Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EucharisticCongress1932.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:EucharisticCongress1932.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:46, 13 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello Grimhelm/Archive 3!

You are cordially invited to participate in WikiProject Christianity

The goal of WikiProject Christianity is to improve the quality and quantity of information about Christianity available on Wikipedia. WP:X as a group does not prefer any particular tradition or denominination of Christianity, but prefers that all Christian traditions are fairly and accurately represented.

Replaceable fair use Image:EmpireLandsknecht.jpg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:EmpireLandsknecht.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice?Remember the dot (talk) 01:16, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

History of cannon. edit

I started copyediting/reading History of cannon today, but noticed it's practically the same information that's in Cannon#History, except shorter, and with fewer sources. What would you say about copy-pasting the information from Cannon#History over to History of cannon, elaborating a bit more on a few topics (such as Middle East and Modern cannon), and writing a new lead section? · AndonicO Engage. 17:04, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, there are a few bits of sourced info that are in History that aren't in #History. I'll give it a thorough review, and then paste in the info/sources from #History. · AndonicO Engage. 20:16, 14 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Irish people GA Sweeps Review: On Hold edit

As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing sweeps to go over all of the current GAs and see if they still meet the GA criteria and I'm specifically going over all of the "Culture and Society" articles. I have reviewed Irish people and believe the article currently meets the majority of the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. In reviewing the article, I have found there are multiple issues that need to be addressed, and I'll leave the article on hold for seven days for them to be fixed. I have left this message on your talk page since you have significantly edited the article (based on using this article history tool). Please consider helping address the several points that I listed on the talk page of the article, which shouldn't take too long to fix with the assistance of multiple editors. I have also left messages on the talk pages for other editors and a related WikiProject to spread the workload around some. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 04:10, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your GA is under review edit

Hi there, I see that you are a primary contributor to the article Cannon in the Middle Ages. This article has come under review for Good article reassessment as part of GA Sweeps and a number of problems have been identified which are listed on the talk page. Please begin to address these points in the next seven days or the article will be delisted from GA and will have to go through the GAN process all over again to regain its status once improvements have been made. If you have any questions, please drop me a line.--Jackyd101 (talk) 13:59, 12 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

By the way, an article that you wrote is at GAR, and I've addressed most of the issues brought up; see here: it would be helpful if you provided page numbers and explained the scope. I've commented in the main text where page numbers would be helpful in the form of a <!-- NEEDS PAGE NUMBER -->. Orphaned non-free media (Image:WaroftheRingSiegeTowers.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:WaroftheRingSiegeTowers.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:53, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
