Disambiguation link notification for October 19 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Naxalbari uprising, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indian Police. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:16, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Mahadev Mukherjee moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Mahadev Mukherjee, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ─ The Aafī (talk) 08:05, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Okay I will improve the article with more content and sources. Thank you for letting me know. Kommune12 (talk) 17:36, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

October 2020 edit

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Bodu Bala Sena. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Please stop adding false information as you did here. The source you provided makes no mention BBS being banned as a terrorist organisation. As someone who follows Sri Lankan news I know that BBS was never banned. The fact that you have added such blatantly false information and maliciously added a source to make it look like the information you added was true makes me wonder what other false information you have added. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. If you want to disseminate false information use Facebook. Obi2canibe (talk) 12:55, 25 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

First of all I never intended to add false information and I also follow Sri Lankan news. First and foremost I have to say, Gnanasara was imprisoned as you may know. He wasn't able to coordinate the organization which means it has gone proscribed. After he was released it become active again and was involved in the 2019 anti-Muslim riots. Kommune12 (talk) 05:34, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Gnanasara was imprisoned but his imprisonment had nothing to do with the riots. You have synthesised this to mean that the BBS were banned as a terrorist organisation which is completely false. You have not understood the basics of Wikipedia.--Obi2canibe (talk) 11:49, 31 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Socialist Students Union (Sri Lanka) edit

The article Socialist Students Union (Sri Lanka) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Can't find enough in-depth sourcing to show it passes either WP:GNG or WP:ORGDEPTH.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Kommune12! Your additions to Magazine prison break have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:08, 8 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sources in 1987–1989 JVP insurrection edit

Hi, it looks like you made substantial edits to the article recently. There a couple issues with the sources in the article, can you help resolve them?

  1. The "B. Pfaffenburger 1988, p. 3" and "B. Pfaffenburger 1988, p. 7" refences don't link to any citation (if you click on the blue link in the cite, it does not take you to the full source). There is another source by the author "B. Pfaffenberger (February 1988). Sri Lanka in 1987: Indian Intervention and Resurgence of the JVP", but the page numbers don't match -- the February article page range is 137-147
  1. Ref #17 just says "[#CITEREF|], p. 286."
  2. Ref #69 just says "Uyangoda. 1993." - what is the full citation?
  3. Ref #97 "Anita Pratap. The Island of Blood." needs a page number
  4. Ref #106 "C.A Chandraprema (1991). pp. 17" - what is the full citation?
  5. Ref #112 "AI Feb. 1998, 2-5" - what is the full citation?

Thanks! Renata (talk) 05:05, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, 1. 'B. Pfaffenburger' one, I provided a source. however there is a problem that the blue link doesn't seem to link to the source, I suggest the date may be changed from 'February 1988' to '1988'. But there should be a different way to solve it.

Ref no. 17 [CITEREF] is a error, i will fix it.

Ref no. 106 is from a book but i didn't add it to the sources section, i will add it as well.

I will try to look into issues with other sources. Kommune12 (talk) 08:55, 13 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
