Remember to warn users! :-)

Hi FULBERT! I saw that you correctly reverted this edit to Philips van Almonde, but you didn't leave the IP user a warning for the vandalism. It's important to make sure that you remember to do this. This way, we communicate to users asking them to stop the behavior, and it helps justify a block for repeat offenders when it becomes needed. Please let me know if you have any questions or need help, and I'll be happy to lend a hand. Thanks for patrolling recent changes and for cleaning up vandalism - it's a thankless job and I appreciate it very much! :-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:53, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Oshwah, Thanks for the feedback. I tend not to comment on the user pages of those who are not logged in, as I thought there is little chance those comments will be seen. Do you think it is still worth doing so nonetheless? Thanks again. FULBERT (talk) 01:01, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
You're welcome! To answer your question: absolutely. It communicates to the user about the behavior, tells them that it's disruptive, and asks them to stop. If anything, it helps justify a block for repeat offenders. It doesn't give them the ability to come at us saying, "I wasn't told to stop!", "I didn't know that I was doing anything wrong!", "This is an unjustified block!", or something similar. It makes the job of admins easier when they see that repeated warnings have been given to the user and to no avail. If you don't have Twinkle enabled, it makes it super easy to warn users. Many recent changes patrolling programs and scripts will also do it for you. ;-) Please let me know if you have any more questions or need my input with anything else, and I'll be happy to help. Again, keep up the great work! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:15, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
Oshwah, These are helpful points! I use Twinkle for some things, though forget how powerful that tool is as it includes so many options for helping with this process. Thanks for the reminder! FULBERT (talk) 16:42, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
You bet! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 17:31, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

This week's article for improvement (week 19, 2021)

Tattooing among women of the Koita people of Papua New Guinea traditionally began at age five and was added to each year. The V-shaped marks on the chest, with certain others, indicate that the woman is marriageable. Photo taken in 1912.
