Ghirlandajo is the web avatar of Andrey from Yaroslavl, Russia. He used to be one of the top thirty most active editors in the English Wikipedia. In December 2006 he became persuaded that the time had come to have two distinct classes and groups of editors - those who support and abide by IRC placed admins, and those who refuse to acknowledge them as well as their ArbCom, but continue to write the project. This sad realization induced him to move his activity to the Russian Wikipedia, for which he has since contributed several thousand new pages and where he has been the sole updater of the DYK section. His sympathy is with Wetman, Dbachmann, Bishonen and others who continue to battle on in the face of the wilful descent of the English Wikipedia into the quagmire of stagnation and irrelevance, through the connivance of the ArbCom and the ever growing number of irresponsible juvenile administrators.
