there is a reasonable chance of that article being notable enough to create. WP:Categorization is quite clear. Reads- "An article should never be left with a non-existent (redlinked) category on it. Either the category should be created, or else the link should be removed or changed to a category that does exist." There is a similar rule for WP:Seealso sections as to them never having redlinks.
As to how many entries a category must have, it depends. If they are part of a category tree, one entry. In the case of the redlinks Lewis has been leaving behind, IMHO they would fit the criteria for new categories. If Lewis would just create them.
I do lots of work on categorizing, putting category links onto article pages, doing general category cleanup, sometimes taking part in CFDs, plus creating new categories. My category creations are almost always in areas I have good knowledge. Women's College basketball isn't one of them....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 16:29, 5 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Lewisthejayhawk, I see that you just added another non-existing category. I removed it. It is important to discuss this. I hope it is simply that you don't understand what you're doing wrong, which means communication will help. What did I do wrong? Why are u blocking me from wikipedia for? I didn't do nothing wrong! So unblock me from editing from wikipedia!

There are three requests made of you above not to put category redlinks in the articles you are creating. A Since you continued to do this after somewhere around six requests to do otherwise, an administrator blocked you from editing. He didn't want to do it. We just wish you either- Don't link to nonexistent categories or Create the new categories you want to link to....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 19:07, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

So what I am supposed to now? Can u unblock me from editing wikipedia ASAP or do I have to wait until tomorrow and start editing? Because this is crazy.

@Sphilbrick: I just pinged the blocking administrator....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 19:47, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

So, I gotta wait until tomorrow to unblocked it. This is crazy cuz I got women's college basketball to work on smh

You can request an unblock; if it includes an understanding of what you did wrong and a commitment not to do it again you'll be unblock by me or some other adminalmost immediately. If you wait until your block expires and you continue to use red linked categories without creating them the next block will be longer. You want to contribute constructively, I want you to contribute constructively. It isn't hard to create a category why not just do it?--S Philbrick(Talk) 20:27, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

I just forgot and that's all.

Sorry, but "I forgot" is not close to adequate. Three different editors have written to you about the problem, and you haven't acknowledged a single one of them. I don't yet see any evidence that you understand the problem. It isn't like these things happened a long time ago, you were warned on Friday Thursday , again on Saturday Friday, and you did it again today.--S Philbrick(Talk) 21:24, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Not to mention you went and restored the links to nonexistent categories on multiple occasions after another editor had removed them....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 21:36, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Wait a minute, what do you mean u warned me today? I didn't do nothing wrong, maybe you're the one who did block from doing my women's college basketball and maybe your wasting my time for let me do this on purpose. What do u say about that? And yes I understand!

Sorry I was thinking it was Sunday I'll correct my post. Someone else warned you some other day I'm not going to look it up. One point is that you been one multiple times. Another point is the warnings a recent; it's not like it was months ago so you can get away with saying you forgot. And it isn't enough to say you understand, please explain what the problem is and how to remedy it so I have some reason to think you actually understand. You can be unblocked in minutes if you explain what you did wrong and what you will do differently.--S Philbrick(Talk) 21:55, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I was going to add the categories and create them, one by one. That's the reason why I put them there so I see the past seasons. I didn't do nothing wrong...I want them to see them exist. That's all

You still can't admit you did anything wrong. Two- You have been doing this since at least 2014 and they were still redlinks there one year later....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 22:51, 7 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

How do you know that I didn't admit when I was wrong? I told you the truth! And now you calling me a liar? I know what I'm doing! And you got no reason to block me from editing wikipedia!

Just as a reminder, because I'm going to be away from my computer much of the day going to a women's basketball game, I don't think many people are watching this page but if you follow the instructions in the block template, other admins will be aware of your request for an unblock.--S Philbrick(Talk) 14:13, 8 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well, next time when I will add the categories, do not block me ever again!

I don't want you blocked now. I'm happy to unblock you as soon as you make a statement that makes it clear you understand what you did wrong and commit to doing it right. That doesn't sound so hard but I don't understand why you fail to do so. Do you know how to tell if a category exists? Do you know what to do if it doesn't exist but should be created? (I'm leaving for basketball game in a few minutes, so apologies if you respond later; I won't be able to unblock you block you until later today, although if you use the template as noted above someone else might respond sooner.)--S Philbrick(Talk) 16:38, 8 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well, I should just created one! and I just told you about it since yesterday and you acting like I don't understand anything.

You're still making links to nonexistent categories and not creating the categories as seen here[1], here[2], here[3], and here[4]. I'm going to ping @Sphilbrick: again....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:06, 9 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Lewis, what on earth is going on? You said you were going to add anymore red link categories and you have several times. I tried to ask if you understood what you are doing and you got upset. I really don't think you know what you are doing wrong but if you won't admit it and you continue to do it you will be blocked and this time the block will be longer. Next redlink category, and I'm blocking you for several days. Lewis you'd don't fully understand how much I hate to have to do this because you are contributing to an underserved area but when you blatantly disregard our processes you create more problems than it's worth. Please tell me you'd don't quite understand what you are doing wrong and I bet William will offer to explain it to you. If he doesn't I will. But you must stop adding red linked categories and failing to create them immediately. Do you comprehend? As an aside can you please sign your posts. You aren't to newbie who doesn't understand you know how to do this.--S Philbrick(Talk) 00:16, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Look, you're not going to block me for several days just because I'm creating one. The reason why I'm upset because I have feelings.

I just noticed there is no option to send a message of thanks when a cat is created, but I see you have created some, so I wanted to thank you. You have no idea how happy this makes me.--S Philbrick(Talk) 02:09, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, you're welcome and yes I did created the Big East season under categories. I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for me doing this. So yeah.

Dates on Standings edit

Hi Lewisthejayhawk! I just wanted to remind you that per Template:CBB Standings End, the date listed on basketball standings indicated the last time the standings were changed (as in, no further than the date of the most recent game played). There are a couple reasons for this, including that forecasting dates should be avoided, and that it is possible for unexpected schedule changes (while generally rare) may potentially occur. Thanks! --Zach Pepsin (talk) 20:40, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • I see that you once again are incorrectly changing the dates to the future, even after I left a message to you requesting you not do so. "As of" date convention edit

I understand that there is a difference of opinion about the “as of date” in conference standings. On the one hand, I can understand that, if there is a game on March 6, but no game on, say March 7 or 8, and the next game will be on March 9, then the standings after the March 6 game will be unchanged and valid until the 9th, so one might say that these are the standings as of March 8, even though it might not yet be March 8 when the update is posted.

But I also think this is potentially confusing. Let’s take an extreme, which I often find a useful exercise. Suppose the tournament finals are on March 7. The4n the updated standings will be unchanged forever, but if we said these are the standings as of March 2019, that would be both technically correct, and highly confusing.

I think it is a better paradigm to use an as of date corresponding to the date of the most recent game played.

I have only been a casual observer of discussion at the Wikiproject Basketball page, so it is possible that a consensus of editors has reached a different consensus. (Or maybe if has been discussed in a broader context, in another location, as the issue applies to all sports). If they have, I’d like to see it, so I can see if the argument is persuasive. If not, and you still disagree with my suggestion, perhaps we should open up a discussion there so we can reach a consensus about best practices.

I do want to add my thanks for the work you are doing. Last season, I spent a lot of time updating the conference standings results, so I know it is an enormous undertaking. I am happy to see that you have been so diligent; that has allowed me to keep other pages, such as the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball rankings page current. Keep up the good work.--S Philbrick(Talk) 16:54, 8 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Removing information on CBB Schedules edit

Why in the world do you keep removing seeding information on WCBB team schedules? There is no reason to do this, and if you can find anything on Template:CBB schedule entry that says otherwise, I kindly ask for you to point it out to me. At the very least, you should please leave comments on your edits.

Furthermore, your actions of continuing to revert my edits violates Wikipedia:Edit warring. I want to solve this issue. You are a great contributor and I want to stop this nonsense. --Zach Pepsin (talk) 01:52, 14 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Edit Warring edit

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

You are not blocking me! SO leave it alone! Plus why are u keep doing reverting everytime when you be coming on there! Can't you just leave it alone and stop messing with it? Please and thank you.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lewisthejayhawk (talkcontribs)

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you.

Blocked edit

I have reviewed the two seperate AN complaints against you. Multiple users have made an ample case to demonstrate a variety disruptive behavior by you. As I'm sure you've seen, everyone gives you credit for being a constructive and prolific editor, don't understand why disruption is coming from you, and are reluctantly pleading for administrator action because they feel it is the only recourse in dealing with you at this point. The biggest problem I'm seeing is your unwillingness to discuss anything. Other editors are seeing problems with you and are explaining their problems. Rather than addressing the issues in good faith, you're continuing to edit war and refusing to respond to them, save for comments like "you're not blocking shit". There's no attempt at an explanation, no attempt to work together. You should know by now that this is a collaborative project. You need to discuss things with other people when it proves necessary. This is one of the five pillars of this project. You have already been given plenty of leniency due to your standing here: you've had plenty of time to reasonably respond to the complaints against you and have failed to do so. In fact, you've allowed problematic editing to continue in spite of these complaints. There is more than enough reason to block you at this point and if there is any reason not to, you have not shown us what it is. Therefore I'm blocking you for a period of 72 hours and when the block expires, I implore you to try to be more collaborative and respectful of your colleagues. Your positive contributions are appreciated, but they do not excuse you to disrupt the project at the expense of fellow dedicated areas. Swarm 05:14, 17 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

2014–15 Western Kentucky Lady Toppers basketball team edit

Sorry, we edit conflicted on the move. If the appropriate naming convention uses just the letters rather than the full name just move it back. Meters (talk) 07:36, 15 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 2014–15 Western Kentucky Lady Toppers basketball team a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Don't do cut and paste moves. You lose all of the edit history when you do it that way. There's a reason we have a "Move" button. Meters (talk) 07:42, 15 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Play4Kay Shootout edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Play4Kay Shootout requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Basketball navbox naming edit

Why are you including 'season' in basketball navboxes when that isn't the standard, something you should know by now? Was a there a discussion somewhere that I'm not aware of or is it an accident? I'm just wondering... Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 22:05, 23 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please STOP including the word 'season' in the navboxes. You are going a standard that has been used by the WikiProject for quite a while. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 17:52, 25 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

No there was no discussion about it

So please explain as to why you're going against the WikiProject's standard? Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 04:02, 30 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

I did explain to you! so how in the world i'm going against the WikiProject standard? I was creating the navbox for the history of women's college basketball! You better unblock ASAP otherwise I'm going not to get caught up with women's college basketball

Navboxes should not be named Template:Texas State Bobcats women's basketball season navbox. Instead, the title – as the standard has been for many years – should be Template:Texas State Bobcats women's basketball navbox. You've been including 'season' in the name, which is against the WikiProject's standard. If you don't understand that, I'll let someone else try to explain it to you. I'm not sure how much clearer I can be. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 17:47, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

I just want to be unblocked so I can do what I have to do. Because I can't wait for a week to be unblocked, I'm sorry but it's too long.

I did that already. But thanks and hopefully I get answer within 24 hours

I think Corky is right, we don't include the word “season” in the title, but I don't recall that this was codified as a standard. Lewis, you should follow the standard (Corky, could you point us to the discussion which made this the standard?)
I am not active in SPI, so have no knowledge of the allegations that Lewis a sock, but I can say that Lewis has been a prolific contributor for years, so am troubled by the block.--S Philbrick(Talk) 14:13, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Okay, if I can't put the word "season" in it, when I'm supposed to be unblock because this is not fair to me that I've been waiting for a month

If I did put the season in it, why I am I still blocked for?

@Sphilbrick: See here as the go-to for this. I asked at the WikiProject, the Jrcla2 has been on the Wiki longer than I (and a main member of the WikiProject). I'd have to go look through the archives to see if they've talked about it. I can tell you though that as long as I have been an editor (June 2012), this has been the standard. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 20:15, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
You and I seem to have a different view of the word “standard”. Should we have season in the title? I don't know but a statement such as “There should never be "season" in the name... “ is the observation of a (well-respected) editor, but hardly rises to the level of a standard.
I'm also stunned by the weak linkage between this editor, who works mainly on basketball articles, and an edior banned years ago for claiming to be a doctor. Seriously?--S Philbrick(Talk) 20:54, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
To my memory there is not an "official" discussion on it, but all WP CFB, WP CBBALL, and WP CBASEBALL projects have kept the naming convention without "seasons" for as long as I can remember. It promotes consistency among all college sports' WikiProjects. Why Lewisthejawhawk is adding "seasons" to the names when these are (a) clearly more than just seasons, and (b) going against years-old, long-established naming conventions for no rhyme or reason is beyond me. I support Corky's pursuance of this, because it makes no sense. Jrcla2 (talk) 21:35, 2 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand why I'm still blocked for if I put the word "season" for just because it's standard, I did the right thing by put navbox in these articles. So I shouldn't have to blocked, because I haven't done editing for about month so is there a way that (Bagumba) can unblock me ASAP because this is unacceptable

Lewisthejayhawk, my guess is because you have edited while logged out on multiple occasions. This is a known fact.
Sphilbrick, when I think of standard, I'm thinking what is the common title when creating these templates. If we've been naming them this way for a long time, it should remain that way until a consensus says otherwise. Jrcla2 is right; the navboxes are more than just seasons. They include the stadium, history, and other relevant articles. Adding "seasons" to the title is misleading and is incorrect. Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 03:48, 3 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I did editing when I was logged out but the problem is I'm still blocked since I can't edit because I do have an account, so what is going on and why is it taking so long to unblocked me?

Your block and use of this talk page edit

You have been indefinitely blocked because this account is a suspected sock puppet of User:Dereks1x. The evidence can be found at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dereks1x/Archive along with the evidence for several other Lewis's. After four hopeless UTRS appeals, in under a month, your right to submit further UTRS appeals has been suspended. Talk page access is being maintained solely for you to be able to submit an appeal using the {{unblock}} template. Please read the Guide to appealing blocks. However, your chance of success in such an appeal is limited because the instruction to admins, on User:Dereks1x, is "Do not unblock this user or his socks without contacting arbcom.". Your most realistic appeal avenue is to submit evidence that you are not a sock puppet by email to the Arbitration Committee at arbcom-l@lists.wikimedia.org . If you make any further use of this talk page, other than a formal appeal, then your right to use this page will be revoked. Just Chilling (talk) 03:37, 4 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

For how long because I'm not using a sock puppet! This is unacceptable! Otherwise I'm done with wikipedia because I can't do nothing because I'm still blocked and you're making me very upset now!

This is not helping me on how long am I still be blocked for? Because you are not right

When you are u going to unblock my account because it's been 2 months and you won't unblock me, you need to block me. I haven't done nothing in last 2 months. You got to do something, please

I suggested you better unblock me because I'm not waiting until further notice and I'm not waiting until June, so you better do something with (Bagumba),

Request reason:

I was doing women's college basketball, creating the templates and someone told me that I put the word season it in it without the word season in it. All I was doing was creating the templates one by one, so I just want to be unblocked.

Decline reason:

This does not address the reason for your block, which is that you have been abusing multiple accounts. Yamla (talk) 20:22, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The reason why I decided to create another account is because I haven't done anything in the last 2 months since my account was blocked since January, that's why I'm using multiple accounts. But I just want to unblocked it so that way I won't keep creating new accounts, which is abusing. That's the reason why, because if I did I wouldn't keep doing this over and over again, so can you please do something about it because I can't be denied this time. Thank you

Decline reason:

You just admitted to sock puppetry, and that you're the sock of a blocked user. That's as cut and dry as it gets RickinBaltimore (talk) 21:45, 10 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The reason why I need to be unblocked is because I did admit to a sock puppetry, created another account by using multiple accounts and now that's my reason and I didn't do nothing with the sock of a blocked user, can you unblocked me because I explain everything about what happened. I just want to be unblocked so that way I want things to go back to normal like it used to be because I don't want to do this again and I promise not to do that, and please don't denied me again because this is very important to me

Decline reason:

You were evading your block quite recently. If you violate this policy over and over again, why should you be trusted to keep any others if they stand in the way of what you consider very important? Given your long history of disruption, it's probably best if you give up and find another hobby; you would find it exceedingly difficult to regain the community's trust after socking for the better part of a decade. My advice to you is to make your next appeal particularly convincing because, otherwise, your access to this page is liable to be revoked. Just Chilling (talk) 11:52, 11 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
This is what is exactly I was talking about! Why in the hell I created account and why did they blocked me? This is unacceptable, I can't do shit now because you keep doing this over and over again and you can't unblocked me ASAP, I'll file complaint on Bagumba and Huon for blocking me because that ain't right
In view of your subsequent socking you have no further use for this talk page. Just Chilling (talk) 21:39, 16 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Just Chilling: Not sure if it's technically against blocking policy but Lewisthejawhawk is editing again as anon 206.188.36.42. Jrcla2 (talk) 20:30, 4 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Jrcla2: Thanks for the heads up. It is block evasion and I have long-term blocked the IP and rolled back his edits per accepted practice with sock edits. If you spot him in action elsewhere please let me know. Just Chilling (talk) 21:05, 4 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

UTRS admin note edit

Lewisthejayhawk has been blocked from making further appeals via UTRS. After all of the appeals made here as well as those via UTRS, their response to the standard question "Why do you believe you should be unblocked?" was "Because I didn't do nothing wrong and it [sic] need to be unblocked asap". They've been directed to Arbcom as a final route of appeal.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 17:33, 15 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Following a conversation in the #wikipedia-en-unblock IRC channel I have re-established talk page access so Lewisthejayhawk can make a new unblock request. I advise them to read WP:GAB before making the request if they aren't familiar with that guideline. Huon (talk) 20:08, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The reason why I wanted to be unblocked is because I said something that was inappropriate in January last year and I was sorry about that because it was a threat and it was my fault and yes I understand I was using a sock puppetry in last 3 user names or more, so I was wondering what can you do for me so that was it won't happen again. Otherwise thanks and have a nice day

Decline reason:

Back to square one indeed. Talkpage access revoked again; until there is a serious demonstration of clue from this account, this ban isn't going anywhere. Yunshui  08:35, 2 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

"I was wondering what can you do for me so that was it won't happen again" This is absolutely the wrong way around. What can you say to us so we can be absolutely sure you won't set up sockpuppet accounts again? And the sheer number of accounts in Category:Suspected_Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Dereks1x and Category:Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Dereks1x gives me pause. You'll need to comment on this, given the level of abuse you demonstrated. --Yamla (talk) 20:30, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Note also that you are banned, not just blocked. This means a random adminstrator cannot simply lift your ban. --Yamla (talk) 20:32, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I understand I'm banned but Huon just unblocked my talk page about 10 minutes ago and you're saying I'm still banned Yamla after all those multiple accounts? I understand I did sock puppetry, but this is the only account I have as of right now, the reason of them I don't want them. So what are you going to do Yamla? I said I was sorry that I said something bad. I want to delete or retired all other accounts except for Lewisthejayhawk, that's the only account that I got as of right now. I can't be banned forever

You most certainly can be banned forever. You will be banned forever unless you can convince the Wikipedia community that the ban should be lifted. More information is available in WP:BAN. I'll warn you, your current unblock request is nowhere near sufficient. I'm not trying to be difficult. I am trying to guide you to the information you need to have a hope of getting your ban lifted. You need to address the points I've brought up, really. --Yamla (talk) 20:44, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

So, about the Wikipedia Community. How does that work Yamla because I don't want to be banned no more. And I believe that Wikipedia community ban should be lifted because nobody liked to be banned on wikipedia and I understand it's a fair policy Yamla.

WP:GAB and WP:BAN covers this. You need to address the points I've brought up and you need to convince us you'll be a productive editor here, despite your years of abuse. There's nothing more I will say here. --Yamla (talk) 20:53, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I already read that Yamla. Because I thought you were going to help me to unban me

So I guess we go back to square one
