Additional tips edit
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Irish people peer review? edit

Re: Grimhelm Logo edit
Hi, I saw your querry on Gmaxwell's talkpage. Since the image is a copyrighted logo it's only usable on Wikipedia under a fair use claim. However Wikipedia policy does not allow fair use images to be used outside of articles (see Wikipedia:Fair use#Fair use policy for details). So yeah, you are not supposed to put such unfree images on your userpage, and any unfree image that are not actualy used to ilustrate an actual article are marked for deletion as a matter of policy (see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#I5). My bad. I When originally wrote it, the text that was originally there placed me under the impression that the LOTR one was somehow UK specific, and that only Fantasy and 40K had received campaigns. Eye of Terror edit
I'm inclined to disagree with the move of Eye of Terror to Eye of Terror Online Campaign for two reasons.
The first is that the article focuses on both the fictional location, and the campaign itself. I would support the splitting out of the campaign section, however, at this time, I don't think there's enough content to justify an individual article.
The second is my personal disagreement to use the term "Online Campaign". To me, this seems to neglect two things. First is that while "Online Campaign" tells us the method of play, use of "Worldwide Campaign" (my personal preference) or "Global Campaign" (the only reference I can find in the most recent White D that doesn't stink of 'northern hemisphere-ism') indicates the scale of the event, which to me is more important.
Would you be adverse to a move back to "Eye of Terror", keeping "EoT Online Campaign" as a redirect? Please reply on my talk page. -- Saberwyn 10:55, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- I've moved Eye of Terror back, with "Online Campaign" and "Worldwide Campaign" as redirects. There are instructions to split the player-related sections out to "Eye of Terror Worldwide Campaign" (as this was how GW referred to it) if they grow sufficiently.
- Similar instructions have been placed at Medusa V, instead with instructions to split out to "The Fall of Medusa V" (as the title of the campaign), and to redirect all permeations of Online/Worldwide Campaign to this new article.
- I don't know what to do with Storm of Chaos or War of the Ring, as I don't know how they were referred to. I'll leave those up to you and your colleagues.
- Finally, I realise I forgot to make my second point for why I prefer Worldwide to Online, so I may as well make it now: Everything from Dark Shadows back to Ichar IV was conducted by mail, so Online doesn't encompass these. -- Saberwyn 08:20, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Capitals in headings edit
Grimhelm, Unless the heading of a section is a proper noun, we typically only capitalize the first word (for example, Islamic philosophy rather than Islamic Philosophy. Thanks for you edits to history of science, by the way. You might be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject History of Science, if you haven't seen it already. The White Counsil edit
I don't see why you had to remove that stuff from the White Counsil-article. The White Counsil is well-known because of the work laid into creating a new fantasy world and setting, and it was not my intentions to make a section for every sub-forum. But that sub-forum especially is well-known, and something that make the White Counsil more famous.--Ariakas 09:44, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Hubert Schiffer edit
Thanks. I think I probably found the Hubert Schiffer page by pressing "Random article" button to find something to work on. It's interesting because it deals with the effects of the American atomic bomb blast on Hiroshima. I found a source that, although extremely biased, cited some of Hershey's book, an eyewitness account of the blast. I think this article has possibilities.
This is a good site. I've also found a few other things to work on. We don't seem to have an article on the Japanese campaign in Borneo, for instance. Rosejpalmer 22:22, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Seems a shame really that you got your facts wrong. I am the REAL Lee Crompton and yes, I was originally SELF published through Lulu (over 2 years ago). Both my books have been published through Ascendere Publishing since early last year. Someone else said there might be only a few available. How would they know? They're available through Amazon, both in the US and in the UK, WHSmiths, Borders, Barnes & Noble ... to name but a few. I'm not really too concerned about the publicity on Wikipedia, I'd just rather people got their facts right before they go deleting things for no reason. Power trip?

A search for "The White Counsil" returns 42 unique hits, 107 repeated (Google reports 1,070 and 1,680). Usually, a topic has ten times the number of Google hits to belong to Wikipedia. Hope it clarifies the matter. -- ReyBrujo 16:42, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

- Unfortunately not. Francis Grove was an alcoholic and was hard up for money so he he produced the whole series of engravings about British military history. If you seach the Fine Rare Prints website for "Francis Grose" you should find many more from his book “Military Antiquities Respecting a History of The English Army from Conquest to the Present Time”. Caspian expeditions of the Rus' needs some attention from somebody familiar with the region, perhaps the article name can be changed to Southern expeditions of the Rus', as there are some problems with what is included with this title and there is no article on the Rus' siege of Constantinople for example. So if you are interested, just go along, two competent authors are already working on the topic, but they can not agree on some issues. Wandalstouring 23:23, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
